Opinions de Daedo Skidang Los Angeles
Nice kbbq spot with excellent cuts of meat and high quality ingredients. Delicious recipes and friendly, attentive wait staff that will cook and cut the meat for you.
When I’m in Ktown for BBQ this is our spot now because not only is the beef high quality certified angus, the restaurant is modern, elegant, clean and spotless! Your clothes don’t smell like Korean BBQ after because they have high quality ventilation. The only compromise is that there is less Banchan (side dishes) and it’s pricier than other BBQ places, but it’s worth it if you have extra money to spend!
The combination of the ambience, food, and service makes Daedo a wonderful experience. The meat is of all high quality and inspected carefully. The service is top notch with the meat being cooked to perfection with all the servers being attentive and helpful to the table. I recommend getting the Gold Rush cocktail as it was delicious to have with our meal. Will come again. Thank you!
There’s no where in LA that has better steak with great service in an beautiful atmosphere. I love eating here because you only have to make three decisions. What cut you want. What drink you want. If you want a side dish, what that is. They make it so easy. The ice cream is the perfect palate cleanser. And you don’t leave smelling like a Korean BBQ restaurant.
Service was very good. In contrast to what many others have said our server/cook was friendly and took the time to get us what we needed. The bulgogi was okay but not amazing. The fried rice with kimchi puffs is amazing. Aesthetic of the whole restaurant is great. Hey why is the urinal in the bathroom completely full of ice, that was totally weird, stop doing that! LOL 😂
Daedo Sikdang in Los Angeles is a true culinary gem. The food was outstanding, presenting authentic Korean flavors that delighted my taste buds. The service was top-notch, with a knowledgeable and attentive staff that enhanced the overall experience. A must-visit for anyone craving delicious Korean cuisine in a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended!
i have been meaning to come here for a while, and finally did. it is definitely pricey, but considering prices of other places it is not bad. food and service is worth the price. it was some of the best quality meat i have had at kbbq restaurants. cocktails were very delicious. will come back!
Excellent. Prime cuts of meat grilled perfectly and served in style! Different than the typical way that Korean BBQ, meats and dishes are served. The focus is on high quality cuts and the essence of the meal and different dishes on the menu. A sophisticated, unique and delicious way to try traditional Korean BBQ dishes.
Amazing experience at this restaurant. Food quality is top-notch. Some of the tastiest meat I've ever had. The service was top-notch as well. Staff is incredibly kind, knowledgeable about their products & passionate. Will definitely be returning here!
Finally stopped in this neighborhood place (around the block from apt.) for a beer at the bar. And, I'm sure glad I did: smells like a Bar-B-Q; looks like a sleek, modern K-Town eatery; they got Stella on tap; the music sounds excellent at the bar; and staff is friendly and professional.
Excellent refined balanced Korean BBQ. Famous in Korea for decades, recently to LA. For meat they just serve wet-aged prime black angus ribeye butchered into seperate cuts. Waiter handles all the cooking. Meat portions are small, we ordered one of everything and maybe would have have liked a couple more. A few simple free side dishes and some dipping sauces are included. You’ll want to add on the cold noodles (the big bowl serves 4-6 as a side dish), a hot soup (big bowl serves 4 as a side dish), and the fried rice (which has a few options, it’s served and cooked at the table at the end of your grilling session so prepare to wait for it but it’s worth the wait). A double order of fried rice was not really enough for the 3 adults and 3 kids we had with us. They serve free milk flavored soft serve with a rice cracker at the end which finishes off everything nicely. Did not try the porridge. Everything on the menu is carefully planned to balance out the meal. So work your way through the whole menu don’t overloaf on the meat. Be prepared for some training wheel hiccups as this restaurant has only opened in July of 2021 and has a set system of operation to manage the large scale of the place. Waiters we had were Korean native speakers who did not have great English, tended to spend more time with the Korean speaking tables, so be patient and just go along for the ride. We got there at 4:30pm before they opened at 5pm and did not leave until around 8pm and was one of the first tables to leave. So they probably only flip the restaurant twice a night currently. Drinks are small so I would order them ahead of when you think you’ll need them. They will bring water on request but again order ahead of when you think your glass will be empty. It’s an attempt at an elevated dining experice then the rest of Koreatown with a cost of about $60 a person, but no reservations makes dining here more frustrating then it has to be which is probably damaging their brand somewhat, saw lots of people parking with the valet, going in and then leaving mad because they were told it was a two to three hour wait even though the restaurant just opened a few minutes before they arrived (and then the valet ($3 plus tip) having to shuffle cars around to get them their car back, delaying the next few cars trying to come in to relive the same pain). Requiring a credit card to reserve would still ensure the restaurant gets its money. Parking lot is very small but has valet. There also seems to be some kind of special waitlist (or maybe Yelp?), we were the first people there and yet they had sat 3/4ths of the resturant before they sat us. If you get their before 4:30pm-ish expect the parking lot to be closed and you’ll have to park on the street (good luck) or across the corner at the mall with the Super H inside (the mall also has a Somi Somi for great Taiyaki waffles for dessert). A well coordinated wait list plan would be to drop by the Yifang fruit tea a couple blocks down first, or send someone down while you wait, so you have some boba to ply the time with). Accessible, restrooms, valet parking (cash only), street parking (limited). Credit cards OK.
Visited for date night on a Sunday right when they opened and there was plenty of seating. The vibes of this place were immaculate. We got the Daedo and classic cut, beef tartare, galbi, yukaejang, cold noodles, and the pancake. Our set also came with steamed egg and kimchi fried rice. The food was fantastic and the workers cook the meat on a cast iron skillet which was really unique. They even use a thermometer to ensure the temperature of the grill is optimal. Fav items: -cap was def the best cut -beef tartare is a must!! -the crispy barley on the fried rice was very unique and tasty We had so much food leftover that made for a solid lunch/dinner the next day. The workers were incredibly nice. And by the time we finished, the restaurant got pretty crowded so I recommend going early if you don’t have a reservation. Can’t wait to be back!
I love that their menu is simple. It's always a red flag when a place has 100 things on the menu. We waited around 45min on a busy Friday night which is quick compared to other places in ktown. Ordered the ribeye, bulgogi/brisket I forget which, porridge, and fried rice. It was cooked very well by the server. I love how they have an elevated spot for the meat after it's done cooking so it doesnt get burnt (a common problem at many kbbq places). Decor has a clean vibe. Well lit. Didnt feel like Michelin level but kinda close. Parking was easy with valet but I think we got the last spot so it might not always be available. Service overall was good. Didnt have to wait long to get things. The ribeye was the best I've had... tender and juicy and tasted good with the seasonings offered. The porridge and fried rice were good as well. I would like if they served a little more banchan. Overall, I am starring this place for the future. Pretty good option especially when the wait at other places are too long.
One of the best experiences I had at a Korean BBQ restaurants. Daedo steak house offered exceptional quality meats, drinks and dining experience. Our table server named GUN cooked the meats to the perfection, provided great dining experience and was very kind. Also, the head server Juno was very polite and attentive to our table all night. After grilling, we had meat lovers soy bean stew, which I thought was the best soy bean stew ever. This place is unlike any other kbbq spots in ktown. The place offered great dining atmosphere and service. I would definitely recommend to others and will return soon~
Very clean nice restaurant. Everytime I had dinner here all the food I order is amazing and top quality. Highly recommend for people looking for a premium korean steakhouse experience. Great service too. One of my favorite steakhouses to go to in LA.^^
My families new go to spot for kbbq! Our toddler loves eating here because they provide cute stainless steel kid sized dining wear for him. They are thoughtful and bring him lukewarm soup and rice immediately too! The meat and banchan are all solid and extremely fresh. Best steamed egg in town. And I get their doenjjang jjigae everytime. Not to mention at the end they give you a delicious semisweet soft serve that my whole family finishes despite how full and happy we are. Ty daedo!!
My rating is 4.5 stars. The place is fabulous. Apparently all KBBQ places are first come first served, even the Uber fancy ones. Which is exactly what this is. Super high end. Posh. Beautiful interior. Good and service were both amazing. Above average wine list. A true gem of a dining experience.
Best new kbbq spot in LA. The quality of the meat is superb. It’s a simple menu but what they have is excellent. The thinly shaved beef is my favorite. We ordered two more of those after we had one. Their sauces are all great. They have a black one that’s slightly sweet and a red shrimp one. I’m a weirdo and like to mix them. Definitely get the fried rice with the egg on top. S/o to Eric for shaping it into a heart a la Benihana style. We ended the meal with their lightly sweet soft serve - YUM. Perfect way to end the night. The smoke is ventilated out from the sides of the cooker so you don’t leave smelling like smoke. Definitely going to be my go-to kbbq spot before a night out on the town.
Chic KBBQ place in Koreatown, LA. This isn’t the regular all you can eat spot. They serve carefully selected and skillfully prepared cuts of steak that ooze quality in the first bite. We got the Daedo cut and the Classic Korean cut (akin to Bulgogi) accompanied by Daedo Yukaejang (spicy soup). Interiors have the upscale vibe and they got valet parking for $4 which was an unbelievable deal compared to Chicago downtown where we came from.
Wonderful KBBQ. Unlike the many flavorless all you can eat meat fests, Daedo Sikdang has perfectly seasoned meat in an upscale environment that was a refreshing break from K-Towns party first atmosphere. Great food, great sides, definitely recommend trying while the line is short for now.
Omg. After Daedo started popping up in my friends ig stories I’ve been dying to try them but every time I came it wait was crazy!!! So- I made a plan: grab my friends and told them… “EARLY SUNDAY DINNER BECAUSE WERE OLD NOW!” 😂 Just kidding- I told them Daedo opens at 5 so let’s get there at 445 because I really want to try this place. It was confusing- there was a line already before 5pm… and it wasn’t until a Korean ajusshi who said… this is a fake line you have to check in with the hostess- that we went and put our names down and were told it was a 50 min wait (at 450pm). So we went off to hmart and daiso… when we suddenly got notified our table was ready.. at 515!!! HOOORAAAAAY! Food. Menu is small. If you can’t navigate it then I don’t know how you’ve navigated any Korean bbqs or well ANY ASIAN RESTAURANTS. We got: 1x Daedo cut 2x daedo special 1 x large yolmu cold noodle 1 x kkakdooki fried rice (add rice puff and egg) 1x denjang porridge Portion size this was perfect for the 4 of us (3 girls 1 guy) we could skip the porridge, in fact I would say if you want to skip anything on the menu.. skip the porridge. Service. The service was on point. Maybe because we were the first round, our server lady (pretty) only had us and another table so she was on top of our meat. I think when the restaurant filled up she disappeared- BUT other waitstaff and servers did step in to flip the meat and check on us. ESPECIALLY THE SERVER WHO CAME TO SEE OUR GRILL… (he was the cute ajusshi who kept trying to relight our grill, it was turning off randomly and hard to light) so with the bokumbap at the end… he came twice and eventually just stayed and made our fried rice for us!! He was so nice he even gave us extra rice cracker to eat with the milk ice cream omg (it was so good) I find out later.. this inconspicuous ajusshi was the president of daedo Korea.. 😂😂😂 he was the nicest server… (with a nice watch which I noticed and thought it was strange to be cooking with a nice watch..) Drinks. I had a bottle of beer- they’re not individual sized theyre the bigger bottles lol oops. (I shared because sharing is caring and I’m also not down for so much liquid carbs) Got a cass to wash down everything. They didn’t have any of their cocktails today 🤷🏻♀️ and I did see some interesting drinks other tables were having…fancy soju I think! Verdict? MY NEW GO TO SPOT FOR KOREAN BBQ! I’ll drag any and all of my friends here!
I waited months maybe a year since their signage went up for this place to open. I live a black away and I don’t have to drive through ktown traffic to get to other kbbq joints. They serve well Certified Angus Beef which I find at Gelsons or Staters. They said they bring their kimchi from Korea and it definitely is distinguishably different from texture and flavor. One thing my wife said when we got home that I didn’t even realize was she didn’t smell like kbbq smoke. If any of you are into high end kbbq, this is going to be the staple to your list. Definitely recommend it!!
One of the best K-BBQ restaurants. My first impression this place is luxury, fantastic and huge. All kinds of meat you can select and eat. Staffs were friendly and service was so nice. They know how to cook and have very professional skill. If you are looking for KBBQ, i highly recommend going this nice place.
Rose and Brian served us, it was our first time ever trying Korean BBQ they were so helpful and had excellent recommendations. The meat was insanely tender and sweet and spicy cold noodles were amazing. We had soju and cocktails and love love loved it!!! can’t recommend this place enough
Went here with my wife on for her b-day. It was one of the best meats we had in a long time and without a doubt a doubt the best kkaduki fried rice I had in my whole life. my thanks to our server martin for the wonderful service. - its open only at night - valet is $5 - they made the dining area large enough that its not really loud or noisy for the dining guest.
Super high quality food and very attentive service. I come here often with my family and it’s always consistently great!
This is not your average Kbbq place. This ranks high up with the other more expensive quality meat establishments in Ktown like Chosun Galbi and Jeon Yeok Jeom. The food is pricy but oh so worth it. The Daedo Cut is aged and delicious and the Classic thinly cut marinated beef is prime and divine. It is reminiscent of a Bulgogi but the flavors are richer, more defined and full of umami. The Yukaejung was flavorful with a hint of spiciness. We were so full that we opted out of the ending fried rice or porridge but will have to try it next time. Our server Mirae was excellent and helpful. She moved quick and precise around all her tables(as they cook the meat for you here) making sure everything was well attended and cooked properly to our specifications(medium rare please!). The drinks were tasty. The artisanal soju was delightful. Our first choice was sold out but the second one(2nd most expensive) was like an elevated baeksoju and would definitely recommend. Their banana based cocktails were a pleasant surprise as I don't normally have banana cocktails, but these were delicious(only 2 so far). The side dishes and the mulkimchi were delicious though comparatively sparse from other AYCE places, but the quality was outstanding as they are flown in from Koreas especially for this restaurant. We ended our meal with a complimentary palate cleanser of milk frozen yogurt accompanied by a rice crisp. Simple and delicious. The valet parking is $3 and a great reprieve from having to search for street parking in the busy streets of Ktown proper. This place will not be for many. If you are not into steak or different cuts of meat, this place will seem average. If you frequent AYCE joints looking for that burst out of your pants feeling, this place is not for you and will seem not worth it. However I encourage everyone to try it and to see if you can note the difference in quality which amounts to huge flavor, tenderness, umami and overall enjoyment. This place does get busy but rightfully so. I'm loving the vibe, the service and the food. If you enjoy high quality meats that are procured and aged with precision and care, then Daedo Sikdang must be on your list of best Kbbq places. It certainly is on mine.
The place is well-kept, and clean. We went in a bit early than the dinner rush hour, so there was no wait. After we ordered, the waiter cooked our meal for us at the table. It was bit pricey, but everything was top quality and very delicious. Definitely would visit again.
Prime Angus Perfection & Bold Korean Flavors — Daedo Sikdang Brings Seoul’s Finest Steak to LA 🔥 From the moment the sizzling ribeye hits your table, you know you’re in for something extraordinary. With a rich heritage from Seoul since 1964, this upscale Korean steakhouse has perfected the art of showcasing Certified Angus Beef® Prime cuts — delivering flavor, tenderness, and quality that’s second to none. We indulged in the Daedo Cut (8oz) — ribeye roll, ribeye cap, and ribeye strip — each one offering its own bold personality. The ribeye roll was luxuriously tender and buttery, the ribeye cap delivered an explosion of rich, beefy intensity, and the ribeye strip had that deep, satisfying flavor steak lovers live for. The sides elevated the experience — the kimchi fried rice was savory and addictive, while the cold noodles provided a refreshing contrast to the richness of the meat. Add to that a sleek bar stocked with luxury wines and a private karaoke room for an exclusive twist, and you have a dining experience that’s as refined as it is unforgettable. From the immaculate interiors to the unmatched quality of its Prime Angus cuts, Daedo Sikdang delivers the bold flavors and elevated atmosphere that keep you coming back.
Meat and in general, portion sizes were a bit small, but the quality, service and vibes were great. Loved the interior. Free ice cream dessert
Daedo is pure class. This is perhaps the classiest way to enjoy Korean BBQ. Just snooty enough so that you can expect more and impress your date, but not to come across awkward. It is just enough class that you know the experience is special all throughout but also you don't lose the essence of grilling meat fresh in front of you. And most importantly, Daedo absolutely paves its own way compared to high end yakiniku joints. Daedo is unapologetically Korean. And that's how we like it. It is Korean BBQ done in a way with proper form, effort, and dedication to excellence. Nothing is skimped throughout. The quality of meat is excellent. Every side banchan is great. It is laid out well and thoughtful. And every dish you order has been prepared well. Be ready to grill meat. You'll be doing this on a proper cast iron surface heated to the right temperature with beef fat and garlic as the oil. Whatever cut you get, it's great. Our meat was soft, buttery, and just right (sometimes wagyu can be too buttery). The kakdugi fried rice was a masterpiece. This one isn't easy to get right given that you have to fry the diced turnips just right. And it was well prepared in a wide skillet, with just enough crunch rice bits on the surface. The beef consomme was also great. No frills. No pretention. Just a good bowl of soup with many chunks of meat. And yes, do not forget the milk soft serve. I'd pay $10 just for that but they give it to you for free. Daedo really takes Korean BBQ to the next level and starts to touch the heels of fine dining. Prices are high but not exorbitant. No matter what you order, you'll leave happy. We will absolutely return.
Great spot for dinner- relaxing and fun experience ! The food and service were both solid. We made a reservation on OpenTable, which got us seated right on time, and the valet parking right outside was super convenient. The meat quality/selection was good, and we really enjoyed the fried rice — but the cold noodles were next level! Service was friendly and welcoming. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely come back.
This is the perfect restaurant for date and or group party’ it’s beautiful restaurant and they have this cool karaoke lounge attached that is incredible and perfect for after dinner celebration! Now to the food it was really good!! I was in love with the need tartare it was probably one of the best I have ever had! We also ordered: Daedo cut nice cut of meat and with the dips yes please! Kkakdooki rice I really loved it was like a tomato base rice with lil crispy pieces Yukjeon this was unique but flavorful gave me like a scallion pancake but sweeter in a way Bulgogi was delish and not over marinated Service was friendly and on top of it!
Valet parking was $5, which is reasonable I believe. The menu is not big but the quality of the meat, service, ambience, and decoration are all great! It’s more like a high end kbbq place. I like the beef stew a lot! And the ice cream at the end is a must try!
This restaurant excels in quality of dishes, drinks and atmosphere. I love that the menu is not overwhelming so it's easy to make a choice. The meat quality was great, we ended up ordering Daedo Cut and Classic Korean Cut and Kkakdooki Fried Rice, it was a lot of food but we managed to some how stuff ourselves and finish because it was so good. You can't go wrong with your choice, even though I am not a huge fan of thinly sliced beef, I really enjoyed the presentation, quality and taste of the meat along with their sauces. The service was absolutely top! Very much like what I am used to from KBBQ restaurants here in NYC. We had a subpar experience at another-more expensive-KBBQ restaurant in LA the day before and it was completely different experience as soon as we walked in to Daedo, it was soooo refreshing. I really commend the staff and managers for creating a team that looks out for one another and who work hard to please all the guests. They must have amazing communication skills amongst each other and it shows! The cocktails were delicious as well! Suited for my personal style I guess because the drinks felt light going down, gave a fresh sense and tasted great. I will definitely be back if I am in LA and hopefully I can try other dishes from their menu.
I’d never been to a KBBQ place where they cook for you. I was expecting to do everything but was glad I didn’t have to worry about screwing up the meats. Service was efficient and the place is bustling. I suck at portions so this is a nice Korean BBQ option that won’t put me into a meat coma.
Daedo Sikdang is a meat favors' restaurant, especially prime beef. I ordered that one prime steak for my partner and Kkakdooki fried rice and Yolmu cold noodle for me because I'm vegetarian. Foods was delicious, but I don't have that many choices. The meat refrigerator was well designed beyond the bar.

I visited this restaurant for the first time after hearing it's famous in Korea, and I absolutely loved it. The atmosphere was stylish and clean, making it a great place to have meaningful conversations with someone important. The brass tableware was a nice touch too. The quality of the meat was excellent, and the staff kindly grilled and cut everything for us, which made the experience even more comfortable. The ice cream served at the end was the perfect finish truly amazing! I highly recommend this place for special occasions or meaningful gatherings. I also love that you can enjoy a drink at the bar while waiting for your friends. I'll definitely be coming back again.
Came here with my family for KBBQ and had a great experience overall. The restaurant is super clean and nicely designed. The host was so friendly, and the servers were really attentive. The Daedo set was delicious, but the Galbi set was a bit underwhelming. I do wish they offered more banchan like other KBBQ spots, but the quality of the meat and service definitely made up for it. We'd come back again for the Daedo set. This is the place to sit down relax and have a nice meal and not having to cook it yourself vs other popular KBBQ restaurants. Valet parking is $5.

A more modern esthetic/setting with great food and service for each table. A must go for any Kbbq lover - specializing in great quality Prime Beef variety. Try their unique Sujo options. A 4.5+ rating compared to others in the area!
I have been wanting to try this restaurant since it opened almost year ago. I say it is step up from your typical korean bbq restaurant. Parking is at premium but they have valet and it's free just don't forget to tip them. Inside is pretty clean and modern look also wide open. Yes it can be little noisy but acceptable. Meat itself was better than average with decent marbling but to me it was little on the lean side. Believe they do their own wet aging. Menu is pretty limited but with me it was fine and there was no typical banchan as you would normally find in korean restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised but didn't miss it. Quantity of the meat was pretty good also. We finished the meal with cold noodles which was very good and bean paste porridge which was good. Top it off service was very good and very attentive . Even the dessert was great idea. Finally house wine is lot better than expected and serving portions were good too. Even thought I have to drive from OC to LA it definitely worth it and bill was not bad. 2 hungry male for $250 include 2 draft beer and 2 glass of wine plus tip is good. Will definitely come back.
The service was good. Very clean and spacious place. I was glad I didn't end up smelling like heavy Korean bbq smoke afterwards. They cook for you. Your server is there pretty much the whole time they're cooking for you so It's easy to ask for more of anything. The menu is minimal but I think you get quality over quantity. Price can be a bit high (in my opinion) but you are getting good cuts of meat and they are doing the cooking for you, which is great so you can focuz more on eating and convo instead of 1 or 2 pple from your part constantly concerned about overcooking or undercooking the meet. Our guy was very vigilant so everything was cooked perfectly. Stove seems small and has a slow start but once the chunks of fat melt and garlic are done cooking, which can feel like FOREVER when you're hungry, I was surprised at how everything else cooked pretty quickly. They had a spicy beef noodle dish that was very herb/earthy forward (not what we were expecting). And another vegetable dish that I THINK our server said was kimchi, but it consisted of a dark, leafy veg, stems included with no pepper flakes and reminded me a bit of undercooked mustard greens...or maybe collard greens? I personally didn't care for that dish or the spicy beef noodles, which barely had any noodles in it for a noodle dish. The meats were the Best and there's an egg dish that was so good I wish we had ordered a 2nd. You're given a plate of what looks like shredded green onion salad which I though would be too pungent but you actually don't get that at all when you eat it with the meats. Their sauces were different from what I was used to. I wish we had asked or the server could've introduced how to best use/pair the sauces. And don't expect ANY of the many differrnt variety of side dishes you're accustomed to at most other kbbq places, which may be why it'ss named a "steak house"; a more upscale-sounding title. Lastly, their free vanilla ice cream afterward was very generous, refreshing, and came with what tasted like either a toasted rice cracker or a flattened, toasted popcorn.
The food here is great. The valet is $4 and the cocktails and meat quality was also good. Subtracting a star for poor service. The couple people cooking our meat we’re going so fast and it took forever to get water refills and the check.
So I checked their website and called ahead to just to ask about any COVID restrictions and all .. you know to be safe if there were any changes and nothing just wear a mask. They didn't have option to make a reservation which is why I'm only giving this 4 stars. Waited about an hour to get seated which I didn't mind but I think it would have been easier if they had option to make a reservation. The food was good too. It seemed they were a little understaffed but that's understandable seeing as they have only been open a little over two months or so and with COVID and all I know it has been a struggle for a lot of companies. The steak though was so soft and it just melted in your mouth!! Afterwards we got some of their ice cream and wow so creamy and delicious and not overwhelmingly sweet. Perfect amount of sweetness! Great place can't wait to go again!!
Recently checked out Daedo Sikdang — the vibes are definitely upscale. They’ve nailed the presentation and aesthetic: open kitchen view, super high ceilings, and tons of natural light. Parking is valet-only and somewhat limited, but there are a few neighborhood spots nearby if you’re lucky. I went around 6 PM on a Wednesday with a reservation, and it wasn’t crowded at all — you could probably walk in without one. Since it was my first time, I wanted to try a little of everything. We each got the Daedo Cut, which includes Certified Angus Beef: ribeye roll, ribeye cap, and ribeye strip. We also tried the galbi, which was probably my favorite — super flavorful and perfectly marinated. One thing I really appreciated is that they cook everything for you, so no need to stress if you’re new to KBBQ. Everything came out perfectly. They don’t serve a ton of banchan, but they’re known for their kkakdugi (cubed spicy radish — basically kimchi’s cousin), and it was solid. The steamed egg was fluffy and definitely recommendable. My personal favorite was the yolmu cold noodle — the cold broth is the perfect refreshing finish after all the grilled meat. Overall, definitely worth trying for the experience and quality, though I wouldn’t say it’s a “must” or life-changing. Still, a great spot if you’re looking for a clean, elevated KBBQ night.
Korean steakhouse where you order a la carte and they cook the meat for you. Came here with three other friends to celebrate our friend obtaining her doctorate. Reservations accepted. We had two orders of the special which had the three cuts of meat, the cold noodles, and the kimchi fried rice. At the end of the meal, they gave us a small milk soft service with a rice cake adorning the top. Our waiter was nice and polite. We sat down to the banchan and sauces already set out. There were also whole green onions that were marinated in some sort of chili sauce. There were marinated radishes on the table as well. Metered street parking or you can try your luck in the residential neighborhood. Credit cards accepted. Restrooms are available in the back left hand side of the restaurant. It is good for big groups.
I really liked the vibe and aesthetic of the restaurant and the service was good. Food and meat quality was really great too. The drinks are superb! And the kkakdooki fried rice was so delicious. I think I just prefer the wider variety of banchan you usually get at other korean bbq restaurants.
The meat is really good… but if I’m being completely honest with myself, I prob won’t be coming here again, or at least not for a while. The price of meat is top notch, so it’s expensive, while not having the large portions you’d be used to if you’re going to AYCE. The grills are designed to suck in air from the sides, so it’s nice that the smoke doesn’t go in the air and your clothes smell like KBBQ. I personally liked Daedo special cut the best. But cons: pricey for portion, long lines, and terrible parking.
One of the fanciest kbbq places in ktown, but you pay the price. I thought it was weird they make you wait 15 min for table even if the restaurant is empty, but I think it's to make you have to get a drink at the bar. Luckily the bartender is really sweet. Meat was great, radish kimchi was excellent, but otherwise not many banchan. Complimentary ice cream at the end was tasty.
Beautiful interior and still has the nightclub charm of its hay day. The cocktails were so delicious and the bartender was so accommodating and informative. The meat was good but a lot heavier and richer than I had expected- which is not a bad thing! Parking was a bit rough.
Recommend: The rib cap, the classic korean cut, and the soup they gave my toddler. Dont recommend: the omelet and the beef consomme. Needs work: The fried rice portion was not enough, though it was tasty. Staff should clear table and plates before serving dessert. It is a clean, fresh milk yogurt and feels gross to eat at a messy grill full of dirty plates. Did not try tho curious: the G Dragon cocktail
Came for lunch craving kbbq. But disapppointingly, they only serve it for dinner. They didn't even have a sign on the front about it. Just found out when we sat down. We were already there so decided to stay. They have a limited lunch menu of soups, noodles, and 1 galbi for an exorbitant $53. Caved in got the galbi as we were craving meat and the spicy cold noodle. The meat was very tender and tasty. The spicy cold noodle was also good. I was disappointed at only 2 banchans even though they tasted good. The free ice cream was quite good. Came in at 1:30 p.m., and it was virtually empty. The lady servicing us was very nice. Definitely an upscale kbbq. There is a karaoke lounge connected to it. Might be back to try the kbbq at night.
Making a reservation online was quick and easy. Got seated right away upon arrival, and there is a valet parking right outside the restaurant which is always convenient. The quality of meat is definitely great but a star was deducted due to the limited menu options. The kkakdoogi fried rice was good but nothing special. Cold noodle was amazing though! Service was alright - we had to flag down the servers whenever we needed something. They came by to cook the meats and quickly went to other tables so the service felt a bit rushed overall.
Food quality was amazing. Loved the cold noodles. Actually sour and not too sweet. The soft serve at the end was soooo good. Only thing is I wish they had more side dishes. It was also awkward with the way the table was set up to get the dishes.

The food was really good, but not worth the price and the menu for meat is really limited. They also give almost no banchan and don't offer the traditional smaller dishes like steamed egg. The quality of the meat was great and service was lovely, but I'd recommend trying a more traditional restaurant.
It was very hyped up by my Korean gf. We went together with her friend from out of town. Felt like it was decent in terms of beef but a bit pricey for what you get. The service was good and the place was clean, but I don't think the beef was anything to shake a stick at. What I was told is that the chain in Korea was pretty legit. I think there are way better Korean BBq places here.
I was so excited to visit the restaurant since my favorite Korean BBQ restaurant, Dong Il Jang was gone. We ordered Daedo cut, thin sliced marinated meat, yeol mu guksoo, and beef consommé etc. Overall food was decent but the thin marinated meat was tough. My 8 year old almost choked due to the toughness of the meat which I found very surprising. I expect a little better quality for the price of the dish. The lady in front didn’t know how to properly greet customers in line. She should’ve informed the customers who are waiting outside the door that there was a waitlist. The waiters were nice but overall training seems to be inconsistent. Maybe my expectations were too high or the restaurant is over hyped, either way, I honestly thought it was just ok…
Food is good, high quality meat you can taste. It's nice they serve ice cream at the end. Not sure I'd come back. Service is horrible, for what you're paying they should have better service.
Service was great, and aesthetic of the location is bright and inviting unlike some other kbbq spots. You also get complimentary ice cream 🍦. But I felt the main food was lacking for the price point. But the sauces are excellent 👌. If you're here to just enjoy company and are willing to spend. I would say great visit, but otherwise it was an okay one time visit for me.
If you love ribeye, you’re in for a treat. This place has exceptional beef with richness that leaves you doubly full. Simple, limited menu. Very busy. The service leaves a bit to be desired - servers drop your dishes and hurriedly cook the precious beef, and vanish before you can order a drink. It’s a find your own water refill kind of spot. For beef at $6.87 an ounce, I expect a bit better. But it’s THAT good, and they know it. 🙃
Great meat, soon tofu, kimchi cold noodle, and atmosphere. Not sure I would return simply because the service was so damn unfriendly, and the limited banchan was a joke for their prices. However, I did appreciate the ice cream at the end. The waiting lounge was super posh and spacious, complete with bar and dartboard.
My family and I had reservations for my birthday dinner here as we enjoy dining at Daedo for special occasions. My family had a great birthday dinner here a few months ago for another family member so we expected the same quality of service but we were disappointed with our waiter, River, and his unwelcoming attitude, especially with elder Korean members of this community seated at our table. I don’t normally write negative reviews and I understand not everyone has a good day at work, but for a restaurant of this caliber of fine dining, this type of interaction was unacceptable and very disappointing. I’ve only taken down 2 stars because our second waiter (sorry I didn’t catch his name) made up for his coworker’s lack of tact with his own exemplary service. Food was great tho, it’s a shame that River’s poor attitude towards us took away from the exceptional service Daedo is known for.
Famous Korean steakhouse from Seoul. Very nicely designed interior space with full bar and wine. Menu is pretty tight and they specialize and only serve Angus prime dry aged ribeye. Overall, not the best KBBQ in LA, definitely not my favorite amongst the premium ones here. Interesting experience though, I’d say it’s a bucket list place worthy of trying once. Meat: Daedo cut has roll, cap, and strip from ribeye. Beef was pretty good, but not that amazing tbh. Despite being dry aged, it wasn’t that beefy. Cooked in cast iron and doneness was relatively on point. Bugolgi was kind of disappointing. Cooked separately in kitchen and brought over. Little overdone, didn’t seem that fresh or hot, marinade could’ve been seasoned a tad more. Thinly sliced ribeye was pretty good. Sides: fried rice was pretty solid, nice crunch from crispy rice and kimchi puffs added, cold noodles were pretty good too liked the beef omelette jeon too, was like a beef Japanese okonomiyaki Banchan: spicy scallion greens, spicy pickled radish, wedge of cabbage? Overall pretty small, weak selection, especially the wedge. Drinks: haeundae sunset was refreshing and tasty, makkegolli (Korean rice wine) and grapefruit syrup Yangchon Chungju soju was interesting, kind of funky, umami savory, and taste/smells almost like cooking sake, was also recommended because it was 30% off Also got some free cereal chips as a gift, crispy but very bland

Never Again. I really wanted to love and support this Korean restaurant. Giving 2 stars for the meat, but the staff and service were terrible. Side dishes and sauces didn’t impress. No matter how good your food is, if the customers are not treated well, they will most definitely never come back. I went many weeks ago, so hopefully they trained their staff better now. Pros The ambience. Spacious, clean, well put together. Meat was really good. Ribeye roll is juicy and tender. Special cut was more tough and bland than expected Cons So unwelcoming and rude. The servers did not make eye contact. Very discouraging to ask questions. Service was slow for a Monday night with not many tables occupied. The server grilling meat for us lacked knowledge of which meat cut was being grilled Part of what makes this restaurant "Korean" is the additional side elements of the menu but the sauces seemed unnecessary to fully enjoy the steak. Our table only liked salt and pepper. Not sure what happened with the kimchi.. taste was off. Yolmoo cold noodles were too bland and I think I had way too high expectations for Kkakdooki fried rice. I wish it was a bit drier/more cooked.
Before I say anything this is soley my opinion: 1. The meat quality is ok.. you can find that same quality on USDA Choice meat. I didn't find they were USDA Prime quality. I wasn't quite impressed with marbling of cap steak. They were still tender but lack of flavor. Other cut was about the same level. 2. Cocktail 🍸 🍹: Don't waste your money in cocktails here. They are not worth $17/$18.. 3. Fried rice: they sort of come out pre-made from the kitchen and reheating it in front of you.. In Seoul they actually use the same pan that meat was grilled on and that's where all the flavor is and prepare it from the scratch. Anyways Fried rice was descent. 4. Service is prompt and server is knowledgeable and knows how to grill. They seem properly trained. Service alone I would give 5 stars.. The Daedo style in Seoul is more retro and low key but they seem to try to make it more upscale here in L.A. If you wanna go check out clean , upscale vibe K BBQ this would be the place for you. But if you're going there to expect to be blown away by their quality of meat..then don't even bother going. There are plenty other K BBQ places in K town that you will be more impressed with their meat.
Really disappointed after last nights dinner. Meat was pretty good but the fried rice was mediocre and tasted a bit off. The main issue was with the service. We waited at the table for a good 10 minutes until someone came to take our order. And mind you, several servers kept walking by. And one of the two servers we had - I think his name was James? He had terrible manners and customer service. First and foremost, he didn’t even know they had prosecco on their drink menu. Kept doubting me and then asked the bartender and later said they had them and brought them over. Secondly, he insisted it was MANDATORY to buy two types of meat. I thought this was odd because it said that no where on the menu but I obliged. He also had no manners. He literally threw a dish on our table and was just kind of aggressive/rude. Lastly, he did not plate the cold noodles we got. I saw another server plating them on the bowls for another customer. We tipped 20% and just got out of there. He honestly deserved none. Not coming back here next time I’m in LA. I mainly only dine in at “higher-end” places and this was not it.
Last year when I went there the food and service was really good, but this time when I went back the meat was too tough and the meat quality was bad. I wanted to order prime ribeye but they said the prime ribeye is for dinner only, so I ordered 2 servings of daedo galbi for $53 each and ordered denjang stew separately, but only one serving of rice was served also they said they wouldn't give me vegetable salad because it's lunch time. I don't think I'll go back. However, the server was kind and friendly.
Food was alright but service was absolutely horrible. We had a 5pm reservation. They didn't seat us until 5:20pm so we approached the hostess several times. She commented that they were getting the tables ready even though we had made reservation well in advance. Their attitude was dismissive and casual. Once we were seated, the server lady had a very negative attitude. When we asked for water she sarcastically scoffed asking whether we wanted hot or cold water. Throughout the whole serving experience, she gave us attitude. When we asked for certain things, she had a sarcastic throughout most of the dinner. The only person who was professional was the lady at the bar. Other than her, the service was so poor we will not be returning in spite of the good food.
Wasted an hour driving here just to learn the hours on Google won’t apply until November. Why list them early and mislead customers? Also, no one picks up the phone.
Ordered a delivery. I highly doubted the food here was precooked. It does not make sense that the food sealed in the box. And its taste was awful.

I am beyond disappointed! What happened Daedo??? You used to be incredible, but everything has changed and gone completely down hill!!! For starters, they got rid of their special rice that they used to make right in front of you - now it’s served from the back kitchen, cold, tasteless and not special at all. Secondly, they got rid of their marinated bulgogi that they used to make right in front of you - again, now it comes from the back kitchen, cold, tough and not good at all! Thirdly, the other cuts of meat did not have the wow factor they used to have and the staff was not friendly or helpful at all. Terrible service and sub-par food. This place used to be pure gold and now it’s such a disappointment! Please please please return back to the way it was! I used to live for this place. Sooooo sad!!!
One of the worst customer service I’ve ever encountered. For such price, our server did not say a single word or introduce the meat. We chose to went on Christmas Eve dinner to have a good time, but we ended up having one of the worst dining experience.
Went last night for an engagement party, and it was chaos. They let a bartender so on break in the middle of service and never saw them come back. Food orders kept getting confused, no one new what was there’s. Poor management, poor service. Poor food. Really breaks my heart to write this.
The good: 1. The atomsphere is great 2. Ice cream was great. Few improvement needed: 1. Glass was dirty 2. Plastic glass is cheap 3. Daedo cut is tough and dry 4. Chipped dish 5. The server while trying to light the fire and started touching with bare hand where they were going to cook the food. On the food: 1. Daedo cut was dry what was supposed to be the best meat option they had. 2. Marinated Galbi had a good flavor but the meat was oily and burnt due to the thinness of the meat. Dissapointing as its not the cheapest place to dine. You could definitely find a better value somewhere else.
I really like this restaurant and the food is always delicious. I told a friend of mine to meet me there for dinner last night as he loves KBBQ. He drove from West L.A. and got there at 9:20PM (restaurant closes at 11PM). While almost at the restaurant, my friend called me and said we need to order right away as the manager told him he wants to close early. When I arrived the manager repeated with attitude that we need to order immediately. The restaurant was almost empty so he just wanted to go home. The rushing hostile attitude went on the entire meal. He dropped off the bill before we had a chance to properly finish the meal and kept walking back and forth checking if the payment was made. Once he brought back the CC receipt, he said they need to close (pretty much kicking us out). This was at 10:30 which is 30 minutes before the advertised closing time. We rushed to get up to leave and when walked to the restroom before leaving the manager continued his unwelcoming behavior with a very unpleasant stare. That was the point that I had to let him know how horrible of an experience he created for us. Maybe there is a reason the restaurant is empty on a Thursday night? This place used to have a 1-2 hour wait when I first started visiting. The food is always amazing but there are plenty of places that have great food as well as great hospitality and attitude where you don't feel humiliated and disrespected. Completely unnecessary behavior which is a shame given that this was my favorite KBBQ in L.A.
