Opinions de Ichijiku Sushi Los Angeles
I came to Ichijiku Sushi to capitalize on the DineLA deal, which - priced at $55 - included a beverage (Hazy IPA), miso soup, edamame, yellowtail & jalapeno sashimi (3), spicy tuna on crispy rice (2), 6 nigiri comprising of bluefin tuna, yellowtail, salmon, branzino with yuzu kosho, albacore with house ponzu, and bluefin chutoro, two hand rolls (I chose yellowtail habanero and salmon ground sesame seed), and green tea mochi ice cream to close out. It was an amazing meal, with each course bringing serious value through well-sourced ingredients & fish. The ambiance is conducive for sushi devouring with excellent conversations. And at $55, this was amazing. They also have a competitive happy hour that runs from 2-5pm daily, and I definitely want to check that out soon. Also big shout-out to Emi! She's from Hyogo and was very kind :)
This neighborhood sushi bar is a great spot for grabbing drink and affordable and interesting bites. I love coming here for their happy hour on the weekends to grab a bento box set or tuna crispy rice as a snack. They have a nice patio in the back as well!
Great happy hour, great hand rolls. Can’t go wrong with the crispy rice and spicy tuna. 🔥
This place took me by surprise, it is absolutely delicious. I would go here often if I lived near.
Sushi is delicious! The fish is so fresh it just melts in your mouth.

Great food! Had the deluxe combo for two. The selection of rolls and nigiri were spot on and tasty! My only complaints: The oolong cold tea came from a can and tasted like metal. It would be nice if it were over ice in a glass. The edamame was chilled. It would be amazing steamed. Everything else was delicious! First time here! Will be coming here more often. Thanks!
amazing food! the best sushi in houston.. truly just like tokyo! impressive.. please consider opening another location close to rice village.. keep up the amazing sushi thanks
Excellent sushi, a little more modern style sushi bar. Highly recommended. It will definitely hit the spot.
Great sushi and great vibes. Get the yellow tail habanero hand roll.
Decided to check this place out after hearing a few positive reviews and am super glad I did! My wife and I split the Sushi box for two and added a few of the vegan rolls to try out. Everything was very fresh and delicious. Prices could be considered medium to high for a neighborhood sushi place, but for the quality of product we received I think it was very fairly priced. It’s important to know that this isn’t the kind of place where you’re going to get insane rolls with a lot of extraneous toppings. I think of that as novelty sushi, and honestly sometimes I love it. But usually with sushi I am looking for simpler things executed very well. That’s the focus at Ichijiku. If you don’t care about that too much then you may feel the prices here are too high. But for people that do appreciate it, this is a great addition to the neighborhood.
I giggled I laughed the fish was perfect juicy spicy gooey oozed exploded umamied did all the things, I went alone w a book but the food was too distracting, got the delux special for one which is the best 50$ I have spent this year, there was a cute girl who was charmingly spilling roe between the pages of her book but the food was too demanding for chat Somebody in years with open a book to circular orange stains and never know how much I smiled at fish.
I am SO excited that there is a new restaurant in Highland Park and even more so that it is SUSHI! It looks so super cute and I give them SO many props for opening up during a pandemic. So happy to have them as a neighbor for my home and business! Pricing looks great and they have vegan rolls as well! SO EXCITED!
Really good place for a quick date night dinner. Food settles really light and love the table settings. Great place to have conversation and enjoy some delicious sushi. Been here a few times. Easy to order and even easier to keep ordering lol. will be coming back soon

The fish is so fresh, the service so welcoming and warm.. I live in the neighborhood and my kids love to come here, and every meal is a home run. This place really knows how to be both neighborhood-friendly and fine-dining. 10/10 stars.

Last minute decision to grab a few rolls and we were happy to be able to try Ichijiku Sushi. No wait or line on a Tuesday night which meant we got great service as one of the few people in at that time. We tried the spicy tuna with crunchy rice, a yellowtail hand roll, salmon nigiri, and negitoro & scallion cut hand roll. Favorite was the negitoro hand roll, great quality and delicious, simple flavor. I wasn’t wow’ed by the yellowtail handroll and found the seaweed not very crunchy making each bite a little harder to chew. Fish quality was great though! Glad we got to try this smaller neighborhood joint.
The space was small but very nicely done, sleek. For the price I did expect better service but at least the flavors were all great. All four of us enjoyed our meals, expect $32 sushi for one but spending more to leave full. They forgot something that I ordered, and also forgot part of the bento box meal for my husband.
Good sushi but okay service. Great food but slightly let down by the lack of attention to detail across the service. Empty drinks, no chop sticks, no garnishes, no soy dish, etc.
sushi was excellent. the cut rolls and hand rolls are just ok

I’m genuinely surprised to see other people complain about the food quality cause this was some of the best sushi I’ve ever had! The fish is super fresh and just melts in your mouth. We had two kinds of sushi (salmon and albacore I think), three rolls, crispy rice, and miso soup. It was all incredible. Like some other people pointed out, each roll is only four pieces so it’s a little in the pricier side, but in my opinion it’s still pretty reasonable considering the superb quality of the food. I agree that the service wasn’t the best (hence the 4 stars instead of 5) but I’ve seen much worse. I will definitely go back!
Got the $80 deluxe combo for 2 people. The nigiri was amazing. The normal rolls were just okay. Felt like the price was high for the amount of food given. Nice patio space and friendly staff!

It’s fine. If you’re in the area and feel like sushi, it’s pretty good. The service was just acceptable and the outdoor patio seating area isn’t very nice. Sit inside, it had better atmosphere and maybe you’ll get better service. The set meal for two is a nice idea if you feel indecisive.
