Italian Express

I have stopped writing reviews for a long time but this place absolutely warranted a review so others can know. I was staying in the area for surgery and called the front desk and asked for a good pizza place with pasta - without hesitation they said Italian Express. Thank God I called. I wanted something delicious and it’s hard to know what’s going to be good in a new place. I ordered a large pepperoni pizza and the stuffed shells in pink sauce. WOW. I grew up on stuffed shells and these were just so spectacular. The pizza is really yummy too!! I was so so pleased. Thank you Italian Express for a wonderful meal!! If I ever find myself here again I will be 10 orders deep in stuffed shells lol

This place is really good. A hidden gem in Westwood Village. I would highly recommend sitting in the courtyard and sharing a large pizza and a side as a group, it's a great atmosphere and bang for buck. Pizza is thin crust, super cheesy, and wood fired - not American or Neopolitan style but just generally a great pizza. Friendly service too.

Great pizza, seems to come straight from Italy!

We just moved to LA and ordered takeaway from Italian Express Pizza for our first meal here to thank my parents for helping with the move. We ordered a small cheese pizza, spinach ravioli, an Italian salad, and a tiramisu for four of us to split. Couldn't have asked for a better first meal! We were all raving about everything and talking about how we couldn't wait to try more things next time. Thanks for a great memory for me and my family!

Ordered this as a late night craving on Postmates and was pleasantly surprised with the portion size and quality. I just went with something simple - penne Alfredo. Plenty of sauce that had a great fresh garlic flavor, definitely homemade. Two people could split this — I’ll easily have it for 2 meals! I do recommend getting bread as it did not come with any :)

My husband ordered a snack after his disappointing $50 steak dinner down the street. The meatballs were tasty, he had to order some garlic bread because he didn’t want to waste the sauce. The garlic bread was delicious, crust was the best. I was worried at first because there wasn’t anyone inside the restaurant, but service was great, we enjoyed ourselves, they made our night. We plan on going back on our next visit to UCLA ❤️

This place is amazing! Our film production had a huge order we needed placed and after calling around we finally found Italian Express Pizza. They were able to get the order filled so quickly and the pizza and salad tasted amazing too! Definitely try them out! Thank you for your amazing service and food.

Love this place. A little pricey, because I like to add things on, but the food is worth it. Best. Garlic. BREAD. Manager and all the workers really are always friendly and professional. The wait can be a little long at certain times, but again worth it for hot, fresh, delicious pasta, pizza, calzone, etc.

The food was delicious, we got the spicy penne (swapped for angel hair) and the fettuccine alfredo (swapped for angel hair) both with shrimp and crispy chicken. They make it fresh every order, when we got our food it was really hot. Really good food for the price, serving size fills you up. HIGHLY RECOMMEND the fettuccine alfredo with crispy chicken, its a literal 10/10. If anyone's seen the anime, Food Wars, thats what it felt like.

Had the rigatoni pasta and garlic bread at 2am. Most definitely some of the best pasta I’ve had and no it wasn’t from a night out or after the club. Service was great and the gentleman that took my order was nice. I definitely recommend this place.

Came on a Saturday and was surprised to see it completely empty. We decided to give it a try and were very pleasantly surprised. The service was very nice and the owner was super friendly! Our food was all delicious, I'll definitely be back!

We ordered from UberEats, and it came well packaged and still fresh. The meatballs and lasagna were both absolutely delicious. But the Mozzarella Sticks? Show stopper. These babies were fresh, gave the most beautiful cheese pull, and the breading was so yummy. We will definitely be returning.

Recommend the meat eater pizza, the calzone with sauce inside with meatballs, garlic and jalapenos, the garlic cheesy bread and any of their pastas. The lunch specials are worth it. Highly recommend this place to anyone that loves Italian.

The Best late night take away Italian restaurant I have experienced. I tried their Rigatoni pink sauce pasta, BBQ chicken pizza and Chicken soup. The food was freshly made, tasty and really good. Rarely can you order food late night that is this good!

The Buffalo Wings had a traditional sause with what seemed like a smoky chilly flavor in additional. We dined with others who had a cheese with sasauge and mushrooms pizza. Must compliment the establishment on using good sliced sasauge not the greasy balls of goop most chains serve. Would like to return for one of the many lunch specials as the choices are ideal for mid day meals served with salad and beverage. Lost a star as interior seemed a little lacking in decor at first glance but outdoor seating is fresh and charming. That being said must recommend for all when hungry and near.

Chicken fettuccine Alfredo + cheese bread + soda came out to be $40. Food was alright but very overpriced. Decent amount of food but definitely not $40 worth. Pasta was quite heavy, it was lacking zest to cut through the butter. I enjoyed it for the first half but it slowly became a chore to eat from how heavy it was. Cheese bread was good. I went in person and they gave us a menu that had reasonable prices but once he came back with the total I was shook. He told us the menu was 3yrs old. I feel like he should tell people the price of our orders before we pay. Man working the register was nice, but never came to check up on us after bringing out the food. Didn’t ask us if we wanted anything to drink but maybe that’s because the water also costs money. I understand covid has been difficult but I imagine raising prices to this level would do any good. I feel like it makes it hard to attract new customers and disappoint long time customers. Overall, decent food but overpriced.

The place was empty. The Heineken tasted like it had been stored in the sun for two weeks, and the garlic bread for a few days more. Not on the top of their game tonight.

Difficult to rate because there are 2 people who manage. The older gentleman is very nice and makes great pizza. The younger one cannot cook a pizza. Always leave my pizza underdone. Says it will be ready in 10 min. Your pizza is not done in 10 min !! So soggy always in the middle. Last time was the last straw I couldn’t even pick it up without all the toppings falling off.

This has been a staple in our rotation for quite some time now but after tonight I will not be going back. I ordered three standard items (eggplant parm, lasagna, and the cheesy meatballs) that I’ve ordered in the past but tonight something was amiss. The meatballs smelled and tasted as if they’d been dropped in dish soap or come into contact with some other cleaning product. I can still taste it and it makes me want to vomit. What makes it worse is that when I called the restaurant I was treated as if it were impossible for any sort of cross contamination to have occurred and simply dismissed. I can appreciate they may have been busy but when it comes to a potential food poisoning or chemical contamination issue, you take that seriously, you don’t dismiss it and do everything you can to get off the phone. Mistakes are part of any food service operation but how they’re handled is what is most important, and this was an abject failure. Thanks for the past food but your poor attitude have cost you my business.

This place is a joke. Ordered $60 worth of food on postmates and forgot to order a side of ranch. I gave them a call to pay for it on the phone and they wouldn’t let me. They said it has to be done on the app. I asked if he could just include it and the clown said no. Losing customers over a 50 cent condiment. Avoid this overpriced, 0 service restaurant

Do not ever order delivery from them. They will have you waiting so long, ridiculously long, and your food will be cold by the time you get it, if you ever do. Your driver may also give up your order because they waited too long and don't want to risk their car being towed due to the limited parking in westwood....I can only imagine how irritated their average diner is about the terrible service. Try pomodoro trattoria, its in the same neighborhood.

Never again! Baked spaghetti was supposedly ordered by many so I tried that, along with fried mushrooms, and tiramisu. Terrible dinner choice!! This photo of the spaghetti does not look baked at all. It looked and tasted like regular spaghetti, except too sour and salty--had to throw it away. I did not taste any hint of melted mozzarella in it. Tiramisu was not fresh. Definitely frozen because I could taste the frozen pieces. Guess mushrooms were the only ok thing, which were really regular fried mushrooms, nothing more.
