Opinions de Maccheroni Republic Los Angeles
Came here with friends and everyone loved it! I would definitely recommend the Rigatoni Pom’Amore, the Boccoletti Al Pesto E Ricotta, and the Maccheroni and Cheese. The quality of the homemade pasta was amazing, especially the texture. Service and atmosphere were also great. Prices were very reasonable as well! Overall a great experience and will be coming back :)
This is my favorite restaurant in Los Angeles. I have tried at least 7-8 different dishes, and every single one of them blew my mind by how delicious they were. Portions are very reasonable, and the price is good for the quality of food and the service experience you receive. All pastas are housemade, and there is a cheap bar across the street. You can grab a quick beer or two waiting for your table.
This is always a great place to go for a nice Italian meal. Romantic italian spot with the most amazing and unique pasta dishes at a great price. The pasta is always fresh and service was great and very attentive! I had been craving tiramisu for a while and this one did not disappoint. I'll be back soon! Favorite: Bianchi & Neri Pasta, Burratina, Violetta di Malanzane
We stumbled onto this wonderful restaurant while in DTLA on New Year’s Eve. The service was top-notch and the restaurant vibe was great. We ate on the covered patio while it rained, and were perfectly comfortable due to the patio heaters. Everything we ordered was delicious, from the bread (which tasted freshly baked) and appetizers to the drinks and desserts. They serve a really decent house Chianti; my husband opted for a more expensive Bordeaux type blend which was also wonderful. We ordered two appetizers, a bruschetta and an eggplant dish, along with lasagne, osso buco with pasta, ricotta cheesecake and Cannelloni. My husband swears the cannelloni was the best cannelloni he’s ever had… I tasted it and give it 10/10! I might add that we found the restaurant within an hour of closing and were treated with the utmost hospitality.
I love this little local spot. The staff is almost all native Italian and very charming. The space itself is adorable. Once you're inside, you don't even feel like you're in downtown. I've never had a dish here that I didn't care for - seriously, everything is delicious. The only downside is that it's so popular and they don't take reservations, so there's always a wait.
The pasta here is really good, worth returning to. All freshly made in-house. The garlic bread also was yummy. There can be a long wait so I recommend coming during a weekday or lunch to avoid that. Not sure why they haven't started any kind of reservation system, at this point, every restaurant in LA is on either OpenTable or Resy. Parking in this area is not fun, area can be sketchy at night if you are a female by yourself.
The food is delicious, super fresh and tasty. The waiters super friendly. They served our food very quick. The salads are exquisite, specially the Arugula one. The pastas on point!! And to finish, the deserts are as good as all the food. The chocolate and the cheese cake are a must try!!
I have been coming here for the past 4 years and can say that the quality of food is consistently great. Pasta is always cooked to perfection. Pasta Norma is my favorite, Frutti di mare and linguini vongole are a hit or miss, sometime sauce it is way too salty, but again texture of the pasta is always a perfection. Their tiramisu is also so good! Service is not very attentive or personable, in fact the last time waiters appeared super tired, bussing staff however were really kind. Parking garage nearby is 22$ for 60+ minutes and the restaurant validates for 6$, so you end up paying about the same amount as other public parking spots nearby. Prices for the dishes have gone up over the past few years but this is true for any restaurant in the industry with this economy. Overall, great food, will be coming back!!
Love this place! We went with the waitresses recommendations and it did not disappoint! We were also seated next to another couple and ended up enhancing our evening. Atmosphere is great and drinks are well made! Would love to go again!
We arrived in Los Angeles after a long car journey all the way from Las Vegas. We just came back from returning our rental car and were exhausted. Our group was looking for an early dinner near our hotel and found this place. Once we arrived we only had to wait shortly until the restaurant opened. A very friendly waitress welcomed us and brought us to our table. Once we were comfortable and finished deciding what beverages we wanted to order a manager arrived and took our order. The drinks came quickly and the lemonade tasted great and refreshing. After we ordered our appetizers two of our friends arrived and we asked the manager if it would be ok if we merged two tables. He was very friendly and said it would be better to give us a different table which he happily brought us to and transferred our beverages to. Soon our appetizers arrived which tasted amazing. After we finished we ordered our main dishes which also arrived quickly and also tasted great. The manager kept on checking in on us and reminding us how we should take it slow, because we were very early and almost all alone in the restaurant. Once we finished our pasta dishes the place started filling up, but it was still a very calm, quiet and subtle feeling. We still ordered some dessert, which also came quickly although the restaurant was already quite full. After we finished we got the respectfully priced check. This place is a great, authentic Italian restaurant for pasta and appetizer lovers, who also appreciate a quiet and comfortable environment. Definitely recommendable.
It was our first time coming in and first off the service was exceptional. The host who sat us was so kind, even making sure there was an extra chair at our table for me to set my bag. Our server was incredibly warm and kind, making sure we were attended to. Regularly checking on us and refilling our waters. We sat outside and it was the perfect temperature out, even without the outdoor heaters on. The food was incredible, the hardest part was making a choice on what to order with so many delicious sounding options. I ordered the Cacio pollo pappardelle and it was delicious! I will absolutely be maling a point to return and try some of the other amazing looking options!
Very delicious pasta! Loved the atmosphere and every dish was so freaking good. I got the lasagna, pappardelle Al cinghaile, chicken fettuccine and linguine Al frutti Di mare. My favorite was the lasagna. If you love pasta then you’ll definitely love this place! Great sauces and pastas. Need to go back and try some more dishes and dessert.
This has become a go-to with our kids when we visit Downtown LA. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Their Burrata appetizer is one of my favorite things on their menu. I tried the bone marrow for the first time and it was so flavorful, I couldn’t believe all of that flavor was in that small amount of marrow. The pasta is always amazing. I don’t think there’s a single dish I’ve tried that I haven’t liked. What I also love is you can go into the parking structure located adjacent to here and they will validate so you don’t end up paying an arm and a leg for parking. Try it, you won’t regret it.
Good variety of authentic Italian dishes made with fresh made pasta. The staff was very nice and engaging with our party. We were from out of town and were lucky to find this little gem in the middle of LA.
My first visit there was a bit tricky since I wasn't familiar with the area, so I just went with my gut. The butternut squash soup was delicious, but the pasta lunch portion was quite small for the $24.00 price tag. Next time, I plan to explore a bit more. Aside from that, everything was professionally done and cooked well.
Maccheroni Republic is LEGIT. This was literally the best Italian my partner and I have had in the US, if not world. Every dish was cooked to perfection, perfectly balanced like a symphony of flavors dancing in a field of taste buds. The al dente nature of the pasta was executed perfectly, and the tiramisu was bold with its commitment to coffee (cannot recommend enough). Added to this wonderful experience was an intimate environment and the friendliest waiter of our trip. A truly lovely experience that we hope to one day recreate in the near-future
What an AMAZING dinner. From the greeting to the food...and the service was top notch! From Christian taking my reservation when I got there (which was a 45 minute wait, and totally worth it) to the initial order of the BEST garlic bread EVER! Nico was an amazing server. Not sure his actual role there, but as an ambassador for the brand, he is the guy! The house made pasta was just what I was looking for. The Trifogli was perfect. And the cheesecake for desert was just what I needed. The cider was a perfect compliment for this meal. First time in DTLA, and I will be back if not for this place alone.
The best pasta dishes I’ve had. By far one of my favorite restaurants in Los Angeles. It gets quite crowded but it’s worth the wait. Prices are great and parking is convenient. There’s a little pasta factory next to it which is amazing. Just from the outside it looks like a museum’s worth of different pasta.
Maccheroni Republic is an absolute gem in the heart of Los Angeles. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with warm and friendly service. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, perfect for a delightful dining experience. Now, let's talk about the food – it's simply Michelin-level delicious! Every dish is crafted with care and bursting with flavor. The gnocchi is a standout, with its pillowy softness and rich, savory sauce that leaves you craving more. And the osso buco? It's a masterpiece. The meat is tender, falling off the bone, and the accompanying sauce is perfectly balanced, making each bite a true delight. If you're looking for an unforgettable meal with top-notch service, Maccheroni Republic is the place to be. Highly recommended! --- Also, They validate up to $6 of parking in the garage next to the restaurant.
Lunch here on a weekday, grabbed a table outside since it was nice out. The handmade pasta with bolognese was al dente with rich meat sauce, but portions felt a tad small for the price. Added some chili flakes for kick. Server was chatty and refilled water quick, place has that cozy Italian spot feel downtown.
I always try a new restaurant (or three) during my birthday week. Maccheroni Republic was one for this year. Rated high on Trip Advisor, number 7 in all of LA. After my dinner, I totally agree! The food is DELICIOUS! service is excellent, and the atmosphere is nice. The shrimp appetizer was incredible, Ceaser salad well prepared, and the pasta was amazing!!! The pasta tasted like something I would get back home. It took me back to Italy! I've driven by this restaurant a hundred times since they started in business, and I never noticed it. I will definitely be back! Come and try this unassuming, but amazing place!!! Update: my third visit to this restaurant. Still as great as the first time! Very consistent, excellent food and attentive service. Still takes me back to Italy!!! My last visit a couple days ago. Still amazing! Food is excellent, the service is attentive, and it reminds me of a restaurant in Italy. Can't do better in LA! Nice also that after just a few visits they recognize me and come to say "welcome back!" Update: still a great restaurant! Come and try delicious food and excellent service!
This is authentic Italy in downtown Los Angeles. It is like I entered a passageway to Italy when I walked into the restaurant! I had the lasagna and it was amazing. My wife had the spinach and ricotta tortellini and I couldn’t decide which was better. Great service, great drinks, relaxed and comfortable atmosphere and reasonable prices. It’s a complete win!
If you are craving fresh pasta dishes that will make you happy & cozy - come here! The staff was very helpful, friendly & informed. Our waiter helped us pick out a delightful dinner. The atmosphere is comfortable and charming. The deserts should not be missed. We will happily be back soon.
Great place! Must go back asap! This time we will bring the kids! Amazing fresh pasta! Made right there, you will walk by as you head to the front. Great espresso martini. And our server Adriana was so sweet! Met Nico and told him how my husband and I loved the place! Sad there wasn’t any merch to purchase but hopefully next time we come around there will be!!
Very delicious Italian hand made pasta & welcoming comfortable atmosphere. I loved my bianchi & neri pasta. It was so thick and creamy and cheesy delicious pasta goodness. The pasta was packed with flavors and the texture was perfectly al dente. My pasta had the perfect portion and quality because I did not look heavy and bloated or feel sleepy after eating carbs. The host and servers treated us with kindness and hospitality. My friends and I had a good time. Definitely a great place to hang out with your friends and family over high quality authentic Italian food.
Great food, great service, great patio! I've never sat inside so I have no idea what's in there except the good food that comes out 🤤 Roasted bone marrow was delicious. I really liked the waffle cut toast that came with it. Tortellini was also delicious. So delicious that I forgot to take a picture. Finished it off with a cappuccino.
No reservations but they use a waitlist system that texts you when your table is ready — make sure to add your name in person. Then you’re free to walk around in the meantime — grand central market is right across the street where you can explore and grab drinks in that meantime. The ambiance is great, staff is super nice, and the food and drinks were served hot. Our waiter, Ivan, was especially warm and friendly throughout the dinner. We had a bottle of Chianti, Violetta (eggplant cheese appetizer was pretty good), I ordered the AGNOLOTTI (a salsa verde with stuffed pasta, was good but not fabulous), my fiancé got the BIGOLI DELLA NONNA (I think this translates to Grandma’s Bigoli(?), his was VERY good — pasta tasted super authentic and of high quality — definitely recommend this one!). The flan was FANTASTIC!! Prices were reasonable, would come back again!
Excellent place to have quality Italian food. Even their bread is delicious (home made and super fresh). Gourmet quality but no BS or strange mixtures - real Italian flavors. This is the second time I eat here and it’s been amazing in every level. Atmosphere is super chill, and service is impeccable from the beginning to the end. If you want to eat mind blowing pasta at a super nice place and be treated as a welcomed friend, come to this place.
Seriously, one of the best Italian restaurants I've been to in a while! The service was amazing and they answered all of our questions about the menu. I love the fact that when we were walking to the restaurant, the place where the pasta is made is literally next door! Definitely get the tiramisu. You won't regret it!
We have been here multiple times and the food quality is amazing and very consistent. The pasta is very light, cooked to perfection and made with a lot of love. Shout-out to the chef. We absolutely enjoyed the squid ink risotto, the Rigatoni Pom'amore, Boccoletti Al Pesto E Ricotta and Agnolotti Di Ossobuco(the bone marrow). My personal favorite was the risotto. Do not skip the Tiramisu. I could eat 7 of those and skip dinner. Highly recommend. P. S. 18% gratuity is added to the check!
One of the best Italian restaurants I’ve been to! The food is consistently amazing — the pom adore was outstanding, the linguine vongole was flavorful and fresh, and the bruschetta was absolutely delicious. This was my third time visiting, and it won’t be my last. The owner/manager is also incredibly kind and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. Highly recommend!
10 out of 10 experience. The experience here was top-notch. The food is amazing and the service was out of this world. Every server who came to my table was so nice and knowledgeable with answering my questions and just making it feel like it was home. My favorite dish was the eggplant. I would order 2 of those and have them for just my entree again. The ricotta cheesecake was also extremely. The texture and flavor was perfect. I had the boar bolognese as my entree, and it was good. I would give it an 8 out of 10. I was expecting a more traditional Bolognese but the meat in this one is chunked, as opposed to a ground to beef or pork. The ambiance is amazing. And the patio was such a vibe.
Delicious Italian food. I ordered the Agnolotti and it was solid. I haven’t had anything like it in the past. The appetizers are also good. The food was a little too salty for my taste. Overall good service and ambiance.
Great in every aspect! Great service, food, drink, good portions, nice ambiance and reasonably priced. Glad I stumbled across this place heading from Central Market to Hotel. Went back two days later. Was recognized and welcomed back. Very accommodating to a single person. Another great experience. Thank you!
This restaurant is amazing! From the staff to the atmosphere, and especially the food! Everything was as fresh and authentic as anything I've had in Italy. The biggest surprise was the flan! I always order it at restaurants and then compare it to my mom's flan, but from my first bite I had a "Ratatouille" moment where I was thrown back to my mom's kitchen as a kid and could see her smiling at me as I ate it with a big grin on my face. Can't recommend this place enough.
I wanted to share a recommendation for an authentic Italian restaurant in DTLA that I’ve been enjoying for years. It is a wonderful, cozy spot that I frequently suggest to friends and family. The food is excellent, with everything—including the pasta—made in-house. The owners, who moved here from Italy, are incredibly friendly and make every guest feel like part of the family. Despite the high quality, the pricing remains very reasonable. It is a great location for a meal with friends or a date. I highly recommend visiting, though I suggest arriving in the late afternoon or early evening to ensure you get seated quickly.
Excellent dining, very delicious. Pastas were fresh, their quality was evident. Have gone several times, and never have I been disappointed. Absolutely worth a detour, and there's no excuse for not trying these pastas at such a fair price. It is also well located, right around downtown. There is also parking right next to the entrance, which is really convenient. Menu also has a very wide range of options, and dishes for all tastes are available. Service can be a bit quicker, and more attentive to requests, but nothing too bad. Excellent place to get food and a must if visiting LA.
It has been 10 years since we were last here. The food is still outstanding. We came here on a Saturday afternoon and we were able to get in right away. The restaurant was full, but we timed it just right The food was great, starting with the Friti Misti. We then had the Caesar salad. Also good. For our mains, I had the Cacio Parpadelle with Chicken, and my wife had the Bianchi and Neri Pasta (Black and White pasta). We really enjoyed the food. The service was great and the outdoor patio was really comfortable and pleasant.
Since we were already in LA, we went for lunch at an Italian restaurant that’s rumored to have amazing pasta and is highly recommended by many people. We chose an indoor table that day. All the staff were very friendly, and one of the dishes they recommended was the Rigatoni Pom’ Amore. If you like creamy tomato-based sauces and cheese, this one is a winner. They even finished it off by grating Parmesan cheese right at the table. The other pasta we ordered was vongole. I loved how rich and flavorful the clams were, and there were also large pieces of garlic in it. We also ordered cheese fries, and for dessert, tiramisu and panna cotta. The tomato-based sauce that came with the cheese fries was delicious as well. I don’t usually order dessert, but this time I gave in to temptation. Not only were the flavors great, but the pasta itself was excellent—the noodles were especially good. Everything was well-seasoned, and we were completely satisfied. If only I had a bigger stomach, I would have loved to try many more dishes.
Delicious food with great service and nice value. We had the Frito misto, Caesar salad, pesto pasta and a penne in a red sauce with burrata. We felt that the Caesar salad had too much dressing but otherwise everything else was delicious. A great bite on the pastas and really delicious sauces.
After living in LA for more than five years, I’d walked past this spot countless times without stopping in. A friend picked it for her birthday because it’s always reliable, and I’m glad she did. Every dish we ordered was impressive, and I ended up tasting a bit of everything—there wasn’t a single miss. The garlic bread alone deserves special praise. I can see why this place has earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand, and it’s definitely one I won’t overlook again.
Cool place in downtown. Fast, attentive, and very kind service. The owner, Nico, is extremely friendly and welcoming. As an Italian, I can guarantee that his homemade pasta is truly excellent and well above the standard. The cooking—crucial for a good pasta dish—is perfect. We really enjoyed it. This is not the usual fake “Italian” restaurant abroad, but a genuine and excellent Italian restaurant! 🇮🇹🍝
A lively Italian spot in DTLA. Validated parking at the back is available. The staff are very friendly and they tried to be as helpful as possible, which was very nice. I enjoy the bone marrow, the salad and the risotto the most. The pastas were delicious too but a tiny too salty for me. The have indoor and outdoor seatings with strip lights, which make the vibe so appealing. Would be great for a date night :)
The italian food here is absolutely phenomenal! I had the Gnocchi with bolognes sauce and it was completely out of this world! They offered to add parmesean to the dish and I wish I could have added more to compliment the dish. Once the meal was done we had dessert, a slice of chocolate cake that had a texture very similar to a light angel cake. Additionally we also had the flan, incredibly custardy with that caramel top. The only thing that would make this place better is the ability to take reservations so avoid the wait outside.
I didn’t want to be generic and order what everybody else did. However, I did. Hahaha. I ordered Bianchi and Neri, and it was delicious! No wonder it is a popular dish. Pasta is cooked just right. Not too thin or thick. Sauce is creamy. Delicious. I added cheese on top, but I probably didn’t need it. I also had mascarpone flan. Delicious! There was a hint of floral scent. I don’t know where it was from, but it was really nice overall. Both pretty good size portion.
I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch at the Maccheroni Republic. I appreciate all of the trees and greenery within the concrete jungle of downtown LA. I ate the delicious salmon spaghetti with lemon and capers. The service was quick and I witnessed many tasty dishes being served to tables of locals and tourists. There are salad options and a bevy of pasta dishes, but not much protein on the menu. I look forward to returning to this very authentic restaurant.
I picked this restaurant for our group before the Pink Marrini concert tonight. Didn't know them before hands, just googled and couldn't wait to experience... Cocktails: very creative with different mixes and very good. We had Passione and Watermelon Ciao. Very refreshing for a warm summer night. Food: 1. Calamari In Zimino: so delicious, smoky and so tender, melting in your mouth. Love the way they cook the Swiss chard. The whole dish has so much flavors but not overwhelming and tastes umami. 2. Cesare salad: very different than a conventional Caesar salad, well balanced of acidity and fat, great flavors and refreshing. Liked the very crunchy ciabatta crumbs, very nice touch and texture. 3. Bigoli Della Nonna: delicious, rich in flavors but not overwhelming. Liked the texture of little meat chunks in stead of traditional ground beef. Can't beat the homemade Venetian Spaghetti. 4. Bianchi & Neri: I asked for Bianchi pasta only. The dish was very good but not a WOW factor as reviews said. I could add some fermented black garlic bits or thin garlic slices. Pancetta bits could be abit bigger to be noticeable in appearance and bites. 5. Frutti di Mare: I got a taste from my friend, thought it was my favorite. Well balanced of flavors and taste, seafood seemed very fresh, Pomodoro was bright but not acidic and had a natural tomato sweetness. 6. Lasagna: got a tiny bite from another friend, it was very delicious and got so much flavors. The service was very good. Staff picked up soiled plates tentatively, and food came out promptly. There is a parking structure right next to the restaurant, $22 for 1-10hrs but you get $6 off after validated by the restaurant. Or you can park a block away on Broadway for $10. Overall, we really enjoyed our dinner. Food is delicious overall. Pricing is very reasonable compared to everything is high everywhere now and also for homemade pastas, and in LA too... much appreciated for the experience ❤️.
What a hidden gem! Despite numerous reviews, I had no idea this place existed. But wow, I’m so glad I stumbled upon it! Every dish was delicious, and the ambiance was great. Parking was a bit pricey at $22, but it was right next to the restaurant’s parking structure with a $6 validation fee. So, I ended up paying $16. But most importantly, I had a great time with my friends.
It’s rare to find a restaurant where the food, service, and atmosphere are all equally on point. Stepping into this oasis downtown feels like walking into a trattoria in Italy — such a treat. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in LA. Tips: They don’t take reservations, so plan to come early. We arrived at 5:30 PM on a Saturday, and it was already quite busy. We waited about 25 minutes, but it was part of the experience — while waiting, you can watch fresh pasta being made through the large glass windows of the building behind the restaurant. There’s also a peaceful water feature and some benches where you can relax. Service: The hospitality here is wonderful. We were warmly greeted and waited on by someone who I believe is the (or of the) owners — a charming Italian gentleman who made us feel like family. He walked us through the menu, offered thoughtful recommendations, and was clearly beloved by many regulars dining that night. Food: Starters: We had the garlic ciabatta, scampi alla busara, and a Caesar greens salad. The garlic bread was rich with real garlic and butter — dangerously good! The scampi in tomato sauce was absolutely delectable. Entrées: We ordered the bianchi & neri, bigoli della nonna, and tortelloni burro salvia. Each was excellent, but the bianchi & neri really stood out — the cream sauce is unique, rich, and completely addictive. It’s the signature dish for good reason. Dessert: We finished with the olive cake, which was among the best I’ve ever had. It came with two berry sauces. Not overly sweet — just complex, fragrant, and perfectly balanced. Overall, an unforgettable dining experience. If you’re in LA and love Italian food, don’t miss it.
My first time dining here, and I'm a fan. The outdoor seating ambiance is comfortable and relatively quiet for a busy restaurant. Everything I ordered was absolutely delicious. The wait staff was very attentive and friendly. This place is my new go too for Italian cuisine 😋
One of my favorite pasta restaurants! The food is absolutely delicious, and even Europeans recognize the quality here. The combination of fresh salads, perfectly cooked pasta, and flavorful risotto is simply unbeatable. The prices are reasonable, and the taste is exceptional. It’s a place I would recommend without hesitation to friends and family visiting from out of town. Definitely a must-visit!
I’ve been in LA for over five years & would pass this place frequently, but never thought to give it a try. A friend chose it for her birthday dinner location, because for her- the food is consistently good. I was pleasantlysurprised. Tried a bite from each of the dishes pictured & enjoyed every single one. Of note, the garlic bread- fantastic. & It has a Michelin Bib Gourmand

We ate here when staying at the Conrad as it was a 5 minute walk. The pasta was really tasty, the wine was good and service excellent. It was very busy for a Monday so is a popular choice
If you want some authentic Italian food, this is it. Fresh pasta and white sauce was delicious. The Calamari was fresh and the red sauce made a nice dipping sauce. There is a wait on Saturday so make sure to make a reservation or walk around the area until your table is ready. The restaurant is very small but it makes for an intimate setting for a date or group setting. The service was awesome. The waiter, bus boy and manager all checked in with us to make sure our meal and experience was great.
First time visiting this restaurant. Went for Saturday lunch and parking was a breeze. Love that there is a lot behind the location. I really loved the rich history of the area and how it’s on display for you to learn and read as you walk to the restaurant. It was kid friendly, a few families there. This restaurant is small inside but I’m sure on a nice day the patio is great.
We went to Machetoni Republic as a party of 8 for a dinner while visiting LA. Overall a positive experience but the food was not very remarkable. We had to wait for around 30-40 minutes to be seated so make sure you book a table in advance. The pastas were cooked well but the flavors were just ok.
Amazing pasta! Hands down, the best pasta I’ve tried in a long time. My favorite was Pasta Alfredo, so good that we ended up ordering it twice. Other pasta that I’d recommend: tortellini, rigatoni, lasagna and the one with sea food. The ambience is very relaxing, It feels like you’re in a backyard. The service could have been better, I felt like they didn’t pay that much attention. The prices are affordable. Either way, I’d definitely recommend this place if you want to eat good pasta!
First time visit for a casual lunch Friday. Wanted to get a taste of the consistently good rating! I had their cuffie squid ink pasta...a first for for me with this pasta shape. That it came with a saffron fish ragout added to the allure. We sat outside on a cold day in November...so did not have much exposure to the atmosphere. But the food did it!
This place is such a beautiful restaurant and the ambience is very romantic. I ordered the squid ink risotto and my partner ordered the black and white pasta, both were very delicious and we were satisfied with our main. The only down side were the scallops on the risotto they were flavorless. But I will definitely go back because the staff and atmosphere was so nice. I also recommend trying their fried calamari and goat cheese salad.
Front of house's hospitality was outstanding despite my inexpensive, solo dining. Fiuggi's light, soft sparkling water let my food on Center stage; even the sliced lemon on top added a volatile citrus aroma. The bread had a good contrast: thin crunchy crust, soft crumb, with good olive oil bringing it together. The spinach‑ricotta filled pasta in butter & sage is a magnificent art of gastronomy: soft, pillowy filling, butter (fat) carrying the dairy flavor. Fresh dough was thin but elastic skin, soft filling. Butter & cheese gave creaming effect. I was glad I declined the server's courtesy offer of more cheese: Parmegiano and salt perfectly finished it. The sage was aromatic, present, warm but never bitter or dominating. It was well calibrated; truly skilled. Tiramisu, my favorite dessert was very disappointing, unfortunately. The deep ceramic bowl was my style: the thermal control maintains the whipped cream's texture. But the cream was very stiff, so it stabilizes in the fridge from the productivity aspect. And there was no lady fingers but the thin sponge (it was soaked in espresso at least). I paid $12 for flavored overly whipped cream, basically. This tiramisu was definitely "Do not order item". I gave 20% tip, because everybody else's performance and execution were awesome.
I went on the last day of Dine LA for lunch and there was no wait! I was honestly prepared for the worst. I got three courses: burratina, gnocchi with mushroom sauce, and panna cotta. We started with the free bread, which felt a little dry and flavorless, but paired with the olive oil it was a nice touch. I also paired it with the creamy and acidic burratina and pomodoro, which made it a great vesel. The gnocchi was pillowy but on the slightly heavier side. The panna cotta was my favorite — silky and not too sweet! Overall, Maccheroni Republic didn’t blow me away like I thought it would based on the recommendations, but still worth a try! Our server was very attentive and speedy.
Pastas on point! No reservations unfortunately so recommend going on an “off time” such as a weekday evening. We went on a Monday and didn’t have to wait. They have wines and cocktails available but you can bring your own wine for a $30 corkage fee. The pastas are the highlight here so definitely recommend if you’re looking for a good plate of pasta. For appetizers, we really enjoyed the Grilled Calamari. We went with the Spaghetti and Meatballs and the Bianchi and Nero pasta, which is their signature dish. Very decadent and cooked expertly! For dessert we got the Ricotta Cheesecake and was smooth and not too sweet! Service was attentive and the ambiance was intimate and great for a date or a small group.
Fresh pasta with an ever changing menu. A great place for return visits. Across the street from the busy Grand Central Market but with the restaurant set back from the street and arrangement of hedges, even the outside seating feels set apart from the city. A great option for a date or a great pasta meal.

Truly is the best slice pizza I’ve ever had. It is incredible and worth the wait. When I’m in town again, this is will be my first stop.

Food was good, drinks were really good. Service was meh. The hostess was really nice, but the waiter was rude. I asked about the specials and he just told me to scan the qr code and read the description. I dont mind reading the menu first but I can't ask any questions? Then my friend took a second too long to order and he took off while we were mid-order. Then I realized why. They include an 18% tip with every order, so they can be as rude as they want and still get a tip!
I visited back in July and I was highly disappointed by this restaurant. First off, it was during summer and they had all the windows open/doors open to the outside. Normally I wouldn’t mind this, but given that it was summer it made the entire restaurant, including the interior sweltering hot. So much to the point that it was affecting my asthma and making it hard to breathe, which in turn made it difficult to enjoy my meal. The food was not bad, but I would have expected more from a Michelin rated restaurant. Better than Olive Garden but not as good as other Italian restaurants I’ve tried. And then the kicker was at the end of my meal I got hit with a 20% automatic gratuity. This was listed nowhere on the menu and no other restaurant I dined at in LA did this. The service was very poor- I barely got drink refills and I had to get my own to-go boxes because our waiter never came back to check on us. Definitely not worth a 20% gratuity.
It is a Michelin star Italian restaurant. The price / benefit balance is bad. Of course, if we were in Italy, it would be a mediocre restaurant, but in America, it is in good class. Bruschetta is American style as seen in the photo. There is cucumber in it. I see it for the first time. The cakes are successful. However, I will repeat that it is an average cake that is 3 times the numbers we eat in Italy. Definitely not Italian for Tiramisu. American style, like coffee with a lot of cream. The wine is normal. The prices are high, even for America. We paid 2.5 times more compared to Italy. 152 dolar. In Italy, we give the same menu icing a price between 55-65 Euro.
The food was disappointing overall. We ordered the Pesto Pasta and Norma Pasta, and the pasta in both dishes was undercooked and too chewy to enjoy. The fried mozzarella also fell short, as it had a noticeable taste of reused oil. The garlic bread was excellent though — crispy and flavorful. The service was attentive, and the ambience was peaceful and aesthetic.

Average food. Nothing to jump up and down about, fresh made pasta, nothing but pasta. it’s really good for the business profitability. We were duped by the photos of the dishes; We were drawned by sight but my palate remains very upset with my eyes for my tounge was deceived. The service staff needs to be be trained from scratch, dishes are dropped off at tables, tables that are begging for replacement. It matters not who ordered the dish, the guests are left to sort the plates out. An automatic tip of 18 percent is added to your bill, our party was 2 adults, two children; tip was non negotiable, part of the restaurants, sub par sevice. Would I return again, very unlikely, would I recommend this place, highly unlikely. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs; the meatballs were composed of other things but meat; who would blame the owner when their objective is profitability. I also ordered a glass of wine, this place doesn’t have wine glasses, surprise surprise.
Not sure if worth all the hassles - 1)One hour wait, standing outside on street 2)there is only one restroom, often a few people waiting 3)food is mediocre and prices seem to have gone up? I ordered the cioppino- not sure if they were running out? But it was literally tomatoe soup with few shrimp and bits of fish, I had to order dessert just because I was still hungry 4)parking is expensive (and you’re paying for this expensive parking while waiting for an hour to get seated).
Went there on january 25th around 7 pm, We were " welcomed" by a host with long hair, who had an attitude from the very beginning. Didnt feel welcomed, it was like if we caused him problems, barely had eye contact and he was acting like he is giving us a favor that we are coming to this restaurant. Felt disrespected and unwanted. The server seemed in a rush, wanted to get our orders and go to the next table. He brought us water and when we asked for " no ice" he literally dumped it in front of us into the pot plant and poured water from the bottle like mothing happened. Didn't expect that attitude from this place. I was like okay The service is bad but the food is gonna be great! To my suprise the food wasn't great either. The bruccheta was fresh, and nice, but super small. The papardelle had bad sauce and wasn't as extraordinary as I would think. Nobody came to check on us if we enjoy food. Maybe cuz I have accent? Tho I've been working in the industry for years so o appreciate hard working people. For this price - food quality and bad service - NOT WORTH IT. Won't come back. I have the atmosphere 4 stars cuz that's the only thing that's actually nice, the trees outside, the lights... super cute!
For our Valentine’s dinner, my wife and I ordered the pappardelle chicken Alfredo, rigatoni, and garlic bread. Unfortunately, the experience was inconsistent and ultimately disappointing. The pappardelle chicken Alfredo was the most troubling dish. While the pasta itself was cooked well and had a pleasant texture, the chicken was severely overcooked—so dry and tough that it was genuinely difficult and uncomfortable to bite and chew. For a dish priced at $27, one expects tender, fresh chicken and a sauce with depth and balance. Instead, the Alfredo sauce delivered little more than a heavy, creamy thickness with virtually no discernible flavor. It lacked seasoning, richness, and the nuanced taste that defines a well-executed Alfredo. In contrast, the rigatoni was far more successful. The pasta was properly cooked, the sauce was flavorful, and the fresh cheese on top added a welcome finish. It showed that the kitchen is capable of producing a satisfying dish when attention to flavor and execution align. The garlic bread fell somewhere in the middle—soft and acceptable, but unremarkable. It tasted generic, with a flavor profile reminiscent of store-bought garlic bread rather than something freshly prepared in-house. Given the occasion, we had hoped for a memorable Valentine’s dinner, but the overall experience was overshadowed by the poor quality of the pappardelle chicken Alfredo. With better attention to seasoning, ingredient quality, and consistency, this restaurant could deliver a far more satisfying dining experience.
This place is just awful. The service is slow and ever so entitled. They don't have the best food, so I am not sure why the staff has to be so snotty. We had a long wait and the place was less t…
The food is amazing, but be aware: I showed up to pick up my takeout exactly when they said it would be ready. I was told to wait 5 or 10 minutes. It was very cold so I asked if I could wait inside or near one of the heaters on the patio. The answer was no. The place was half empty. I waited 20 minutes, standing, very cold. If they had let me sit down, I would have ordered a glass of wine and an appetizer. While I waited, they sat people right away with no reservation. I live two blocks away and I'm a regular. The food is great, but I was very confused to be treated this way as a customer and a human being.
Came here to eat last Saturday . Came in got seated quick . Service was good at first . We sat down order appetizers and drink they came pretty quick . We order our food and waited almost 30+ min for our food . I notice three groups that came in after us get their food before us . Mind you is was just me and my wife . The groups that came in after us was one family 2 kids parents / three ppl in a group / and one couple . We literally order before all of them and tell me why our food came after all of them . I pointed it out to host and he denied it happen and said it takes atleast 30 min to make one plate but they literally came out with 7 plates order after us to their tables . After I said something out food came out 2 min later . My plate was cold like it was sitting on the counter top while my wife came out warm . When I pointed this out they said nothing about it and walk Away . When it came time to pay I notice gratuity was already added and I told them I wanted to tip to them on their performance and did not want to pay what they were charging when their service was shitty after my complain . Since the hostess made a lil scene I just told him for get it paid 140 on 110 meal and left . I just hope that any one who looks like me know that their service is judgemental and will service ppl they see fit to eat at this place . Will I go here again . Nope never again . The food was mediocre cold next time they should serv it hot or warm.
