Opinions de Met Him at a Bar Los Angeles
I had brunch here with friends over the weekend, and the food was absolutely delicious. The ambiance was lovely, and the service was top-notch. 😋✨ I had the waffletella which looked and tasted so good that the guests on the other side of the table had to order same. My friends had the black bean wrap and potatoes while my third friend had the crispy French toast
Opening up a restaurant in a major city must be a daunting task, a bit overwhelming and a little scary. But owning three restaurants all within walking distance and located just across the street from one other is something I’ve never seen before. “Met Him at a Bar,” “Met Her at a Bar” and “The Night We Met” are the names of the three restaurants all owned by the same couple. I chose to dine at “Met Him at a Bar” and ordered the Rigatoni Vodka, brussel sprouts, garlic bread and a pepperoni pizza. The pasta was absolutely delicious as were the other dishes. The homemade pasta coupled with the bold and flavorful sauce, was perfectly seasoned and tasted amazing. The brussel sprouts lightly drizzled with olive oil and cooked to perfection had a balsamic dressing type flavor, which was fantastic. Unlike other establishments they weren’t overly charred, greasy or salty. The pizza and the garlic bread were very tasty and had lots of flavor. However, I did find the pizza a tad bit salty but overall it was a pleasant dish. Kudos, to my server melissa she was great. Her personality, friendly demeanor and welcoming spirit was appreciated as were her suggestions of some of the restaurant’s most popular dishes. She even recommended some of her favorites. The interior decor and vibe is definitely upscale with a laid back twist. It’s the perfect place for a date night or group gathering with friends. The restaurant was very clean and the tables were large enough to accommodate several dishes. The food portions were adequate and priced accordingly. There’s also a bar serving a variety of alcoholic beverages. I would highly recommend making reservations and arriving on time. Every table was filled and remained this way until I left. Without question, this is a MUST if visiting Los Angeles. You will not be disappointed!!!! *After my meal I walked across the street to “The Night We Met” just to peek inside but ended up ordering a couple dishes. Review forthcoming!
My wife and I are in LA for our friends’ wedding, and came upon this restaurant via google search and this has to be one of the BEST google finds ever! We had the Arancini for our appetizer… my wife is VERY particular in her arancini lol— she and I LOVED IT! For our entrees, my wife had the Vodka Rigatoni— one of the tastiest and intricate vodka sauces we’ve had! I ordered the Spaghetti Carbonara (as per our server Zach’s recommendation) … OH MY GOD. 100% comparable to Italy… seriously. The in-house pastas are cooked “al-dente” (as it should be lol, not many places do) Everything was so good, we ordered a Margherita pizza to go! We hope to visit here again before we leave! 10/10 And read the story on the menu of how this place came around.. It explains the awesome name of this restaurant!
Loved this place! Went for brunch on Saturday. Such awesome servers, and such amazing food. The French toast with the cinnamon brioche is truly one of the best French toasts I’ve ever had. The chicken and waffles is fantastic too! Would definitely come back
Phenomenal! Absolutely delicious meal. Wonderful drinks and superior service. The atmosphere was classy and inviting. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. We had a great time and can’t wait to go back to try more things from the menu. Wish we would have had room for desert. We highly recommend a visit.
Met Him at a Bar delivers an excellent dining experience. The bruschetta was fresh and well-prepared, the vodka pasta was rich and flavorful, and the dessert was both delicate and memorable. The atmosphere is inviting and well-suited for an enjoyable evening out. Highly recommend
Best place I’ve ever been to!! The food was amazing and so flavorful! The atmosphere was romantic and chic, and staff was very friendly! Excited to come back again!
We came here for date night and it was AMAZING! Everything was a 10/10, we can’t recommend this spot enough. We enjoyed some fantastic drinks and shared the Brussels sprouts (incredible), Caesar salad, Bianca pizza (perfect for cheese lovers), and the rigatoni vodka pasta with a meatball. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!
Met Him at a Bar is one of those places you’re thrilled to stumble into, but then you wonder why you hadn’t been coming here all along. It’s the “brother” restaurant to Met Her at a Bar—right across the street—which has long been one of my favorite brunch spots. As often happens, there was a 45-minute wait over there, so I decided to cross the street and give Met Him a try. To my surprise, there was no wait, and brunch was absolutely delicious. Honestly, I don’t know why the hosts don’t just point the overflow across the street, because this spot is hiding in plain sight. We weren’t the only ones to discover it—lots of other guests seemed to be having the same “wait, this is right here?” realization. The brunch menu is spot-on, with dishes that feel just as craveable and comforting as its sister restaurant. But Met Him at a Bar really shines at night too. The dinner menu leans into Italian classics, and they do them justice—perfectly cooked pastas, rich sauces, and fresh ingredients that never feel heavy-handed. The atmosphere is lively, the staff is friendly and playful, and they make the whole experience feel easy and fun. Whether you’re ducking in for the “secret brunch” alternative or planning a cozy Italian dinner, this place delivers on both fronts. A true neighborhood gem hiding in plain sight.
stumbled in here with my boyfriend and some friends while we were in the area and looking for food & it was a pleasant surprise! the food was amazing, the portion size was perfect, we left full but not tired and over stuffed! service was great and the atmosphere was nice and bright
Choice place for breakfast or brunch. Went on a Saturday morning and we were seated right away. We ordered the all American breakfast, avocado toast, and chicken on waffle. Orders were delivered to our table in short time. Everything was delicious. Service was good and interior was decorated nicely. Very much enjoyed breakfast here.
The customer service is all positive energy, and the food here is stellar. We tried the meatballs, and I know it feels like you can't go wrong with that, but the consistency and flavor was just better. The cioppino and fettuccine alfredo were also delicious. The house made lemon glazed donut with ice cream was a knock out. I think this initially slipped my radar because I don't drink alcohol, and the name deceived me. Will definitely return to try more dishes. Parking in the evening can be a bit difficult on a Saturday, but valet is available right up front for $15.
…….I am SHOOK at how incredible this place is. Casey and Brady were so much fun to chat with at the bar!! We had the rigatoni vodka pasta (which literally changed our lives) along with an amazing pizza and a couple of cocktails. Everything was delish, service was lovely and the atmosphere is 10/10. Will be back!!!!
Our food was excellent! We had the Brussels sprouts, Pasta alla Norma, and the Cacio e Pepe. Great service, great food! Just a heads up that it’s very loud inside when it’s crowded. Fun, but not super conducive to conversation without speaking loudly.
We are glad to see they started doing brunch here. We were advised when joining the waiting list at "met her at a bar" and were seated very quickly. Awesome service from everyone! Same delicious brunch and drinks. Still need to try their menu for lunch tho
my boyfriend and I came here when he first visited LA back in 2023, and now that we are both settled here in 2025, we came back again. the ambiance was just as beautiful but the service was EXCEPTIONAL this time around. all of the workers were so amazing and personable to us. the food was much much better this time around as well, I highly recommend the 6 cheese tortolini (i added scallops to mine,) the arincini appetizer was sooo good, the bruschetta, and the cacio e pepe. we did not like the pesto at all as it was too fragrant but everything had outstanding quality, flavor, and presentation. we will be back! ps, I wish the salmon dish was a bigger filet or came with an additional side besides just spinach.
Amazing food and staff were so attentive. Shout out to our server Brady who was amazing!! We were asked to move tables so a doggy could sit on the patio (of course no problem, dogs are the best) the table inside was cute and they gave us dessert on the house for moving tables even though no big deal! The food was unreal too 💚

How cute is Met Him At A Bar?! Initially, we went to Met Her At A Bar, the brunch spot. 25-minute wait there, but the hostess was gracious enough to tell us about their brother property that has a lot of their breakfast favorites. Greeted by the cute and stylish hostess, Campbell, we entered a fresh and tastefully decorated atmosphere. The lemons trees and cute light fixtures made me feel so LA. The food matched the vibes with a cute presentation and was delicious. I had the chicken and waffles and classic mimosas, and my daughter had the Mama's omelet with potatoes. Come and enjoy! I definitely left satisfied and full. Dont miss Met Him At A Bar :)
went here with my manager and coworkers for the first time ever and the atmosphere was super gorgeous! the food was nicely priced and the drinks were super yummy. i ordered the rigatoni with vodka sauce and it was the best vodka sauce ive ever tried in my life. iut waiter was very kind too, i believe his name was jacob :) awesome experience here!
First time here and we instantly loved it. The cocktail menu is elite. Our group tried over six different drinks and every single one was delicious. My favorite was the lychee martini, and their carajillo had a really nice twist with banana liqueur that made it stand out. The food was just as great. The carbonara pasta was the dish of the night for sure. The calamari was my favorite appetizer, and the pizzas were also excellent. We would absolutely love to come back. The founder’s story was adorable and heartwarming, which made the experience even more special. We’re planning to visit their other business as well to continue supporting their story and what they’re building.
After trying to get a table across the street at the related restaurant, we wandered over here and got a seat right away. They have indoor and outdoor tables, and plenty of people outside with their pups. There's a full bar to sit at, as well. I had a rambunctious 4-year-old with me and the staff were all really patient with him, which is always appreciated. We split the Waffletella...🤤 it was AMAZING. The strawberries and were so fresh. Everyone in my group was happy with their own meals. The much-needed coffee was tasty, too.
Highlights: garlic bread (super good); Burrata and prosciutto; pizza (Vinny's has too many greens on it, but the crust is delicious); Vodka Rigatoni (sauce is sooo decadent); meatballs; Amatriciana (good but it would be better with traditional guanciale, which is fattier, instead of pancetta); lemon donut (one of the best desserts I've had in LA; the warm lemon sauce is sooooo good). Wouldn't get again: Cacio e Pepe (honestly the worst I've ever had; noodles clumped together; cheese not flavorful as if it's vegan; can barely taste the pepper); tiramisu (it's bad: cream to cake ratio way too high; too much of a "Crisco" coating your mouth texture). The ambiance is very nice, especially sitting at the large marble bar. Drinks are very good, service is very good. Food comes out super quickly. Demographic surprisingly young. To-go containers would be better if they were plastic airtight containers. Other similar restaurants do this (e.g., Colapasta).
Everything we had there was excellent. There are amazing cocktail options (I had a wonderful old fashioned). My husband appreciated the 0.0ABV beer option and the mocktail was good. The food was excellent - he asked for extra spicy and they delivered! The pasta was cooked well (not mushy) and the brussle sprouts were nicely done. The server was attentive, funny, and helpful. We cannot wait to return!
Great spot to fix your pasta/pizza cravings. Their pasta & pizza & garlic bread hits the spot! I can’t say the same about their Cesar salad unfortunately. Just felt like I was eating chunks of romaine with croutons. But service & ambience was great. I’ve been here for both dinner and happy hour & it’s a bit more on the pricier side. Nonetheless, will definitely be back!
Im sorry but the anchovie pasta was the worst I ever had. The spaghetti was overcooked and there were no anchovies inside, only the taste. The tomatoes were canned and left on the side. They also put parmesan cheese on the top when it should have been left up to the customer to add or not. 🤦♀️The parmesan made more horrible the taste 🤦♀️The bolognese was so so……5out of 10 !
