Opinions de Midori Sushi Los Angeles
My friends brought me here for my birthday for all you can eat. I loved the quality of the sushi even though it was all you can eat. Had some unique selections of sashimi and the waitress was very very attentive and they were quick. We took our time too and there was not a rushed feeling like there is at other all you can eat restaurants
Best all you can eat thx midori Sushi, I give everything 5 Stars (except wasn’t too crazy about the baked salmon roll/ I didn’t know what they were at first 🤔) excellent service not sure why everyone has been complaining about service. Yes they included tip in the bill which was fine, because lots of people are inconsiderate and don’t tip so I have no problem with this. 🥰😘 🍣
Baby roll was delicious and dessert fresh very tasty.
Great all you can eat sushi with huge variety. Friendly and helpful staff.
Wooow all you can eat really worth it! $35-45 depends on the day lunch or dinner. You can choose any kind of sushi, appetizers, soups Woow!
I have been eating in Midori for more than 20 years, ever since they had 3 branches! This is by far my favorite sushi place in LA - the rolls are always fresh, tasty and big and their prices are reasonable, if not on the lower end. Nothing but good things to say about this place!! Hope they stay in business forever and please keep the all-you-can-eat deal - it is amazing!
Best sushi rolls on this side of town! The service is hit or miss but they are trying :D They don’t take reservations for parties less than 10, so just walk in and get on the waitlist. Parking at the plaza can be a pain, very few spaces, but there’s always street poring available (meters on Ventura or free street parking on the small streets).
Nice sushi bar. Reasonable prices and the food was real good.
Came here for lunch and really enjoyed everything. It was $35.99 which is a great deal and all the fish was tasty snd the chefs took good care of me. They also have an insane happy hour from 12pm-2pm with cheap beers if you want to drink. Def worth it and the menu options are great. Will be back again.
A Truly Exceptional Dining Experience at Midori Sushi Midori Sushi is a true gem, offering a perfect blend of high-quality ingredients, innovative dishes, and a welcoming atmosphere. From the moment you walk in, the service is impeccable—attentive without being intrusive, with staff eager to offer insightful recommendations. The fish quality is outstanding; the Salmon Nigiri melted in my mouth, and the Yellowtail Sashimi with Serrano was an absolute masterclass in balancing freshness with a spicy kick. For those looking for something unique, I highly recommend one of their specialty rolls, such as the Roberto Special Roll (if you're at the Evanston location) or the Midori Roll (a popular choice in Mount Pleasant) which are creative and expertly crafted. Beyond the sushi, don't overlook their fantastic non-sushi offerings. The Beef Sukiyaki (where available) is a comforting classic, and the appetizers like the Firecracker Shrimp are crisp and flavorful. Whether you're a sushi aficionado or new to Japanese cuisine, Midori delivers a dining experience that feels both refined and satisfying. It’s easily one of the best sushi spots in the area and a definite must-visit.
I’m in town visiting from South Carolina so decided to try this place as an avid lover of sushi. It was fresh and delicious. Quick service, beautiful presentation. Great atmosphere with fast and friendly service. I got a TNT Roll which had tempura shrimp and spicy tuna with crunch flakes and eel sauce on top, a Trio Roll with tuna inside and out plus avocado on top and a #4 Roll with spicy tuna and salmon plus cilantro drizzle on top.
I’ve been going to Midori Sushi for their All-You-Can-Eat special for over 10 years when my fam introduced me to their restaurants back when I was in high school. Their restaurant back then made me fall in love with sushi, mainly nigiri and not just the rolls us growing up in LA are used to. Went there today for my 28th birthday and their quality and service stood the test of time and is some of the best sushi I ever had in The Valley 818 area. They had 3 restaurants all on Ventura Blvd (Studio City, Sherman Oaks, and Encino area) I went to this Studio City location where parking is a bit tight but I highly recommend going there right before they open at 12pm for lunch. They close 230pm and reopen at 5pm for dinner. Prices are $40-$50 for the weekend and I believe somewhere between $35-$40 on weekdays, so if you want to save a bit of money definitely go on the weekdays. However, even though I went on a Saturday right at 12pm when they open, it was worth it and my friend and I were one of the first ones there. Historically, when I was in high school and college I was able to make the most bang for my buck and get my moneys worth 2-3x over from the AYCE because of my pacing techniques. I do say I’ve slowed down in metabolism lol over the years of just getting older. There are 3 rounds that you can order (in a 2 hour time limit window) and what I did see newly added as of September 2025 is that theres a limit of 10 orders per round…which is fair considering the amount of sushi one can eat. It was my friends’ first time and the 3 rounds of AYCE sushi was just right. Great selection of appetizers are included, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE BAKED MUSSELS. And there’s also a new thing I ordered later on in the 3rd round which is their “Premium” Sushi selection and it was delicious and nice to try the bluefin tuna (1 pc) and halibut (2 pc) right before I ended with the heaviest but tastiest and favorite roll of mine which is the Baked Salmon Roll (8 pc). BIG TIP for pacing, only drink water (and try not to drink too much water to get full) instead of soda/other drinks. Limit the amount of rice you eat. And lastly only order the heaviest rolls with the most sauce and most rice at the 3rd and final round. The friendly server recommended that next time I order the “Premium” sushi to try on the first round so I am not so full haha but no worries we finished our food regardless. The first 2 rounds were nothing but nigiri, PLENTY of Salmon and plenty of Baked Mussels and Tempura appetizers. The best nigiri imo is the Salmon, and cant go wrong. However, the tastiest is probably the Cajun Albacore soooo good seasoning and spicy jalapeño kick, and the Seared Tuna very thicc piece of fish. Highly recommend this place for All-You-Can-Eat sushi lovers that want the most bang for their buck. The pieces of fish quality was flavorful, buttery, fresh and the rice was nice warm and vinegary. Stood the test of time and will be going back on special occasions great place to eat and celebrate especially if you are on an empty stomach, dont go if you cant handle the AYCE because wasted rice is I believe a penalty haha Also I told them it was my birthday and they gave 2 free strawberry mochi ice cream with whipped cream and a candle, thank you so much!! -Love LaynoProd
I’ve been coming to Midori Sushi for years, and they never disappoint. The food is always fresh and delicious, and the service is consistently friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!
Great place. Sushi is very fresh. Has an "All you can eat" buffet.
I had a great time here! The food was delicious and the servers were helpful. They had plenty of choices, even for the all you can eat! We did eat a lot, even having some ramen on the side. I will definitely be back! There is "valet" parking so I just found a spot on the street. Otherwise it's $6+ and it's not worth that at all. But the food is top notch! They brought back AYCE (All You Can Eat) with a 15% gratuity charge.
Best sushi in the valley. Hands downs. My fiance and I have been following them since they had Haruya Izakaya in Studio City. Everything is so fresh and tasty! Hot Night Roll, House Roll are a must and of course regular sushi like any of the belly sushis (so albacore, salmon, yellowtail) are a must too because they just melt in your mouth!
A truly underrated spot. Their food is absolutely delicious. We've been here 3 times and every time the knock it out of the park. Their sushi is fresh, delicate and exquisite. Their tempura is crispy and a great starter. Lastly their rolls are stellar. Anything with eel or salmon is perfection and the combination of flavors meld so well, its outstanding I don't hear their name more often. To top it off the service is spectacular. They are attentive and curtious, but also efficient and kind. You honestly can't go wrong with anything on their menu.
I absolutely love this place. It's small with low lighting and the food is amazing. They have an all you can eat which I believe is from 11am-2pm. The location have a very small parking lot so find meter parking.
$45 dinner all you can eat is really worth it, I usually eat 2 to 3 rolls max but it's still a good deal. Staff is nice, food is fresh, been going to their multiple locations for years.
Excellent food and service. From the very moment that my friend and I sat down, our waitress greeted us with a pleasant smile and made certain that we were well taken of as well as the management. The outside seating was quite comfortable and clean and the food was simply to die for!! You get so much for what you pay for and I highly recommend that you all experience this great place.
This place was great! I arrived@ 11:40 just after they opened and the place was empty... perfect! Sat at the bar and ordered from the AYCE menu. My sushi guy was great, the Lakers highlights were on, place was quiet, clean, food was great, service was spot-on, and the $25 price tag was well worth it. The Good: I had several speciality rolls, the mussel appetizer, salmon, halibut, and spicy tuna sushi, topped it all off with the jalapeno poppers. EVERYTHING WAS GREAT! I walked out a fat-&-full pet with a smile and no need to eat dinner. So all-in-all I saved money cuz it was $12.50 for lunch and another $12.50 for dinner. The Bad: 1) It's a 1hr time limit for AYCE, don't know if this is enforced but its posted on menu rules. 2) If you go with a party, everyone has to order AYCE. If it's busy and your chatting it up, that hour goes quick. 3) Also there are a couple of up-charges on a few of the premium items and other menu items are 1/2 orders for the AYCE, so be aware. 4) Parking is an issue, they have metered street parking if you don't get a spot in the small strip-mall parking area. $6 valet if you want to go that route. Pro Tips: 1) I recommend you go for lunch alone and gauge the quality & atmosphere for yourself before inviting a party. 2) If time is an issue, order some sushi and appetizers when you order drinks then hit them with your full order of rolls all at once so that you save time, the chefs get busy.

My go to sushi place. Been coming here for many years. Consistently fresh and delicious. The AYCE can’t be beat. Better than others in SFV in terms of food, menu, price, and service. I prefer the ayce dinner option even during lunch. Always planning my next visit.
Apple was our server and she was amazing! I was in town from Las Vegas with my boyfriend and she made our first experience so memorable. The food was delicious & the atmosphere is top tier. Thank you Apple 😊

Great all you can eat sushi with huge variety. Friendly and helpful staff.
We've been customers since it opened...since the Studio City spot was around. A favorite for our birthdays, but the last few times the rolls are just fat with rice. This last visit we ordered a la carte, and still thick with rice...not properly wrapped or tightened and the rolls fell apart. I think the quality has diminished quite a bit.
This small quaint sushi spot right off Ventura Blvd is a great low key experience. The Sushi rolls were delicious and prepared very well. The vibe is casual, the service is prompt and friendly, and the overall experience was really nice. I can’t wait to go there again!
First time here and was taken care of making sure I understood the all you can eat..sushi was good quality, service was on point.. only thing I didnt like was the drinks.. they dont have fountain drinks, u have to buy a can of coke everytime...as much as u pay unlimited soft drinks would be nice too....$36 per person for AYCE during lunch time

Do all you can eat option the fish qualities just okay
I usually come here for the all-you-can-eat option, but the service really depends on the day. There seem to be more restrictions now, and honestly, it used to be better before.
Our second visit was a total disaster, unfortunately
Waiters took forever to take our paper. Had a couple pieces left at the end they were threatening to charge us if we didn’t finish.
I don’t know if its just me or everything just taste like sesame oil. I think they do that on purpose so you can’t eat a lot of it because you will feel bloated and sick. Miso soup was too salty. Shame staff was friendly, atmosphere was good. But the food is just taste the same. I wanted to taste the fish not sesame oil.
This place was one of my favorites but Unfortunately there sushi is not good anymore. I ordered the raw salmon pieces and it taste so bad thar i was like I can't eat this. Every other sushi we order tasted weird. So my sister and I decided not to order anything else and just get the check since we had order all you can eat. . The price was pretty high but I was disappointed how bad the sushi tasted and not only that but it took a while for them to bring it . Literally I left 2 pieces that I didnt finish and manager told me are still working on it and I said no sorry I can't eat it it taste pretty bad so he looked at me and said its all you can eat no left overs next time tell me earlier. I was like I am telling you why I didnt eat it because it was bad . Like I dont understand what was the big deal. . I paid I was not gokng to eat bad sushi and get sick . So disappointed. I dont know what happen to this place but its not the midori that had great sushi.
Today was such a disappointment, the food tasted old, not one dish we ordered was good. The only thing we liked was the miso soup. What a waste of $120. The service was great and quick. Probably the only good thing I can say about this place.

Still the age old fact of finding a good sushi restaurant in the SF Valley, Midori is quite disappointing if you look at the details. On the surface, this location is a hustle bustle of a joint with folks that may not know better. The pre-cut slices of fish, they have a odd staff of individuals who will slap the pre-cut fish onto some formed riced to serve nagiri. Yes, the fact is that there are no sushi chefs at this sushi restaurant is the first and utmost important concern. The vast selection of rolls are plenty and served large. The all you can eat option is priced and designed to be most profitable. I have to give them props for the business design. Stuff your clients with large cost effective rolls or serve nagiri with pre-cut thinly sliced fish is a win win ... For the restaurant. As pallotable as this may be for the area, my two visits still didn't produce a favorable response from my nerves nor my taste buds. I'm a traditionalist, and find it offensive that I can't come to terms to blaming the machine that sliced the fish, or how ever else they had prepared the sushi. My visit was furthermore frustrating after being served an order of toro nagiri that looked like it was slapped around, stepped on, and then placed on top of rice. The service was nice, but I usually go out to eat looking forward to good food and good service.
Really disappointing. I have been going to midori for over 10 years. They advertise that all you can eat lunch is until 2:30pm. I arrived 1:36pm and they said they stop seating for lunch at 1:30. That’s super weird because that’s a whole hour before lunch closes. But I asked them can they make an exception because it’s literally just 5 mins. The chef was there and he abruptly said no and walked away. It was so rude and such a disappointing experience. I remember midori being an amazing place and the owner was always so nice. Too bad they replaced them with people who don’t care about the customers. I am not going to come back here, guess I’ll find another sushi place.
**Disappointed and Sick After Dining at Midori Sushi** I had a really unpleasant experience at Midori Sushi recently. The food quality was far from amazing—the sushi didn't taste fresh, and some of the items had an off-putting texture. Unfortunately, not long after my meal, I became extremely sick. It was clear that something I ate didn't agree with me, and I was left feeling terrible for the rest of the day. To make matters worse, despite getting sick from the food, I was still charged for everything without any acknowledgment or apology from the staff. I expected better service, especially in light of the situation. I won't be returning, and I definitely can't recommend this place to anyone looking for good sushi or a safe dining experience.
We’ve been to this restaurant many times in the past and enjoyed their sushi. We always eat a la cart. We ate there last night, 10/28/23, and the sushi was not good. The spicy tuna rice cake, our family favorite, tasted like it was pre made because the crispy rice was cold. This establishment totally lost their pride. The service was poor but don’t worry, they still get a tip. They charge 15% tip automatically. My family and I decided that we will never go there again and I recommend that anyone don’t go there either. There are many other sushi restaurants in and around Sherman Oaks that are way better.
Came in for the AYCE. The food was good, but there's no verity. It's pretty much just California rolls with toppings. The actual fish is good but basic. The biggest heck no is the mandatory tip. I wouldn't mind it, but the service was far from good. It's definitely not worth it take your hunger elsewhere. Oh, and if you're taking your baby/toddler, they stress, and I mean stare you down that you can't give them a single rice grain, or you will get charged full price. They definitely need work on the customer service.
Sever food poisoning afterwards , I used to love this place but portions and quality is on a decline .
The place has changed a lot. It’s become rude and unorganized. The food isn’t as good as it used to be either. Being their guests for many years won’t bring me back again!
This sushi restaurant is usually one of the best, but today was a horrible experience. There was a long line outside just to get in, so we decided to place a to-go order instead. The waiter told us it would take 10–15 minutes, but we ended up waiting for about an hour. When we finally got the food, everything was cold — even the soup and baked mussels, which should have been hot. It was really disappointing, especially since their food is normally excellent. If you plan to eat here, make sure to check in advance and book a table. The quality is great when dining in, but today’s takeout experience was far from what we expected

I understand it’s Valentine’s Day, that’s why I called them before I went there to make sure that they have AYCE, arrived 30 mins later and they’re telling me that I have 30 mins before they get busy and won’t serve me after the time expires. Well wasted time on Saturday during my lunch break.
