Gordy is absolutely amazing and such a pleasure, not to mention has wonderful customer service. Hands down the absolute best in the valley!! Everything on the menu is delicious! Made fresh to order and the portions are out of this world. Gordy ‘s SeaBass Delight with Lobster Mac and Collards Greens is guaranteed to be one of the best meals you’ll ever eat!
My mom wanted fried fish while we were in San Fernando Valley, my sister suggested I goggle fried fish and we found "My Fish Stop". The food was delicious and the service great. The young lady behind the counter was polite, patient and point out the specials on the menu. We will be returning, maybe next time I can get pictures before we start eating. LOL
I found this place almost by accident while looking for another spot recommended to me and I'm so glad I dedicded to try them out. The food is delicious I can only speak for the amazing portion of Catfish l, fried perfectly and the Candied Yams I had been missing since I moved out here from Virginia. Their Lobster Mac just topped off an amazing meal that I'm making a staple no matter where I live in LA. If you can make it by this wonderful place with even great workers please do! You won't be disappointed!
The food was so good ! I loved the customer service. Only thing I didn’t really like the lobster Mac. It was probably the best one around though lol. My first time trying it and I’m just use to traditional Mac and cheese is all but the man can cook so everything was really delicious and I will be back definitely
🇺🇸 MISSISSIPPI, USA (via Eat the World Los Angeles) - The fish in question at this stop, or more accurately the preparation style, is born in Mississippi. And for southerners of that state who have relocated west or any travelers that have taken the Blues Highway along the Mississippi River towards the delta in Louisiana, this fish stop is going to turn into their fish stop. In a state where most freshwater sources carry plenty of catfish, this is the name of the game here as well, bringing back memories of the greasy spoons in every small Mississippi town that serves fried fish meals.
Great flavorful food, had the catfish combo, the fish was very well made but the fries were soft and soggy

Update: The customer service was still amazing and this time so was the food! After our bad experience at the Van Nuys location, the owner Harris was very accommodating and requested that we give his fish stop another chance. Upon returning to fish stop, the portions were so much larger and the side dishes tasted amazing. The greens were still quite a bit spicy, but I was able to taste more than just spice, there were so many other good flavors in them. I think it would be helpful if there were a disclaimer that they are spicy and delicious. I would definitely recommend that you give fish stop a try! Thanks again, Harris for being awesome! The customer service was awesome, but the food was very disappointing. We got the Carmen family deal with 2 pounds of catfish and two sides for $45. The catfish was good, but the portions were small. It came with six pieces, but they looked like halves of fillets instead of full fillets. The macaroni was good, but needed some salt. There were only enough greens for one person and they were so spicy that they were barely edible, They had me running to my catfish with hot sauce on it for reprieve..
I would’ve shared photos, but I ate so quickly and enjoyed every single bite! The shrimp was excellent. I didn’t have to use any condiment because it was seasoned so well as well as the greens were so good that I actually drank what we call the pot liquor, and then the Mac was hidden so overall it was just what my body and spirit needed ! I ate the entire meal. I usually will save some for the leftovers , but not so in this case! Now I’m getting ready to get up here and lay down and enjoy this new Eddie Murphy and Keke Palmer movie!

Awesome food Great owner Nice menu and portions. The only thing keeping this place from receive 5 stars is the fact that the Lobster Mac n Cheese is made with imitation lobster.
Only gave a 4 stars because you can't buy less than a pound of fish, only a pound or more. I only wanted 1/4 pound for myself and could not eat or use a full pound. Other than that, I got the Delta which is 2 catfish filets and two sides. I had the lobster Mac n cheese and collards. The fish was good, seasoned well but a tad bit on the small side. The greens were spicy and the Mac n cheese had lobster and was very good. It was also very rich so I couldn't eat it all. I chatted with the co-owner Maria, and she was so very nice. I enjoyed my meal and would go back

It was so nice meeting Jeremy He's so warm, helpful and friendly. He was working alone trying to get things done. I'm looking for a great fish fry place for when I don't want to drive passed my apartment to go to Fishbone which I love so much. Sherman Oaks is on the way home so looking for spot there. The menu looked awesome. Unfortunately, everything was kind of flavorless. Everything being grilled salmon (very oily), Mac n cheese and greens. I had to add a lot more spices to enjoy. They don't touch Fishbone but I'd go back just to talk with Jeremy. I've order something different and see.

I ordered the fish and chips happy hour special - the first was decent however really greasy and a little tough but what do you expect from fried fish? I got the cod. The french fries were fresh, but soggy upon arrival they’re not that far from me so I was a little surprised, but the lobster mac & cheese was the worst! The macaroni was very mushy and overcooked and whatever lobster they put in there tasted extremely fishy. I threw it out. I was really disappointed because I read the reviews and everyone raved about the lobster mac & cheese. It was my first time trying them maybe next time I’ll go in person next time. Not a great first impression

It never fails whenever I order from here my order is never right. I just ordered Teo orders off of DoorDash. They only delivered one of my orders which was the red snapper, fries and lobster Mac and cheese. The portions they give for what you pay is laughable. They gave me a total of 8 small French fries. I tried call the restaurant to see why DoorDash didn’t deliver my full order but they don’t even answer the phone for you. I spent $40 and got a snapper plate that looks like it’s worth $7.00. Save your money and your time and avoid from ordering here. The fish isn’t even that good, it’s decent. I can’t even get full off this meal.

I had such hope for this place based on the reviews. I got the Rebel with lobster mac and cheese, and coleslaw as the two sides. All delivered via Postmates. The pros: It was quick and piping hot. Sadly, that’s where it ended. The cons: The fried catfish and fillet where indistinguishable from one another as far as flavor… they and the shrimp were coated in a mixture of so much salt and so much pepper that after five bites…I couldn’t take it anymore. Pretty sure my blood pressure went through the roof on the sodium overload within the first minute, and the flavor was pure “salt-burn-and-pepper-hot”. The coleslaw is ineible. It is the worst coleslaw ever had in my life… It is so unpleasant…can’t quite put my finger on what it is that’s included in their coleslaw that makes it have this bitterness beyond the bitterness of cabbage kind of watery and “weak” as well. The lobster mac & cheese is a glop of broken up shards of macaroni noodle, possibly shell shaped pasta in there as well; it’s mushy and overcooked. And the lobster is in little shreds and threads. We expected a nice solid mac & cheese with chunks or at least separate and distinguishable pieces of lobster. Additionally, it has the taste and viscosity of Velveeta cheese. So so so bad. All in edible a complete and total waste of the money we spent on this so-called meal. The pieces of fish are so thin that they’re mainly breading… I tried to peel of the breading to feed the fish to my cat, but couldn’t free more the crumbles from the breading since… there was hardly any fish. She ate a bit of it… then hopped away and threw it up. Oh my.
After going to the NoHo location, last week, and finding it closed, I walked in today to place a takeout order (a Catfish Po Boy and a small Lobster Mac.) What a HUuuuuuGE disappointment and a waste of money!!!! One SUPER-emaciated and poorly-seasoned catfish was laying in the middle of a hollowed-out LaJolla IGigante Torta bun (that the cook said they were using for the first time), amidst some shredded lettuce and a sauce that still has my stomach churning. And as far as the Lobster Mac goes... the small-sized container was just a little over half-way full (enough to feed a 3 or 4 year old, and the macaroni shells were rubbery, tasteless, and just bad! Needless to say, I found the meal so inferior that I had to toss it. It was not fit for human consumption. My Fish Stop (NoHo) should seriously consider hiring someone who specializes in Quality Control, because there's no reason why patrons should pay good money for bad food.
Was very excited for some southern cuisine in the valley. First of all there was an overwhelming amount of mustard on the shrimp po boy. The catfish didn’t taste fresh. And wow the lobster Mac and cheese tasted old. It seemed like they used 3 day old lobster. The greens were spicy with no real flavor. I will say the yams were good.
They had me waiting 20 minutes outside of the restaurant during business hours with a “Will return soon” sign in the window. Chef or owner lets us in without speaking, then gets rude to a customer that change the music after she apologizes. He wanted to hear his type of music instead of cooking the food i guess! I will never come back here, ever! Customer service is #1 and this Fish Shop doesn’t have that

Let me start of by saying the customer service was great nice atmosphere. However the food was terrible I wouldn't recommend anyone spend their money here. I ordered a red snapper Po boy the flavor of the fish was a 4/10 and the Mac and cheese is what brought me here because it was horrendous and somewhat putrid. In my opinion a store like this would not survive in south central Los Angeles. I'd be surprised to see if this store was still standing in 2026
My Husband and I are from the Carolinas/Tennessee and found this restaurant when searching for seafood. I saw the overall rating and read a few reviews (maybe not enough) but thought this would be a safe spot to try. The pictures made it all look delicious. BOY were we wrong. My Husband and I both got “The Rebel.” Catfish nuggets, shrimp, hush puppies and lobster mac. I thought the shrimp would be a good breaded and flavorful shrimp, but to my surprise, it tasted like they had been dipped it in a little salt and pepper with some plain bread crumbs…no flavor whatsoever. Same thing with the catfish…it had more of a breading than the shrimp, but it was very flavorless, nothing stood out about it. The lobster mac…good Lord. I can’t even describe the flavor, it was so nasty. It was like eating mush with some cheap spicy cheese sauce and lobster flavored rubber. Hush puppies were the safest thing on the plate…not great, but still edible. Disappointed doesn’t even describe how I feel…we spent over $50 for food I wouldn’t even feed the neighborhood cat. Maybe it’s their IDEA of a southern seafood joint? They have obviously never been to the real south.
I placed an online order because your location was marked as open, but when I arrived, the doors were closed. It would be appreciated if customers were notified when the business is not operating. This lack of communication may explain why the location appears inactive.
