Opinions de Restaurant at The Getty Center Los Angeles
Everything that we had here was delicious. It’s a small menu but the quality is better than the quantity of items. Staff all made us feel very welcome, very attentive and warm service. Beautiful dishes and fantastic desserts.
The Mexican bowl is pretty good, enjoyed it with a good view and the sunshine!
Had a lovely lunch at the Getty museum restaurant—great view, relaxed atmosphere, and good food. Best was their seasonal salad: a beautiful mix of textures that tasted as good as it looked. If you visit, definitely try the salad—it’s light but satisfying and pairs perfectly with wandering the galleries afterward.
One of my favorites. Staff is attentive, knowledgeable and overall wonderful. The atmosphere is calm and the view is wildly scenic. The food was amazing. They were serving the bass this time around, perfectly prepared. Dessert was great as well, involuntary expletives abound. Wonderful place with wonderful people.
The view is spectacular. You are paying for the view when you eat here. I had a pork banh mi (traditional Vietnamese sandwich with a slight twist) - it was good but you are definitely paying a bit more for the atmosphere. The glass of cabernet wine 🍷 went well with my sandwich. Friend had a healthy salad.
Hello, I visited the restaurant around 6 p.m. today. I ate 1 pasta and 1 fish dish and paid for it. But on my way home, I canceled my card payment at the restaurant. Why is that? I paid 86.7 dollars. I ate well, but I canceled my payment at the restaurant. It's really weird. If you see this, please write down the restaurant's email address.
“The Restaurant at The Getty Center" offers a truly luxurious dining experience. The food was exceptional, with each dish thoughtfully prepared and bursting with flavor. The stunning view of Los Angeles added an unforgettable touch, making it perfect for a special occasion. The staff were friendly, polite, and attentive, adding to the upscale atmosphere. Their wine selection is outstanding, catering to even the most discerning palate. While the experience is on the expensive side and service was a bit slow, it’s well worth it for the quality, ambiance, and overall experience. Highly recommend for a sophisticated and memorable meal!
Really amazing food, and a wonderful atmosphere! I got the tuna tartare and sugar pumpkin and goat cheese agnolotti with duck confit. The tuna was nice (I always forget that I'm not actually a tuna fan), but the agnolotti was a game changer. The duck confit was so rich, and the pasta had a wonderful chewy texture... The little bits of pomegranate really popped and helped keep the dish from becoming too rich. I also got the 'Chestnut rocks' dessert, which... Was far more rock like than I anticipated. It was creamy and tasty inside a thin shell though; really well executed and interesting!
Went for lunch on Saturday and no problems getting a seat. The striped bass was gluten free and fantastic. They even had gluten free crackers for us. Others in the party without dietary restrictions had the mushroom tart. All loved the food. Desert was the Chestnut Rocks we shared and it was wonderful. Great wine and beer selections as well as soft drinks. View is spectacular. $100 for the 2 of us not including the tip. Open for lunch Tuesday to Sunday, only open for dinner on Saturday. Recommend making reservations.
Had a wonderful meal at the Getty Center Terrace restaurant. The food was fresh, flavorful, and inventive. My salmon was cooked to a perfect medium. Wine was superb. Dessert was extravagant. There are plenty of gluten-free and dairy-free options. The ambience is light, airy, and positive. Views are spectacular of the surrounding hills. Truly an incredible all-around dining experience.
The Restaurant at the Getty Center is a gem! I love coming here for lunch for fine dining. We have come here to celebrate an Anniversary or Birthday, or just to get a fine dining experience! Reservations were made easily online. We showed up 20 minutes early, but the staff said it was perfect timing and brought us in immediately. The menu changes very few months and I love the choices the chef makes each Season. The staff is VERY Attentive, kind, polite, and not intrusive. We each ordered an appetizer and a main course and shared a dessert! The LOVE LOVE LOVE their desserts. The chef always produces a work of edible art, so ask the staff! I truly felt like my birthday was a special one, thanks to THE RESTAURANT. I highly recommend going at lunch during the week. On weekends, the menu changes to a Brunch Menu. We prefer the weekday menu.
This place is really a bit of a hidden gem within a larger gem! We came here for the first time in March of 2023, and have returned every two months since then. The food is first class, surprisingly affordable, and with a good wine list. The view is breathtaking (try to get a window table), and the service is both personable and knowledgeable. And afterwards The Getty is a nice place to walk off a few calories.
My parents were in town so decided to take them to the Getty, and even better their restaurant. Service was fabulous! The ambiance was lovely. The food was out of this world. Everything was amazing and entertaining as well. I recommend the halibut, scallops, beet salad, and flourless dessert. Simply amazing!
Service was top notch, the food was perfectly prepared with fresh ingredients and the view on the patio is spectacular. I ordered the Pastrami hash with a Manhattan and my wife ordered eggs Benedict with a mushroom soup. Everything was delicious, but be sure you love mushrooms if you order the soup, because that is exactly what it is! Desert was delicious as well.
Had lunch here before heading into the Getty Center, and it was a perfect choice. The restaurant has high ceilings and big windows all around, letting in tons of natural light and offering great views. The menu was straightforward but had enough variety to choose from. • Getty Cobb Salad: Loved the addition of apple and blue cheese—it added a nice twist. • Crispy Pork Belly Bun: Totally forgot to snap a photo, but my friend couldn’t stop raving about it. The pork belly was tender and moist. • Pasta with Braised Short Ribs: The meat was tender and flavorful, and the pasta was perfectly al dente. • Organic Roasted Chicken with Rosemary and Thyme: This was the standout dish. The skin was crispy, and the meat was juicy and flavorful. It came with a vegetable shepherd’s pie that had sweet diced veggies under mashed potatoes and carrots—really tasty. Service was friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. Overall, a great place to grab a relaxed lunch before exploring the museum.
We had a 7 pm reservation on Saturday night. The restaurant was 25-30% filled. The 2 appetizers & 1 dessert were amazing. The 3 entrees were mostly misses - too much salt all 3 & my medium steak was overcooked. The tuna tartare & grilled octopus were excellent. Tuna tartare was light & refreshing. The grilled octopus was smoky & cooked perfectly, tender & not chewy. The accompanying arugula salad mix & dressing were matched perfectly for a balanced taste. The star of the meal was the chestnut river rocks dessert. The mochi like rocks in 2 contrasting colors were filled with a dense chestnut mousse, accompanied with a brown sugar crumble underneath with a touch of blueberry honey sauce. As you can see the presentation is top chef worthy. Next time we will order small plates, salads, & desserts.
The views are breath-taking, the food is scrumptious, and the service is outstanding. I can highly recommend the Wagyu Burger, Cheese Board, Cobb Salad, and the Cold Gazpacho soup. The Cheese Board itself is a symphony of flavours that's worth the visit. Given the panoramic views of Los Angeles, and the excellent food, no visit to the Getty would be complete without dining here. It is moderately expensive, but just about worth it.
Restaurant at a unique location that could be really awesome and it is just good because of lack of attention to detail The goods: - wine selection (they had a seasonal rose menu) and cocktails (yummy) - view: the terrace is truly a great place to be in - service: all waiters were super nice - pasta was great The non so good: - The bread in our cheeseboard was not only not fresh, it was cold and hard as a rock. This is an unfortunate because the cheese and the almonds in the board were actually great, but when you are paying >$100/person this is unacceptable. There are hundreds of awesome bakeries in LA that will happily cater fresh whole wheat sourdough to the restaurant, choose one and fix it please! - The chicken in my Caesar salad was cold and wasn’t tender at all. For this price I expect freshly grilled first quality chicken. Again, unfortunate because the rest of the salad was great I hope when I come back these drawbacks are fixed. Really wanted to love this place and it has potential
Pricey $$$. $20 for cocktails, $27 eggs Benedict, $9 side potatoes, $13 glass of sparkling water. Eggs Benedict was good, the salad it came with tasted like actual dirt, potatoes were tasty, and the cocktail was not worth $20…..cocktail was not balanced with the flavors just overwhelming taste of whiskey.
After walking around the Getty, most of the morning, I decided to grab some lunch from the restaurant. I read that this location had the best views of LA. The restaurant is beautiful and does indeed of the best views. Service is a tad slow but friendly. After waiting several minutes to be acknowledged after sitting down, the waitress appeared and said she'd be with me in a moment. Several minutes later, she appeared, and gentlemen next to me snagged her first so he could check on his food because he had been waiting for a while. I knew when I she came back that I had to order everything I wanted then. The menu items are seasonal. I ordered the California Nicoise Salad (Girl & Dug Farm lettuces, avocado, ninja radish, egg, haricot vert, marble potato, Champagne vinaigrette, fines herbes and added chilled Dijon baked salmon), Manhattan, and sparkling water. Overall, it's not a horrible salad. It was very beautiful! The salmon was cooked to perfection, and I was happy that it wasn't cold. The dressing was tasty as well. My issue was with the marble potatoes. Cold unseasoned potatoes are not good on a salad. I tried adding salt and pepper, but eventually, I moved them aside so that I could enjoy the rest of the salad.
My husband, daughter, and I came to Los Angeles for a trip. For lunch, I look forward to leaving them wonderful memories, so we chose a restaurant with the highest reviews nearby. However, I did not expect that the waiters here would treat customers differently. I think this is the first racism I'd encountered since arriving in Los Angeles.I would like to say that most of the people I met in Los Angeles are friendly, but in this restaurant, people should know these facts about this it. 1. The waiter will only ask you what kind of meat you want in the noodles, but does not tell you that you need to pay extra for beef, and it is not marked on the menu 2. Add water When the water spilled out, there was no explanation and no reaction 3. The waiters at several tables nearby asked friendly questions about today's dishes, but they didn't come to ask us. 4. The soup bowl and spoon here don't match. From a professional point of view, the spoon should be longer. 5. No cutlery provided for children 6. When I asked to pay the bill, the waiter said it would be settled right away, but actually chatted with a colleague for 3 minutes. I don’t think I will go to a restaurant like this. The service here cannot match the beautiful scenery here, and it also fails to live up to the trust and choice of tourists. I have the right not to tip based on this treatment, people need to say no to this kind of racism. I have reason to believe that this restaurant only wants to accept locals as customers.
