We had our company party here last Saturday and everybody had a great time. I don't expect great service with a party of fourteen but that is exactly what we got. From the greeting as we all eventually made our way in to the drinks, entree and eventually desert, we were well taken care of. Thank you so much!

I had such a great experience at SOL Mexican Restaurant in Playa Vista! The service was impressively fast, very attentive, and genuinely friendly ~ never had to wait long for anything, which made the whole visit feel effortless and enjoyable. The food was delicious, full of flavor, and the happy hour options were a really nice bonus. I also loved the overall vibe of the place ~ relaxed, lively, and perfect for a casual meal or a fun evening out. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to! 🌮 🌽 🇲🇽 ✨

If you’re looking for a cute date spot with your boo, SOL Mexican Cocina is a great place to go. Not only is the food fresh and the drinks are spot on, but at night the ambiance is very chill and romantic. I highly recommend finding a spot outside next to the fireplace. The service is also great! The servers are very attentive and the timing of drinks to appetizers to main meal is perfect.

Highly recommend this restaurant for Happy Hour or Taco Tuesday! I tried this location out with a friend we both ordered two alcoholic drinks (forgot to take a picture) and way more food than what is pictured here and spent less than $100 (we split the bill evenly). The customer service was awesome. You have the option of making a reservation which we did as a precaution. It seems like a pretty popular location. Aesthetically, this is a rest nice venue. I could imagine having a larger gathering here. They have private spaces that can booked in advance for bigger parties. There is plenty of parking nearby on the street but, there is a garage available as well. We did have a hard time locating the restaurant because there are a bunch of other business. GPS was not so helpful but, if you get lost ask for help. The food was absolutely delicious!

Excellent Food inspired by the coastal cooking of Baja, extraordinary service, beautiful location and relaxing vibe. Food: On this occasion (photos from October 2023 - I have visited this location at least 5 times), I ordered the Sol Steak Fajita which is served with borracho black beans & red rice. Steak was cooked and seasoned to perfection at exactly the right temperature. Chips are made friendly and are "endless" along with salsa. The black bean dip is amazing, and you should definitely try the guacamole. Mouthwatering, delicious and satisfying - eating here is an experience. Service: Exceptional service by Priscilla, Lindsey, Ashley and Edwin - thank you for making the experience enjoyable and memorable. Vibe: The vibe is relaxing. Indoor/outdoor seating is available - outdoor seating is covered. Good music playing in the background. Large bar area can accommodate large parties. Parking: Street parking is available for free but is difficult to find. I recommend that you park in the parking garage for a small fee. Sol covers validation, which is nice of them. I highly recommend trying anything on the menu - I am sure it is all delicious! And shout out to Lindsey, Priscilla, Ashley and Edwin - thank you!

Had a nice time here. The flavors are good. Loved the salsas they make. The starter chips are nice, seasoned well though some seemed a bit stale. We ordered asada quesadilla, Spanish octopus and the short ribs barbacoa. Flavors nice, well balanced but not everything was cooked perfectly. Yams were undercooked and almost raw. The rice was overcooked and dry. The octopus was a bit too greasy and overcooked. The quesadilla was dry. While taste was good it’s hard to return when so many things weren’t cooked correctly.

Food is fairly good at times but the music is way too loud and in your face. There just isn't a need for amps when the musician is 2 feet from you. Makes it extremely hard to enjoy a meal or conversation in that type of environment.

*Delayed post from April ‘25 My experience at this Mexican restaurant left a lot to be desired. While the environment gives an upscale feeling and the menu is vast, the quality of the food, service and overall experience was only slightly better than mediocre. It felt more like a big chain restaurant than a unique Mexican spot. Their complimentary tortilla chips were really delicious and I appreciated that they were whole, so you know exactly how much you're eating. I also enjoyed the salsa, which was smoky and spicy, tasted freshly made, and wasn't too chunky. We also had the grilled corn, which was great with the creamy sauce and fun to watch them cut in front of us, though it hurt to see so much corn left on the cob. The Shrimp Dorado Taco at $11 was a disappointment. While the size was slightly larger than your typical street taco and the chipotle sauce had a nice kick, there was hardly any shrimp (3?) and the mango salsa was off. The pieces were way too small, almost minced, and they didn't taste ripe, so there was no sweetness to balance the spice and salt. The Short Ribs Barbacoa had super tender beef that fell apart easily, but it was very salty and really needed the sweet potato, which was caramelized with sugar, to help neutralize. The rice and beans were nothing special and the guacamole didn't have enough lime in it. The tortillas for this also didn't seem homemade, but rather a stereotypical supermarket purchase. The toppings were nice to have on the side as options however.
