Opinions de Takami Sushi & Robata Los Angeles
Absolutely gorgeous atmosphere. The food was some of the best we have ever had. The service we received by Cole was so professional and friendly. Very easy to access once you arrive. We cannot wait to go back. 10 out of 10 must go.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5 – Delicious Food & Great Vibe, but Service Needs Work Takami Sushi & Robata is a beautiful spot with a sleek, modern atmosphere and a menu that definitely delivers. The food is fresh, well-presented, and full of flavor. Every dish that came out looked carefully crafted, and the quality was clear from the first bite. The ambiance is another strong point—elevated, stylish, and perfect for a date night, special dinner, or even a nice night out with friends. The only downside: customer service could be better. While the food and setting are excellent, the staff felt a bit inattentive and not as polished as you’d expect from a place of this caliber. A little more warmth and attentiveness would make a huge difference. ✅ Fresh, beautifully plated food ✅ Great atmosphere and view ❌ Service needs improvement Overall, still a fantastic dining experience—just hoping the service matches the quality of the food next time.
Incredible views of DTLA, open air, yet covered, excellent, and extensive menu. There are tons of cold sake to choose from, special rolls, classic rolls, and fun appetizers. Also, they have a plentiful dessert menu. Service was fast and friendly. Ambiance at dinner was very romantic and dimly lit. Wonderful location and quality.
Hey! I was there on October 18th, with a 🥳 party of 7. This Birthday are awesome with friends we started at the bar and got over the top bartender that know his juice. Wow. Than the foods was honest 😋 to goodness no comment needed awesome. The services we got was like going to a place and you're the guest of honors. Brilliant services
Takami is one of our favorite place to go for sushi 🍣 and cocktails. 🍸 Been here for many times and been going here for over 8 yrs now. They have great service and their bartenders are amazing. We had our company holiday luncheon and the event director was really a wonderful guy. Our server and bar tender Cole was super nice 👍🏻 I always recommend this place. By the way, nice venue too. Great place for any celebrations 👍🏻
We made a reservation but it turned out that wasn’t necessary as it’s not busy. But the atmosphere was nice and you could see the city from above. Our waiter was extremely nice. He was attentive and cheerful. The food was really good. My sashimi was very fresh and it’s the first time that I had fresh wasabi. We sat outside to enjoy the view. I would recommend sitting outside if you want to take in the city life while having the freshest food.
Rooftop bar and sushi restaurant, can't eat this dynamic duo combination. Valet parking was easy, had to drive through the alley and $12 fee covered until 3a for those that want to dine and then party after. I had reservations and had to wait 5-10 minutes, however was completely fine since there is a full bar in the reception area. Ambiance was nice, dimly lit so you can enjoy the views of the LA skyline. Had a table outside, which was perfect and already warm due to the various wall mounted heaters throughout. The restaurant has 3+ different kitchens for sushi, warm dishes and grilled foods, providing a versatile Japanese menu. The drinks were also amazing... Tokyo Mule, yes 2 please!!! Appetizer and food came extremely quick, only wait time was on the drinks, which wasn't that long and definitely worth the wait.
Restaurant is absolutely tasty with breathtaking views and great service. Went here for Christmas Day brunch with some friends. Sushi and sashimi were of high quality and were delicious. Service was incredibly respectful and prompt. Our waiter made great recommendations on what dishes to get. As far as atmosphere, you have an excellent view of downtown LA from here and great for pictures. Food - 15/20 Service - 9/10 Atmosphere - 9/10 Total - 33/40
Went on a Sunday, the food and service was amazing. However having the club right next door really ruined the experience for me. Just walking up & down to the restaurant I had drunk people stumbling all over me in the elevator & being really nasty. The shared bathrooms with the club was not it. I had to have my husband come wait for me outside the bathroom because the drunk men that were at the club and also using the bathroom were being really inappropriate towards me. I really wish I did my research before and reserved a day that they weren’t having anything next door because I really wanted to enjoy my experience since it’s a bit pricey. I’d recommend to check what event they’re doing next door before you book to avoid that. Overall the restaurant itself is a 10/10
I’ve eaten sushi all over the world. You truly only get 5 star sushi in Japan or Hawaii. 4 stars is reserved for the best of the best like the original Nobu or some hidden jems. With that said this was a 3 on the sushi scale which is excellent normal. In my book very good. Everything tasted fresh and was very good. The sashimi roll was excellent. The drinks are fabulous. And the ambiance on the rooftop is excellent. Worth going to have a great rooftop experience, people watch and have good cocktails + some above average sushi. The service is very good as well.
This restaurant has such a great atmosphere. Whether you’re on a date, meeting friends, or having a family gathering it fits perfectly for any occasion. No matter who you bring, you’re not going to regret it (and no one’s going to complain!). The prices are reasonable, the interior is clean and modern, and the sushi was fresh. I especially recommend the Dragon Roll and the DTLA Roll 🍣
This rooftop sushi restaurant and bar really impressed me — the food was absolutely delicious, the service was attentive, and the overall atmosphere and vibes were incredible. It’s easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a while. The only thing that took away from the perfection was the fact that they allowed large dogs inside the restaurant. I don’t dislike dogs, but it felt a little out of place for such a nice, upscale spot. For me, that detail kept it from being a true 5-star experience. That said, everything else was fantastic, and I’d still highly recommend it for anyone looking for great sushi and a beautiful rooftop setting.
Food was excellent, my friend and I were I. La for 2 days, and we were recommended this place. Drinks were pretty good as well, some of the service was a little slow, but my issue was the front telling us we couldn’t have a seat at a table because they had “a lot of reservations that night”. We sat in their lounge couch area, but not once during the about 1-1.5 hours while we were there were all tables full. We could have easily been sat at a 2 person table.
You are definitely paying for the view and good service. The views are gorgeous, especially if you have a reservation around sunset. Our server was very upbeat and kind. To be honest, I expected the sushi to be better. It was just okay.. definitely not “high quality” sushi. But taking in the views and drinks are definitely a good way to spend time up here!
Very nice views and that’s what you’re paying for. The sushi was decent but not as good as sugarfish and for the price you would expect more. Our waiter was nice and attentive but didn’t have knowledge on the sushi, he couldn’t tell us what fish was what on our takami platter which I thought was weird. I would come back for cocktails/happy hour and to enjoy the view but the sushi is nothing to write home about.
We had planned a dinner at another sushi restaurant, but realized it was 30 minute drive from our hotel. We were staying at the Omni hotel and decided to book Takami. When we arrive, the hostess put us outside in the deck area. It was very windy, cool and smoky that night. She never gave us another option, and stated the dining room was book solid this was our only option. After 15 minutes of waiting for the waiter, we decided to move indoors of the bar area. Once we received our food, it was very good. The rolls had great flavor, but fell apart very easily. We requested forks for our rolls, as they were falling apart. Once we were completed with our meal, it took 30 minutes to receive our bill. Once we received our final bill, It was over $75 over the correct amount. We never received an itemized receipt only the final bill. We asked for an itemized receipt and waited another 30 minutes to receive it. After going back and forth four different times we finally got our correct bill. Our quick sushi dinner turned into a frustrating three hour adventure.
