Guadalajara has one of the best birria. Jalisco was where birria originated... By the way, no matter what people say, birria is by its definition is made with goat meat. NO COW!!!! THAT'S NOT BIRRIA... Today, I stopped by birrieria Tlaquepaque. Tlaquepaque is located within the Guadalajara metropolitan area. So I was to a good start. The waitress was friendly and she helped me decide what the best selection was. I was there for the birria, so that's what I had. In one of the reviews I read, it said that their agua de horchata was great. To my surprise, it wasn't homemade, but bottled in a plastic bottle, which was disappointing. As a free entrée, they served refried beans with refried tortilla chips. The beans tasted delicious like my grandma used to make. Then the birria arrived. The consome tasted a bit light, but it was good. The carne maciza was delicious with the added cilindro, chop white onios, and salsa, all this paired with the just made corn tortillas. It was a simphony of flavors coming together in my mouth. A reminder of times gone by. Please come and enjoy the birria in this restaurant. Keeping this Mexican tradition a life and we'll. Light and love to everyone.

Birria is authentic, birria 🐐, beans,chips,homemade tortillas,and salsa are very delicious. Service was good, the place is small and clean. The only set back is the restrooms. They were dirty and smelled. There also right where the tables are, where people are eating. So dont forget to leave the fan running 🤣. I will be returning the food was 👍👍🔥🔥. Still serving and open during COVID cough 19. Mind you Take out only. 💣🔥🔥💣🔥💣😋😋

Server was great but the quality of the food was very disappointing. The birria broth and meat was very salty, and the quality of the meat was pretty bad for maciza. They served me small chunks of meat mixed with small bones. I should have gone to a couple of other birria restaurants that are down the street from this one. Oh well, I gave it a try but not going back again. I did not finish my meal and I’m still hungry.

Honestly this place was the best birria in L.A But I went today and what a disappointment the birria is watered down before the meat was had a crispy outer layer that's gone.. and they served it with too much broth but the broth is bland (watered down) also they are serving it in plastic containers while still very hot. My wife and I went here for lunch. The food was OK. Not great but not bad. After we finished eating, the lady that runs the restaurant came to our table and gave us our bill. We wanted to talk for a bit after lunch so say for about 5 minutes. The lady came back to our table and with an attitude asked us when we are going to pay for our food and that she doesn’t think we could get away if we dined and dashed. We were shocked. We are in our thirties and tourists from Canada. The last thing we were going to do is run out of the store without paying. She was very rude to assume our intentions. We are in the area twice a year and will NEVER return. Have some respect and just allow us to talk a few moments after we finish eating!!

I was really looking forward to trying this place after hearing some good things, but unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. The service was incredibly slow, and it took over 30 minutes just to get my food, even though the restaurant wasn't that busy. When the food finally arrived, it was lukewarm at best. The birria, which is supposed to be their specialty, lacked flavor and was overly greasy. The tortillas were stale, and the portions were much smaller than expected for the price. To make matters worse, the staff didn't seem very attentive or friendly. When I asked for a side of salsa, it never came, and I had to remind them twice. Overall, the quality of the food and service just didn’t justify the cost. I won't be coming back and can't recommend this place to others.

I picked up a friend from nearby after flying in and we were just trying to grab lunch. But while talking in the parking about old times this Karen came out yelling 😒 but even so we went inside and sat.......but I just smelled dirty kitchen and the place was empty and honestly she had a worse attitude towards me. So we threw a 5 on the table and then left and found an amazing food truck and you could see the whole kitchen and it was spotless and the food was amazing

The flavors were bland, and everything tasted like it came out of a can or was microwaved. The portions were small for the price, and nothing on the plate stood out. I've had better Mexican food at fast-food chains, which says a lot. Overall, the experience was disappointing, and I doubt I'll be coming back. There are far better options in the area that actually deliver on both service and flavor.
