Opinions de Thai Patio Los Angeles
The three of us had a great meal here on a rainy Saturday evening. The restaurant is spacious and bustling with friendly staff dashing about. It was warm and lit beautifully as well. We I had boat noodles while my dining partners had orders of beef jerky, plus a shared mango sticky rice. The noodles where steaming hot, rich in flavor, and a really sizeable portion. Every bite had a great mix of noodles, meat, and crunchy veg. The beef jerky was a big part of why we came coming out hot and crispy with rendered fatty bits and the bright, tangy, slightly sour sauce. The mango sticky rice was delicious with their version being a little heavier on the sweetened condensed milk than others I've enjoyed. Overall, they had great food and beverages for a reasonable, but not amazing price. If we're in the area we'd be back!
I came here with my parents after a short hiking day at the Griffith Observatory. The food was top-tier. We had no idea the portions were so big (they're like family-style, rather than individual dishes), so we had to take some home. The Golden Crab Bags (one of the appetizers) was definitely an unexpected winner. The Sa-te chicken (that's how they spelled it in their menu), or Satay chicken, as I know it, was, as always, a winner in my book. Their Pad See Ew was just ok but the Pad Thai is incredible. The combination soup (hotpot version) was great too, and so was their Thai Tea. The service was next-level. Shoutout to Melissa, our server for the day. She was always helpful, attentive and kind. The ambiance was good too. Well-lit-up restaurant with natural light coming in from the windows (it's a corner shop) that's in a well-trafficked area in the middle of Thai Town. Also, the menu is LENGTHY, akin to that of The Cheesecake Factory. Lots of variety there.
Over the past 13 years, I've been eating my way through the many stellar establishments in Thai town LA. Each restaurant has their pros and cons and unless you try the same dish across all restaurants, it's really hard to tell who makes the best Thai food. I usually try the pad kee mao whenever I'm visiting a new Thai restaurant. The pad kee mao here is the best I've tried in all of Thai town so far. I liked the fried triangle tofu that was used and how spicy they made it for me (I asked for Thai spicy). Years ago, I came in just for mango sticky rice and that was magical especially considering how large a portion they gave. Needless to say, I will be returning to Thai padio to try more dishes.
Located in the New Hollywood Plaza, Thai patio is a great option for authentic Thai food. Their lunch special prices are nothing short of incredible. Lunch specials are $7.99 per dish and runs from 11am until 4pm ( not available on weekend of holidays ). Ordered the yellow curry, Thai BBQ chicken, pad see ewe. We got seated right away but it can get busy so plan accordingly. Adequate amount of free parking in the plaza parking lot but can fill up quick.
The food here is delicious and an amazing deal. Their lunch specials are $7.99 and are a great portion. I went last Tuesday around 1pm and there was plenty of parking and tables available. We did try to go on Saturday for dinner but it was impossible to find anywhere to park. It also seemed that they had a valet at that time/day of the week. The pineapple curry is absolutely delicious and they have the best Thai tea!
Offers lunch specials for $8 but not dayS before New Year as considered holiday. The regular menu prices were still reasonable price and doable given prices elsewhere nowadays. Beware of the extras charges adds up such as Panang curry must be eaten with rice but here rice must be ordered for additional money or you will get not drinkable soup. Shrimp salad was my favourite of the two dishes ordered. Dressing was the best! Hopefully when lunch specials offered I can try again with the shrimp salad. There may be a charge for parking in the night or weekends in the small tight lot.
I have not had much Thai food, so this review is solely based on my subjective enjoyment. I went to three Thai restaurants today, and this was arguably my favourite one. The Rad Na had such a great texture and taste, which I would highly recommend. The Thai-style omelet was a huge pleasant surprise with how simple yet delicious it was. I would recommend trying this restaurant out, especially if you’re looking for a nice, aesthetic space.
Update review: I recently dined at Thai Patio and had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with tasteful decor and comfortable seating. The menu offered a great variety of traditional Thai dishes, each bursting with authentic flavors. I particularly enjoyed the Fried Egg Rolls and Drunken Noodles with beef, both cooked to perfection. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed. Overall, it was a delightful meal, and I highly recommend Thai Patio for anyone craving delicious Thai cuisine. —————————————————————— First time eating here, we ordered sampler platter & chicken satay to start and they were really good. For main course i got fried filet fish basil (it was overly salty) and my friend had green curry chicken (it was very good). We were there around 8pm and it was pretty busy so basically no service at all...the waitress just took the order & dropped the check (after asking many times for the check) never checked our table whether everything was right or not. Since the food was pretty close to authentic thai food, i would come back to try something else on the menu.
Craving Thai food and wanted a place where we could bring our small dog. Since they had outdoor seating, Thai patio was perfect place. The service was fast and friendly and the food was very delicious. The portion size was also huge so you definitely get your money’s worth here. We ended taking half the food home to enjoy the next day. Excited to go back and try some other dishes on their extensive menu.
Located in Thai Town of Los Angeles. Went here for lunch. 1st if all, portions were huge compared to typical Thai restaurants in America. Yes, I’ve eaten at hundreds of Thai restaurants in various states. Prices were reasonable. Service was quick & attentive. Lastly foods were very good. Our favor was the Nam Tok beef salad. The grilled beef was good, but the Nam Tok was better with the salad dressing & toasted rice powder & fresh basil. The Pad See Ewe with fried tofu was on point, thick fried tofu was unique. Tom Kha with chicken soup was very good due to the flavorful & aromatic broth. The chicken meat & mushrooms were OK. The eggplant with pork was tasty & cooked perfectly, not overdone. Overall very satisfying. 2 thumbs up.
Food and plenty of it! Fabulous serving sizes, lovely, adorable girls waiting tables. The food isn't nearly as good as their neighbors across the parking lot, but they make up for it in volume. Generally speaking food is good! (Not great, but definitely good). For some reason, food quality is a lot more variable here than some other restaurants though. So I suspect there are multiple chefs, or some other element at play here. Even still we eat here often, As it's a great place to fill up when you are really hungry. And if you don't deviate too much from the standard dishes, it usually turns out ok.
Thai Patio is a lively spot with a solid menu and a fun atmosphere, especially if you’re looking for Thai comfort food in the heart of LA. The dishes are flavorful, the portions are generous, and the service is friendly and efficient. However, the Mango Sticky Rice was a bit disappointing the mango didn’t taste like Thai mango, which took away from the dish’s authenticity. That said, the rest of the meal was enjoyable, and the overall experience was still good. If you're in the neighborhood and craving Thai food, Thai Patio is a decent choice, but the dessert could use an upgrade to match the quality of their main dishes.
This is our new favorite Thai restaurant in the area. The portion is huge. Yes huge. The taste is not as good as the other Thai restaurant in the same plaza but not that behind. They have plenty of seats and the service time was ok. This is a handicap friendly facility. Parking is valet only with only $3 with validation.
Great place if you like Thai food. Very generous portions and the food comes in fast. Restaurant itself isn't the sexiest place (wouldn't go here on a date night) but the food and service is great! I recommend to try the fried shrimps filled with ground chicken, served with a chili sauce. The green curry (no 53) is great! Really nice flavors. Would be even better with better veggies, such as eggplants, onion and more. (Comes with bell pepper, bamboo sprouts and green beans). But still really good! Definitely going back for the food and service. Spicy fried rice is delish, and we tried it with shrimps. Really good. And so much so you can easily split it in 3 portions.
After living 2 year in Thailand here a little review. Pad kra pao ( holy Basil leave )taste was good but meat somehow a bit off ( tried several restaurants and once it’s the most common dish in Thailand it’s somehow hard to find in la the way it’s done over there). Had yum ( glassnoodle salad ) and khao niao mamuang ( mango sticky rice ) which was extremely good. I would say this was one of the best places we ate so far.
Waitress is terrible in her job. Gave us a table that wasn’t properly cleaned with a dead fly on it and horrible customer service. And to make it worse, flies kept coming in that I had to take a picture. Asked everyone but us how we were doing. Food could be better (spicy seafood soup) I would honestly recommend better Jade Siam in Huntington Park than this EDIT: we leave and an older Asian lady asks if we left a tip…and if not did we leave cash on the table…what a joke 🤣🤣 I left so I wouldn’t have my day ruined by such ignorance.
