Opinions de ixlb DimSum Eats Los Angeles
I’ve been here multiple times and im absolutely obsessed. Incredible price point IMO. The restaurant is clean. The staff is v polite. Service is quick. It’s nothing super fancy. Casual. Clean. My last order: Xiao Long Bao Cha Siu Bao Shrimp wonton with chili oil Edamame Egg custard buns Chicken over rice Bento box All for $54.68 And a 10 min wait for pickup.
Had such a great experience at Ixlb Dimsum Eats! The dim sum was fresh and flavorful. The prices are reasonable, service was quick, and the staff were super welcoming. It’s a small spot but cozy and perfect for catching up while enjoying good food.
Finally getting around to writing a review after ordering from here 5+ times. This place is outstanding. Consistently delicious food that comes piping hot like it’s fresh out of the steamer. I moved from the SGV where the dim sum is top tier and ixlb is some of the best I’ve had. I always buy the 3oz chili oil to eat throughout the week because it’s that good.
Surprisingly good for the price, everything in the picture was about 32 total Food was served in about 5-10 mins after ordering The shui mai was massive, juicy and packed with umami. The prawn dumplings likewise were very generously wrapped and 鮮 Unfortunately the xiaolongbaos did not appear to have much soup inside. Some of the har gao skins were broken and lumpy, perhaps we had an older batch? Egg tarts were also very good I appreciated the provided chili crisp, soy sauce and ginger sauce (for the xlb) as well as the sweet soy sauce provided on the side. It appears this place is oriented around taking away with seating to eat as a secondary purpose (only napkins were provided at the table). Overall, this is definitely an unexpected gem in the area and I would highly recommend. I love that they served the dim sum in foil which allowed the heat to stay in and keep it all fresh. The serving size and flavor definitely hit the spot.
Food was SO good! I had been looking for a place with Xiao long bao, the dumplings with the soup INSIDE the bao, and these were perfect! I ordered a cold garlic noodle salad that ended up coming out hot and asked the man about it to make sure I didn't get the wrong thing and he brought me another cold one after I already started eating the warm one that was actually still really good warm. So that was nice to eat later that night in my hotel room. The last thing I got was the fried shrimp wonton w/ Chili Oil and they were big, plump and tasty shrimp! All these things had real tasty sauces and toppers too! I wanted to go back, but my travel buddy had a good point about trying a bunch of different things since we were in a good food paradise!
Delicious dim sum!!! I came here a few years ago when I visited LA and fell in love with their steamed egg custard bao. Had to go again when I visited this time and it did not disappoint! I also got the xiao long bao, which was delicious. And my husband got the shrimp wonton with chili oil and pork and shrimp siu mai. He enjoyed his as well!
There’s no place in Los Angeles that compares to this place in terms of dumplings. It’s literally their specialty. I even got a chance to speak to the owner’s father, and he told me that he has perfected his craft of making dumplings for 46 years. That’s very inspiring. When you know in your heart that you’re great at something, you can’t allow anything or anyone to get in the way of that, no matter how small it may seem to someone else. You never know how far your greatness will take you until you become passionate with being persistent, and you can taste the level of passion in every bite at this restaurant. Highly addictive and I highly recommend 🤤🥟 😋
I’ve driven by this place a million times and finally stopped to try it tonight. Easy to order in-person. They have iPads where you order/pay. I took it to go, and it was made and ready pretty quickly. Everything was just as good as I had hoped/read in the reviews. The pork bao and bun were delicious. I’ve always wanted to try egg custard bao and now it’s something I’ll be craving in the future!
Very very good dimsum! Yummy, tasty, big and juicy. The Hagao and Sumai are very satisfying, Xiaolungbao is super juicy, baked Chasiubao has good sweet-savory balance, sausage bread is light and fluffy and the egg-yolk bao is satisfyingly sweet. So instead of traditional chinese restaurant, this clever folks create a semi fast-food dimsum where you can eat and go in a jiffy (or at least that's the idea). You go to the computer terminals and order your food, pay at cashier, wait for your food and eat! Quite a refreshing concept. The seating is styled like a bar but space is super duper limited. I know it's downtown where space is premium but number of seatings is really a challenge for this restaurant. I suspect their business model depends more on takeaways rather than dine-in. It's not fun to find seat for party of 8. Price is a kinda expensive, even after factoring in the big size of the morsels.
The best dumplings I've tried outside of China, really something special. Service is great, fast, we didn't have trouble finding parking nearby. It was so good that we returned the next day. Don't miss the egg custards either! Only downside were the scallion pancakes that had no scallions at all, they were bland, but still perfectly caramelised. I can't remove a star due to that though because the rest really was excellent.
This was my first time in LA and I wanted some dim sum. Found this place in google, and after a mile walk I hoped the food would be worth it. It definitely was. The price of the meals was extremely reasonable. The pork dumplings were so juicy and the fish filet was seasoned so well. The place itself was very clean and the staff members were friendly.
Staff were very friendly when I came to pick up my order. For the price, the food was good. Very reasonably priced. Portion size was good too, not those tiny sizes. Definitely worth a try. Only thing was parking, quite difficult to find street parking. There is a small valet lot behind though.
Stopped in one night on the way home and was pleasantly surprised by the portion and the taste of the dim sum dishes. As everyone knows, good quality Chinese food is hard to find outside of the SGV in LA but ixlb serves up good quality dim sum with the radish cake as a particular highlight. Will definitely be back. The lot behind the building offers free one hour parking so no need to try to find parking!
Stopped by for a late snack, set up for take out and quick snack with high tops and stools, better order ahead to save the wait. Roast pork buns and steamed shrimp dumplings were moderately above average, fried chicken dumplings/ potstickers were average and curry pastries were worst I ever had and a let down. Nice and friendly service, clean looking and resonantly priced. Worth circling back to explore some more. Parking at rear was useful.
It's cool that you can order at a kiosk inside. The service was quick and I really liked the drink they have. It was refreshing and delicious as well as not too sweet. All the foods came out fresh and hot. The Siu Mai was definitely my favorite: steamy and juicy. Everything else was yummy, too. It's a bit pricy for me but that's just the cost of the area.
The cha siu bao (I ordered the baked one but they gave me the steamed one but it was good though😒) it was a little sweet…there wasn’t that much filling in it…but the flavor was a treat! egg custard tart for me…was not bad I wouldn’t try it from here again though 0/5 Spicy street noodle! Mix mix and dig in! Chili oil is on the bottom the noodles were bouncy and so good! Good fresh crunch from the cucumber all around my favorite. The scallion pancake..chewy in the middle, some burnt ends it wasn’t my favorite. There’s much more to try from the menu so I’ll be coming back😉 betcha!
Pretty good dim sum, but the service can be really slow. I walked in to place a take out order for two people, and ended up waiting almost an hour for my food. There was no where to sit so I just had to stand there the whole time. Now I pretty much only get this place delivered because I don't want to stand in a restaurant for a whole hour waiting again.
Service is great and the employees are kind, but the food itself isn’t that good. Images shown on the kiosk machine for food items we ordered were completely different from what we received. I think we may have gotten the wrong order. The food was stale and cold (in a microwaved way) and the lunch box tasted oilier and drier rather than flavorful. Egg custard buns were a let down and didn’t taste very good. Prices are cheap for California, but food was definitely not as good as reviews are saying. If you want something cheap and filling this spot is fine
