We grabbed some slices, the Grandma, the Mac & Cheese, and the Syracuse-Style Hot Wing. Everything tasted great, the Grandma was the best but everything had it’s own unique flavor. I was weary about the mac & cheese but they did a great job. The Syracuse wasn’t as saucy compared to the others but it was still tasty. Looks like they have a little outdoor area to eat but we had these to go. They heated up the slices for us too! Definitely recommend.
Small cozy spot to enjoy your pizza if you dine in and good selection of drinks. Pizza is delicious and their pepperoni is my favorite. Some say it's pricey but its worth it! Fresh and delicious and top of my list.
New costumer here !!! First time & i love this place already !! The pizzas are the best !!! & very good pricing 😍 Willl definitley come back again 👍
Legit slice. One bite. Many bites. Nobody knows the rules. Place is good. Pizza is crispy. People are nice! Great regular and great Sicilian slices. Garlic pesto knots are a must add. My new spot for a quick pizza fix.
I recently dined at Tomato Pie Pizza Joint, and I must say, the experience was delightful. I ordered their barbecue chicken pizza and a side of garlic twist knots, and here’s what I thought: 1. Flavor Explosion: The barbecue chicken pizza was a flavor explosion in every bite. The tangy barbecue sauce perfectly complemented the tender chunks of chicken, and the combination of melted cheese and fresh veggies created a harmonious blend of flavors. 2. Garlic Twist Knots: The garlic twist knots were a heavenly addition to the meal. They were warm, buttery, and infused with just the right amount of garlic. A real treat for garlic lovers! 3. Crust Perfection: The pizza crust was crispy on the outside yet wonderfully soft on the inside. It provided the ideal base for the toppings, and I appreciated that it wasn’t too thick or too thin. 4. Generous Portions: The portion sizes were generous, making it a great value for the price. I had enough leftovers to enjoy the next day. 5. Cozy Atmosphere: The restaurant had a cozy and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a casual dinner with friends or family.
Great place for pizza! Clean diner style and friendly staff. Actually reasonably priced for LA food at $15 total for 3 big slices and a drink. They had unique drinks and delicious pizza. Will be back!

Pizza is excellent. Spaghetti with red sauce needs work, Tastes like preggo sauce but good enough to eat. Do not sit at out door back patio mosquitos will eat you alive.
The pies are creative and delicious, the staff has always been a helpful and cheerful bunch. It’s great to stop by and try something new (the slice selection) or sit out back with the fam or friends. They also serve good veggie sides to balance out all the dough and cheese delights.
I am originally from NYC. This is the best NY style that I have tasted in LA. Great food friendly service. Excellent cheesecake as well!!
This pizza spot seriously took me right back to the pizza place in Brooklyn near Steiner Studios where I used to live. The vibe is super chill, the service is really friendly, and the place is very family friendly, which I love. I tried four slices Pepperoni, Unica, the White slice, and the Grandma pie, and all of them were on point. The flavors, the crunch, the whole feel of it… it was like being back in Brooklyn for a moment. The Grandma slice especially brought back memories. Honestly, it’s hard to find a place in LA that captures that real Brooklyn comfort, but these guys nailed it. Thank you for the great experience I’ll definitely be back. 🍕✨
The staff was really nice! I believe it was the manager but he gave us a sample of a pizza which was amazing and I’m definitely ordering when I’m back. First time there and for sure will be my local spot.
EXCELLENT pizza! The sauce is tangy, the crust is crispy, and the cheese is legit. All the specialty slices are bursting with flavor, and the plain cheese is a terrific specimen of a slice! I have tried all the specialty slices at this point, and there’s not a dud in the bunch! All delicious!

Great service. Lots of different pizzas to choose from. I ordered the Grandma, BBQ Chicken, and The Deluxe. Flavors are there and they are generous with toppings. BBQ pizza needed a little more BBQ sauce, Grandma needed a spot of mozzarella in middle of pie, and Deluxe needed more stability (slightly flimsy)! They also have a cute patio area to eat at in back. Definitely recommend and will be back to try others.
We got the mac and cheese and the really really fungi, with a side of garlic knots. The mac and cheese was really good, it was like eating a gourmet mac and cheese, with bacon and a nice bit of bread crumbs to top it off, all on a pizza. It was not overwhelming or too cheesy, id say that you should try it but i wouldn't be getting it often. The really really fungi, was like a savory salad on a pizza, with the first bite i was sold. It was savory and had vegetables win win, the taste was just a great combination of the ingredients, this was a great surprise. The garlic knots had a little imbalance in the bread vs garlic amounts, it was a little bread heavy. Update We got a simple mushroom and ricotta pizza and it was ok but not worth the prices here. Make sure you get a special if you are going to come here.
Personally, this place felt really cute. It was okay food wise. I'd probably come here again. It wasn't greasy at all. The ceasar salad was okay. I was expecting chicken to come with it. They had a lot of beverages to choose from like coke, squirt, and sparkling water. Also had canoli and cheesecake as well for desserts. It wasn't too far from the Observatory too. So that's a plus. It's your basic run of the mill pizza place. :)

The pizzas are kind of costly to get burnt crust. Not like dark brown, but black, not the whole thing but enough spots to be very memorable. With all due respect that’s a serious carcinogen and shouldn’t be given to customers.
One of my sons bought a cheese pizza on several occasions a few years ago because he loved it from the past. I thought it was fine, but nothing spectacular. Yesterday, I really wanted pizza and my other son suggested Tomato Pie and showed me the menu. I was thrilled with the menu having a really good veggie pizza. Even better was when we removed mushrooms and broccoli from the order and was able to add red bell peppers and black olives. I really love a lot of veggies on my pizza. The pizza tasted so good. I was very, very happy. I have two slices for lunch today and looking forward to lunchtime! Yum yum.

Tomato Pie has consistently good New York style pizza. They also have good salads. They're my locally-owned Friday night “let’s order pizza and get a big salad” go-to selection on my food delivery app. Most times, I’ll get the Traditional pizza but the Grandma is excellent, too! So, whether it’s Friday night delivery because you don’t want to cook or you’re having friends over, Tomato Pie is a solid choice.
I don’t know, man/ woman/ them/ fam. I tried this place years ago, in the beginning of the pandemic and I thought it was okay. I have always felt like I should give it another shot because maybe I didn’t recognize how good it is. Dave Portnoy later reviewed this place and pointed out how the dough is akin to French bread… from a Stouffer’s French Bread Pizza. The frozen one you microwave. I get that. I think it has things in common with Boston Pizza although they say they’re from New York or New York Style. This goes to show you, not all New York Pizza is great. Not all New York Pizza is great. I think it is decent Pizza but lately I have been trying game changers in LA such as Little Dynamite, Pizzeria Sei, Apolonia’s, Ozzy’s Apizza, Hot Tongue and this is a far cry from anything like that. Also, can we talk about something here? Why does the one guy working there give me energy like he views me as Stunt Man Mike from Death Proof? Can anyone tell me why? Pizza is all about vibe. Does this have vibe? Yeah, weird uncomfortable passive aggressive sleepy depressing vibes. No unique box or fanfare? You know ALL the other places I mentioned aside from Pizzeria Sei have shirts and/ or stickers and/ or pins AND Pizza Boxes with unique Art and Print! Not. Just. Lazy. Blank. White. Couldn’t be a fan of Tomato Pie if I tried! Tomato Pie won’t allow me to be a fan and supporter. They simply will not allow it. What? I’m just telling you, this is average Pizza. Even the Sicilian. Even the Sicilian was underwhelming. Why is everyone so reliant on Hot Honey now days? I will say that maybe this place is better if you just get the Marinara Pie or the Pizza without cheese and only sauce. They have good sauce, cheese - I don’t know. Like Portnoy said, ‘it does the job’ or something to that effect. Also he said it’s similar to Philadelphia Style. I wouldn’t know. I have only had Pizza in San Francisco, New York, Italy (Rome, Milan, Venice), New Haven, Chicago and countless others but not Philly. So what do I know since I haven’t had Philadelphia Style Pizza? Makes sense cause Beto’s Pittsburgh makes Pizza without cheese and they’re fine. I guess. Tomato Pie, man. Come on, man. Get it together! Please, for the Love of Pizza! It’ll do. It’ll do. But. You really expect anyone to drive more than 11 minutes for this? Why?

Very good is you can spend close to $50 for a large pie ! Seems really really out of whack. And that was pepperoni only . Not worth it but way better than Dominos
Very disappointed usually the pizza is served very hot, which I love and this is nothing against the food. The pizza is delicious here, but the girl there serve the pizza cold. I had to ask them to reheat it and even then it wasn’t up to standards that i usually get here. Not very nice of them.

Been a loyal Tomato Pie fan since 2019. I used to recommend it to everyone, now I am going to actively divert people elsewhere. I've never had such a terrible time trying to order a pizza or such a lackluster response to an obviously egregious mistake on the restaurant's part. I ordered around 7:00 for delivery on the website. For 45 minutes my order was frozen, pending "approval by manager". I call around 7:45, and they say "oh, it got stuck. Just a bug in our new system. It should be to you in about 25-30 minutes. Another 45 minutes later, the order tracker finally changes to "delivered." I look around -- no pizza.... I call, and they say "oh, yeah, you are 1.5 miles outside of our delivery zone" (meaning I am 4.5 miles away from the shop) "and we're not allowed to deliver to you". I waited for an hour and a half. Now it's too late to pick up, too late to order another pizza. I'm so angry. I *loved* Tomato Pie but I will never order another pizza from there just because of how terrible their protocol is. Guy on the phone was nice. You could tell it wasn't a 'him' problem, but a company one.
