Opinions de Treehouse Thai Los Angeles
I have been eating at Tree house thai for over 9yrs. I'm surprised to see it has such a low rating. I don't agree that it's gone down in quality. I can confidently say that anyone I have brought here has also loved this place. Great service, clean, food is delicious, and you get more for your money. If you're looking for a place that is super expensive and not worth the price, maybe this isn't your spot. I am a very picky person, and I can tell you this place is very good. Definitely try it out for yourself.
This place should be at the top of your list for thai food (or food in general for Culver City). The staff is very nice and attentive and the food comes out quickly. The portion sizes are massive if you eat in (and still adequate for take-out). If you're a spicy boy like me, then you'll love the level four or five spice -- although it's not for the faint of heart! The menu has great variety and my wife and I have yet to find something that we don't thoroughly enjoy. I also highly recommend their appetizer sampler with accompanying dipping sauce -- crunchy, crispy goodness!
This place is really good and can make things vegan. Definitely recommend! I always get the Pad Thai and Thai Fried Rice with tofu. This is my go to Thai spot in Culver City.
We came on the weekend because they have lunch specials every day of the week! It was a big portion size and the combo special comes with a thai tea or other drink! The flavors were great, the spice level was excellent and the service was amazing. They are all so kind! It's also a clean, spacious atmosphere and on the weekend we had no issues finding parking in the lot.
Delicious well priced and comfortable! The cleanliness, nice atmosphere and friendly staff made for a great experience. We had the drunken chow mien, massaman curry, and spicy bamboo and all were yummy. They were very accommodating for our vegan preferences and the Som Tam (papaya salad) was great!
I love this Thai spot. They have $10 chicken pad thai on Tuesdays as well as a great combo deal every day during certain times. The combo includes an entree, wonton soup, egg roll, and choice of drink. I get the chicken pad Thai and Thai ice tea (you can get coconut milk for an up charge) and the food is tasty. The wonton soup comes out steaming hot and I like the broth. There is a free parking lot and plenty of indoor seating. Credit cards are accepted. I’d recommend coming here when you are craving some Thai food and want a reasonably priced yet filling meal.
Probably my favorite Thai restaurant - overall - in L.A. There are a few better ones (but at much, much higher prices, and much less convenient). Tree House Thai: ~ is always consistent (I prefer restaurants where I know what I'm getting, and never have to be disappointed or surprised), ~ has a large selection (which includes not even one single dish I would hesitate to recommend), ~ always has the right attitude (super customer-friendly and appreciative), ~ and is truly low-priced, especially for the quality. I have frequently ordered delivery, as well as pick-up, and I don't think they've ever gotten anything wrong or left anything out (for take-out from anywhere, that's pretty much a miracle). I have spent a lot of time in Thailand, and it's truly impossible to get a bad meal anywhere in that country. Tree House Thai is my own little bit of Thailand cuisine, right down the road. Thanks THT! You're the best :)
Wonderful food and very calm, relaxing atmosphere, which was so nice! I've been having trouble finding a restaurant here that doesn't have guests crammed in like a cafeteria and either loud music, making it impossible to have a conversation, or so noisy with absolutely no efforts at sound deadening features. The tofu curry was delicious, and we were pleasantly surprised with the perfectly cooked shrimp and eggplant. We couldn't get enough! Tree House Thai Restaurant is one of the best kept secrets of West L.A.!
I went with my girlfriend and mom. I got the duck curry which is a favorite of mine. Here it was beautifully made. The curry broth(?) was creamy and had a depth of spices that ended with a bright acidic note from the pineapple and it was to die for. My girlfriend got the pho and I’ve never seen her finish an entire pho bowl before. My mother got the steamed fish dish with lime sauce and it was very light and easy to eat! Please come visit you will not be dissatisfied! Great service as well the server was very attentive.
This was a pretty good Thai place. I had the green curry and it was very delicious. I got their lunch special so it was pretty good deal: comes with a drink, wonton soup, and a meal of your choice based on what they’ve listed. Service was great, the servers were really nice and accommodating. There wasn’t a whole lot of people so the ambience was pretty quiet. I recommend going there.
Love this place! Food is great and the service has always been nothing but great 🙌🏽
Tree House has quickly become our favorite Thai spot near us. All the classic noodle dishes are ready good, and if you dine in the service is excellent. A hidden favorite on the menu is their salt and pepper chicken!
10 out of 10 stars! The food was amazing and so flavorful. The service was fast, and just out of this world. It was my first time here and I will be going back. Tree House Thai is a very cute spot to eat, very affordable and amazing service! Highly recommend.
Absolutely best in town. There are several nearby, but if you are looking for authentic Thai cuisine that takes you all the way to the flavorful sensation into Thailand herself, this is it. They can meet the high expectations of Thai wife and myself who visits Thailand many times.
Staff were very friendly and polite. Food is amazing! The place has a cozy vibe.
This is our family’s favorite Thai food restaurant. The food is always good. A lot of their business is take-out, so it’s never hard to get a table. The atmosphere is super chill with not-too-loud ambient music. They have happy hour daily, and once or twice a week they have a live music set in the evening. Their lunch specials are a great value. Servers are always super polite. And since it’s upstairs with lots of windows, you have a great view of the neighborhood. It’s really a gem.
We are vegan and we have tried a lot of restaurants near by, however this one stands out. There’s a gentleman who takes your orders and he is by far the best customer oriented staff we have met here in LA. The food was delicious, moderately priced and had lots of options for vegans. We will visit here often. 🙏🏾
I have posted new photos of this place. This place was renovated last year. Great food, good prices and customer service is awesome. They have lunch specials as well as happy hour. There is a parking lot and meter parking around.

Love this place! Food is amazing, and their combos are a great value. The service is so quick and friendly. Can’t recommend enough!
The food was fresh, perfectly seasoned, and huge servings 😋 The service was outstanding. Alejandro is the BEST! The atmosphere is very friendly and comfortable. Run, don't walk to Treetop Thai!
Excellent experience overall. Took my friend who is very particular on Thai spots. He definitely approved. The shrimp is so juicy and you can tell they get the good stuff. Haven't had such quality shrimp in a very long time. My wife loved the chicken chow mein I brought home. As expected, their Thai iced tea is phenomenal too though I wish the serving was larger but that's just personal. The vibes here are great and the second floor windows really sell the idea of being in a little tree above the city. You get perfect "canopy-like" view of the city around you. Great food. Great decorum. Great restaurant. Definitely going in my "go-to" thai spots.
First time here, placed an order online and picked it up. This place was referred to me by the receptionist at my doctor's office and it did not disappoint. I had the yellow curry with chicken and fried rice. Lots of chicken, big chunks of potatoes and carrots, so good! I'll come back next time and dine in.

Mixed reviews hence “4” not “5”— In in the restaurant dining experience was fantastic a 5+; very large portions, super flavorful, and of course great service. However, when I ordered online for pick up, the portions were very very small and the flavor was not there. Each of the pick up items I had notes for medium spice level, and to pack extra dry hot spices an extra chopsticks — none of that was packed; and the food was mild. The green curry was so sweet. I had to add pepper and garlic and salt on my own at home to tone down the sugary taste… With so many choices in the neighborhood oppt’y and need to be much more consistent…
Discovered this place a few months ago. Have come back 4 times since for dinner. Never too crowded, service has always been friendly and entrees average about $15-16. Great price for a sit-down, nice meal. Everyone has enjoyed themselves and their food.
The BBQ pork wonton soup is one of my favorite dishes from Thai restaurants and so hard to find. Tree House Thai makes it perfectly with a light amount of sweetness and some great presentation. The wontons were well cooked and the soup is great in take-out as well. The larb was good - a bit sweeter than I’m used to, but I appreciated that it wasn’t spicy like most larb. Overall the flavor was still there. Finally, the pad Thai that we ordered was as-expected. All the flavors were there but it wasn’t a dish that sets the restaurant apart like the soup & larb were. Service was good but it took a while to get some attention once we had our plates.
We tried the pad Thai and bbq chicken along with the vegan Thai tea. The prices were very reasonable. The portions were very good and everything was very tasty. They have a large selection of lunch specials from 11-3 pm on the weekdays and combo specials from 4 pm to closing that we are interested in trying next time. The combo comes with an entree, a Thai tea or soda, wonton soup, egg roll and rice for the non-noodle dishes.
Was surprised by the nice interior when I got inside. It had a nice trendy artistic vibe. The food was pretty good. I got the Sate skewers and the pad see ewe noodles. The noodles were served in a big amount and were very tasty. The sate though was a little hard and tough to bite into. Service was good, although seemed to be a bit undermanned. Only one person was incharge of waiting and dealing with the uber eats orders that kept coming. All in all a very good experience for thai food. Wouldn't mind coming back to try their other dishes. Just be wary of the parking. It is decent but gets busy.
Great service, very reasonable price, but underwhelming Thai food (that is, if you are looking for authenticity). Penang chicken curry: way too sweet, a bit watery, a ton of green peas and green/red bell peppers. This was the best dish. Basil chicken: more like Chinese chicken stir fry. Hardly any basil to be found, yet more red/green bell peppers, carrots, onions, sliced chicken, and did I mention more bell peppers? Som tum (Thai papaya salad): everything was there but Thai chilis were AWOL. Oh so bland. Tom kha goong: so sour it tasted more like tom yum goong. Again, no spice, and just a ton of mushrooms. I miss Black Canyon Coffee and S&P....

The green curry and Panang where very watery. The food was delivered in containers that are too small and too thin to eat. Since we did not have plates.( Delivery is suppose to allow us to eat without extra containers, no?).. Utensils? Only fork.. How am i suppose to eat Curry with fork?
Average Thai food. They repeatedly got my curry order wrong. Service was ok
Went to Tree House Thai with seven people. The place was pretty empty at Sunday 7pm. The food was good, the steamed fish with chili lime sauce was excellent. I'd give the food 4 stars. BUT the service was horrible. The waitress was dutiful but abrupt and not caring. Maybe she was tired and overworked. Also be very careful with the dishes that come on a burner as the flame on the device they use is impossible to put out at the table. They use a device that literally burns oil uncontrollably in a metal cup. The flame on our table was so huge it was boiling super rapidly the soup. We had to call out loudly for the waitress to return and she said the flame couldn't be reduced and took the whole thing back to the kitchen to be put out. I don't think the fire department would like this device. Luckily no one got hurt. The restaurant should change to safer burners if they want a flame at the table. And focus on better service
Just ordered a larb from Uber eats .. you put 1/4th the amount of chicken in it compared to usual ... Do tell your staff to fill the right amount of chicken for a $15.50 dish . It was mostly the cabbage .. the mince chicken was barely there. You are a good restaurant .. but this was rather negligent. Thanks
This place used to be great. I got the pad thai with chicken and its not that good. Its edible but it pretty disappointing. The noodles are bland and salty. The chicken is rubbery and not flavorful. Natalie Thai right up the street is a little more expensive but 10 times better than what I got from Tree House thai tonight. I won't be returning and im a long time customer. Byeeee
Extremely mid representation of Thai food, equivalent to sauce starters from the store. There's one TV above the bar if you just want a place to sit and watch a game.
I ordered the larb (something I eat frequently and love) and it was inedibly sweet. Other than that it was good, but there was clearly a mistake in preparing the dish. It had at least 2 times the normal amount of sugar. To the point that it tasted like a dessert. Which, for me, ruins the taste and the heathiness of the dish.
This is N🚫T the same Tree House Thai from before the pandemic. Been coming here for years and I watched the service and quality / portions of the food change. I hope they get back to how they used to be. I don't know if they are short staffed but it's bad service these days. I miss the pad see ew
We ordered takeout from here so can't really judge service or atmosphere. We ordered the panang curry, pad thai, cashew nut chicken, pad kra pao, and a shrimp and salmon curry. The panang curry and cashew nut chicken were better than the others. We all rated it fair at best. Was nice to try a new restaurant, but we won't order from here again.
I had been a regular customer in the last 6 months, and the waiters always treated me well. However, today I stopped by and the owner took my order, I order what I always order, and the owner misheard the order and brought me something different. When I mentioned that that wasn’t what I had pointed in the menu he got super angry and raised his voice to me. I would have happily paid for that plate and the other one, but since he mistreated me in a very aggressive way, and gave me no option, I stood up and left very respectfully. Will Never come back.
Ordered a pretty large order for 3 - $100 for takeout. Trusting it’s all correct, I paid and took it home. When I open the bag, I realize that they forgot an order of jasmine rice that comes with the order. How are you supposed to eat curry or crying tiger without rice? We decided to offer the one order of rice we had for the curry because we soon found out that the crying tiger dish was not edible. The meat was so dry and over-cooked (we didn’t specify how to cook the meat when we ordered). The 3 of us each tried a piece and couldn’t even bite it, let alone chew it. It tasted rubbery and hard - just not what a decently cooked steak or crying tiger meal should taste like. It was unfortunately very disappointing. Giving it 2 stars instead of 1 because the other food orders were okay, but to forget food and then have the food over-cooked so it all just had to be trashed, was frustrating.

Ordered pineapple fried rice and got completely different item?? Tried to call for refund but no one picking up
I've been here several times, the food is decent but portions are small, we ordered Tum Yum Koong, it was $10 had 3 shrimp, a hand full of mushrooms but no other meat in about 12oz container. We also ordered red chickent curry for $16, hardly had any chicken in it as well, and 2 thai teas, some how came out to $45, we ended up getting tacos across the street since we were still hungry. There's several thai places around most likely we won't be back.
Tried to come here for lunch. I walked in (as a solo diner) about 30 seconds after a couple (man+woman). It wasn’t busy at all and we were both sat immediately. The staff person (understandably) wrote down the order of the couple first. However, they then proceeded to put in their order to the kitchen. Then wait approx. 4 minutes to then carry out their appetizers. Then took down a beer order from the couple. Fulfilled that beer order to their table, and then gave a check to another diner… All of this before ever coming over to take any sort of order from me. And no, I wasn’t still browsing the menu or giving any sort of inclination to the staff that I wasn’t yet ready. I was sitting there, watching all of this occur with the menu closed. Please consider restructuring your order of operations when it comes to customer service.
Worst place to go. Never going back there! Went in for lunch with my husband, we saw the reviews and thought oh ok maybe it could be good. WRONG! shrimp on fried rice was old and tasted weird, we got the pork ribs. Big mistake! They were old, and the sauce they put on it was nasty. We got another dish and they tasted like cleaning supplies. Never going back. Waiter asked if we wanted the containers to put the food to go, I said no because the food was nasty. The flavor was disgusting. He just said OK. It's like he didn't even bother. I'm like nope. Rather drive. Little more towards marina/culver city and go to ekamai
There was an older lady with glasses that took my order, she was rude and had a bad disposition. I ve been going there for years and they just lost a loyal customer also the food has changed, taste different.
all delivery drivers. The food is never ready on time and if you don’t get in trouble for being late and you Mark said the food isn’t ready which is what you’re supposed to do. They will leave you a thumbs down. In addition their food is always cold so your customers are never happy. This place is a dump.
