Tried this place last night on a recommendation from a "foodie" friend. Amazing!!! We only had chicken pad Thai, vegetable fried rice and an order of egg rolls. I'll tell you I have never been so THAI satisfied!!! I can't wait to order again and seriously get into their menu. Updates of joy to follow!!!
Instagram: @eat_saw_telle Eat: sour sausage, curry dumplings, khao soi with beef shank, pad thai with crispy pork, seafood fried rice. Saw: house-made, thin red line, fermented and meant it, no skips, pork assembly required, scarlet broth, Thai for first, amber illumination, yum yum. Tell(e): 9.72 / 10 Hi-bite: everything Lo-bite: none
Tuk Tuk Thai is tucked away on Sawtelle south of Santa Monica Blvd, but it is an absolute gem!! I’ve ordered take out twice from across the menu, but last time came to pick it up and was charmed by the premises. The interior is completely soundproofed from the traffic outside, the people are beautiful and their Tom Sab Beef Shank is a lemongrass-Herb-Citrus flavor explosion that’s out of this world. If you’re in the neighborhood, just stop in and enjoy a healing moment with this hot pot of heaven in the midst of west LA!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Tuktuk and was thoroughly impressed. Their menu offers a wide variety of classic Thai dishes, all prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients. I opted for the crab fried rice and clear noodles, and both were absolutely delicious. The fried rice was perfectly seasoned, with a delightful mix of flavors and textures. The clear noodles were light and refreshing, a perfect complement to the richness of the fried rice. If you're a fan of Thai cuisine, I highly recommend giving TukTuk a try. You won't be disappointed!
Tuk Tuk Thai is a very casual restaurant off the main street. There is limited street parking out front with meters and lots of restrictions. We found a spot that had free parking after 8 PM. We made a reservation since there were 6 of us. The outside dining area was full. We sat inside. There are a few counter seats inside and tables and chairs inside. The restaurant is small and very busy. The red neon light and the original art on the wall gave the restaurant a cool vibe. We ordered family style. The most popular dish was Pad Zee Ew with beef was the crowd favorite. We ordered it with mild spice and it still had a little bit of heat. The Tom Yum soup with shrimp was big enough for 6 people and we still have some left over. The soup came in a pot with a flame to keep it hot. We ordered a few items to start and kept ordering items as the night went on. Everyone liked the spring rolls and OG garlic wings and the dipping sauce. The service was great and they helped us pick out dishes to try. The 18% tip was included on our bill but the waiter still expected us to tip on top of that. He didn’t realize the tip was already included. I would recommend this place and want to try more items on the menu.
Went here with a friend and his mom while I’m visiting LA for the day. They are vegan so it can be hard to find options. Luckily, there were plenty at this restaurant! Everyone enjoyed their food and it was so quiet that we had a peaceful and pleasant dining experience. I ordered the lunch pad see ew with Thai wontons, my friend ordered the vegan jackfruit curry rice, and his mom the lunch pad Thai with the vegan spring rolls. The dessert the lunch option comes with, tapioca pudding, was yummy. I think I’ve had better pad see ew but it was still good. I think the portion size for the price is really good because I was struggling to finish (my friends couldn’t finish theirs). Wait time wasn’t bad and service was very friendly! Pad see ew, Thai wonton, and curry featured in photo.
could increase the portion just a little but tastes delicious otherwise; i ordered curry fried rice and it tasted actually much better than i expected. glad i made the choice of visiting instead of going to their sister store next door. service on point, but the lowest default tip option is 20%. looks a little greedy to me.
Amazing vegan options! I come here often and love the pad see ew and jackfruit curry. Also the tapioca pudding is a favorite!
We ordered the drunken glass noodles, yellow curry, and chicken sautee. The food was amazing and the atmosphere is amazing!
I ordered takeout here a lot and sometimes come in for a dine in too. Every dish that I have had is amazing. Very balanced flavor and nice presentation. Def my fav Thai spot in west LA
Best Thai food in Los Angeles. Thai friend introduced me to this place - claims it’s quite authentic. I’ve been many times and never disappointed.
We ordered takeout the food was great with amazing flavours and great quality. We could tell the food was prepared with love and care 💖
Super cute inside and a very comfortable outside even in January. Food was delicious, we got the Pad see ew and the yellow curry with tofu. Vegan option for a Thai tea!
Tuk Tuk Thai is a go-to for us. The tapioca pudding is a must—creamy and perfectly sweet—and the Thai BBQ pork rice is packed with flavor and super satisfying. Their pad thai and other noodle dishes are always amazing as well! A must in sawtelle
We love Tuk Tuk Thai for so many reasons. Topping them all is their impressive variety of dishes, ingredients, and flavors! Lots of noodle bowls, rich curries, and potently garlicky stir-fries. We love the curry dumplings, morning glory (garlic heaven!), green curry, BBQ beef (the dipping sauce is spicy-sour-salty-so-good!), and the Tom Kha hot pot. They also have seasonal dishes/menus, where you’ll find comfort foods like jok (congee) and bitter gourd with egg. And if they have it, make sure you save room for their mango sticky rice dessert! Their dining room is quite small (they have patio seating too), but we’ve never had to make a reservation. Probably because we usually go early for lunch. It does tend to get crowed around dinnertime, so I’d highly recommend reserving a table. Parking is pretty easy; lots of metered parking along Sawtelle. There’s also a small public lot across the street (on Idaho) with fancy new pay stations.
Authentic Thai place! Remember to ask for Thai spicy, not American spicy, to make it authentic. We ordered green bean, fried rice chicken, and drunken noodle beef, all of which were YUM! Freshly cooked and quickly served. Service was very friendly and we could sit outside with the eater on. Oh, so comfy! Highly recommend!
I been here like 5 times already, it’s so yummy…a little bit more expensive than others but it’s nice tho!!! But the to-go bag is inconvenient when u ordered a lot actually, the food & service 10/10!
The food is very delicious, I love coming here and plus the stuff is very friendly and so sweet. Best Thai food:) . Highly recommended
amazing amazing food. one of my favorites in sawtelle and the west side. nice atmosphere and very chill. Suki Talay and Drunken Noodles were highlights but everything was amazing great.
Recommended!!! I am Thai (doing a short layover in LA) Randomly searched for Thai restaurant on Uber eat and this place seemed great with lots of options. I ordered my all time favorite I always have when i was in Thailand. This place is absolutely amazing!!!! The food is beyond delicious the portion is amazing!!! All the ingredient are fresh and taste sooooo goood!!! Love it!!!
Loved the chicken satay and pak boong — both were so good! 😋
Tuk Tuk is a hidden gem! The Peanut Pad Thai is absolutely delicious, with the perfect balance of flavors and textures. The noodles were cooked just right, and the peanut sauce was rich and flavorful. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere cozy. Highly recommend for an authentic Thai experience! We will definitely be going back again!
I’m honestly confused why this place isnt rated higher. The food is phenomenal. The service is phenomenal. And I’m a tough customer when it comes to thai. So delicious. Flavors so well balanced. And they cater to spice preference and are great with allergies. I LOVE extra extra spicy food but so many places erase all the other flavors when you ask for spice. Here you will get the most flavorful spicy food. My boyfriend hates spice and they make his mild food also extremely flavorful. Genuinely confused. Should be rated higher.
All of the classic Thai dishes with lots of excellent additions. Really cool space, but more importantly really great taste. Also everyone here is incredibly nice. One time while waiting for a takeout order, they came outside to insist on turning the heat lamp on so I would survive the freezing 60 degree weather.
Tuk Tuk Thai is a delightful little Thai restaurant located right in the heart of Sawtelle's vibrant dining district. My friend and I decided to try it out on a Sunday evening and we were both extremely impressed by the friendly service, speedy cooking, and delicious flavors of the dishes we ordered. As soon as we walked in, we were warmly greeted and promptly seated by the hostess. Our server came by right away to take our order - shw was very friendly and helpful in explaining the menu items we were interested in. We started off by sharing an order of the spicy Sriracha chicken wings, which had the perfect crunch and zing from the chili sauce. The chicken was moist and fell right off the bone. One dish I highly recommend is the chicken khao soi - this is a creamy coconut curry noodle soup from Northern Thailand. The broth was incredibly rich and complex, with warming spices like curry, clove and cardamom. The egg noodles were tender and absorbed all the flavors of the broth. The chicken was also perfectly cooked with a nice char. My friend got the kao man gai chicken, which is Hainanese-style poached chicken served over rice with a sweet and salty ginger sauce. The chicken was so moist and flavorful - a simple but excellent preparation. To drink, we decided to try the pandan Thai iced tea, which had an intriguing nutty floral aroma from the pandan leaf. The tea was creamy and sweet without being overpowering. We also got a small carafe of chilled sake, which was deliciously crisp and smooth. Overall the prices were very reasonable, especially considering the high quality of ingredients and care taken in the cooking. From the warm greeting when we first walked in to the caring goodbye from our server, the service at Tuk Tuk Thai was outstanding. Our food came out quickly and all of our needs were promptly attended to. You can tell the whole staff takes pride in providing an excellent dining experience. I highly recommend Tuk Tuk Thai if you're in the Sawtelle neighborhood and craving authentic, fresh Thai food. With their friendly service, fast service, incredibly tasty dishes, and value prices, this little restaurant should be on your radar for all your Thai cuisine cravings!
I ordered the Grapow with Wagyu beef and fried egg. It was delicious. I also got the curry puffs and the Thai iced tea. The service was very good and they were very attentive.
Stopped by for lunch while I waited for my dog around the color! Ordered a soup, seafood fried rice, street food pad thai, a roti and a coconut flan .. it was all super yummy! Not too much oil, sharable and enough left overs to eat later! Service was friendly, approachable and super attentive. I’m not sure why it was slow but I’d be here once a week if I lived near by! I highly recommend it!

Have had this place multiple times, both to go and in person. Excellent and flavorful food, courteous staff, and consistently always is satisfying! Particularly love the eggplant, the tom yum soup, pad kee mau (drunken noodle), and mango sticky rice. Their rice ale was also amazing! The food is always brought in a timely manner and I would recommend that if you’re in west la or sawtelle, to definitely dine here!!! Have had this place multiple times, both to go and in person. Had a fantastic first time eating here. Definitely earned a repeat customer. Food came quick and was delicious. Chantelle was such a helpful server and treated us to some complimentary drinks. Service like that makes people enjoy a place more than even they know in the moment. Be back soon
We went w a large group. The food was insanely delicious and authentic. The service was great and the atmosphere was cool and comfortable. Tuktuk will definitely be a go to spot for me and my friends!
I am visiting LA and highly enjoyed the delicious eats and hospitality from the TukTuk restaurant on Sawtelle. I loved the green curry dumplings, fish cakes, and drunken noodles. Great family style but also could see me going in for just a quick bite for a lunch or snack. The warm and friendly staff also made the visit very special. I can’t wait to return.
The ambiance of the restaurant is really nice. The servers were thoughtful and always checked in if we needs anything. The food was exceptional, having different spice levels to fit everyone’s needs.
Have been coming to this place for two years and it never disappoints. It's my favorite spot for thai food in Los Angeles. I cannot recommend this place enough. Parking is usually pretty easy on Sawtelle as well!

The place is good, seafood fried rice and pork collar are great, Thai fried rice is not as good. Mango sticky rice is also a good choice, but I only had it once and the mango is not quite sweet (the rice is pretty good though). Two suggestions: 1. Make the place brighter, it is too dark. 2. One of the waitress please work on her attitude towards people (i.e., do not discriminate).
Tuk Tuk Thai offers pretty good Thai food with a big menu and a casual atmosphere. The food ranges from great to just Ok. Starting off with the best, we had Pad Zee Ew, which had an excellent smoky flavor. Crab Fried rice was soft and flavorful with a good amount of crab. The Taro Puff was an excellent dessert with a subtle almond flavor puff pastry stuffed with rich taro paste. Otherwise, the chicken Satay was disappointing compared to others I’ve had around LA. The pork Grapow was interesting but didn’t pack a whole lot of flavor. The service was alright, but I got the feeling that they were understaffed, as the servers were always running around and seemed rushed. I hope they can get enough people to make sure each waitstaff is not too busy.
Probably best Thai food in West LA but pricey as expected. Love that they do seasonal dishes. Whether you’re dining in or get delivery, it’s always good and flavors are consistent most of the time.
For vegans not many options. Medium spice is very very spicy. I ordered Tom Kha, was very watery and crazy spicy. The waiter brought it back, even second day I could not finish it. And the veggie rolls been temperature wise really hot and parts burned. $50 bill but no food satisfaction. I lived 4 years in Thailand - the spices they use are legit but execution is lacking. Minimal Interior with red lights. It’s rather dark there to see the food.
We had a wonderful light dinner at Tuk Tuk Thai! Especially loved the Crab noodles that had a beautiful umami flavor and a kick. The noodles are cooked to perfection with a nice chew. We also ordered the seasonal appetizer Thai beef jerky that was very tasty esp paired with sticky rice. Overall we would definitely come back to try more items!

Very good thai very small portions hence the 3 stars. They jip you on portions if you get take out, every-single-time🤌 Order at your own risk you've been warned.
Below average food. Waitress have no common courteous of look elsewhere when we are typing credit card password. Decor is cool tho.
We used to be frequent customers and highly recommended this restaurant to friends in LA until recently. Lately something happened and they have been messing up the orders, in addition to the rude service. We were disappointed last time when dined in, and decided to give it another chance (delivery). They completely ignored my requests and the food was subpar. We are probably not coming back. I tried calling their number but reached a “this mailbox is full” message… SMH..
Got the Panaeng Curry. It cost $18 (not including fees, taxes, etc) and ends up looking like this. Literally just chicken, curry paste, and coconut milk. Not a vegetable in sight. Flavor is super basic. The real problem is that the portion size is terrible. It’s probably 8oz (1 cup) total. The container is small and probably 60% empty. Why would anyone pay $18 for a little bit of bland chicken? This review is for a delivery order (which I wouldn’t recommend), seems like they offer a better product when you dine in.
I ordered 3 dishes from Uber Eats in Tuk Tuk. Grapow with pork shoulder, holy basil fried rice and string beans. First, all 3 dishes were come in with very small portion. I’m 100% sure they’re 20% less than the in store dining portion. Second, the food quality is unsatisfied with what I paid for, the pork shoulder in grapow is very salty and the rice is soggy and sticky. I was extremely surprised by how less the portion of string beans. It’s almost half of the portion than any other Thai restaurants in West LA. I paid $13 for a kid size dish with countable string beans in the box. Please take your take-out order seriously. This food portion and quality is not align with your high price.
It is a not good experience here. There are too few waiters. So The movements were in a rush. When serving the dishes, they spilled water on my friend's leg carelessly. We ordered the noodles with medium spicy, they forgot to put chili in it. When we are still eating, the waitress push us to check the bill and pay. She informed us that we have five minutes to leave the restaurant because there are some people waiting outside.
