I use to come to this place way back in 1997 wow long time ago this is was the first Zankou to open and the owner was very nice always there with a smile greeting everybody coming to the restaurant very helpful very nice welcoming the food is amazing. 25 years later and everything still the same. Nothing change. We have to support the locals so they can stay open. They open so many other branches, but this is, was the original one keep up the good work.

Half chicken tarna, half beef shwarma w/ hummus, rice and salad - 5 🌟! Zankou is a great place close by that serves large plates that are convenient and quick for lunch. If I'm not in a hurry I go for the kabob plate but when I'm more pressed for time the vertical meats are the way to go. The chicken tarna goes super well with their house made garlic sauce. Sometimes they don't include it so make sure you ask. The beef shwarma is perfect with the hummus. I love getting the combo so I can go back and forth between hummus and garlic sauce. I love their rice and the tarna/shwarma plates normally do not include rice but Zankou is great about substituting sides. This plate fills me up so much I only need a light dinner. I skip the pita so I don't overdo it which happens anyway with the amount of food they serve. Be careful with the little side peppers. They are quite hot.

We love their chicken kabab! It tastes good with or without the garlic sauce, but definitely way better with the garlic. Their cucumber salad is prefect. It's not too tangy like other other places I've tried. Their hummus that comes with the dish is tasty as well. We like this location because there's more parking and it's not as busy as their other location in Pasadena. Their prices are very reasonable also ($9.99 for the plate vs. 12.99 and higher at other places). I hope the chain plans on opening more locations in Orange/ Riverside County.

I wouldn’t wanna hang out here but the food is always good. Late night service / delivery is great to have, although the meat gets a bit dry later on. Get some extra sauce!

Always delicious Zankou Chicken!! Got the wrap this time w extra garlic and tzatziki sauce inside. It’s the same deliciousness whichever side of the family’s location you go to. HOWEVER, the ladies working the counter at this OG location could not have been more off putting. I felt as if I had offended them or was asking them to do something terrible as I placed my order. Their whole demeanor was so scornful I never want to come back to this location.

Zanku chicken always hits the spot. We usually order the chicken kabob with rice, cucumber salad, grilled tomatoes, onions, hummus and pita bread. If your hungry you can finish it all. But we order extra cabbage salad and share for 2 people. The food is good. There is parking, but sometimes it gets full. Sometimes lots of homeless asking for money or the mental ones hanging around and screaming randomly. That's just the norm for LA.

This place would hit the spot, but lately when we order from here the tsaziki has been tasting wayy too strong garlic & it never tasted like that before it’s been like this couple times already. Also, their kabob meat has been having spice to like what. Their food seasonings has been off few times. The food was great, but the chicken should be washed thoroughly inside and out, and the place should be a little cleaner; even the bathroom was very dirty. I hope they improve many aspects of the cooking. The rice needs more spices and salt. I hope to come back again and find everything even better.

Zankou Chicken offers good food; however, my experience at this location was unpleasant. 1. Tipping should be an opt-in choice made by the customer, not applied without clear consent. 2. I was not verbally informed that my total was $45.50. When I completed payment, the charge was $50, with no explanation or notification. 3. This is a self-service restaurant. My food became ready, but no one made any effort to inform me that it was available for pickup. Please see the attached image for reference.

This place has seriously gone downhill. I do not want to have to keep checking my order to make sure they got everything right. Lady went to another man that was barely came in then came went to me who had been waiting 5 mins before hand. They owe me garlic sauces from every order I ordered from them. If you order from them, check your order!!!

I have been a frequent customer at this location for years. I always order a quarter dark chicken plate. I have had issues in the past where the chicken looked undercooked and Normandie n have brought it to the managers attention. This time when I ordered the chicken, as I'm eating it I noticed that the chicken looked not only undercooked but it looked raw in some flesh areas. I took what I had left and showed it to Josaline who was the cashier and then she showed it to Edwin who was the manager. He immediately assumed that I was trying to get another piece of free chicken when I was only bringing this to their attention to be more mindful of therally cooking your food. He offered then he said you already ate most of it and then proceeds to go back to his duties totally disregarding me. Josilane disputed with me saying well we cook our chicken therally and you can clearly see that meat looked undercooked. i threw the rest of the plate in the trash and I'm very disappointed at my dinning experience here. One time recently after I ate here I had severe diarrhea and had to stay home from work. Edwin apparently doesn't have good customer service skills and I don't see him attempting to remedy this so I won't be dinning here anymore, but I will caution anyone that eats here, if you order the chicken make sure it is cooked therally before you eat it.
