Great food at low price. The plates look small but are very filling. Fast food atmosphere with home cooking taste.

Love this place. I've known the family since they first came to the US. They where my neighbors. Always loved the food.

We come thru los banos a couple of times a month and stop here to have our Menudo.. it is the best that I have tested. The service is good too.

Food was delicious and the portions generous. Pollo asada was especially tasty! The burritos have a spicy kick to them!

So we stopped here on the way home from Gilroy.The food was very good.I had chili Colorado combo plate.My wife had carne asada fries.2 of our family members had a torta and camarones a la diabla.And let me tell you all the food was very,very flavorful and tasteful.And I hope the Kettle Corn we gave them was just as good,from S&B Kettle Corn out of Fresno Ca..😁

The el grullense in Los banos is a really good place where to have lunch. The staff is nice and available, the quality of food and service is great. I'll definitely come back for yours burritos!

We stopped for lunch and had the best carne asada tacos and wet carnitas burrito. The staff were polite and helpful, and the food came quickly. We will be coming back.

I love this place, the chili verde super nachos are my favorite. My wife loves the chicken burritos and tacos. We live in Fresno, so everytime we go through Los Banos we have to make the stop.

Authentic Mexican food with really good tortillas. Do they make them? I don't know, I just know they were excellent. Our tongue burrito was the best thing we had, better, IMHO than King Taco in LA. The relleño was also quite good - a pasilla chili with generous filling and a tasty sauce. Service is walk-up, not table-side, parking is plentiful, the place was quite clean, and there was a very nice selection of salsas on the table.

Shrimp tacos the best we have had so far. Chilaquiles also delicious, sauce a little bland. Portions were great and food was up pretty quick. We fed all of us on a reasonable budget and there's plenty of space inside. A few stares from the locals I chock up to our ambiguous brownness (Fil-primos is hard to nail down on both sides sometimes) -- don't be dissuaded it was totally chill inside.

A delicious local taco place with authentic Mexican tacos! It was DELICIOUS, and the boys can't stop raving about the shrimp taco! It had the perfect amount of flavor and texture on every bite, it was a great experience.

I love this place. Customer service is great, even when I'm trying out my Spanish! The food is consistently good. Salsas are actually spicy (as they should be). I've had maybe half of the menu over the years. Some of my favorite items are: sopes, asada quesadilla, shrimp ceviche, and of course tacos. My family and I always stop here to eat when we are passing through Los Baños.

I had the shrimp and fish tacos both very good but what surprised was the asada and how good it was ... I'm a firm believer that if a Mexican restaurant doesn't have good asada good luck with the rest of the menu but can't wait to drive through Los Banos again just to try something else on the menu...

I’ve stopped by here every chance I can on my way to the national parks. Quick service, excellent food, friendly people. My problem is I can’t seem to order enough quesabirria to keep everyone happy without seconds!

This place was amazing! Me and my family were all grumpy traveling in California, when we stumbled upon this restaurant. The food was quick and delicious. After leaving, we all had smiles on our faces and were ready to hit the road again! I recommend.

Food was hot and fresh, carne asada was super good not fatty at all, very spicy too it was great! My brother had the birria tacos he loved those as well so definitely go check it out and its reasonably priced!

Always make sure to stop through when I’m going between Fresno and the Bay Area. The service is 10 out of 10. The food is always consistently good, And the atmosphere is always friendly and family like. Highly recommend stopping by to get tacos. The Salsa are delicious and spicy!

This place has some excellent Mexican fare. I got the Al Pastor Super Burrito and it was aptly named... super! The flavors were intense and as authentic as I can imagine, being a gringo. The dining room could use a lil bit of an update and the restrooms needed a little work but it hardly detracted from the experience. The staff was friendly and the prices were very reasonable. Next time I want to try out their horchata!

Called ahead to make sure they would have what I wanted. You can call and they will help you in English or Spanish. Once I got there I ordered my food. It was to go so I didn’t really pay too much attention to the atmosphere but it was clean and it smelled good. They made my 4 orders quickly. Once I got home from a long day at work I was able to enjoy my food and wow was it good. My parents like the Al pastor there because it wasn’t as fatty or greasy as we have had it at other restaurants. I will definitely be going again. Especially because they are open later at night and that’s just convenient!

I had the bistec a la mexicana. The price was right, and the food was delicious. Compliments to whoever prepared that sauce on the dish, because this is the best sauce I've had (excluding my mother's). The sauce has a chipotle taste (with other great flavors) that might be a little hot for some people, but for me it was perfect. Overall I love it, and would recommend it to those that want Authentic Mexican food! My dad had the same plate, but with fish and he loved it too.

So I used to love going here when my husband was alive it was like our go to place to eat in LB . I ALSO AM FOND OF THEIR TACO TRUCK LOCATED IN SANTA NELLA. BUT PRICES HAVE GOTTEN A BIT STEEP AND IDK 10 BUCKS FOR 2 TACOS AN A SODA SEEMS A BIT OVER PRICED

Anytime we drive through Los Banos we stop here. Food always good and hot and more than enough. Nachos are really good. I usually get the Super Burrito. Yumm. See ya next time.

Several times here (Nothing Has Changed or Upgraded>>... already attention to detail in my order was a docked point. The food was O.K. No Fountain Drinks. All drinks in cans/bottles; except Horchata. I give a LOW 4 out of 5.

Went in on taco Tuesday. Tacos are $1.50 Yummy tacos. I had tripa and it was perfectly crispy cooked. My girls liked asada tacos and their agua de horchata.

Great quesabirria! Not exactly friendly when ordering but I managed to get a smile out of the cashier when I told her it was our first time there... I ordered 5$ quesabirria thinking I would get 3 tacos like the picture showed.. I tried to ask about how many tacos in Spanish But I guess my Spanish stinks because after I got my food and went home it turns out each Taco was 5 bucks and I only ordered 3 apparently all on the same plate and only recieved one consome to boot... But Dang man.. it was worth it.. Delicious and decadent... Sope was a little tough but overall a pretty good spot to eat at.. Surprised there wasn't more people in the restaurant.. Its probably due to their mobilized food trucks that are scattered inside the city limits.. But they aren't all equal.. Probably the best quesebirria you'll find at the restaurant although the quesabirria served from one of the trucks near the bowling alley was top notch too.. The other ones I havnt had the same luck with..

UPDATE - Although this was a problem, I'm assuming it was inadvertent and once I went in and talked to them, they were able to eventually sort it out and refund my money. ---- These people are thieves. DO NOT EAT HERE. I ate here with a friend on April 17th, the food was okay, my bill came out to $24.41. They charged my credit card for $244.12 and have not returned my call to fix it. Until they do they are nothing more than fraud committing thieves. I understand that mistakes can happen, but they have not made any attempt to fix it.

I had a sope (asada) and tacos (both asada) gotta keep it basic when trying a new spot. My hudband had a carne asada burrito. My food was a bit on the spicy side. The meat was full of flavor and the tortillas were actually homemade which made the good taste great. Best Mexican food I've had since moving to Los Banos.. (3 stars because the dining area is filthy. Walls, floors and tables need to be wiped down periodically. Dust gathered on the walls and floors isn't how a restaurant should look, especially when they had 6 workers all cooking and it wasn't even busy. Someone should be cleaning too.)

This place has pretty good food, but however the staff are lazy and they always close like 30 minutes earlier than they say and act like they don’t care….

The contents of my chicken super burrito were very good, but it was really loosely wrapped and became pretty messy by the end of it. Also, it loses a few points in my book that chips aren't included, even for dine-in.

Food was good ! Meat a little tough! And a little pricey! For $12.99 plates small piece of meat! To much onions and jalapenos! Love the veggies but total over kill. Workers were friendly.

My mother and aunt had the menudo, it was watered down and needed extra everything (including salt) to "doctor it up" my mom said lol. I ordered the huevos rancheros which looked different than any I've had before and kind of turned me off at first but the flavor was excellent. My biggest gripe was that the eggs were over hard and had zero yolk... My whole reason for loving this dish is mixing the told with the sauce... The beans and rice were not bad. The reason I still give 3 stars and not 2 is because in the past my mother and aunt loved the menudo there, this was just an off day maybe 🤷🏾‍♂️

I decided to change it up today and get something different but I was left disappointed. I got the combo plate with carnitas. The beans and rice were luke warm and the carnitas we're quite salty. I've been coming here since it opened but now I'm a bit deterred from coming again. For the high prices, I would expect better quality. Also, it was dirtier that I had experienced before.

Food tasted pretty good. I never got a beer because I felt $7 was too expensive for just a bottle of beer. I'm also surprised they don't have guacamole as they don't have avocados. Kind of a place to go if you're desperate. But at least it's open late! Would I go again? Not so sure... Taco Bell might be about the same.

This place was disappointing. Tacos are tiny and cashier was rude. The order of rice and beans was served on a tiny plate with a serving size for a toddler. Sadly will not be coming here again.

The food was good, but the service was bad. I ordered 4 tacos of carne asada and a jamaica drink, I had eaten two and a half of my tocos. Then I stood up to go to the restroom, I took 5 minutes or so, anyway when I went back to continue eating at the table I was eating, my food was gone. So I asked the person who was doing the cleaning , where was my food? She said "I though it away cause I didn't c anyone here". Then I went to the register to c if they were going to replace my order, they said " no" I was so mad! There for I will never eat their again. So my advice to u is IF U EVER DESIED TO COME EAT THEIR, DON'T GET UP TO GO TO THE RESTROOM, in BETWEEN UR MEAL just stay put and hope u don't pee ur pants.

I have eaten at El Grullense many times I love there food but today 10/31/19 I ordered menudo and sope with agua fresca, the menudo looked old I asked for grano& pata and didn’t get any or salsa, sad that having DoorDash makes restaurants think they can screw u over.

I bought tacos de lengua here and honestly these were the most disgusting tacos I’ve ever had! The meat was just flavorless I spent more than $60 here to have a good lunch and ended up throwing out more than half of it away..

The girl at the front taking orders was so rude. I walk in she ignores me, I'm the only one in the restaurant. She walks in the back and takes her sweet time. Im african American by the way. While ordering from her she asked for my ID to use my debit card which I have the pin too. She was literally about to refuse me service . when my food is done, she put my two super burittos on the counter instead of in a bag and when I asked if I could have a bag the girl gave me attitude. I spent 35.00 in this place and thats how they treat there customers? Never again will i spend my hard earned money here. Disgusted.

Went around 9:00pm customer service was not good. Floors dirty. Me and my boyfriend ordered 2 tacos and been n cheese burrito. Cheese was on one side and beens on the other, very strange to not mix it and the cheese was cold and not melted at all. They gave us one salsa to share, and seem bothered by us even asking for one. Tacos weren't very fresh tasting. The tortilla was hard around the edges. Sticking to taco trucks. So unfortunate because we usually love el grullense in other towns like morganhill or Gilroy.

I recently went to eat here with my family. I don't eat meat so I ordered a bowl of rice, my family ordered tacos. We were asked if dine in or take out and we replied dine in. Our food was served on the cheap paper plates that fold when they get soaked by the oil, my rice was not even in a bowl or Styrofoam cup. It was served on a mini paper plate. The rice had pieces of meat in it. My family did enjoy the tacos but the presentation and lack of customer hospitality made the place seem like just a taco shop in a gas station instead of a restaurant. What a shame because their place is actually nice.

This is the El Grullense located by Hot Depot. I bought a beef burrito during the holidays approximately 2 weeks ago. When almost finished with the burrito I felt something thin and hard in my mouth..it was someone's finger nail. I'll never go back.

Bad service, cashier did not take my order correctly, and did not even bother to repeat my order to make sure it was correct. Got home and saw that my order was wrong, and had to go back and once again my order was wrong. Definitely not going back.

They never have aguate, they never give you take-out salsa unless you ask, and they charge for take-out salsa. They also charge 3% card payments. Food is never fresh, and tortillas are stale half the time!

Horrible customer service. I have eaten her so many times yet this last time has ruined it. Waited 20 minutes for food when nobody was here in lobby. Finally went up and they forgot to even cook our food. Waited another ten minutes while cook and cashiers were staring at my girlfriend and I as if we did something wrong. Most of the stuff is just chatting and laughing not accomplishing much. So much for a local eatery that we will no longer support.

This place is a big joke. I spent $30 for a nasty cold burrito and a messed up order! I mean how can you messed up when I have to say my order 3 times?! Stopped here during my trip to see my father's grave for the first time. Customer service was inattentive and impersonable, and the food lacked the attention to detail that it should have had. The shrimp in the Coctel de Camarón not deveined and I could feel the grit in every bite. The nachos that my sister ordered were loaded with fake nacho cheese sauce ugh! I ordered the Camarones a la Diabla, which was spicy but not seasoned well. Furthermore, the Jamaica was obviously made from concentrate and probably loaded with high fructose corn syrup. This place is not worth the $50 that we wasted, and we obviously won't be returning.

I called to place an order to go at 7:00 pm the lady who took my order said it would be ready within 15-20 minutes. It was 7:45 and I still didn’t received my food. Super upset I understand it takes a while but not that long and to top everything they messed up on my order half of it was soggy and uncooked. Extremely disappointed in the service. Horrible horrible customer service, arrived 1 hour before closing time and was told they were serving take out only (granted there was people inside eating with a red tray for dine in). My wife and I decided to dine in, got my food, sat down and started eating. Employee who was taking out trash, proceeded to just stare at my wife and me eating our food. I caught her staring 2 times and made eye contact back. She then decided to lock the door 30min before closing. After my wife and I finished eating, we tried opening the door to leave and it was locked. The employee standing right next to us ignored us while she put in a new trash bag and made us wait for about a min to open the door for us to leave. She made a face at us while leaving, just a horrible experience!!! Wasn’t the first time either.

No the best burrito, ordered the typical carne asada super burrito. Salty dried up meat...more like a jerky texture. No avocados, barely any sauce in it. I should have read the reviews before ordering, because they are right about this place.

This place is ridiculous. For one the place had no one in other than a family already eating. My boyfriend and I both come in order two slopes and 6 tacos. Our order number was 120. As him and i both sat and patiently waited. They called up order 121, than 122 right after. My boyfriend went up to the cashier asked them about our food.They gave him a dirty look and the cashier had to ask the cooks (which were outside messing around) what had happened. Well they never made it. Once they did. My boyfriend walked up to get it, both the make cooks giving him a dirty look and talking in Spanish about him. I know it was because I am Hispanic and speak fluent Spanish. This will be the last time we come. On top of all. Place is dirty. Floor has food all over and instead of them cleaning, all workers mess around.

The food tasted like the used lard to cook it. I ordered chicken enchiladas. The horchata was extremely sweet. I just ate the chicken from inside the enchiladas and the salad. I won't recommend this place. I saw many Latinos walking-in and ordering tacos, maybe that would it be a better choise, too late now.

Bought tacos and a burrito. The tacos literally were flavorless. I looked at them it looked like the meat went straight on the grill with no preparation. I used to enjoy El Grullense unfortunately they aren't serving up food as before. The burrito was okay I think the beans and condiments made it okay. I will not return.

You can't taste the flavor of the food because they put too much hot salsa. Horchata very sweet and no flavor at all. Cashier's was tired like she wanted to go home. We order burritos, quesadillas, sopes and my whole family was complaining about how spicy the food was and sopes very poor prepared. Very disappointed.

I ordered 4 tacos asada with everything and sope. I asked for extra jalapeños and the red salsa. The cook laughed and said something under his breath about me being white just because I wasn’t speaking Spanish or miss pronounce my words. FYI this was all in Spanish between the cook and the girl who was taking my order. The girl smirked and looked down while the cook was laughing with a huge smile. I hardly even come to this place and the only reason I came cuz family wanted the tacos. I felt unwelcome and treated unfair. The next people in line spoke English too and the had no issue. Maybe it’s because I have orange hair who knows. I world not even recommend coming back just based on the service and the order was incorrect. They gave me all green salsa that’s not even hot even on my tacos after I told her on the side. The extra chili was a joke it was only 3 jalapeños which usually they give a small container and I paid extra for this! Got home without checking my bag before leaving. Yes I know my mistake but like I said I hardly come and when I do I never hard this issue. My partner for white hair in his tacos which made me even more not wanting to eat the food. I live across town from this location and I didn’t want to drive back to fix just to get treated horrible again. Just because someone is white skin with orange hair doesn’t mean they don’t understand Spanish. I just don’t speak it cuz I already know I have issues pronouncing words. Ugh maybe get the order right before judgement because you food is disgusting. Salsa not even spicy even if it’s the normal green! I will be calling soon to speak with a manager because this was unfair. I have photos on my order even with the hair we found in the nasty fatty meat of the tacos.

Every time I get to go, the tortillas are hard like they dont warm them well enough. So they break when I pick the taco up. They don't put salsa or limes if u dont ask most times. It's not bad. But I dont like cold food. It looks like they just rush through the orders.

The food was deplorable. I have eaten at El Greazy since they came to LB, and I have watched a decline in their food and service. They were once theeee best Mexican food in LB and last night my super burrito tasted like super cagada. Carne asada was mostly gristle, no tomato, sparingly on the lettuce, couldn’t taste the sour cream. I paid $15 for beans and rice. I know the economy is bad but losing loyal customers is going to prove a lot worse!!!

Today I stopped by at this location on my way home for the first time. Me and my family ordered different plates, I personally ordered a torta and the meat was over seasoned(Salty) and dry it did not have avocado and way to much diced onion. The 2 tacos de cabeza my family ordered was unseasoned and had no salt, but i guess you can add salt. 1 Jarrito drink was $4. Next time I pass by here I will be looking for another place or just go to the next town. Any recommendations???
