We all had a fabulous dinner at Bar Le Cote. Everyone loved their meals. The west coast oysters were soooo good. I enjoyed my seafood paella. Great wine list. Our waitress was awesome. Great vibe inside. Def recommend.
Had been before a few times for lunch while driving up the central coast, but finally stopped by for dinner tonight. This place is astoundingly good. The atmosphere is casual, great music, great vibes, nothing pretentious. The food is restrained and simple, but bursting with taste and some incredibly unique flavor combinations. The scallop crudo we had with mushroom was unlike anything I’ve ever tasted. All of the seafood dishes were amazing, and even the french fries were addictive and delicious. Fantastic wine menu by the glass. And most importantly, the entire staff was kind, friendly, attentive, and made our meal feel like we were hanging out at a friend’s house.
If you’re in Los Olivos, I highly recommend coming here for lunch or dinner. It’s right in the center of the adorable bustling area filled with tasting rooms and restaurants and shops. The seafood here is fresh and everything is prepared perfectly. It’s a cute, fun vibe with really great interior. They also feature Stolpman Vineyard’s (across the street) “Uni” Chardonnay on their wine list which is how I was first introduced to Stolpman (read my other review) and I instantly fell in love with it (and subsequently beelined for after my meal to go purchase the wine). Plus, my friend was secretly in love with the head chef here b/c he’s not only cute - but obvi the man can cook.
Delicious restaurant with farm to table ingredients and seafood focus. Came here with my parents and boyfriend for a nice dinner and we highly enjoyed ourselves. We ordered the Pacific Gold reserve oysters, boat scallop crudo, patatas bravas, BL Caesar, pan con tomate, Santa Barbara halibut, arroz verde, duck a la plancha, and the BLC snack pack (we were going all out). They portioned out the plates and there was a good rhythm. My favorites were the patatas bravas, the pan con tomate, and the BL Caesar. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The duck in particular was robust and had a nice crisp. Parking was easy and free on the street. The booth we were sitting in was on the smaller side, so we had a cozy time. Our waitress was friendly and personable.
This is a wonderful place to have lunch. The service is impeccable (they add a gratuity to the bill, but it’s well deserved) the food is wonderful. We both loved our sandwiches with the crispy chicken on the brioche bun being our favorite but we loved the crispy skin fish sandwich. We also ordered the signature fries, however, we would probably skip those next time. They were a bit salty for our taste and overhyped. Other than that we had a wonderful experience and will be back
Amazing food! I always have to order the green rice and the pudding dessert was amazing! If you sit outside they are pet friendly which was a huge plus for me! Great service and delicious wine BTG!
Had a great dinner with a chicory salad, oysters and paella each split for the two of us. Each dish was great, followed by a sticky toffee pudding. And a nice Santa Rita Hills Pinot.
I've lost count as to how many times I've been to Bar Le Côte. It is "my place." If anyone who knows me wants to take me to someplace I will love, or if I take anyone to a place that I want them to experience something special...it is this special place. The attention and respect for the meal and the guest is unsurpassed. The entire staff is incredible, however we do always request Kate. We've come for lunch and dinner. Each is it's own unique experience. We just don't want it to end!
My new favorite restaurant!! There isn’t another restaurant on the Central Coast like this one. The chef is creative and incorporates local seafood. Today my server was Henry and he made my experience even better than my first visit!! He has great attention to detail, a fun personality, and is very knowledgeable about the menu. The French rosé is delicious. The oysters, fries, and shrimp are SO yummy. The vibes are great too. I can’t wait for my next visit!!
Was recommended to check out this place for lunch and get a reservation—we did both—and wow! Terrific food on the wine tasting trail in Los Olivos. Cool vibey place with outstanding service and well executed food. We got sandwiches which were fab, and the vermouth cocktail. Can’t wait to come back!
Let’s start with atmosphere, we have the opportunity to sit in a booth, which creates great privacy and environment is aesthetically pleasing, giving you for view of the kitchen. Service is above and beyond from host to busser to server to weight staff. Everybody is cohesively on the same page. Our server Kate knew the menu from front to back, my wife and I enjoyed every highlight on the menu ever. Each item was delightfully thought out, each bite felt unique. The item that’s going to stand out to me most for the night is going to be the CRISPY SKIN BRANZINO
Great spot. Fried chicken sandwich for lunch is their go-to. The hamachi and Caesar salad were also good, and the strawberry tart dessert was great. I’d definitely go back and recommend if you’re in town.
We came on a recommendation for happy hour oysters and we are so glad we did! Fresh oysters, beautifully prepared shrimp and half off the sparkling wine for their happy hour! You can't go wrong. The staff is WONDERFUL. Literally every single person who works here took the time to stop at our table and greet and serve us. That's not something you see often and I think it deserves a special shout out. The staff also handled a VERY difficult customer BEAUTIFULLY!!! Honestly, they were much nicer than I would have been but every single one of them were professional and poised. Bravo to them. Loved this place. Next time we won't come for just happy hour (but the happy hour was legit!!! And worth it!!) Don't forget to save room for the CORN ICE CREAM omggggg so good!
We stopped by for happy hours after our lunch up the 101 at Bell's. Greg from Bell's strongly recommended the chicken sandwich. Picture this, we just finished lunch 2 hours ago. By the time we rolled into Bar Le Cote, we were still fairly full. We ordered the sando thinking that we'd bring it for the drive back to LA. Well, we each got a nibble and next thing we knew we couldn't stop eating until it was gone. Yup, Greg was 100% right about the chicken sandwich. It was that addictively good and definitely a candidate for my food hall of hame. We'll have to come back to ascertain if it belongs in the HoF. (Sorry no picture on that sando. Feeding frenzy kicked in before we realized it... ) Oh yeah, the peel and eat shrimps were pretty good too. But it's hard to stand next to the sun and shine. You know what I'm saying...

Visited for a late lunch on Jan 25th, 2026. Spectacular as it was six months ago when I last visited, the time before that, the time before that, etc. all the way back to when they first opened in 2021(ish). Consistent excellence is the mark of a superb restaurant and a very rare to find. Congrats to Exec Chef Brad Mathews and all involved. Looking forward to visit again, again, and again. It's a great place to bring a visiting guest or someone special and BLC is truly special.
The Hospitality and food here is both beyond inviting and exquisitely thoughtful and delicious. Located in the picturesque town of Los Olivos where the small town vibe mixes with a quiet sophistication and a little dash of charm is thrown in for good measure. Bar LeCote is a ‘can’t miss’ experience where you’ll brag to friends and think about the next time you can visit.

Unbelievable food. Unbelievable wine selection and more. Truly one of the best places I have ever experienced and eaten. I feel very fortunate to have been able to dine here for the weekend. Many thanks and I will be back. Bravo!
Really nice place, fresh seafood beautifully presented. We did half order of east Coast west coast oysters plus Gambon shrimp a Caesar salad all of which were delicious. She had the paella which was good a little strong on the saffron and I had the branzino which was small but delicious and had a nice sauce with a kick of spice. For dessert the dark chocolate was awesome. Busy place, definitely get reservations and also only one bathroom 😬 Definitely check it out when in wine country
Seafood was great, especially the shrimps and branzino. Shrimps were fresh and tasty, felt like it was right out of the sea. We were told we had an hour and 30 mins for our table but the mains didn’t come out until an hour and 15 mins in and the servers kept coming to check in on us and we felt so much pressure to eat and leave even thought we had plenty of time and the part that took the longest was waiting for the mains to actually arrive. I’d make sure that you have plenty of time to eat here.

This is a 4.5 stars for the food. I've been three times. It is pretty good. I just think the food could be just a little bit better. Don't get me wrong, we've had a few very good items and a couple OK items. The place is surprisingly affordable, for the level of dining experience. The owners are smart restaurateurs and got a Michelin star at their other store in Los Alamos. I will keep going back.

TLDR: Don’t come here if you’re pregnant. our party of 4 was so excited to dine here but left so disappointed because of rude service. Server was incredibly rude when we asked about options for one person in our party who was pregnant (actually made her cry). Our reso was for 8:15 and when we sat down we were rushed and told that the kitchen was closing soon (?). If one person in your group has a dietary restriction, then no one at the table is able to do the set menu. Also I would recommend that if you only have 1 NA wine on the menu, maybe don’t have one with chamomile that pregnant people can’t drink.
