Los Olivos Wine Merchant & Cafe

They offer a happy hour menu with good savings for the pizza and salads. I did not like the Asian salad, the dressing was too acidic for me. My partner liked the steak and Cobb salad. The pepperoni pizza was good, lots of meat. We really enjoyed the dessert and fries. The wine was too expensive for us to try. It would be nice if they offered a wine flight for 10$ with 3 flavours.

This is one of my favorite places on the Central Coast. I've been going on and off for 10 to 15 years. They have an amazing wine selection, their servers are really knowledgeable and helpful, and the food is just fantastic, no matter what you order. Especially love their pizzas. Jan 2, 2025 - Added a photo of the Alba Pizza. It's mixed cheeses and mushrooms. Along with a topping of arugula and truffle oil. It's still good but not as great as I remembered it from times past.

We totally lucked out getting a table at the last minute at this authentic Italian place in Los Olivos. Whereas the menu was somewhat expensive, it’s worth it because the portion sizes are good and the restaurant sources produce from their own organic farm. Their bread is to die for... be careful as it can fill you up. We shared the gnocchi and their vegetarian mushroom pasta, both absolutely delectable. We loved our food so much, we thought we couldn’t leave without trying out their desserts. And we are glad we did! All in all, it was one of our best dining experiences as we celebrated Mother’s Day one week early this year. We will definitely visit them again in the future.

I've been coming to Los Olivos Wine Merchant for years. They NEVER disappoint with there service, Environment and excellent quality food and wine. I was just there for lunch and had an excellent salad and it was fresh and full of flavor. The server was excellent and while I was waiting had excellent conversation with one of the staff members. I can always depend on a nice afternoon in los olivos and lunch at this excellent restaurant. Look forward to next visit, thank you!

A truly excellent experience. The service was friendly and attentive. The food options were interesting, and my selection (a simple turkey sandwich and baked brie), was surprisingly interesting. I don't normally think of a turkey sandwich as an exciting choice, but their crema was really tasty and I devoured the sandwich! The ambiance is peaceful but interesting with good people watching. Definitely a go to place.

Love this place! Everyone is very warm and friendly. Chef came out to see how we were doing, now that's passion! Food is most excellent, so so fresh! We will be back!

Los Olivos café is a quaint little restaurant. We had such a pleasant time there. We decided to go out of the way to see a new place and this little wine town surprise us so good. We decided to stop by Los Olivos cafe and service and food was fantastic. Matt helped us, he was great. We had some olives, a variety to taste and wine of course. We highly recommend this restaurant and their service, food is high quality. Theres a wine display and you can also buy souvenirs.

We came for a birthday celebration and we were given the royal treatment. We appreciate our wait staff and the manager who secured our reservation.

Great place as usual. Havent been in a long time, and they were as good as ever. All the dishes were fresh, tasty, well presented, large portions, and just perfect. Took only a few pic, the best one of the Gnocchi, which was simply delicious.

Famous movie location, but it keeps its class. Great wine selection, farm fresh produce, laid-back atmosphere, and with exceptional service. Celiac-friendly with vegetarian and gluten-free options available. A great, upscaled experience to enhance any trip in the Santa Ynez Valley.

Olive plate for an appetizer was delightful. Lamb shank and Salmon entrees were fabulous. Our server was Karen, 20 year veteran, impeccable service and wine suggestions were spot on. Phenomenal meal, can't recommend it high enough

Wonderful! The food, service, ambience were all stellar and the wine was also excellent. So good, that we’re going back for seconds.

Stopped in for lunch at this pet friendly establishment and sat outside on the patio. Food, service and atmosphere were great. Don't miss the pastrami sandwich and fries.

Wine Merchany Cafe is right in the middle of town in Los Olivos. We love to stop here when traveling between LA and up North toward San Francisco. The Wine Merchsnt cafe is a beautiful cafe with both indoor and covered patio dining. I would prefer to sit in the patio but that always seems to be occupied, however inside is nice with air condition. The atmosphere is lovely with white tablecloths and shelves lined with wine bottles and the bar in the middle of the restaurant. The food taste great we had the Chicken Ceasar Salad and the Mykonos Pizza, both were excellent! Service is fast and friendly. Prices are slightly above a franchised casual cafe.

This is always our first choice for lunch when in Los Olivos, and today’s meal was as good as we remember!

The lunch was delicious. We all got something different and shared. It was a lot of food. The flights of wine were great. The outside area was soo adorable!! I would definitely go again.

Los Olivos Wine Merchant Cafe is one of my favorite places in the world. I always stop here for lunch on my first day in Santa Barbara wine country and am immediately transported to my happy place. The LO Wine Merchant Cafe serves excellent, fresh, food offers a HUGE range of wines by the glass and bottle, and has really friendly service staff. i will return here as often as I can get to Los Olivos . . .

There are many entrees to choose from. The salads are large enough to share. The food was tasty. They use vegetables that they grow locally which is nice and unique since some of the vegetables are not normally used in salads in many restaurants. I think the wine is what you would come here for. They have very large collection of wine. Something for everyone.

If you want a delicious lunch. You can never go wrong with "The Rachel" it's a pastrami sandwich made just right. I drive 30 miles to eat it. Willy-who managed excellent service and great detail of the restaurant and food.

Hands down the best gluten free pizza crust I’ve ever had. The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Will 100% be returning next time I’m in town!

Food and drinks are really good, and it’s fun to eat at one of the filming locations from the movie Sideways. I don’t think they even have Merlot on their menu - IYKYK.

This is such a fantastic place which was the perfect venue for a light dinner after an afternoon of wine tasting. We sampled some of the many appetizers such as tapenade, bruschetta, and a Caesar Salad, and shared a yummy veggie pizza. The fresh bread was the right accompaniment to it all. Naturally the wines were top notch, too. Then we shopped in the wine store and picked out a couple of bottles to take home. An ideal Central Coast day!

We had a fantastic lunch on the way home from hiking in the mountains. Amazing salads and fantastic pasta! Good value, good service lovely place.

By FAR, the best service I’ve ever had! We had a party of 8 and Marcus was phenomenal! The way he engaged with each and every one of us, his sense of humor, his superior customer service and warmth, made me want to get his phone number and be his best friend! Lol! But, seriously, the food was stellar – from the focaccia that was warm & airy w/ a touch of salt to oil that we died for…to the baked Brie (yum) & fresh, delicious burrata to the short ribs & mushroom ravioli - you cannot go wrong with anything on the menu! Highly recommend this restaurant & we will be coming back on another vacation specifically to dine here.

We had a lovely work lunch here, sitting outside to enjoy the day. Get the steak salad, it's huge and delicious! We did not get any wine but there is iced tea and other things for non drinkers.

This is one of the best tasting restaurants I've been to outside of France, where I spent many summers. Ice eaten areohbd the world, and the freshness and perfection if the steak and shirt ribs seriously impressed me. Darling atmosphere. A hidden gem we stumbled upon. Will return!

This place is always a favorite! The veggies are super fresh and full of flavor, and we make sure to stop by whenever we’re in the area. They’ve got some great vegan options, and my wife loves their Bernat wine. Highly recommend. We’ve never had a bad experience.

Dinner and service were both incredible. I took my parents here and everyone loved the food, it was one of the best meals we have had in a while. Thank you to Marcus for his excellent service despite being a busy Saturday night.

The owners of this café are also own a vineyard and orchards, so they supply the kitchen with the freshest greens you ever wished for. There is a wine tasting available on the spot, too

Wine Merchant creates reliably good dishes with high-quality ingredients. We've happily dined here multiple times and made another visit today. We shared a cup of Carrot and Butternut Squash soup, we split the Steak Chopped Salad and a basket of fries. We each had a glass of wine with lunch. Overall, everything was well-prepared, plated and tasted fresh and satisfying. Service was attentive yet, for us, almost too much. The server continuously interrupted anything we said, which caused us to stop speaking to him. He was trying to be helpful, I'm sure, however we found it a bit off-putting that he was more interested in speaking than listening to our questions or thoughts. This is a Los Olivos mainstay and everything on the menu is thoughtful and delicious. Did I mention the wine shop side of the business in incredible? Also a beautiful bar and outdoor seating.

Nice place, very busy on a Friday afternoon so we were seated at the bar. Unfortunately our Corsica pizza was undercooked and soggy, swimming in cold chicken sausage juice. Second attempt was good but pizza was bland. I asked for red pepper, which came in fast food packets. Salad was very good and they have an excellent wine selection as you would expect. I've had good meals here before but this was not one of them.

It's been a few years but the food looked amazing, but the flavors and experience fell flat. The burger was the best, the pasta and sauce was ok, but the flavors were too extreme and opposite and wish there was more seasoning to bring the dish together. The creme brulee was a HUGE disappointment. The creme was runny watery and not firm. Then the brulee was stuffy and Taffy like, not hard at all and couldn't be shattered. Huge fail for us today when we remember it being good years ago.

Dissappointed in the pizza. Crust was poor. Flavor missing. At 3:00 on a Friday it was the only option along with a salad.

Iwe we're highly discussed with the food. We ordered the filet mignon and it was so spicy I couldn't eat it. I told the waitress and she said " I didn't know it was spicy " I thought they should know the menu 🤦‍♀️ anyway I will not be returning.
