Located within walking of the Tsongas Center in Lowell’s, limited menu but excellent food options. I ordered the fish tacos, they had a lot of flavor and different textures. A tad spicy! I upgraded the chips for hand cut fries. My hubby got the Buffalo chicken tenders and a side of fries. Mai Tai was excellent.
Huge conference happening at the time we went. The host was gracious and attentive. Ultimately, Cobblestone only offered a buffet for the conference attendees, which was fine. The food kept coming out, it tasted good, and bellies were filled. (The chicken gao was both my daughter's and my favorite on the buffet). Cobblestone managed the best they could with being bombarded with 300 people at once. Also, the architecture and features of the building are gorgeous! To the parent who yelled and treated the host rudely about ice tea?!?!? Shame on you. Please exhibit more patience and a better example of being an adult!

My family hosted my sisters baby shower at Cobblestones in August 2023 and had a fantastic experience! We had between 30 to 35 guests and the upstairs event space was perfect. The buffet food and dessert were amazing and several of our guests commented on how good the food was. The staff were also incredibly attentive and kind, we had a handful of kids at the shower and the staff ensured the kids and their mothers had kids menus and were well taken care of. We couldn't be happier with our experience and I would highly recommend using Cobblestones for your next event!
A very nice restaurant in Lowell. The food was very delicious and the service was super friendly. The outdoor seating was nice with a nice view, and the music was good. We ordered burgers and they were really good.
The best chicken marsala I have ever had... I think I will have dreams of it!!! Would go back every single night just for their chicken marsala. The chicken itself the batter. The sauce was out of this world. Nothing I've ever tasted like that before.
We had a great meal and great service last Saturday at Cobblestones. Cobblestones is always a cool place, and a great place to meet with friends. Last Saturday, we were a party of six people, the appetizers were awesome, and the meals were great. And then we all split desserts.
Came here for the first time on Valentine’s Day and I can say it did not disappoint! The food was amazing and our server lil Was truly amazing! 100/10!
Cobblestones of Lowell is a local favorite. If you want a nice, somewhat upscale dining experience, check out Cobblestones. The atmosphere is very nice and quiet. Food is absolutely delicious, and the service is phenomenal. Parking can be a little tricky as the lot at Cobblestones is small, but there's plenty of on-street parking nearby.
Wonderful experience! Excellent service and absolutely perfect food in a comfortable and beautiful environment. We had the Eggs Benedict and the All-American breakfast for brunch last Sunday. Mimosas and Bloody Marys. We started with Beignets to share. Perfection in every way. I can't wait to go back!
The Best Buffalo Chicken Tenders I have eaten ever (Dip them w/a mix of Ranch+BC) Mom's favorite always the Fish & Fries (fried) the staff always attentive and professional. The Christmas Decor it's beautiful and very elegant... ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Cobblestones is a classic, beautiful place to eat, have drinks, or just go for lunch. We were there for the Folk Fest and had a very good time. They took us on a little tour of the place. We got to check out the dining rooms and all the extra little rooms that are in the building, which has a lot of history. There are pictures all over the place of the many people and celebrities who have been there. Make sure you check it out!
Took our son who is at UMass Lowell here for his 21st birthday. Beautiful building and great ambiance. Diverse menu and good service.
The food and drinks were absolutely delicious and our server, Tomas, was very gracious, attentive, and engaging. Highly recommended.
Came by to celebrate a new job and apartment. Lovely food and service. Beautiful dining room. Szechuan crispy tofu and eggplant parm made for good vegetarian options.
Cobblestones was recommended to me by my friend Stephanie. I’ve never taken a restaurant recommendation from her before, so I wasn’t sure if I was about to discover a hidden gem or just end up with one less friend. Turns out…Stephanie nailed it. The restaurant is tucked into what looks like an old mill building, which already gave it character before we even walked in. Parking was easy, we were greeted right away by a friendly host who gave us the choice of inside, bar, or outside seating. We picked outside and even got a mini history lesson about the building from him (we asked), bonus points for hospitality. Our server was quick to welcome us, grab our drinks, and came back with water, and two adult beverages. Another server popped by to ask about an appetizer order, so we went ahead and ordered the crispy honey hot cauliflower. When our first server returned, she confirmed our appetizer order, telling us that she and the other server are a team. The cauliflower did not disappoint, it was crispy, sweet, spicy, and just the kind of app you have to fight over to see who gets the last piece. For dinner, my wife went with the Crispy Szechuan eggplant and tofu, while I ordered the eggplant parmesan. Both dishes had tons of flavor and were perfectly cooked, the pasta that accompanied the eggplant was clearly homemade. These were the kind of meals that make you start planning your “next time” before you’ve even finished “this time”. The vibe outside was great; relaxed, fun, and just lively enough to feel like you’re part of something without having to shout across the table. The people were friendly, the food was excellent, and the drinks were ice-cold.
Had a wonderful time there last night (New Years eve) - the food was excellent!! Drinks nice snd stiff.
This place is the best! Great food and great atmosphere! The owner is fantastic and the staff has been outstanding for many years!! I highly recommend this place to anyone.
Such a lovely place! The food was good. We were able to sit outside to enjoy the day while we ate. Our server, Jessica, was wonderful!
We used the 2nd floor dining room for a Marine Corps League holiday luncheon and it was an incredible success. From planning the menu and schedule with Robin the GM to our Hospitality Team for the day Adra, Ryan and Sophia everything was perfect. Every one of our 45 meals came out perfectly even though there were 5 options! We had a few attendees that brought surprise guests with dietary restrictions and the restaurant acomodated us seamlessly. In short, I can't say enough about how amazing the day went. Thanks everyone!
Cobblestones has been a favorite for years, both for a quick more casual choice and for celebrating special events. They’ve been five start in throwing a baby shower, planning a small gathering, providing a great NYE celebration, brunch, and late night food. Our favorites… well just too many to list, but never have we skipped the buff chix in all of the times we’ve dined here
I can honestly say that I spent the majority of my late twenties and early 30s five nights a week at Cobblestones. Amazing food, good service and a place we always felt welcomed. Many a memory there. Fast forward quite a few years in any time we land ourselves a little for sports or family, cobblestones is a must visit. Highly recommend (and wish Moonstones was still open!)
The food was phenomenal. Went in as a table of four, and we all left extremely happy at the quality and taste of food. The Chicken Marsala might possibly be the best I have ever had in the United States.
I had heard many good things about this historic place & decided to try it. The food & atmosphere were exceptional. I will be back again soon. Great place to watch sports action!
Come to Cobblestones often. All the bartenders are terrific. Alyssa specifically has always been great to my friends and I as I come in! Great service every time, great food and fair prices. Eat here!!
Very quaint ambiance! Our server Katherine was amazingly attentive and kind. We had a great experience and will certainly return.
It was pretty packed when I got in but the staff was very attentive. Food quality and ambience were perfect. Would definitely go back, hight recommend stopping in if you’ve never been.
Our waitress, Alyssa was professional, timely, and attentive to our requests/needs during our visit. We had an amazing time, and enjoyed incredible food attending this restaurant.
Alyssa is so sweet and made our brunch experience extra fun! Buffalo tenders are also phenomenal and bottomless mimosas on Sundays? Can’t go wrong!
Hadn't stopped by in a bit and decided to check it out before a hockey game. We had Shannon as our server, and she was absolutely fantastic. We did a bunch of appetizers and every one was delicious. Will definitely be stopping by again shortly.
My hubby and I went because I was craving your buffalo tenders. We sat at the bar and the atmosphere was busy and fun! The drinks were great and the tenders are THE BEST!! Your restaurant is gorgeous! Your staff was kind and attentive! There is a reason you have been successful for 31+yrs in Downtown Lowell . Keep up the good work & fantastic job you all do! Cheers Xox
Lill P. was a wonderful server and bartender in the Tavern. A very quiet night, but I have no doubt she would be as personable if it were a very busy evening. Very accommodating and friendly. We have not been to zones in many many years. My impression had been that it was very very expensive.; I realize they have options for all Considering going for a brunch sometime and possibly Easter or Mother’s Day due to Lill’s descriptions of menu!
A thousand stars. Every aspect of our dinner was perfection. From the atmosphere, to the very attentive and excellent server Mariah. We had a party of 8 and never once broke conversation to wonder what was going on. This restaurant served perfectly cooked food that tasted amazing. All meals were just right from taste to texture to quality. I've been to a lot of places and this experience has topped them all by far. Will come again and will recommend to everyone. Thank you for a wonderful night and thank you for doing what you do. So sorry to hear Mariah is moving on she is a talented woman. God bless you on your journey forward! Be well
Always a great time and food is good. Our waitress Alyssa is AMAZING and gives us the best experience. She is the reason we keep coming back!! Would definitely recommend if you are in the Lowell area.
Went in for brunch and the food was delicious! Alyssa was our bartender and she was amazing! She was very attentive, friendly and took very good care of us ! She makes an amazing espresso martini! Highly recommend!!
My mother, 4 year old son and I went to eat last night before a show at the auditorium and it was delicious. Cobblestones is a gem in downtown Lowell. Our server, Brayden, was fantastic. Very attentive, friendly and kind to my son. Thank you for a great experience! We will be back soon.
Growing up in Lowell, this was always a favorite of mine (once I got old enough to appreciate it!) all of the restaurants that this organization have owned have been amazing!! They only closed due to circumstances beyond their control!! And they made, what I can only assume, the excruciatingly hard decisions to close them and refocus, for which any of us should applaud them! The food is always on point, staff is always amazing. For those reading this review after reading the few out to harm this restaurant, please make sure you are reading all of the amazing other reviews that 31+ years of serving the Merrimack valley have proven their hard work and amazing food have provided before you form a decision off reviews from a few grumpy people.
We had the pleasure of having brunch today and had Lil as our server. She was on point, always available and made sure our drinks were always topped off. She was an excellent server and we will gladly be returning!
I love this spot! Had lunch there recently for a business meeting. The food was excellent! The prices were extremely reasonable! The service was very good! This is a great spot if you wanna get dinner or go for a business meeting, I highly recommend it.
Strolling through the historic streets of Lowell, MA, I stumbled upon Cobblestones, a charming American eatery housed in an old red brick building that exudes warmth and character. The interior is just as inviting, with its cozy ambiance and friendly staff. While the service was generally great, I couldn’t help but notice a few servers with stony faces that lacked a bit of humor. But hey, no biggie! The menu offers a diverse selection of dishes, but let me tell you about the eggplant parmigiana I savored. It was a culinary masterpiece—fresh, not frozen, and topped with a light, crispy crust. The red sauce was delectable, though it could have used a touch more garlic. What really had my group in stitches was the lack of meatloaf. We had specifically chosen Cobblestones based on rave reviews about their meatloaf, only to be informed that it was sold out before we could even order. It became our running joke for the rest of the night! Despite the meatloaf mishap, I highly recommend Cobblestones. The food is excellent, the atmosphere is inviting, and the service is mostly on point. If you’re looking for a well-rounded dining experience, do yourself a favor and give them a try. You won’t be disappointed!
Always a top choice ... and Cobblestones seems better than ever these days. Terrific selections, in all major categories. Favorite is the pub, but the dining area is elegant, yet relaxed at the same time. What an atmosphere - friends always love it when visiting.
Went here for dinner and the live music event. I got the Faroe Islands Salmon. While the food was great, the service could've been better. The servers seemed stressed and overwhelmed from the event, which should be avoidable with more adequate planning/staffing.
Great service from Shannon and the manager Jessica was so friendly!!! Food was okay- but I think it’s what I ordered for my entree which was the steak frites special everything else was great! Hoping to go back and try something simple like the burger next time. Would recommend this place.
Very relaxing & lowkey atmosphere, food was decent. I was a little surprised at the total of only 4 steak tips The menu could use a few more options. All things considered it was a pleasant experience.
My family and I went there a Sunday night. Wasn't too busy there. Our server, Nina, was very nice, she knew just exactly how to do her job! Food was delicious and the dessert was even better. My kids loved their food and ate their whole plate. Price was about right. I ordered Salmon and it was the best, my husband ordered the fried rice and he loved it too. We will certainly go back there again!
2023: our first visit since COVID and it is a totally different place from before. The menu is taven type food and they have a lovely outdoor patio with umbrellas. I really liked the clam chowder. Chicken marrsala was good. 2019: French onion soup was excellent. Squash tortellini with Walnut with shrimp - very tasty. 2018:Pretty good restaurant in the old building with a lot of character. We have enjoyed all the meals we had here.
Stars didn't align for this visit. Hostess was friendly. Reservation seated immediately for a party of 8. Server was pleasant. The decor had a industrial Victorian charm. Downhill slide from there. Server tried to be attentive but seemed spread thin. Time between water, drink order, appetizer order, food order, and eventual food service was almost 90 minutes. Server had one mode, "creepy smile", regardless of request, comment, or complaint as if suspending disbelief to get through the day. The kitchen must have been in a tailspin. Main dishes were delivered in 3 waves, 1 entre, then 6, then 1, presumably forgotten because it was so late. The Texas Tips, all 2 of them, were served warm and would more appropriately be called the Rhode Island Tips given their size. The KISS local greens salad with grilled chicken was missing.... (dramatic pause)... the chicken, and the chickpeas, but included surprise bonus couscous which wasn't listed on the menu. The highlight would have been the Hot-honey Fried Chicken sandwich had it been hot-honey and the lettuce wasn't wilted like a wet napkin. The fries were ok though. The eggs looked like slop from powder and wouldn't have been served at Army boot camp. Credit to management for eventually paying the table a visit to ensure me the $8 side of four bacon strips with the hair would be taken off the bill. Though complimentary desserts were offered, we weren't ready to risk it. Management did explain the staff was new, including the kitchen was still getting sorted out whom they brought over from the sister restaurant that just went under. What!? That line of thinking may benefit from reevaluation. Give them a try, your mileage may vary.
Stopped in here had a burger it was Good. Not the best ive had but definitely not the worst. The chips are good also. I'll try something different next time
We were very hungry and looking forward to a wonderful meal. We arrived at 4:30 pm We were the only customers there. The waitress told us the dinner crowd will be coming soon. The French onion soup tasted nothing like it. I decided not to have it. My boyfriend did eat the soup only because he was hungry. The homemade fried rice did not even taste like rice. The house salad was soaked in the dressing. I had a few bites because I was very hungry. The brick chick both ordered was sub par in flavor at best, it was supposed to be a half of a chicken and what we both received was a leg and thigh without the breast. It tasted like it boiled at first and then put in the oven to brown it. I had one bite. The waitress asked if we wanted to take our meals home and we declined and she asked why and we told her why. The manager came over and told us she comped the salad and was there something else she could get us. We declined. The waitress apologized she agreed my dish should have been comped. We told her it's not her fault but we would not be going back there. As we walked out there was one person at the bar....
Service was terrible. Took at least five minutes for a host to even come to the front to start with. The manager was too much of a coward to come out and deal with an issue. Clearly the poor management is why the overall service was so terrible. Don't bother making a reservation since they don't guarantee a table with a reservation even after confirming the day before. **** Your response confirms your customer service skills are poor. Instead of a "sob story," a simple apology would have been better. Failing to honor a confirmed reservation because you chose not to move an unauthorized party shows a clear weakness in honoring commitments to reserving guests.
