An absolutely perfect place for a wedding (or any event for that matter). My son recently got married there and I can’t say enough as to how the staff went above and beyond to make it a beautiful day. He and his fiancé live in Brooklyn but wanted to be married at the winery because of its fantastic views and beautiful grounds. They were able to work with him long distance and create the exact experience that he was looking for. The staff was knowledgeable and professional. They were able to help him secure vendors and worked well with all the people involved. Highly recommend this hidden gem on the Tug Hill plateau.
I came here for the first time this week. I had 2 flights and everything was delicious. I got to enjoy my drink outdoors with an amazing view in front of me. You can absolutely taste the quality in all of the wines and spirits that are made here. Taren was very knowledgeable and took very good care of us. She took the time to explain the wines and spirits and how they were made. Also, this place supports and appreciates first responders. Thank you! Overall, I had a great time here and can't wait to return.
If you're in Upstate New York make this a must stop!!! Well worth the trip! Sampling includes wine spirits and brandy! Something for everyone!
We really enjoyed our stay at Tug Hill Vineyards. We visited Tug Hill Vineyards in our RV as a guest of the Harvest Host Program. The venue was very nice with a restaurant and a wine tasting room with an comfortable outside patio. There was a wedding happening the evening that we arrived, and it was fun to watch as a spectator. We tried several flights of their wines and enjoyed a tasty charcuterie board. In the evening we moved our RV from the upper parking area to the U-Pick orchards where we had a spectacular view overlooking the wide valley, and marvelled at the ginormous wind turbines. We had a very peaceful and restful night. and in the morning it was fun to watch the Amish families in their horse drawn buggies heading down the valley roads on their way to Sunday meeting. I wish we could have stayed later to enjoy their Sunday Brunch. A truly wonderful stay.
This place is me and my husband's favorite Sunday Brunch spot so far. If you go on a nice day, you can even see a very nice view from your seat. Their menu is a little different each week. So before you go check their FB! And also we took a wine tasting & food pairing class once, and it was a so fun!
Our family has a tradition of spending Christmas at a cabin in the woods in the area. We found Tug Hill Vineyards on TripAdvisor and saw they offered a special Christmas brunch. We called and reserved a table for 12:30 seating. We could not have been more impressed! The dining area was beautifully decorated for the season. The service we received was excellent. And the FOOD! They offered everything from poached eggs to beef tips. My favorite was the butternut squash ravioli, while my wife loved the special Tug Hill vodka bloody mary. Our son enjoyed the fresh fruit and the fantastic desserts. Everything was prepared with care and tasted delicious. After brunch, the wine cellar was open for tastings. If in the area, this place is certainly more than worth a stop.
Our family went out to do some berry picking and we weren't disappointed. We managed to pick blueberries, red currants, and tart cherries. It was an amazing day and everyone at the vineyard was really friendly. Well be going back regularly (especially when the raspberries are ripe!)
My wife and I shared a delicious meal here- hats off to the chef! I thought the menu was appropriately priced and the waitress made sure to exceed our expectations. The cocktails not only utilized their own brand, but were made uniquely and tasted great.
We found this place when looking for a place to see the eclipse. Unfortunately it was cloudy at totality but the place was great. Had a limited menu for the day. Not overly crowded. The snow recently melted so it was a little muddy.
My husband and I had a great time here! We sat in some Adirondack chairs and had several flights. The view was beautiful and the slushees were to die for! Highly recommend the slushee flight. We also had the pretzel bites which came with a mustard sauce and a cinnamon sauce. The girls working were super nice and attentive. We can’t wait to go back!
This is a very beautiful, peaceful, comfortable dining and tasting vineyard estate. Face to face with the owner. Lunch was very good and the product is divine.
A hidden Gem,so peaceful on this fall day.Clean and spacious. We relaxed and laughed..wines were amazing 😎
I fell in love with their wine last year. Today I had lunch and it was great! I highly recommend their Chicken Chili Soup and Lake Effect wine. 5 stars each!! Great view on a clear day too.
Gorgeous winery with friendly staff. We enjoyed time spent there. My favorite wine was White winter. Many choices and affordable price (flight of 4 wines costs $8).
Beautiful vineyard to sit and enjoy friends and family. Amazing views of the hill. Selections of wine, cider and sports!
Very nice! Has a homey feel to it, great views, and great food! The Sunday brunch was uniquely delicious! The service is excellent!
Great winery that has/is more! They have good wine and liquor! The brunch buffet is great with good food and after your done eating and drinking you can you pick fresh berries.
It was an absolutely fabulous evening Friday night at the winery. The venue, entertainment and the wonderful dinners prepared by Chef Jacob exceeded all other establishments. We could have been sitting at Napa it was so beautiful! Thank you for always exceeding our expectations! Cannot wait to return…Delese Hovey, The Lodge at Headwaters
Will always recommend this place! The Bellers have made it more exceptional than it already was. The views make for fabulous family reunion pictures (and Littles meeting for the first time) and the service was phenomenal. My cousin moved to Fort Drum this year and had already discovered it. Lol The perfect little hidden gym in the middle of dairy country tou can't afford to miss!
Drinking a delicious glass of white 43° Latitude during the full beaver supermoon, while enjoying a warm fire... life is good today!! Cheers🥂
Always a wonderful ❤️ time! Beautiful scenery, delicious food, and spectacular wine.
Best place around for brunch! Their coffee flights and mimosa flights are amazing!
Brunch was amazing. The views are captivating. The wines were absolutely delicious. Highly recommended
We would like to thank the whole staff of the Tug Hill Vineyards. What a wonderful venue to have our rehearsal happy hour. Good drinks, good food and exceptional service. Our bar tender was the best!! What a way to start the wedding weekend. Thank you 🙏🏻
An absolutely breathtaking vineyard. We had a delicious lunch outside overlooking the vineyard. Staff was very friendly.
Lovely vineyard. Yummy wine and a nice charcuterie board with a beautiful view.
Very nice winery and venue for events. We went just to get their famous maple brandy and left with the brandy and some excellent wines.
This place is a great addition to Lewis county. They have flexible tasting hours for if you’re in town and bored on a random Thursday afternoon. Generous tasting pours for cheap. Great Marquette, Frontenac 🤤 A lot of sweet wines for those with a sweet tooth. Their wine down is always a party.
This establishment was amazing. The owners were very friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend going and enjoying the atmosphere and the view. There is also a raspberry patch to pick berries and pay for them. I was told later in the year there will be blueberries , apples , and grapes to pick also. Enjoy your experience there
This is such a beautiful place. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The staff goes out of their way to make your meal and or occasion wonderful. Brunch the next day was spectacular.
It has never disappointed and we make it a point to stop there every time we're in the area! I love their wines, food is always great and the staff friendly 🥰
Beautiful property, great wines, and a decent amount of seating so that you can find a spot to chat with your group. There’s a large selection of wine and spirits to choose from for a tasting. The staff are friendly and helpful.
We just celebrated our daughter's wedding reception at Tug Hill. What a beautiful experience! The food was outstanding and the service was fantastic! We were able to treat our guests to a variety of wines at the table instead of a cash bar. This was our choice and Lana our coordinator at Tug Hill honored our request. The bar was still available for all drinks, but our guests thought this was a unique addition so they could sample the magnificent wine the establishment offered. Lana was so helpful with setting up our simple but elegant table decor. Everything was perfect. I recommend Tug Hill as the place to hold any and all special celebrations! Thank you Tug Hill and especially Lana for our unforgettable memories!
Fantastic restaurant all around. Service was phenomenal, food is to tie for and the wine was top notch. Highly recommend the steak Medaillons and the 43 lat if you’re into semi dry reds! Would eat here again. Great for date nights!
The wine is some of the best I’ve had. And the ladies who work there were phenomenal. The location is beautiful. And the food was delicious . I cannot wait to go back and/or purchase even more online. I am so glad my mother took me to the Remsen barn festival so I could discover this amazing winery in upstate New York. I plan on purchasing many more cases online to be delivered to Kansas as I’m not sure I can wait until my next visit.
Went for Sunday brunch. The scenic views were amazing. The food was very good and the desserts excellent. Food was served by staff buffet style. Mimosa flight was delicious and while the Bloody Mary's were good, they could have been spicer. Staff and their service was excellent. After brunch we went to the tasting room for some samples of the Tug Hill brand wines, liqueurs and moonshine. After purchasing a few bottles we headed towards home doing a little antique shopping along the way. We will definitely make the hour and a half trip again.
Spectacular place! We stayed here as Harvest host guest. The property is gorgeous, amazing variety of flowers and plants. The wine, food and views are better. The owners and staff are so welcoming. The meat and cheese board was delicious, generous portion, and a great value. We happily happened to be here to see and hear Fritz's polka band. Baily was an added bonus, exceptional dog ambassador.
I am saying that I have been to quite a few winery’s but more than likely not enough. It’s on a beautiful property with amazing landscapes. The time alone spent on the view outside are worth the stop. I have to admit I like the taste of wine and know nothing about it. So take this as you will, I had a great conversation with a woman there and did not realize she was a owner. Very friendly and knowledgeable! As for the wine I can tell you I liked everything I tried. Also the recently added Raspberry Lemonade spirits was more than pretty alright! Enjoy!
We’ve been here a couple times since we moved last summer. The new owners have made the winery more of a social experience which has turned out amazing! The Friday night dinner was delicious and for the price one of the best meals we’ve had in the area! Tug hill has become one of our favorite spots to show family and friends! We look forward to seeing all the future changes and can’t recommend this winery enough!
Sunday brunch was well worth it. Fresh, flavorful, service was wonderful. Wine tasting downstairs - everyone was so nice & tastes very good! Purchased. Apple picking was fun. The views were breath taking. Never felt rushed, all around very clean inside & out. Highly recommend to locals & visitors
Scenic area. Holy cow - all of the windmills! I really liked the "White Out" red wine. It's billed as being semi sweet, but tastes more like a stone fruit dry wine. Very enjoyable slightly smokey flavor. First day of wine slashes. The red one was very tasty. The blueberry brandy wasn't nearly as sweet as I thought it might be. Much boozier on the nose than the flavor. I'd recommend it without a doubt.
A beautiful winery with the best wines so far on our New York state trip. The owner is very accommodating with your need when you stay over with your RV thru Harvest Hosts. The staff is great and very helpful They are also very dog friendly
Love Tug Hill! We've been a few times and every time it's fantastic. The food is always delicious, the wines are tasty and their assortment of bar drink are great too. The style/vibe of the place is very cozy and inviting. The prices are a little high, but worth it because you get a lot for what you pay. Check them out!
Another fantastic holiday buffet. Happy Thanksgiving
So much fun! Beautiful tasting room, good variety of wines, and the man at the bar let us taste plenty of wines before deciding what we wanted because we were very indecisive. He was great. They had local honey you can taste and the local charcuterie board for purchase was delicious!!! Definitely recommend even in the dead of winter!
We went for their "Wizard Brunch", it was great! They had a brunch buffet with plenty of sweet and savory options. Scrambled eggs, bacon, spicy shrimp, shepherds pie, an oatmeal bar, fresh fruit, oven poached eggs with hollandaise sauce (my favorite), etc. They had a seasonal drink menu that went with the theme. Everything was hot and fresh.
I always have loved this place and have been coming for many years. However at the mother’s day brunch today I was disappointed with the quality of the food. It was dried out not fresh. The potatoes and vegetables were shriveled and the french toast bake and pesto frittata was just not good. The atmosphere was great as always and I love the downstairs wine tasting. The brunch has been so delicious in the past but it just missed the mark for me this time.
Was buying Lat 43 Red for years from here and it was my favorite wine. Recently ordered a case of the Lat. 43 Red and it's not even close to what it was. Never have I opened a bottle of red wine without the cork being stained red until now. It tastes ok, but it'll be the last time I buy it. I guess all good things do come to an end.
I brought the family for Easter Brunch. THE POSITIVE Very scenic location for the area. They have done a nice job with the dining area. We were seated on the enclosed deck and really enjoyed the surroundings. The host and our waitress were both very friendly, and seemed very genuine. There was a fantastic selection of desserts that were well made and very appealing. THE NEGATIVE The food on the buffet was subpar. We had read great reviews and were looking forward to a the brunch. The quiche was cold, the french toast were soggy, the ham was dried out, the shrimp was so mushy that it almost felt like it had a breading of some sort even though it didn't. The pilaf was mush. There was one little bite of steak at best in the seared steak tortellini. Our waitress, although genuinely friendly, was absent for extended periods. When she did help us, she was very attentive, and nice. The food was very disappointing. At times, there was no one at the buffet to serve us, even though other staff members came and went. CONCLUSION We had high hopes, but were let down by the food. It seemed like nice people there, and great surroundings, so hopefully they tighten up the food service. I don't expect we will visit again for some time.
We went today to brunch for our 1st wedding anniversary. It really wasn’t that great. We spent $126 for 5 people without tip (yes, we left a tip): PROS: As always, beautiful views and well-manicured grounds. Our server was warm and efficient. The staff were pleasant and friendly the entire time. We were sat immediately with our reservation. CONS: It was 91° today. They had the A/C on, but I imagine the unit is not big enough to accommodate the building because it was stifling hot inside. The flies constantly flying around our heads was a nuisance as well. The food was honestly not good. The beef tips were not seasoned and had so much fat on them, the eggs and the frittata looked to be thrown together and they had a look of sitting out too long that they were rubbery, the bacon was greasy, the lime and mango crème brûlée had sat out in the heat and was just nasty lukewarm mushiness. All of it basically tasted like cafeteria food from an army mess hall (and I’ve had better there). This was genuinely a let down and unfortunate.
