Cheddar's is a MUST when in Lubbock, Texas or anywhere for that fact. Lilly (server) is hands down the BESTEST!!!! After a long and way too stressful move from Arizona to Lubbock, Lilly made the end of our day such a delight!! My family and friends will definitely be back.

We had a less than pleasing visit about two years ago and just didn't come back till yesterday. I saw a deal online and thought what the heck, I'll try it again. Everything was great, I had big salad with crispy chicken; my wife had the New Orleans pasta. Both were just very satisfying, and more than we could eat. Also I wanted to point out that the staff were very helpful and fast. On a strange side note, I like that they have thick napkins; I'm not sure why that detail stood out to me, but there it is. We will be back soon!

Family favorite! We love the kid friendly menu items and the wait staff are always friendly. We've never had any issues with this chain and enjoy all the menu items we've tried. Love the chips and queso and the rib/shrimp combo - yummy!

I recently visited Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen and had a pretty solid experience overall. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming — perfect for a casual dinner with friends or family. We started with the Honey Butter Croissants, and wow, those were a hit. Warm, flaky, and just the right amount of sweet. For the main course, I went with the Chicken Tenders Platter — crispy, juicy, and generously portioned. My wife got the Country Fried Steak, which came smothered in gravy and was tender enough to cut with a fork. Service was friendly, the staff was polite and checked in on us regularly. Prices are reasonable, especially considering the portion sizes. You definitely get your money’s worth. Overall, Cheddar's offers comforting, hearty food at a good value. It’s not fine dining, but it nails the “comfort food” vibe perfectly. I'd definitely come back when I'm craving something classic and filling.

We are visiting from out of town and don’t have a Cheddar’s so we walked over to check it out from our hotel. We were greeted and seated promptly! Drinks and food came out quickly! Started with spinach artichoke dip. I had the veggie plate and husband had the chicken fried steak. The best part were the honey butter croissants they brought out!! Great dinner

Nice place, great food. Seated in under 2 minutes. Waitstaff was outstanding. No complaints. Had the bone-in rib eye, baked potato, corn. The only thing I could have asked for was a bread roll, but that'spersonalpreference. Zero complaints because everything was excellent.

I remember the Cheddar’s I went to in Midland. I never reviewed it. Because I didn’t want to say anything bad. This Cheddars in Lubbock is FANTASTIC. I got the best Waitress. She was very attentive. We chatted awhile, and when she brought my Monti Christo to me and I took my very first bite? I felt as though I was in Heaven. It was prepared to perfection. I hadn’t gad one if these Sandwiches in almost 30 years. So it brought back great memories.

The butter croissants are delicious and never disappoint! I just want to make a suggestion that if the recipe could go back to grilled toast bread for the Monte Cristos because the thick fried breading that’s used here on my plate is greasy and not cooked through because of how thick it is! This is my favorite dish at Cheddars but I was not satisfied when I ate this today! I didn’t ask for a redo because I didn’t want to get the same deep fried breading so I just took a lot of it off and I didn’t want to make a big deal or embarrass anyone! The employees were kind and very prompt on checking to see if we needed anything else! Thank you for serving us!

Although the parking lot was nearly full, it did not take long at all for our party of three to be seated. Our server was excellent. Food was fresh and everyone enjoyed the meal.

The food is delish! It was hot and fresh the best Monte cristo I’ve ever had! Our server Allee was fantastic she went above and beyond! We will definitely be back and recommend to all our friends and family!

Our daughters live in Lubbock and we ask them to choose a different restaurant each time we visit. Have always seen Cheddars, but never been. The food was absolutely amazing! The staff extremely friendly and helpful and no wait time when we arrived! I highly recommend!

Wife and I went here for dinner. Place was t too busy and we were sat immediately. Appetizer of cheese fries was fresh and delicious. The shrimp and buffalo wrap were also both delicious. This is a review about an experience over the course of 2 nights. I had such a good experience the first night that I decided to order food here again rather than chance being disappointed somewhere else. I’m staying in a hotel in Lubbock often right now and this will continue to be a stop for me. I can promise you that. First off- it was done early when I went to pick it up. The male waiter who delivered my food was awesome and friendly! He even ran back out to deliver chicken tenders that had missed the bag and he was so considerate and wanted to make sure I got home with all my items. :) What I ordered: • trio sampler (chicken tenders, salsa, spinach dip & chips) • key west chicken with a house salad and broccoli rice casserole Every. Single. Thing. was cooked perfectly and was delicious! I had ranch for my salad, all of my dips and the chicken was delicious! My only minor complaint is I love the sauce that comes on the side of this dish and I didn’t get it in my takeout BUT it was flavored in the rice and on the chicken so maybe at this cheddars they put it in the dish beforehand. I got my complimentary croissant and even napkins and flatware! The second night I really wanted chicken fried chicken, I ordered the single cfc, they sent it out with the gravy on the side and enough gravy for my chicken and mashed potatoes. My sweet peach tea was perfect and so was my salad. It was so good I didn’t get a single photo for the review I knew I was going to write. They nailed the kind of service that you are grateful for after a long visit in a hospital, away from your home, when you still crave good home cooked food. Thank you so much!

The Monte Cristo was pleasantly yummy! Never had one before! So was the broccoli casserole. Service was amazing, our waitress was tentative and well mannered. Unfortunately we didn’t get her name bc we were supposed to be doing take out but apparently forgot to press ADD on one of our meals so ended up eating there to order that meal and eat our Togo while hot! She was the Togo girl!

Still my preferred restaurant for ribs. Surprised when the complimentary croissants were under cooked and even more surprised when they said they were out of them after ours were served, usually they plenty and they are cooked well.

The atmosphere was nice! The wait was not delightful. The hostess told me it will be a 35 minute wait. It ended up to be a 47 minute wait, there was no apology when we called me our table was ready after being seated. I'd recommend getting the coconut shrimp as one of your appetizers. It is so delicious! I also go the Monte Christo, it didn't taste as good as it looks. Basically, you're eating a fried sandwich. But I did enjoy the turkey, cheese, and ham that was in the sandwich. Our waitress was very nice and collaborative! She was able willing to switch out my order!

When a birthday dinner was requested to be at Cheddar's I wasn't overwhelmed with excitement, but I must admit, this particular location is, by far, the best Cheddar's I've visited. Friendly and informed staff, and as you will notice in photos, bites were taken before photos! Topping off the positive, instead of the usual singing and embarrassing display, the manager came and said, without the hoopla, 'I understand there's a birthday being celebrated, just wanted to drop these cookies off and say, your next visit, appetizer is on me.' The birthday recipient was relieved and happy. If you happen to be invited to Cheddar's Lubbock location, go.

The steaks were overcooked. Still tasted very good. Not Rare or MR more like med well. The fish and shrimp were very good. The service was very attentive.

Ordered a Lemon Chicken plate, now Lemon flavor at all, was a peppered chicken patty. Rice was bland bu had some acidic flavor that could not placed. Staff was great, attentive, and overall e penitence was pleasant.

The food was yummy, the potatoes were a little cool. The customer service was great! I'll definitely visit this location again.

Updated 1.3.24- been 5 years since we have visited this restaurant. Much better visit this time. We were seated in the bar area with an awesome server who took great care of us. Gave us plenty of time to eat without being pushy and was knowledgeable about the menu, which was a plus. Food was wonderful, generous portions. Will probably be returning in the future. We visited on a friday night- first mistake- about 6 pm. We waited approx 5 min to be seated. Eythan - was our waiter. Took 10 minutes to come to the table for both drink/food orders. Drinks and salads were delivered promptly. Another waiter delivered the food, i asked then about the cole slaw and got a blank look as they repeated "cole slaw?". Eyrhan came by about 10 min later to ask if everything was OK. Not enthusiastic, I had to ask 3 times to get the coleslaw. My dad also had to ask him 3 times to give him the check...again with a blank stare and he just walked off. Food was good, restaurant was very noisy with lots of kids crying/screaming. This is our family’s go to restaurant. Today we decided to try to Wisconsin cheese bites and they were delicious. We also ordered the blackened salmon with broccoli and cheese casserole and a loaded baked potato, chicken tenders and fries and a ribeye steak with a side of mash. The broccoli casserole was under seasoned but overall everything else tasted good. I also had a presidente sangria which was okay.

Ate here with my fiancé and friends for just a calming night out and get together. This was the second time that I have ever eaten at a Cheddars before but a long time since the last time. The food that we had tasted really good. I had the New Orleans Pasta with a beer and everyone else had either a DIJON Chicken and Mushrooms or Chicken Tenders and Shrimp with a drink called “Pain Killer.” Overall the food, the drinks and the staff was nice. I give this place 4 stars because the bathrooms could be somewhat cleaner than they were at the time. I would definitely recommend Cheddars to anyone that ls looking to go out to a decent restaurant and not have to worry about paying an arm or a leg for good food.

Typical Cheddars but the service was poor. Long wait to get order taken and even longer for the food to arrive.

The food was alright, nothing too major as far as problems. But our server Lana was rushing us through the appetizer and brought out our meal not even 5 minutes after the appetizer. She never refilled our waters and even took my glass and never came back with it. Every time she went to check on us, she would look at my partner, but never acknowledge me. While we were eating, she announced she was leaving to get her kids which I found very unprofessional. As a server, I felt like I did not have the best service that could have been provided.

Due to the pandemic, we have opted into curbside service for our meals instead of dining in. If you have never been to Cheddars, don't let your first time be a carry out experience. Today, our chicken fried steak and chicken fried chicken were served without gravy. I had to make my own gravy at home. Our child's apple juice was brought to the car without a lid (thank goodness we had a sippy to put it in and no moths fell in).The food quality seems so much better when you dine in. I must say, the "adult" beverages were still on point. I do recommend a Painkiller or two. Bottom line: I don't recommend take out. Dine in is better.

I arrived a little after they opened and was seated quickly. The waiter was friendly and checked in on us frequently. The food arrived in good time, I had the chicken tenders dish which was warm at best,it wasn't dry but most certainly not juicy. The broccoli cheese casserole was not hot and crusted over like from a heat lamp. The fries, again just warm. My son's dish looked good and they were out of the bread that's to be served with it and offered him toast. This was my first time eating at a Cheddars and came recommended for the chicken tenders. If I do go back it's not going to be on my dime and it won't be for the chicken tenders. Wish it was a better experience!

Our food took over an hour and we all ordered pasta dishes. The waitress was not personable at all. She said our food would be right out and it was 30 mins later. She said the manager was plating our food and never did they come by.

The first time we dinned at cheddars was great decided to go back on July 21st 2025. This time was horrible. The ribs were so dry, the steak was tough and the chicken fry tasted horrible. Took forever to get our food and than the waitress rushed us. Won't be going back anytime soon.

I ordered online, I got chips and queso with extra chips, a caesar pasta salad and a Fish & Shrimp platter with mashed potatoes and red beans. I got home and the chips were super salty we didn’t even end up eating them they were so bad. The queso was filled less than half way not even enough for half of the chips. The croissants were really good but they barely had any of the honey butter on it. As well as the salad barely had any pasta and the croutons were super soggy. My boyfriend enjoyed the Fish & Shrimp! Just upset I’ve been craving Cheddars for a while now just for it not to be how I remember.

This place is more concerned with making sure that you leave a tip, rather than food and service quality. Even when I order my food through the app, they remind you about that tip, at least 3 times. What is the tip for, when i order online and drive to pick it up myself? Putting it in the bag, deserves a tip. Food it's okay but Cooton Patch and Cracker Barrel are better.

When we walked in the hostess was rude to a family of three and a child she told them the wait was 35 minutes the lady stated she has just called and was told there wasn't a wait. There were plenty of open tables. They sat us next to the kitchen it had a horrible smell in the restaurant the restaurant was filthy I had to ask to get our booth wiped because there was some sort of sauce on the seat. We received the wrong order then had to sit and wait to get our meal made according to what we ordered. The waitress Debra never came around to check on us my meal was extremely salty I couldn't even eat it. The manager Becca was NO help to our concerns she was sitting in the office according to the waitress and took her time coming to talk to us about our concerns. There were no apologies for our bad experience nor did the manager Becca come back to see if the issues were corrected! The menu is smaller than prior to covid. The only thing good was the butter croissants and the side salad.

I was in Lubbock on a business trip and decided I would do a curbside order. We have several Cheddars in Dallas and I've never had any issues. Picked up my food and was told they ran out of plastic ware. The server went in and "asked the manager" and returned saying they didn't have any plastic ware. No offer of any solution. I was sent away to eat with my fingers. Got to my hotel and the honey glazed carrots were overcooked and literally had to be the bottom of the bag. They were teeny tiny and shriveled from being overcooked.

I debated posting this because I like cheddars but I ordered delivery cause my car is at the dealer for repairs, my steak was supposed to be medium rare and it was all the way well. So tough I just gave it to my dog. Depending what you order the food is getting suckier. For a food steak roadhouse is $5 more but worth it.

Upon arrival, there was one other couple waiting at the hostess stand. The hostess was nowhere to be seen. After about 5 minutes, she showed up and seated the first couple and then us. Service was on the slow side, and the food was so-so (not at the same level as we remember). Cheddar's has gone downhill.

We use to love this location. We stopped coming years ago after 2 separate instances of food poisoning and undercooked food. Today we decided to give it another try hoping things had improved. To our disappointment the food was still undercooked. Unbelievable. It’s like they’re just BARELY bringing the food to a safe temp or they stop cooking it before it reaches temp hoping it will reach temp as it rest. I don’t know. But my medium well steak was rare. The spinach dip was tough and room temp (undercooked) the chicken fried steak was barely golden brown and pink inside and soft/mushy batter, my sisters grilled chicken wasn’t pink, but still slimey, just above done. The staff was friendly and our meal was comped. But we will never return the kitchen needs to be assessed properly

Went there yesterday croissants were amazing can't say the same about my food my son's burger was burned an my step dad steak was also burnt had it redone an they didn't cook it right the second time either blood still all over he's plate mixing with he's corn , my shrimp was served to me uncooked I got food poisoning from that thankfully I only ate like 2 of them. Just a fair warning did not have a good meal at all be careful with feeding your kids from here an make sure everything is cooked right

Im just going to say...... if your menu says it has crispy beer battered fish, it better damn well be beer battered fish. This was horrible. Under cooked. Lost my appetite. Thanks.

Got Cheddar's for dinner tonight, didnt realise they were using food additives to up my iron intake. Not only did we have to wait 40 minutes for our food on a to go order but it came with a metal clasp of some sort. Thanks for making this whole night, a night of a subpar quality dining experience extra bad.

I don't know that we will ever go back after our visit on 6/1. We went around 6 pm on a Sunday. Not busy, and the service we had was quick. I have few complaints about our server. The only one is that we asked for to-go boxes and they weren't brought. We ended up leaving our food on the table, which honestly we should have done to begin with without asking for boxes (we're so practical we hate to leave nearly full plates behind, even if the food quality is terrible). I remember when cheddar's used to be good quality food. Our food was awful. My chicken tenders and fries tasted old and overcooked. I couldn't put my finger on the weird aftertaste I had in my mouth, and after sampling my husband's Monte Cristo (which is fried), I discovered the same aftertaste so it had to have been old/unclean oil. The broccoli cheese casserole, normally a favorite of mine here, was dry, chewy, tasteless, barely warm, and disgusting. Do yall not believe in cutting up the broccoli anymore? Whole florets essentially! My husband's sandwich was clearly overcooked and nearly burnt. Our spinach dip was also barely warm and not worth nearly $9. We should have disputed it, as nearly $40 for a meal like this was overpriced and not worth it for the quality. Now I understand why they weren't busy. I could have had a better dinner at Sonic for cheaper. I mean, we all know yall utilize a microwave anyway. Microwave stuff adequately at the very least. The "scratch kitchen" is an insult to any restaurant truly doing things "from scratch".

The food was just ok, but The service was NOT! My server never brought us our free croissants and this is one of my favorites. She also left our drinks empty for long periods at a time. I had to get her attention each time. A larger group came in and she attended to them and pretty much forgot about our table. Not sure if I will be going back……

Went to go have lunch with family and it was nasty. I ordered the chicken pot pie with house salad. It tasted like oil oil and had way too many peas. I mean there were 3/4 of the pie full of peas. There were 4 chunks of chicken if that. The salad was decent. Probably won't be eating here for a long time.

Unfortunately the burger we ordered was undercooked and my husband had a pretty bad night afterwards. The waiter and the staff were quick to try to resolve the issue and ended up taking off the bill. Was disappointed very much so by the food this time around but impressed by the management and the staffs willingness to make it right which was very much appreciated. All in all getting sick by food still isn’t something to play around with. This made us sad. Used to be one of our favorite places

my burger was cold it was was not even warm. it wasn’t even busy for me to understand. they were also very rude.my fries cold to. mcdonald’s would have been better.

I wish I had a better experience, but this place has been consistently disappointing for the past few months. Each time we come, the hostess seems to look as if we are inconveniencing them with a simple table for 2. We had the same server for 2 of the last 3 times and she was awful and inattentive. Tonight was awful. The hostess didn’t acknowledge us and was more concerned talking with other employees. I understand that Fridays are obviously busy but everything was extremely slow. Then after 30 minutes, my dish is missing a side while my husband’s looks absolutely disgusting. The waiter told us it was because they had to make their own gravy and it was burned beyond all recognition. So we sent it back and had to wait another 20 for fresh food. My chicken was overcooked, greasy and just unappetizing. My husband’s meatloaf was burned and his broccoli cheddar casserole was cold. To remedy the situation, our waiter offered us desserts. Please do better. I traditionally love coming here but this is unacceptable.

This place was horrible from the moment we got seated, felt rushed by our waitress the chicken fried steak had hair my husband’s sirloin steak that he asked to be well done still had blood so they took back and was brought back burnt on one side. Horrible will not be returning to this place again. 😡

We went into the Lubbock location, there were some people that got seated before us and as we got seated, those people had already had a waitress come by and get their drinks and appetizers. And we waited about 20 minutes without even a waitress coming by.

We visited the restaurant today and decided to take our food to go because it was very cold inside. When we got home and started eating, we discovered that the chicken was raw. The side we ordered also looked like they had run out and tried to quickly put something together. Overall, we were extremely disappointed with our meal. This experience was unacceptable, and the quality needs to be much better.

We've eaten at the cheddar's location many times and unfortunately, we've never gotten a steak that was cooked properly. My wife and I ate there last night. We ordered one meal to share - steak and ribs. The server brought the mean to our table and there was only a steak, no ribs. When we told her where's the ribs she said oh that's right You ordered ribs too. We ordered the steak medium rare, when we cut into the steak it was rare totally raw in the middle. So they offer to cook another steak, when they brought that to the table it was even more rare than the first. Then they brought another steak which again was more rare than the first and the second. Also the cook or whomever brought the steak out was very rude and said he was colored blind so he couldn't tell if the steak was rare or not. We wound up just eating the ribs and the baked potato and leaving the steak on the table. They did comp our meal but that wasn't what we were shooting for. We were shooting for a meal that we ordered. Not sure if I'll ever order a steak there again. Seems I don't know how to cook it.
