Authentic Mexican food, we have fajitas and carne asada with one sope!!! We was that hungry that we forgot to take the picture but you can tell we love !!! The guava drink 20 of 10
Stopped in after driving by for years. Food was really good. Started with the home made guacamole and it was amazing. Had a Al pastor taco and ground beef enchilada and my buddy had a great burrito. The food was great and the service was fast and attentive.
Really nice family-run restaurant. Had the Pork & Cactus, which was amazing. It wasn’t spicy, or even hot, it was flavorful. The pork was fall-apart tender and had some char on the edges. The cactus mixture was the perfect partner. Also, the flan is homemade and firm. Both dishes are some of the best I’ve had anywhere in the country.
First time here and will definitely return. If you are a fan of taquitos the lobster taquitos are a must try. I also had the lobster burrito and the fried ice cream both were very good. The "breading" on the ice cream reminded me of corn flakes. Went very well with it and gave it a nice crunch.
Authentic Mexican food. Very delicious! Got the Carne Asada plate and it was delicious.
Came off the Devil's Postpile trails and was fiending for some good grub. I was traveling with my pup so doggo friendly was very important! Pulled up to the spot, checked in, and immediately got served. The nice server offered the pup a bowl of water, took our orders, and off we were. No complaints!
We really enjoyed this little family restaurant it was delicious! We were served very delicious and fresh food. Will have to visit again next time we come to Mammoth!
One of my favorite Mexican restaurants anywhere. I've had several different items, all excellent, and always friendly service. Their carnitas is great, hint of orange flavor. Chimichanga is also a stand out. The picture is a three item combo; carnitas taco, chile relleno, and cheese enchilada. Really hard to beat that but like I said, everything I've tried here is really good. Order your food with queso fresco.
Friendly staff, quick service, and very good tamales. Chicken tamale with green sauce was super delicious.
We had the chimichanga special. It was more food than we could eat and was very good. Server was very nice.
Very good and tasty food. Not as standard as it could have been. I took that to go and it was no problem. Prices are ok and got some free Nachos to go. I would defintely come back if I had the oppertunity to do so. Friendly and polite staff. Thank you!

We thought everything was delicious!! We both got Chicken fajitas, big portions with All the fixings and the chips and salsa were one of the best we’ve had!! Crunchy ! 😋
Quaint hole in the wall eatery, family ran and great customer service! I think our server name was cilita? She was awesome when a mistake was made on our order, corrected it quickly and even offer desert on the house. 5 stars definitely ⛤⛤⛤⛤⛤
We came to The Loco Frijole with ravenous appetites after backpacking in the Sierras. This place hit the spot! Generous portions of incredible traditional Mexican food. The molcajete was one of the best I've ever had. Spicy, high-quality meats in a delicious stew!
My favorite place to eat in mammoth. They make cactus just like grandma. Try the stone bowl for a big meal. Reminds me of eating at my grandma's house. Very rustic decor with mom and pop in the kitchen making tasty meals. Family run restaurant
Best Mexican food in Mammoth Lakes. Conveniently located off of main St near all the shopping. I ordered the traditional asada tacos and they were fantastic. The staff is super friendly, and everything is homemade. Very authentic menu, to include lengua, menudo, and birria. Great prices too. Definitely stop by if you're in town.
Tuesday tacos were hella good. Owner was super nice. Everything my buddies ordered were on point. If you want Mexican food while in mammoth. This is a must go. Trust me I was very surprised at the flavor and quality. Def going back again.
I really like this place my first time coming here and I like it very much. The chips and salsa very yummy. And the food is very good. With 4 guest it would be under $100. The girl had great customer service.
I'm very, very impressed. The food was wonderful, great atmosphere and great service! Everything was clean, and our server made sure we were happy. Love that it is a little family shop, and was just very impressed. Best veggie burrito i've had in years!
Great experience. They accommodated seating outside with a heat lamp for our family of 5 passing through town. The food was delicious, and servings large. The service was pleasant, it's a great family owned place. Will definitely return when we come back.
So good. Tried not to overeat so got soup and salad since I had a burrito the night before. I got the chicken soup which was packed with juicy chicken. Really, most of the bowl was chicken. Oh and flavor. Such great flavor. The salad was very good. It was a grilled chicken salad. So I treated myself and had the deep fried plantains for dessert. Wow those were awesome. Had a chocolate sauce and whipped cream. There was also a cream sauce made with sweetened condensed milk which since there was a little bit extra, I put in my coffee. Absolutely delicious.
This is where the REAL Mexican food is at in Mammoth. Their pazole was AMAZING! Best rice & beans too. Delicious salsa and chips too! 10/10
The food is outstanding authentic Mexican food. Great service huge portions incredible flavor. I've been coming to mammoth for years for work and have eaten at all kinds of places this is by far the best restaurant I have eaten at in mammoth. This is it can't wait to come back again.
Our food was so delicious! My husband ordered a burrito that made him so happy he almost started crying...literally (we did hike a bit today so we were very hungry, and it was a super delicious burrito). Also, our server was awesome.
Literally can't say enough about the caliber of food served here or just how wonderful the people who run the place are. I lived next door for a short period and regularly came in on consecutive days. The vegetarian burrito is honest to God one of the absolute best that I've ever had. Undeniably the greatest Mexican restaurant in the area and possibly even the world.
Excellent Mexican food, huge serving sizes, so be prepared. My boyfriend had the mole poblano and was quite happy with it. The red sauce on my cheese enchilada had an unexpected depth of flavor beyond just being spicy. Highly recommended.
We're from San Diego so we've had our fair share of Mexico food. Both of our meals were excellent (taco combo and veggie burrito). Fresh tasty food ingredients; the tomatillo sauce was especially good. Great friendly service as well.
An incredibly hardworking family and staff churn out delicious, authentic, and FRESH Mexican dishes in a fun, colorful, Frida Cahlo-adorned dining room. Everything is homemade, even the chips (solid with house salsa and divine with chunky guac prepared to order). I had to stop myself from demolishing my entire combo plate of chile relleno, lengua (tender beef tongue) and al pastor tacos. Can't wait to come back to Mammoth for the skiing and this restaurant!
Delicious Mexican food in Mammoth. There were complimentary warm chips and salsa of course. The guac was great and the tacos were fantastic. They even gave us a free bowl of yummy grapes at the end of our meal, which was a nice surprise.
Delicious chili relleno and chicken taco. The kids that were working were pleasant and attentive. We make a trip to Mammoth at least once a year and we'll be back to this little gem of a restaurant.
Order to go, 3 items for 3 people, so heavy! The food is amazing! Taco salad with beef, beef burrito (enough for 2!) And combo of tamal & chille relleno. We were given the best chips & salsa while waiting. Very quick service. We have probably enough for 2 more meals, or 1 after a long hike. Super flavorful...best we have had in a long time.
Yummy! Perfect after a long bike ride. I had the Taco Salad with chicken in the crunchy bowl thingy. Just the right amount of food for an "afternoon late lunch." Family owned, and run. Nice ppl.
We wanted good Mexican food while staying in Mammoth. Boy, did we find it! I enjoyed the beef nachos (big enough for 1 dinner and 2 lunches!) Best nachos that I've had in years! My dining partner enjoyed a chicken enchilada dinner with rice and refried beans. All was excellent! Service was very attentive! We really enjoyed our meals. We'll definitely be back! Happy to support a small local business. BTW...the name of the place changed...not Loco Frijole, but you won't be disappointed...Enjoy!
Yanet & her team are incredible!! We catered our wedding celebration with the Loco Frijole, and every one of our guests was so impressed with the delicious food. We opted for buffet style tacos, enchiladas, and rice and beans. Chips and salsa were also top notch. My wife and I eat here every time we are in Mammoth, and it was no mistake to have them cater our celebration. I would HIGHLY recommend the Loco Frijole as either as a sit down restaurant, or for catering/take-out for any family celebration in Mammoth.
I belive the name has changed. Got there at closing hour so maybe limited staff. Ordered everything on the menu, possibly one cook busted it all out . Food good service was slow but expected when you order everything.
Nice family owned restaurant. Wonderful customer service and delicious food. We usually stay near the village but walk down to this spot every time! Generous portions (their burritos are HUGE!) and fresh made delicious Mexican food. Fresh chips and salsa alone are worth the visit here! Vegetarian and pescatarian options available! :)
James was the best part of the restaurant experience. He was so friendly and accommodating. I wish all servers were like James. The food was also amazing with generous portions.
Low key spot in Mam. Very good authentic food. GREAT chips and guacamole is fire! We usually split the mexican mojalcajete. It's spicy and perfect. I love that this place is not usually overcrowded like all other other spots here. There is nothing fancy about the ambiance. But it's consistent and delicious.
This is a ma & pa restaurant. We had seven people in our party and each of us ordered a different thing. Not one complaint everyone praised the food. One comment that was made "you can taste the love in the cooking". Most excellent we will be back.
Been coming to Mammoth for 33 years and we usually eat at Roberto's. Decided to try this place on the way back down from Lake Mary after a day of fishing. No frills here but the food is fantastic! We had Chile Verde, chicken tacos, asada tacos, shrimp tacos, pesole and friend ice cream .Everything was perfect and the prices are the best in town for great Mexican food. We definitely come back again to this family owned restaurant.
This place surprised me. I haven't had a taco el pastor like that since I left Mexico. The tamales were very moist and flavorful. For it being a quick stop to eat for me I will be looking forward to our next stop here.
Authentic and delicious! We ordered the chunky guacamole, cheese and chile green tamale, a pork tamale and the mojecete. Yum ! So much food we had a whole extra meal as leftovers! Free chips and salsa roja. Nice people serving good food on the eve of Christmas Eve. Thank you for the great meal . Please give this small business a break with all the reviews about the service . restaurants are currently understaffed due to the post C-19 virus. The food is delicious and worth the wait, so try to be patient. We witnessed a party of 16 who totally dined and ditched out without tipping. They were so tacky and rude to the staff and everyone here who saw the disgrace was sorry for the restaurant workers who had to deal with them. Don’t be cheap! Tip your waitress !
In town for a few days, cooking meals in our cabin. Long day at Yosemite, dying for some great Mexican food. Not disappointed! Mexican music, fresh tortillas in the air, and Frida on the wall. I had a combo that was outstanding, hubs had mixed fajitas-- huge serving piles with beautiful peppers and onions. Nice friendly service. Will definitely return!
So scrumptious, authentic. Staff is kind and quick, feels like eating a tasty meal at someone’s home in the best way. People giving 1 star reviews are clearly miserable.

Had the shrimp burrito, understaffed the day I was there but the server did her best to deal with all of the big parties coming in for that dinner rish. Food was OK, but not best mexican iv had in Mammoth Lakes
Got a shrimp burrito & carne asada burrito take out. The shrimp burrito was tasty with green sauce. There was lots of shrimp and the onions & peppers still had crunch. Hubby thought the carne asada burrito was only OK. While there was lots of meat, he didn't like the taste because it didn't seem grilled and spiced. Would try again when in town.
Solid American-style Mexican food - good but nothing too special. Generous portions, but a bit bland for my taste. The mojito was nice and I loved the clay jar it was served in. Good service - we had a miscommunication with our waitress when ordering, but she courteously made it up to us, so we were happy.
Food and service was great. Would recommend a visit for food. But I have suggestions about the outside eating area. The restaurant inside is just okay but they should get rid of all the unsightly storage on the way to the bathroom. They have what could be a nice patio on the side but it needs work. It's used for storage full of old ugly, dirty tables and stored garden tools and lumber. All the Chairs and tables outside i suspect were sourced at the local trash dump. Too bad The patio has a nice view.
Food is good here. I got 1 chicken Enchilada plate with beans and rice. They have some pretty good beans and rice here. The fajitas were good and the asada fries were ok. Meat was a little dry. I didnt give 5 stars because it wasn't that clean. Menus were pretty dirty. Micheladas needed more beer so make sure to order an extra beer on the side, but they were very tasty!
I go to Mammouth every year, and never eaten here before. Was looking for Mexican inexpensive meals for 4 of us. Ordered 2 beef chimichangas and 2 chicken tortillas. Both came with refried beans and Spanish rice. The food was outstanding but service, was just ok. Would I eat here again? Maybe dine-in would be a better option and next time I will try that.
Food was excellent, waitress had a bad attitude from the moment we walked in the door. She seemed very inconvenienced and when she brought out the wrong order, she blamed my wife for it. However, someone in charge happened to be walking by and problem was fixed. It's a great little restaurant with authentic Mexican food.
Good food and reasonable prices. The shrimp tacos and burritos are tasty. The seating is limited so plan ahead if you have a big party. The only minus was the service was slow and our dinner took awhile.
Best salsa I have ever had at a restaurant. Good, friendly service. Meals are very large - you will leave full. This is a hole-in-the-wall, family run, restaurant so don't expect a high end ambiance.
What great find. Small place, very good food and service. I was there around 1:30, so lunch crowd gone, if there was one. Outdoor seating was minimal but sat one of the tables. Started to rain but was protected enough to stay outside. Recommend!
Good Mexican cuisine with nice and hot salsa The chicken enchilada with green sauce is excellent as is the carnitas tacos.
Well, I didn’t eat there. So I don’t know anything about the food. I just stopped by because I was staying in a little cabin nearby and wanted a cup of coffee. They had coffee, guessing from the morning and it was 3pm, coffee in pot was cold. And they pored it in a cup and then microwaved it. Then charged me almost $4 🤣 … so if that says anything about how they do things, idk what it says about their food.
I'd come back here again. The salsa and chips were really good. The wings were bomb!! I had to order another to go. My bf got the chicken wet burrito but he didn't care for it. He said the chicken was bland and tasteless. I got the chili verde con puerco, it was okay. Service was good.
We tried couple of dishes and it was decent. Quantity is very good and taste was decent 👍🏻

Came here for the first time, wanting to try all the different Mexican joints in town! I gotta say, wasn’t super impressed when we walked in. The place was empty and had a very strong smell, almost like bathroom cleaner or something. It doesn’t give off the most clean vibe. But that didn’t deter us! Our sever was was nice and attentive. The food was average. I ordered the nachos as my meal and asked if they could sub the cheddar cheese for their queso (cause who wouldn’t) and our sever said they could. Super stoked about that, but when the nachos came, there was for sure just plain old cheddar cheese on them. I felt like they thought I wouldn’t notice the difference. I ate them anyways though. The place is nothing to write home about but you will get what you expect, an average experience.
The fajitas did not come out on a steaming hot platter.
Food was just okay. Ordered carne asada steak and it was incredibly salty, and I love salty food so yea, too salty. My husband ordered the Shrimp Diablo and it was also just ok. Maybe we ordered the wrong food choices.
Food was good but we didn't even get to order for about an hour after we got seated. We asked for a few more minutes to look at the menu because they initially gave us about 2 minutes. They came back over an hour later. People ordered, got their food and paid their bill before we got to order. Margaritas taste good but they only use 24% alcohol. Food was good. So if you have 2 hours to kill and wait for some pretty good food, go here
My wife and I had the carnita burrito which was delicious and a beer. The serving was very generous we could have easily split the entree. The service was good the wait was reasonable. The tortilla chips seemed a bit stale. Salsa was tasty. The overall appearance of the restaurant is cluttered and the chairs could use some repair. According to my wife the woman's bathroom could use some repair. The price was fair.
I live in SF, so the prices are pretty high. This place serves tacos $6-8/each. It is not bad, it is just not exciting in any way. 5 tacos and 2 beers were $42 (happy hour). We left $50 there. It is just food. Nothing bad about it. The service was fast
Came for lunch on a Saturday after skiing. Place had a few filled tables but was pretty quiet. Ordered. 45 minutes passed with no food. Asked what was going on, told that there was only one chef and a lot of big tables (which there weren't). When people who showed up after us got their food, we left. Why two stars instead of one? The chips were good.

My cousin and I ordered two carne asada burritos. I asked for red salsa and any type of chiles. 45 minutes later we got our order. We drove away thinking we had everything. My burrito was extremely dry, the frijoles seemed as if they were from a can. And to top it off, no salsa. Truly a bad experience.
Plate is more than enought, good size. My experience was not the best. I had a beef taco and chicken tamal there was no cheese, both chicken and beef didnt have any taste. It would be ok if the price was equivalent
My family was looking forward to trying a New Mexican restaurant, but as soon as the food came we regretted it. The ground beef on the nachos was extremely dry and the beans were a strange paste, not like any refried beans I’ve had, other than in a can. The Asada fries had a grey chewy meat that didn’t even taste like beef, let alone Asada. The taquitos had chewy dry shredded beef, and the “ mole” was a disaster. The mole had dry shredded chicken with sauce thrown on top. The chips and salsa were the best things there. I love to support family owned businesses and I was hesitant to write this review, but the food was terrible .
I can’t comment on the food, because we never got any. We spent about 45 minutes calling to place a take out order. The phone was constantly busy. We thought perhaps they had a problem with their phone so we drove over to place our order. When we went inside the woman behind the counter said they had taken their phone off the hook because they were busy. I noticed a hand drawn sign saying they don’t accept credit cards. I said we searched online and it said they did. She said they do, but their machine broke in April, FOUR MONTHS ago! It’s still not fixed??? She then said they weren’t doing take out right now anyway. Again, not what it says online. What a waste of time.
Food was mediocre or below, nothing seemed fresh, had the chicken mole, may have been canned chicken, but it was boiled chicken (flavorless) with canned mole sauce. The restaurant is not very sanitary, the chip basket brought to us had remnants of salsa on it that were god knows how old. They have a few interesting choices like goat (chivas) but I think I'd trust the food at taco bell more than I would here. On a positive note... The salsa was excellent! The servers were attentative
Only reason it gets 2 stars is because food was not terrible. Overpriced and service SUCKED! I have never had so much poor customer service anywhere in the world like I have in mammoth. For the price we pay to eat up here, you think there would be better service. Waitress did not even pour our water, brought glasses and a pitcher, dropped on table and walked away. Everything took forever.
Horrible experience. The tortillas were bad (tasted sour). The meat on the molcajete was not fresh at all and the chicken soup was cold. We paid and left without eating. The waitress even apologized and discounted the chicken soup. Very disappointing.

Waitress tried to add a beer to our bill...After checking out reviews we decided to walk over to this place friday night. Seating was quick, we ordered quickly as well, but the food took for ever to arrive. Food was ok to say the least but the cherry on top was when we got the bill. Looks like I had magically ordered a "mexican beer", when I called the waitress over to tellher about the mistake, I didn't even have to say anything, she automaticaly said "Oh I added a beer huh?", that's when I knew it wasn't an innocent mistake, wonder how trashed she thought we were that we wouldn't notice. I'm sure she gets a way with this all the time. Horrible experience, I Do NOT recommend this place.
Bad service, the waiter, very bad attitude, not helpful at all. The extremely spicy seafood molcajete cannot be eaten, it made you sick. Shrimp ceviche toast smelled bad, the seafood returned it
The food here was basic, if that. I paid over $30 for 2 tacos and 2 ceviche tostadas. WAY TOO OVERPRICED! The tacos were $6 each and I was expecting a fat taco but they were sorry tacos that you can get at a taco truck in LA for $2... Man do I miss LA!!
Should have gone to the Liberty Sports Bar. We tried Loco Frijole as it was one of the only places open on a Monday. I could eat my food but Del Taco would have been better but others with me did not finish their food as they did not like it. But the real issue is the staff. I am assuming the owners left the restaurant in the care of a bunch of kids who had no situational awareness and were more interested in eating their dinner and watching football. We did not get us utensils until asked, served soup without a spoon and then had to ask for that, I would have ordered more beer but no one asked nor inquired if we wanted anything else and then just delivered the check. The concensus was that we should have gone to the LIberty Bar.
Food tasted as if there was soap in it and meat had to have been boild. Was the same for everyone in the party. Burritos, enchiladas, fajita plates. Was a mistake giving this place a try ended up throwing away my extra burrito I purchased for the drive back to southern California.
Where to start... I had a strange dining experience to say the least. I think I paid $20 for 2 (small) tacos and a drink. Paid an extra $1 for using a debit card. The portion vs dollar value is about half that of Salsa's Taqueria, and the quality is a bit worse. The food wasn't terrible, but it wasn't "good" either. I got some nasty looks asking for sauce. And there was an employee having a very loud & swear filled conversation complaining about a b* at her 2nd job. Completely unavoidable awkwardness, very unprofessional while paying fine dining prices.
Was so gross. They tried to charge us $24 for a tip and taxed us on the tip as well. Legally there is no obligation to tip any restaurant or business. Food was disgusting, margarita doesn’t even have real tequila and tasted like vile, my horchata had something gross chunky in it and service was not friendly they looked like they hated their lives.
Very bad food. There was hair in the salsa and burrito and asked to get new ones and never got them. Server was very rude to our elderly, actually extremely rude. They charged us 18% tip just for connecting tables and it was separate accounts with no more than 6 people on each account ordering. We even asked if we hadn’t connected tables would they have charged us and they said the wouldn’t. They want to over charge for everything. Beers, soda, food was wayyyy over priced and water tasted like sink water and the lemon they put on it was dry and had no juice. Chips were stale, very stale. In conclusion I RECOMMEND NEVER EATING HERE. TRUST ME.
Staying close by,food looked good. The service was horrible. The lady up front was overwhelmed with customers. She didn’t know if she should clean or take orders. 45 min wait. Only takes cash or Zelle. Last minute my lady added chips and salsa. Was a lot more than expected $20 didn’t have enough cash. So I had to ask if they could remove it. Man at the register said I couldn’t take it off because it’s been made. ??????? Anyhow I couldn’t pay didn’t take the chips and was told to not come back. Lol
Found a shard of glass in our food, told the staff and they told us that it’s ok because it was just plastic. It’s not ok, it was sharp and we could have seriously been hurt if we had bitten down on it. No refund or apology was offered, I refused to pay for the meal and only after that did they refund ONLY the affected meal. Horrible service, they even had the nerve to ask if we wanted to buy something different to replace it. I don’t leave reviews often but for your safety, DO NOT EAT HERE.
Rudest people i have ever come across at a restaurant. Waited 45 mins for food, no one came to ask for even water. We had to personally go and ask for everything. The chicken was dry and tasteless. Veggies were slightly burned.
I'm so sorry to write this review. I am a food lover, and I understand how hard it must be to get good Mexican ingredients over in Mammoth. Honestly, the food that my brother and I order has to be one of the worst. It was a simple chicken quesadilla and a beef burrito. Chicken and beef were tasteless, and cheese smelled really bad. Burrito was mostly rice, hot sauce tasted old and about to go bad. I mean, I couldn't eat more than 2 bites, i went hungry to my hotel. Everything is all over the place, no smiles greeting you. Plus, in winter, if you advertise as pet friendly, you should have a space for pets. I wish you the best but can't have someone else go through my horrid experience.
We had high hopes, but this was pretty awful. The red sauce was fermented and the cheese had gone bad. Beans were burnt and the rice was mushy and not good. This was unfortunately one of the worst meals we’ve ever had. I would give the atmosphere a higher score if it wasn’t for the fact that there was no heat in the joint. The nice girls working there provided good service, but that’s the only positive I could give this place.
Pretty awful experience - prices are HIGH (almost $20 for a burrito!), service is incredibly SLOW and inattentive, and food was barely mediocre at best. They also take cash, Venmo, or Zelle only. Restaurant seems understaffed, poorly managed, and as another reviewer noted, staff let's their personal dog run loose inside the restaurant. I've read the owner's responses to negative reviews on Yelp and Google claiming they no longer operate from that location...but I find it odd that the restaurant name, menu, and even staff (including someone who looks like the owner or management) are the same?
I don’t normally write bad reviews, but this by far was the worst food we’ve ever had. My kids and myself are never picky when it comes to Mexican food. But all I could compare this to was horrible cafeteria food. The food had no flavor. My kids had a bean and cheese burrito and after 2 bites they were over it. I had a taco de lengua and birria taco and after 2 bites i was over it too. I hate throwing away food but that had to go in the garbage. Customer service wasn’t great either I asked for a michelada 3 times and he never brought it out, we were about to leave when he said oh ya your beer . I told him I no longer wanted it. Also while trying to add some salt and lime to our food to give it some taste. I asked the guy can I please get limes and after a few times of asking he brought them.
Top worst dining out experience. Only two other tables had patrons - so not at all busy. Something very off about them supposedly being under new ownership per the "previous owner's" response below, yet ext signage is "Lopez's The Loco Frijole," and my Venmo receipt shows I paid a "Calletano Lopez. No exterior notice that their system is down & aren't taking debit cards (notice on tables only to pay with cash, Venmo or Zelle). When I first got in, the table over from me said food good, but 1.5 hrs to get. TRUE! Only 2 servers, one there for a week and so nervous couldn't remember anything. Orders incorrect at the other tables . Food ok, BUT NOT REMOTELY NEAR QUALITY or portion size to Roberto's in town (they were closed, thus the try at TLF); best part was salsa with warm chips. Then time to pay: Zelle - wouldn't go through (name on table pay-list to use was OLD owner! SUPPOSED NEW OWNER comes out, says use HER PERSONAL name- still won't work, so she starts with the exasperated sighs and huffs, then walks away - no consideration shown in spite of how screwed up her service and wait times were... So...I download Venmo and get them paid (over 20% tip to server in spite of issues...), nevertheless, treated poorly by (new?) owner who's venue is a mess, and who, btw, lets her Chihuahua roam the place, including the kitchen! I could have put down the cash I had, said i'd atm bal, bring in the remainder - but then jolt them instead - well, that's NOT who I am - so i went through whatever it took to pay them and to tip not just min, but over 20%. Dear Ms New Owner-E Lopez - think about that as tourist season comes into full-swing & you start getting jilted or the health & safety board comes in and sees your dog in the kitchen! Check your attitude!
When I went to this restaurant, I expected real food that was properly seasoned. Now this restaurant not only did not have any seasoning whatsoever, it failed to check the box of real food. The queso was just melted cheese sticks and the chips were burned fully. Our waiter came to us and asked how was our food, we could not tell because our food had not come yet. I left a rating of one star because I could not leave a rating of negative 1. If you like flavor do not go to this place.
I quite frankly had high hopes for this restaurant since you can never go wrong with good Mexican cuisine, but this was the opposite of what Mexican culture stands for. The staff had a kind of moody attitude as if she was bothered to get clients into the restaurant. Secondly, every time we asked to get sauce, eating utensils, and even with our own order they took about 30min. Lastly, they charged tip without any of my fellow peers consent.
I've been here twice in 5 years. The 1st time I ordered the Menudo. I couldn't eat it. We recently decided to give it another go. Not much improvement. It's tough for me personally to eat Mexican food made by presumably Mexicans that is cheap & not good. I'm Mexican American and the taco shells tasted awful because they are pre-made shells laden with preservatives. I couldn't get that taste out of my mouth. It takes a couple minutes to fry some authentic shells, WHY would you serve ready made shells & try to pass that off as authentic Mexican food? Disappointing.
