Much nicer than a Premier Inn. Staff are great. I think I was upgraded as my room was bigger than last time. Lighting was better and I had a floor lamp. The desk was a good size and a chair was included. Still no chain on the door and a few sockets including by the bed and the mirror. Bathroom was bigger, more space for the larger person. EV chargers now available 😃

I stayed a few weeks ago with a group of friends... it was a retro disco night and we were looked after superbly by Katie and her team. The service and food were excellent. We were served by Jitka at breakfast and again both her service and the food were excellent. Thank you.

After a long day of travelling I booked a last min stay at this hotel with my partner and arrived late hours. The room was clean and modern but was very hot. A special thank you to Rajj who went out his way to find me a fan and being so lovely getting me some water for the room without asking. Great stay and service, definitely will be returning to try the pool!!

Used the Gym here whilst staying, had modern equipment, friendly approach and good times - although being open later would suit me better. A special mention to the staff member at the Gym reception Carrie who welcomed me, made me feel like I was part of the club and spent the time showing me around so I know where each equipment was - even down to the water machine, a priority of course. Actually thinking about it, it was Carrie that made this experience 5 star, otherwise I would have probably had only have given it a 4, please make sure to pass on my comments!

Fantastic hotel. As a corporate, I've stayed in many hotels and I can honestly say that the village cheadle is the best in terms of service, attentiveness / friendliness of staff, food quality is top quality, gym and spa facilities excellent. Im a member of David Lloyd and I can tell you the quality of the gym and spa at the village cheadle is on a par to DL at a fraction of the price. Village cheadle is 3* hotel but in my opinion it far surpasses the other 4* hotels in the vicinity

Went to the 80s night a few weeks ago. Brilliant night! We were very well looked after by Katie during the evening. Breakfast was also fab, particularly the lady on duty. She was incredibly helpful. Would highly recommend.

The welcome from Rahat was very much needed after my day at work. He was welcoming and explained everything. The room is large, clean, and the shower is fantastic. The restaurant is more like a sports bar with music. There is a large range of food and it was delicious. It is close to the airport so you do hear the planes, but that is to be expected. I'd like to stay here again.

Stayed in a family room over May Bank Holiday. The room was amazing, very spacious and also a big bathroom. Kids enjoyed the swimming pool. Enjoyed dinner and breakfast, plenty of choice for all ages. Planning our next stay already

Had a lovely time at Cheadle Village Hotel! The staff were fantastic. We really enjoyed the food, particularly the fish and chips and loaded fries—absolutely delicious. Ellie at the bar was so friendly and helpful, especially when it came to choosing which cocktails to try (great recommendations!). We also had a game of the new interactive darts, which was great fun and reasonably priced. My partner especially loved it. Overall, a fantastic experience—we’ll definitely be back!

We had a lovely overnight stay while visiting family in the area. The beds were comfortable, the room was spotless, and the service was excellent. The breakfast was delicious, with plenty of options to start the day off right. A special shoutout to the lad on reception from Gateshead—he was brilliant! No matter where you go, you can always count on finding a fellow Geordie

I visit the hotel most days being a member of the gym and working in the bar area, the staff are very welcoming and friendly. I have also had Christmas lunch in the hotel the past 3 Christmas' which I highly recommend as the food is great and they know how to make that Christmas party atmosphere and go out of their way to make the children enjoy Christmas.

I have been a member of the gym for the past 5 years and it’s definitely the best gym I have been to; I have tried multiple but nothing compares! I would also love to make sure this stands out for one of the gym colleagues carrie! She is absolutely wonderful and makes me feel so welcome when I walk into the gym, she always has a smile on her face and is so polite and kind! She goes above and beyond which is amazing to see!

Stayed over for just one night. Room was fairly bland but had everything you need inc Hair Dryer, Irons & Board, Tea & Coffee etc. I found the bed comfortable. Reception team were friendly and welcoming. The dining facility is very casual but the waiting staff were very very good, special thanks to Leah. Breakfast was included and there was a plentiful choice too. Overall the stay exceeded my expectation and proved to be good value for money.

Excellent service, from meet and greet to check out the staff worked extra hard to make our stay lovely. The hotel was clean, the room was very comfortable and the food/leisure was also really nice. Thanks for a great stay

Lovely hotel! Accommodating staff who are very friendly and helpful! Clean and tidy with a great pub and grill attached. Im corporate in my business travels and struggle for decent affordable rate hotels, this franchise i will certainly be staying in when away on business for my top firm SIS PITCHES UK LTD. This time I stayed was for leisure and I was definitely impressed, thanks Village hotels 💯

Always a lovely stay, nice bar n restaurant area, plenty of free parking. Food is nice, traditional pub grub like burgers/nachos etc. The rooms are lovely and beds are comfortable. Downstairs the gym n swimming is brilliant, nice shower facilities with hairdryers and straighteners. Pool open till 10pm with sauna, steam rooms and jacuzzi. Not very deep but ok for doing some laps. Always very clean. Staff helpful but not in your face which is great. Not far from Cheadle village where a lot of nice restaurants. Close to A34 and M60.

Spent the weekend at the hotel and booked a Club Room. The bed was amazing very comfortable! The room was well-heated and spotless. The pool area was nice, with a great hot tub, sauna, and steam rooms that did the job. The gym had a good selection of cardio equipment, including a spin bike and rower. The weights room was locked when I went, but it looked well-stocked. The bar was very busy and seemed short-staffed, leading to long waits for food. However, when the food arrived, it was piping hot and tasted great thumbs up for that! Overall, a great stay with just a small issue at the bar. Would definitely return!

had a pleasant stay at the hotel. The staff were absolutely lovely, especially the receptionists—both during the morning and late-night shifts. They’re friendly and helpful. The services overall were good. However, I did notice that there was no telephone in the room to connect with reception. The swimming pool and leisure club were great.

Pleasent large room, good beer and food. Every hotel could learn from the checking in experience, Rahat couldn't be more friendly or helpful absolute credit to the hotel, nice to visit a place after a long drive the staff lift your spirits on arrival, thank you

9th August 2025 Stayed here for two nights, very clean and good size bedrooms, standard hotels selections for breakfast. Staff are very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The hotel is situated on the flight path to Manchester Airport and it can get noise late at night after a function in the hotel. It is still a good place to stay, plenty of free parking and EV chargers.

J

Check in yourself for a price which I felt was expensive for one night sharing a single twin room. No breakfast included, no fan, no AC. Not informed when breakfast started and ended but asked if wanted to pay £15 each. Pool with sauna but an extra £5 to use too. Incredibly cheeky to think for £100+ each for the night you get basically a room.

K
Kelly R

Club room was a good size, nice comfy double bed and large shower. The sofa bed was unfortunately rather uncomfortable. Nice selection at breakfast. Pool area has a nice atmosphere with ambient lighting at night. Staff were friendly especially the lovely Fahrat on the front desk, very welcoming and attentive. Would definitely stay again.

I stayed here for a few days and had a mixed experience. The rooms are a 3/5 at best—the lighting is very dim, and the plug situation is extremely impractical. There are no charging points near the bed; the only two available are occupied by the coffee machine, making it impossible to charge multiple devices at once. The hotel is also quite expensive given its remote location, which is a long way from the city center. On the plus side, the breakfast was good, though I would have liked to see some halal options included. Funny part is if you ask for Refresh the room, extra tissues aren’t even placed inside the bathroom.

K
Keith Vickers

Decent hotel if a little dated now with no AC, but everything is clean and tidy and the staff are all pleasant and friendly and helpful. Can self check in at the screens in the lobby area. it gets busy with plenty people going to the gym swimming pool coffee shop and bar/restaurant

A mixed review of this hotel. Beware of getting a first floor room above the gym. We were awakened at 6:30am with the BOM BOOM BOOM of a gym class swinging into action. (The gym opens early during the week - a lttle later at weekends.) The bedrooms walls aren't well insulated - so I hope you don't have noisy neighbours as we did on a couple of nights. Our room was serviced just one during our 4 night stay. But I managed to catch one of the room staff in the evening and she did come and service the room for us right away. Breakfast was excellent! Great choice and delicious. The bed was comfortable and the room clean. The reception staff were very helpful when we wanted to check-in a little earlier than 3pm. Car parking is limited and £5 per day. Location is good for motorway access. As I said - a mixed review.

Came here for a birthday buffet, the food was nice (portions were smaller than expected considering it was a buffet) and the hall was cozy but the service could’ve been better overall.

S

Our room was above the Gym and a spinning class started at 6.30 on the Friday morning.......it was sooooo very loud as if the class was being held at the end of our bed. Our room was so cold as the radiator was not working although we were greatful staff sent up an oil filled heater. Window had black mould on the inside. Bathroom fan didnt work so the bathroom was so very wet after our first showers in the morning and didnt dry out for the 2nd night / day of our stay. Horrible stains on the carpet next to the bed.

I recently held my 50th birthday at The Village Hotel in Cheadle and although I had a really good night, the buffet was not worth the money at all. They charge £21.50 per head for their cheapest buffet and unfortunately too many of my guests were either not fed at all or fed very little even though I catered for the correct amount of people there. Also you will be charged double for a bottle of prosecco in the party room compared to what they charge in their main bar. I would recommend the hotel in general, staff are friendly, facilities are great and the location for me was spot on but if you are thinking of holding a function there, I would cater for far more people than you tend to invite making this function room the most expensive in the area. The food on the whole was nice but the chicken wraps and hummus wraps were not well received by my guests. They said they were dry and bland. I myself only got a mini burger, brushetta and spoonful of coleslaw on the evening and was shocked at how little food there was. Definitely not good value for money. What a shame because everything else was fab. I contacted the hotel and made them aware but all they were willing to do was offer me a table for 4 on a party evening or a nights stay but they often have special offers on for £49 for a room so this just added insult to injury.

I have been staying at the Village Hotel in Cheadle for over 10 years, and understandably the rooms do show wear and tear over time. During my last stay however there was a lysol-like odour I initially attributed to cleaning products, and after it persisted, to the room's proximity to the pool. On the last night of my stay I discovered significant mold on the bathroom ceiling. When I mentioned the mold issue to the reception staff he was very apologetic and said he would have his manager get back to me on Monday since he was not in a position to do much. Nobody ever got in touch with me. This was on top of wading through puddles in the bathroom because the shower partition was so worn it couldn't keep the water from spilling out on the floor. And of course the noise from party guests in the hallway that do not realize how loud they are talking at midnight. There was no point in sleeping earlier since we could hear the music from both the event rooms in our hotel room. I don't think I'll be coming back again. It's a shame since all the staff are very friendly and service oriented.

I would say 2.5 stars is fair, but if forced to choose between 2 and 3, I have to round down. I stayed here for one night for work. Check-in was good - there are some self-service terminals, but I had a question and so was checked in by a staff member quickly. However, I wasn't told anything about breakfast times, prices, whether it was included, etc - nor was I told check-out times or any other hotel information. The room was quite disappointing. There was chipped paint and damaged wood around the doorframe, and some marks and scuffs on the wallpaper in various locations. The windows were very stiff to open and close, and there was no air-conditioning so the room was very hot. There was a Dyson fan, but even on full, it didn't really blow out any cold air and it was very loud (which at least blocked some of the sound of planes coming into the airport every minute or so). The bed was comfortable, but the four pillows were all extremely lumpy and difficult to find a comfortable spot on. The sheet didn't really fit the bed, and when I woke in the morning, it had come off the mattress and was a bit tangled. There was one large ceiling light just in the entrance to the room, but otherwise only bedside lights (and only one worked), so in the evening the room was very dark even with all the lights on - difficult to dig around in a bag or generally sort out my things. The bathroom was small but clean and in good condition, and the provided shower gel and shampoo seemed good quality. However, it was difficult to get the cold tap to run cold, resulting in only lukewarm drinking water. Breakfast was not included in my booking - to add on would have been £17.50 which I think is quite expensive for a buffet breakfast. I opted to use the Starbucks in the hotel instead. All in all a mediocre stay due to the quality of the hotel room. I wouldn't return, given that there are plenty of other choices in the area.

Saturday 20th december was our 3rd year going to the xmas doo with friends but last night will be our last time ,we left at 10.30 ,the dj was terrible and room felt flat ,the 3 lads serving on the bar outside the room were very slow and kept getting the drinks wrong I Was charged £22 for 2 single rums and 1 diet coke Half hour later my wife went to the same bar ,she was the only 1 at the bar and 3 bar staff took 10 minutes to serve her and charged her a different price for 2 rums and diet coke only after getting it wrong again, 1 of them had a filthy white shirt that was totally creased The other bar staff in the sports area were really good and helped us to save money so its not the place but certain staff that made the night memorable for all the wrong reasons ,so guess we saved money, 4 of us spent £500 between us last year and around £180 between 4 last night,me and my wife got married there in 2012 and had many nights there over the years and always rated the experience

We paid for a family room that had clearly had smokers in there. We were then asked to move to a different room with a single sofa bed, this room had not been cleaned, towels on the floor, toilet paper on the floor, bin full of rubbish, stains on the bed. This place felt run down, well in need of a makeover.

I checked in as normal and proceeded to my room the bathroom well i didn’t appear clean urine stains on the seat mould on the ceiling and cigarette burns on the bath. I was offered the accessible room but the bed is virtually on the floor so back to the old room with the promise of changing it ! I asked on three occasions to swap rooms and was told sorry we’re fully booked ! Fast forward to check out only to find soft drinks had been booked to my room I informed the reception ‘ manager and was refunded only to find out two hours later the money had been taken again . After contacting customer services not much help tbh I drove back to the hotel and waited for said manager who again said he would refund the amount it’s not so much about the amount it’s the fact they are billing me for drinks that I didn’t have Still not been refunded !!!!!. It’s a really shame I’ve stayed at several villages and tbh I think they are normally great but on this occasions the reception manager was poor and the state of the room well it was dirty !

I arrived at the hotel unaware that my booking was ‘cancelled’ it did not say on my end that my booking was cancelled but somehow that was the case and they couldn’t fit me in because ‘they were fully booked’ I could see on my end that there were rooms available to book. I had stayed at this hotel a couple times in the past, not the best but convenient. The staff even recognised me but still chose to treat me terribly with no regard and real explanation. I had just arrived the country after a long haul flight and was exhausted. The staff at the desk didn’t think the issue was urgent and was extremely nonchalant about it. The manager claimed that there was a policy in place that causes rooms to be cancelled when not prepaid. My only question was why that option was available to begin with. Couldn’t also show me the policy on the website or anywhere. I watched 2 Caucasian men pay on arrival, I purposely hung around to see what would happen as I had an inkling that it had something to do with me particularly, maybe my skin colour. It’s now over a month since this happened, rooms are still available to be paid on arrival. Very disappointed because this is a hotel I had stayed at many times before and spent quite a lot of my money on. I wouldn’t advice any black person to stay here. You’re not missing out on anything anyway, the rooms aren’t cleaned properly and aren’t looked after properly. EDIT: my review has now been replied. Not once was it mentioned that I had previously cancelled reservations and there was any issue with ‘charging my card’ maybe if that was mentioned it could have been rectified. I got no response other than ‘we’re fully booked’ and ‘your reservation was cancelled’. There was no attempt to explain why or even rectify the issue as this hotel staff simply did not care to. They just wanted to get on with their day. I’m not sure that’s how it works in the hospitality industry. Most importantly, the staff that attended to me being ‘Asian’ has nothing to do with my experience and that in its entirety is the problem. I’m not Asian am I? Just because we are both from minor ethnicities doesn’t mean anything and quite frankly that is an extremely ignorant statement and a statement made in an attempt to insult my intelligence. There’s no point in replying reviews only to lie or give half truths. Please do better.

DO NOT STAY HERE Unless you want to party in your room until 2am. They had two functions on downstairs if I was told this prior to arrival I WOULD have not stayed here. They put us on the 2nd floor so we couldn’t hear it as much ! It kept me up until 2am I can’t imagine the poor people staying on the first floor . I could hear the lyrics clear as day and the bass booming through the floor. Despite calling and asking them to turn it down at 10:30pm it kept going until 1am multiple calls and no answers. When the music finally stopped I was again awoken by the sound of moving chairs and heavy furniture. The tv didn’t screen share, there is NO SIGNAL in the hotel and the WIFI HARDLY WORKS. I have stayed at many village hotels in the past and could never fault them this one however should be advertised as a room above a club !

I am writing this at 3.42am after being kept awake until 11.45pm by a delivery out side the window and now constant door banging. Not a hotel in my opinion when you can't get any sleep. The room must be above the smoking area as it smells like cigarettes. I would not advise anyone to stay here. Plus on the flight path which probably wouldn't have bothered me if it want for the door banging.

i

Shockingly bad. No air-con, noisy rooms, very poor reception and bar service, no EV charging points, heavily regulated swimming pool times for kids, very expensive and underwhelming menu. Would not re-viait following 2 evenings there in August.

Nice hotel, but poor customer service. We have been trying to contact Rahat for something like 6 months to book a 'complimentary one night stay' that was offered to us after a disrupted night of sleep from very loud noises in the hotels when we last stayed. I have called multiple times, emailed multiple times, and each time I get either no reply or a junior member of staff telling me that 'only a manager like Rahat can make a booking'. Well, what use is that? Why bother to have staff if they can't make booking at a *hotel*? We would very much appreciate a swift resolution to this so I can update my review to something more positive, which is what the hotel would otherwise deserve.

I am writing this review in the hopes that management finally takes notice of the deteriorating state of the facilities here. For a gym and spa that should prioritize wellness, the current levels of hygiene and maintenance are frankly unacceptable. The Spa & Wet Facilities The spa area is currently "gross" rather than relaxing. - Hygiene: The steam room is in desperate need of a deep scrub; the tiles are visibly dirty and black. I don’t think I have ever sat in there and thought wow this place has had a clean. - The wood in the sauna is stained to the point it looks like mud- it is genuinely disgusting to sit on. There are always puddles of water on the floor which build up dirt from the footfall. - Showers: The showers are filthy. In the ladies' changing rooms, one of the shower heads is literally hanging off the wall. • Broken Equipment: The newly installed plunge pool has already been broken for weeks. Unfortunately, this seems to be a recurring theme where facilities are out of order more often than they are functional. - All you ever see is staff with a mop, the place needs actual experienced cleaners. - I’ve even seen staff cleaning the treadmills in the gym with a mop and bucket! No wonder they are all broken. The Gym The lack of care extends to the fitness suite as well. - Maintenance: There are far too many broken treadmills taking up space. - Cleanliness: The gym mats are dirty and clearly aren't being sanitized or replaced frequently enough. Service & Management The staff lack any sense of warmth or professionalism; they are consistently unfriendly and are in dire need of basic hospitality training. The most concerning part is the lack of oversight. The Hotel Manager needs to step out of the office and actually walk through these facilities. If they did, they would see how "gross" the environment has become. The hygiene standards need a complete overhaul immediately. Bottom line: I cannot recommend this club until they prioritize cleanliness and basic repairs.

Booked a two night stay, on arrival was greeted by two loud parties happening, so loud I couldn't communicate with the reception staff to check in, the music carried on thumping away till 3am. I'm staying for work so could have done with a decent night's sleep, just finished work and come to the hotel for the second night and another party booming away, I'm on the second floor but it's still very loud! Obviously sound insulation wasn't a thing when the hotel was built. The rooms very dated, and the light switch near the door in my room is broken so you are welcomed into the room in darkness thumbling around the for a second switch by the bed in the pitch black. The breakfast was good however and the staff are nice but don't expect a peaceful night's sleep.
