During an LA trip my friend took me to Uncle Bill for breakfast. Cool spot near Manhattan beach. Our host was awesome. Everything I got came as a recommendation from the host. I ended up getting sausage wrap. My friend got the omelette which came with it pancake. Huge fan. When I come back, this will be the first place I visit.

I’ve been coming here for years and it never gets old. Love coming here for a classic breakfast on a sunny day. Staff is great and the food always hits the spot. Super crowded on the weekends so be prepared to wait!

Located just about 3 stone throws away from the sand in the Pacific Ocean, the restaurant offers a bright and airy atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating, some of which provide beautiful ocean views. The menu features a variety of breakfast classics, including their renowned pancakes and waffles. The hash browns are also a standout, known for their crispiness and satisfying taste. The delicious food and inviting ambiance will bring us back. Due to its popularity, especially on weekends, there can be a wait for a table. However, the food and the charming setting make it well worth the wait. For those looking to enjoy a classic American breakfast with a view, Uncle Bill's Pancake House is a must-visit destination in Manhattan Beach.

We went to Uncle Bill’s House for breakfast, and the food was lip-smacking good. We were completely satisfied with our meals. There's outdoor and indoor seating. Uncle Bill’s is a trendy spot, so be prepared to wait. It's usually a short wait. When we first went, we ordered the house specialty, Uncle Bill’s French Toast; it was delish. This time, we explored the menu. I ordered some banana nut pancakes. They exceeded my expectations, and they tasted scrumptious. The scrambled eggs and hash browns were good, too. The coffee was on par with most pancake houses. We love the cozy family home feeling inside and the beach-chic atmosphere outdoors. There is limited prepaid meter parking adjacent to Uncle Bill’s. There is also public parking within walking distance. The cost of food is very reasonable and a great value. The service is excellent. One of the local regulars told me the next time we visit, ask for the natural molasses syrup that is kept behind the counter.

It’s been years since I’ve been to this place, and I used to come faithfully until I moved. Such a lovely atmosphere right next to the beach, and the orange juice is great! The quality of the pancakes aren’t as good as I remembered, but they are still tasty. I’d recommend asking for your hashbrowns to be extra crispy, and get the apple chicken sausage!

Beautiful location for morning breakfast. Service was phenomenal. Our coffee cups were never empty. There was someone checking in every couple of minutes. The entrees were hot and cooked well. The hash browns, potatoes stroganoff, were cheesy and loaded with bacon. Blueberry Pancakes were light and fluffy. The waffles had a crispy edge that added a contrast to the soft fruity center. My eggs, although cheesy, were overcooked. Uncle Bill's is worth a visit.

Solid diner food recommended by a friend. I had the Potatoes del riego w/ over-medium eggs 🍳 and a side of pancakes. Five stars for service — everyone was on their A game! Extremely impressed by the staff, who were also very accommodating. Their potato specialty was good. Three stars for mediocre pancakes and below mid pancake syrup (tasted so cheap and bad).

Travel Beyond Serendipity (Hope)

We came to Uncle Bill’s Pancake House on Presidents’ Day, and wow, it was packed! The wait was about 45 minutes, but we didn’t mind—it gave us a chance to walk around and check out the area. Once we got seated, we were excited to dig in! The pancakes? Incredible. So fluffy, moist, and just everything you’d want from a classic breakfast spot. If you come here, you have to get them. I also tried the roast beef sandwich, and honestly, it was just okay. The beef was a bit tough, and I really wish there were some veggies to add more flavor, but the fries were solid. One little thing we noticed—the hostesses were a bit distracted, fixing each other’s hair instead of focusing on seating guests, which felt kind of unprofessional, lol. But overall, the food and vibe made up for it, and we’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Manhattan Beach!

Breakfast was pretty good, nothing special or memorable, but service was very slow. We had to wait about 25 minutes to be seated for a Sunday brunch and then once seated we waited quite a bit to place our order and then also after finishing, we waited another long time to grab our bill and be able to head out. Also we sat outside and the tables are very small and the chairs are not very comfortable so I would strongly recommend sitting inside. They don’t have a parking lot, but parking is pretty easy to find in this part of town. We were able to find a metered spot a block away. Our server was very polite when she came over, but there were long wait times in between everything else. I really liked how large the menu was, and it does have a lot of great options, but did not have my favorite breakfast dish, which is the Eggs Benedict. The options here are more simple and straight forward compared to diner options. I chose the Mitch’s Scramble for my meal and thought it was actually really good. The green chilies and cream cheese are a great combination and I would definitely recommend ordering it to anybody. I added avocado which I thought made it even better. The hashbrowns on the side were just OK, not nearly as crispy as I like them and the pancakes were good but nothing special. I ordered them because of the restaurant’s name but going back a second time I would just get toast. Overall a fairly good breakfast spot in Manhattan Beach although I like The Kettle just down the street a lot more.

Although lacking in beachfront views, the company you keep can more than compensate for any shortcomings, making it a worthwhile breakfast destination overall.

Well Uncle Bill's is busy if nothing else. We finally were able to get in here one morning. The service was ok. Our server was pleasant, several were just so so. The menu was kinda weird as everything had some weird California twist to it. The food was hot and tasty. We enjoyed everything. Nothing above any other breakfast place in the general area. They all seem busy though.

Very large brunch if you are hungry which is good. I had the pork chop and eggs. The chop was a little tasteless. Hash brown was very good. The pancake was ok but nothing special. The waitress never made eye contact with any of our group once which we all commented about. She just seemed to be going through the motions. Nice location but would not rush back.

We had a 30 minute wait on a Saturday morning but the area was nice to walk around while we waited for the text. Overall the food was good. Nothing that stood out from other breakfast places, and I thought that my omelette lacked some flavor. I had the Denver omelette with buttermilk pancakes. The pancakes had a great flavor but were a little chewy in texture. The coffee was also a little on the plain side. I also felt the table was a bit sticky which was gross to me. The people waiting on us were really nice and attentive.

Not a great place to dine. My partner and I came based off TikTok review to make a review of our own on TikTok (picture below.) An observation is that this is a very loud setting indoors. Once seated we ordered a drink and was given incorrect drink, fine, no big deal. Then we ordered our (2) plates and (3) sides our waitress tried to help by changing one of plates that included or substituted our sides to make things easier, however she did not remove initial plate we ordered. We brought it up to her and she had us slide the incorrect food off our plates onto another for her to take, thought that was strange... Then once ready to pay a male employee came and we showed him the extra pancakes and eggs left that should've been removed and he said we ordered it and emphasized our waitress did they to "save you guys some money" and immediately offered a box to take the food home. We decided to just pay for the food therefore we could just leave as again, the environment was very loud and we were both overwhelmed. Have noticed a lot of others have responded stating they too have had unpleasant experiences here as well. People have also mentioned their negative reviews via yelp or google have not been acknowledged therefore I do not expect a response.
