Opinions de Raccoon Saloon Marlboro
French onion soup was spot on. Great burger. Love the old vibe of the place. Very nice people.
This was my first trip back to the Racoon Saloon in several years and was very impressed. I met a friend for lunch and it was perfect! We had a beautiful view, and the service was attentive, but not rushed. The food was outstanding! I had a burger and hands down, it was the best I've had in a very long time. I've been telling everyone about it, and will ne back VERY soon for another!
Went here on a recommendation and have been back twice so far. Food is delicious, the bar is beautiful and the service excellent. The views of the waterfall and Hudson River are bonuses
We were in the area for a family wedding, and my husband and I needed some quiet time. We decided to try the Raccoon Saloon on Saturday, June 28. We may have been the first people in for lunch that day. It was quiet, and the people welcoming. We were seated at a table with a view of the river, so nice. Our waitress (I think) was Claire. The food was wonderful; we were so relaxed. We came back the next day and got takeaway, and it, too, was great. I would highly recommend this place for the food and ambiance.
My absolute favorite place to stop for food- highly recommend if you're local or just passing through. The servers are all very kind. It is elegant but not pretentious and always made with care. My favorites are the french onion soup and the burger!
I first discovered Racoon Saloon YEARS ago on a weekend drive with my mom. Walking in the door the first time we had no idea what to expect. We were probably just looking for a beer. But walking just a few feet inside we were ASTONISHED by the view and it immediately became one of our most cherished spots upstate. Imagine how thrilled I was during a recent trip to New York to discover that it's STILL here. Still the same breathtaking view and still a great spot for a beer and a really good caprese salad. I love The Raccoon Saloon and have had so many happy memories here.
What a find! Saw the sign while heading to Walkway over the Hudson, and come on, we HAD to try a place called Raccoon Saloon! Every aspect of this place was awesome. Greeted and seated (amazing view from our window looking out over the river), our server was spectacular (and although she said she was relatively new here, she had spectacular knowledge of the menu and even suggested a beer for my specific taste 👍). The French Onion soup was one of the best I’ve ever had. We both had their “small” 8oz burgers which were cooked to perfection, and the sweet potato fries - yum! Highly recommend and will be back again when we pass through (or we just might have to make a special trip).
I’ve passed by this place in Marlboro my whole life on 9w right by the Falcon. Once I found out they serve steak I knew I had to try it one day. So last night after the gym I finally went. It’s a very nice local spot where everyone there was friendly. Sat at the bar and waited patiently for the Filet mignon to come out. Very quickly I was served and boy was I happy I decided to finally try it. Such an amazing steak I was beyond satisfied. The steak just melts in your mouth, perfect texture and seasoned exceptionally well. I was so enlivened I stopped on by and will definitely comeback again! 8/10 steak
If you haven't gone here on your way through Marlboro NY, then you are missing out. This is an old favorite of mine from our motorcycle trips through the area. My girlfriend and I have just recently gone here while touring the wine trail and it is forever unchanged, quaint, and excellent! The building is historic, the food and staff are incredible, the views from the back balcony are beautiful, and location is perfect. A must go! It will become a stop you make whenever you are nearby.
Heard about this place from a little local winery so decided to stop in. It's on a pretty busy road (Rt. 9W) so, if you don't park right in front, use caution crossing the street. It's got decent decor and amazing views. I'm sure it looks even better when there's actual greenery on the trees. We'd been told to try the burgers, so we did. They were very good. Cooked to perfection and completely delicious. This is definitely worth visiting . We also ended up here again for dinner (that's a whole other story) but we got some ravioli dish in a cream sauce with shrimp. It was divine. I think that overall, this is a great place, not just for burgers but for any meal.
They used to have delicious homemade ketchup. Not sure what happened. Now it’s literally red corn syrup. Sweet as Candy. Not at all whst it used to be. Also, If they want to charge extra for every burger topping- then make sure you’re giving customers the correct thing. They had garlic Mayo/aioli as an add on for $1.50- and whst we received was pure miracle whip. No Mayo, no garlic. It was disgusting and sweet. Burger was big and juicy; but things like that are truly bothersome. Also, waitress said fries were fresh hand cut fries. They were not homemade fries- they were frozen. Service was great, views were nice. I don’t trust the food. I read that a few people had food poisoning after their meal; and I have to say I’m not surprised.
I had burger with sweet fried they all delicious. However, I was not impress with Blood orange Dark and Stormy cocktail that I ordered. I feel like I was drinking OJ with ginger beer (taste not bad)They were not use blood orange juice and spice rum as mention in the cocktail menu. Orange that use as garnish need to be refresh. I was not offered drink menu upon seated.
I came with my husband to eat today, the food was fine, nothing to write home about. The young lady that was serving us provided good service as well. I wasn’t even thinking about leaving a review but our total came out to $164 and change, I paid $180 in cash, and told her to keep the change. As we’re walking out the owner I’m assuming, and older woman, blonde, walks out and asks if the service was good, we replied yes, and she said ‘Oh because usually they leave more tip’. We went in, ordered what we wanted, received our food, got checked on a couple of times, the service wasn’t extraordinary in which we made a connection with the server nor was I expecting it to be. Everything is already expensive as it is, an almost $14 tip on a service provided for an hour seemed more than reasonable. If you paid your servers a livable wage, you wouldn’t need to be begging for tips. So unclassy. First and last time here.
So I took my family of three here tonight Nov 2025 and we sat down at 6pm. They came right out and brought our drinks and took our complete order for an appetizer and our dinner. We waited a little over a 45 min for them to come out and tell us they dropped our ticket and didn’t put our order in. The manager Ronin bought us two drinks for the delay. We then waited another 45 min and the food still didn’t come out AFTER Ronin told us we will get it out right away. Three other people sat down ordered and got their food before ours. We decided to get up and leave after an hour and a half. Horrible service! It was our first time going there and DEFINITELY will be our last. We live in town and will let others know of our experience there.
