Very nice place and although I have not tried the food yet I have gotten many cakes and postres ! Están ricos :)
Best bakery/restaurant around! Can't go wrong whatever you order it will be delicious and authentic. Fresh and cooked in a spotless clean environment. Everyone in the staff are wonderful and friendly, attentive. A true gem of the Hudson Valley. My favorite is the chicken noodle soup, homemade with big chunks of fresh chicken carrot and a wonderful broth. Along with the incredible strawberry shortcake. But again choose whatever you like guaranteed delicious
The Cuban was perfect and that Chilean red sauce on the side super duper good Had a almond cookie and coffee too everything was excellent whenever I’m up here again definitely going back
I loved the atmosphere as soon as I walked in. Super clean, tasteful decorations, and you immediately see the beautiful pastries neatly in the display case. Family owned with warmed welcomes and friendly staff. I'm so happy I found this place. When you are able to find the perfect balance of fresh, great flavor and not overly sweet, you know I'll be back. I'm certain that I have a new cake place, for future events and birthdays. Having just moved to the area from Woodstock, i haven't come across any bakerys worth rating. Not to mention it's reasonably priced. Great find. ( I got a small Tres leches cake, a slice of chocoflan, and a bag of concha bread).
The best food! Wonderful, my go to. Love their empanadas are baked not fried and the tex mex sandwich is awesome. 5 stars!
They haven’t changed their salsa recipe after all of these years and it’s soooooo delish 👏🏻 amazing food and family friendly atmosphere
This place has been serving me and my family for almost two decades. Hands down, the best bakery in the hudson valley. The food 10/10, service 10/10, and atmosphere is most definitely 10/10. My over all experience continues to be near perfect everytime I decide to place an order or decide to sit down. This place doesn’t deserve just recognition for their hard work, they deserve EVERYONE to experience the home welcoming feeling the staff provides you, and creativity with their delicious deserts and food. After their recent tragic loss in one of their employees I couldn’t help but notice a painful emotional change amongst the crew. But even after going thru this dramatic change, they continue to provide the same energy and love they always have!!!
Love this place! I live across the country but whenever I return to the Hudson Valley this is a must stop :) highly recommend. Great food, great dessert, great place
This Chilean bakery is a hidden gem. While their fresh baked goods and pastries are outstanding, what truly sets them apart is the quality of their hot meals. It’s not just a bakery — it’s a place where you can sit down and enjoy a hearty, home-style Spanish dish prepared with care. Every meal feels authentic, fresh, and comforting, making it more than just a quick stop — it’s an experience worth coming back for.
Aside from this place being small and tightly cramped, Los Hornitos still offers an interesting variety of American style Latin cuisine. I only eat here once in a while and when I do, their food is always top notch. Some of the people I know who come on a more regular basis say it hits the spot. You won’t be disappointed.
Fantastic! Love the food. I would not know what authentic Chilean cuisine is, but one leaves with a feeling that one has experienced time away in another culture. The food is great and the baked goods are a real temptation. Darn diet and super efficient body. I swear that I gained two pounds just looking through the glass at the beautiful cakes! Well worth a drive. The owner came over and spent some time talking with my wife and me. Just lovely people.
We are enjoying the baked goods here. They are crazy fresh, light, and knockout tasty, so good that we almost can't stay away. We were there a few days ago and brought home my favorite, Pineapple Coconut Cake. If you're tired of the so-so cakes in most places, then you need to try this place. It's a very clean place with nice staff and friendly service.
This is hands down my favorite place to eat in Dutchess County. I've eaten here hundreds of times, and it never fails to be some of the best tasting Chilean food I've ever had. I normally get the Cuban sandwhich (I have yet to find a better one, even in miami), but this time, I switched it up and got the Bistec A Lo Pobre, which was absolutely incredible. Oh, and don't even get me started about the dessert. My fiance and I can't get enough of the rainbow tres leches cake. Also, the owner and staff are also the best!
We've been wanting to try this place, for years. For some reason, we hadn't done so until yesterday. Wow! What a disservice we did onto ourselves. We have been missing out! The food here is DELICIOUS! It's fresh, hot and tasty! It's authentic latin food (seasoned and prepared as do Central and Southern Americans, not Caribbeans), and it's SO worth it! The price is very reasonable and the service is done with a smile. Most DEFINITELY recommended! 👍🏼
I wanted to get pernil and the spot I wanted to try is closed on Tuesdays. I recalled that a lady at a Poughkeepsie library stated Los Hornitos in Wappingers has very good food, so I ventured over here. I was attended to by an older lady and asked the price of the pork since I was looking at the chart above her head and not a menu. She proceeded to ask if I would like it with rice and beans, or rice and salad. I answered and she gave my total. I wasn’t done ordering but I wasn’t in the mood to do more business if she wasn’t in the mood. There were no people behind me. I get that a few customers just left so maybe one put her in a mood or she expected a surge of customers soon and wanted to rush me. The food was really good, and the portion was admirable. I also enjoyed the sauce that was given for the pernil. I may go back eventually to try a baked good like the tres leches, but not in a rush to have so-so service.
I had a very very bad taste about this order. It is incredible that a bakery that is supposed to have a lot of experience would insult the customer's intelligence by delivering a cake that was made in a negligent manner and that they would abuse it by charging $160. I put a reference photo of what I expected and a photo of what I received and they didn't even write the dedication to the birthday girl. This cake doesn't even cost $20, it would have been better to buy a supermarket cake. And you might wonder why we don't complain at the time of delivery of the cake? Simply because someone else was sent to pick it up, this was also a special gift that was given to the birthday girl and it was a total disaster because the cake taste was horrible, the bread was super dry...inedible. It was the worst experience ordering a cake.
I was really excited to try this place as I’m always on the hunt for amazing and authentic Latin cuisine, and when I walked in the door I was pleasantly surprised by the wide variety in their menu. I was with my mom and we ordered an assortment of pastries and a couple of empanadas and while we waited I snapped some pics of the adorable atmosphere. As we moved down the counter and deeper into the restaurant to make sure we were socially distanced I noticed something a little off putting. One of the ladies that was working had come out of the kitchen and walked up to the woman at the grill who was making my food and started talking to her. This of course is not an issue, what bothered me was that she was eating food from a plate she was holding in her hand and talking very close to someone who was cooking my empanadas. I waited to see if this would be a brief encounter which to my surprise it wasn’t, and as I saw food falling from her fork I felt I had to say something. As politely as I could I asked if she could eat her food away from the grill and my food that was being prepared. To my astonishment she not only began to defend herself, but the woman making my food suddenly said “that’s my daughter!” I was so shocked by their response that I just paid and left. Without even having my first bite this place left a bad taste in my mouth from this one encounter and I most likely won’t be going back and wouldn’t recommend purely based on their customer service. I’m half El Salvadoran and have worked in family restaurants since I was legally able to. I was always taught to never eat food in the prep area and certainly not where customers can see you unless you’re sitting at a table on break. Have you ever been to a restaurant and seen employees eat their food while they’re making yours? Nope, and there’s a reason for that. I haven’t worked in a restaurant in a minute but I’m pretty sure the health inspector would still frown upon that. And hey, I’m all for people making honest mistakes, but to then argue and get so defensive over these actions was just not acceptable in my eyes. It’s unfortunate because I really wanted to support and like this place, especially since my godmother is Chilean.
