We ordered a few dishes. I ordered the Sangria. It was lightly sweetened and refreshing. The ambience inside was moody and dim. It felt perfect. We walked in at 4:30. Everything was hot and delicious by the time we ordered. Everything came as it was being made. We didn't have dessert. No space for it. The salad was warm and the best. It was perfectly made. This made our visit to McMinnville amazing. It was my first time at a Spanish restaurant. Happy Martin Luther King’s Day.

Amazing foods! We love our dinner. I especially enjoyed the fried artichoke! So good. Great flavors. Salad was very good, too! Great service! Nice atmosphere!

Notice: Long Review. It's not often I am surprised by a restaurant. Too many aspire and don't deliver. For a super-taster the world IS aromas and flavors and nuance. We visited La Rambla in McMinnville for the first time recently, and it left a strong impression—enough that we’re already planning a return. The space feels warm and inviting, with exposed brick, soft lighting, and a layout that encourages lingering. It’s stylish without being pretentious, which is exactly the kind of balance I appreciate. We started with the Oregon Mushroom Flatbread, and it was a standout. Earthy, aromatic mushrooms layered over a crisp base, with just the right amount of cheese and herbs to let the local ingredients shine. It felt seasonal and well-considered—like someone in the kitchen actually cares about flavor harmony. The Coffee-Dusted Grass-Fed Flat Iron Steak was another highlight. Cooked to a perfect medium-rare, it had a subtle bitterness from the coffee rub that played beautifully against the richness of the meat. The Calabrese aioli added a creamy, spicy kick that elevated each bite without overwhelming the dish. A Rioja Reserva or a bolder Pinot Noir are just the thing. It’s the kind of pairing that shows restraint and creativity in equal measure. We also tried the Sauteed Garlic Chili Shrimp, which brought a nice pop of heat and brightness. The shrimp were tender and well-seasoned, and the garlic-chili combo gave it a bold, satisfying flavor. It’s a dish that would pair well with a crisp Albariño or even a dry rosé—something to cut through the spice and complement the seafood. The Mixto Plate gave us a chance to sample a few other bites—jamón, manchego, chorizo, figs, quince and more. It’s a solid choice if you want to graze and sip wine while chatting. Speaking of wine, the list leans thoughtfully into both Spanish selections and local Oregon producers. I appreciated that it wasn’t just the usual suspects; there were some interesting bottles I’d love to explore next time. I also look forward to seeing Campo Viejo Rioja Reserva added to the selection. Overall, La Rambla delivered a meal that felt both grounded and inspired. The flavors were layered but approachable, the service was attentive, and the atmosphere made it easy to relax and enjoy. For a first visit, it hit all the right notes—and we’re looking forward to going back to try more.

Decided to travel here from Salem for dinner with friends and we were not disappointed! One of us had already visited and suggested we go. The food was all delicious in the green beans with walnuts was hands-down my favorite!

Very delicious tapas place! The drinks were all so good, with an extensive menu. The tapas are true to its name and on the smaller side - which we expected - so we got to try a number of things. Highly recommend the croquetas - they were definitely the star. I’m not sure I’d get the lamb kebabs again but they weren’t bad. The Brussel sprouts were my second favorite.

Food is great! Feels like in Spain. If you order the paella, make sure you order a decent amount of starters so you don’t get bored waiting for it. Don’t skip dessert, either.

Do not miss this restaurant! We had bacon wrapped dates, baked goat cheese, garlic shrimp, fried artichoke hearts with garlic aioli, flan for dessert. I would recommend going for happy hour, 4-6, deals on tapas. The tasting rooms for the wineries seem to close around 4:00, so go on over for happy hour after wine tasting. Great service, nice atmosphere.

Excellent food with a friendly and professional staff. The dates were an obvious favorite. The pork belly was a perfect blend of crispy and tender with the squid legs being so tender and immersed in its own flavor. *chefs kiss. The outdoor seating was pleasant and the over experience was one of a perfect summer evening meal.

Best paella I've ever had. Excellent food in a beautiful restaurant in gorgeous McMinville. We also ordered the scallops with romesco, bread and olive oil, mushrooms, and grilled octopus. All were excellent. The grilled octopus was perfectly cooked, tender with some light char. It simply can't be cooked any better. The scallops were also perfect. The romesco was light and flavorful. And the paella had the perfect balance of seafood and savory from chicken and chorizo. The service was great, unrushed, and the delivery of dishes was spaced well. Great restaurant that we will return to again!

We had a great time at this restaurant it was more than dinner. It's a whole experience. The waitresses was amazing and recommended a bunch of delicious options. Everything was over the top delicious. Their wine list is extensive with many local options as well Spanish options. We will absolutely be back to try more. The scallops were our favorite, but really, you can't go wrong with any of the small plates we had.

First night (and first time) in McMinnville and was craving calories after my long hike at Silver Falls State Park — this did the job! Excellent choices with a great variety of palate satisfaction that left me speechless! My best friend and I order multiple plates to share: Bacon dates / Coffee-dusted flank steak / Lamb skewers / Sautéed-garlic chili shrimp / Sautéed green beans / Fried Brussels sprouts / Piquillo peppers — EXCELLENT food pairings! This place is super relaxing but gets really loud when it’s packed with customers (this would be my only drawback) as it was difficult to have a conversation. Ultimately, if you want great-tasting food and great service…this is the place that will not disappoint! Highly recommend to locals and visitors to put this place as a MUST on their list!

J
Jay C

The rice dish and the shrimp are really really good! I feel like I can eat it over and over again… my friend is really happy about it but I really don’t see anything special here. But definitely worth a try and see if you like it or not since it’s a nice place in small town! —————— come back again and i decided to give it 5 stars since it’s really good for real! Try the damn cheese cake! Not too sweet at all and have great taste!

Delicious! La Rambla was a surprising find during my weekend stay in Oregon. We ordered the house special paella and from the tapas menu, we ordered the crispy pork belly and the coffee dusted grass fed flat iron steak. The paella was on the salty-side, but was definitely flavorful, delicious, and had a full mixed variety of seafood, chicken, and pork. The crispy pork was perfectly crisp without being overcooked and the flat iron steak was mouthwatering. We finished off our dinner with yummy churros, though the ganache that came with it was a little too rich for me (this is just personal preference). The atmosphere was inviting and the staff was friendly and attentive. I'd recommend leaving the kids at home and making this a date night option as the dishes are pricey (worth it though!) and I don't think I saw a kid's menu. They have an extensive wine and port menu and some fun dessert wines/cocktails to try out. La Rambla definitely gets busy, so I would recommend making a reservation on busy evenings.

Whenever I'm back in the Willamette Valley wine region and I have the time to visit McMinnville, I try to arrange a visit to La Rambla. Over the many years it has always been reliable and my recent visit was no exception. I was there on a Sunday evening this time and while not packed, still plenty busy. (I'd booked in advance but there was room to just walk in.) I started with some Patatas Bravas and Calamari and finished with the Coffee Dusted Flat Iron steak. I was pleased with them all.

We went for happy hour and the food was so good that we returned the next day and had some of the same dishes as well as some new ones. Happy hour is 4-6 pm weekdays and not too busy before 5:30, it may be different in the summer. We had great service from Dana and Nokia. We had sangria- really tasty and beer. The goat cheese is great as well as the shrimp (2 orders each day), artichokes and mushrooms. We also liked the patatas bravado, hummus, battered green beans and the empanadas. We ran out of room before we ran out of desire to try more things. Excellent value.

We had a great lunch here. The tapa portions are fairly big so order light! We ordered way too many, but they were all delicious.

Tapas are good, but very small so not filling. Those are best as an appetizer, in my opinion. I prefer the full dinner dishes or occasional special multi course meal. Delicious food and great atmosphere. I highly recommend making reservations.

Went here for the first time with my fiance for Valentine's day. The ambiance was relaxing, romantic and elegant. Waitresses were very sweet and accommodating. Wait time was a bit long because it was busy but we sipped on wine and just enjoyed our evening. My fiance ordered the steak with vegetables and I ordered the grilled octopus with potatoes, orange and whipped feta. It was DELICIOUS. I tried to savor each bite. His steak was cooked to perfection. I really wish we could have tipped more. We will definitely come back.

It is very difficult to find a place to eat, on a Tuesday at 9pm. Despite the fact that the kitchen was about to close, they welcomed us with a smile. Menu is traditional Spanish tapas with some special twists. The aioli which was served with the asparagus was deliciously creamy and made a perfect trio with the hazelnuts. We also enjoyed the lamb shishs and the coffee iron steak. Highly recommended.

10/10 experience and everything we had was delicious. We split 5 tapas for 2 people and it was a fun meal with a lot of variety and filling! Highlights were the steak empanadas and the fried Brussels sprouts.

I was visiting McMinnville on a work trip and I went to La Rambla for dinner and it was fantastic. I had the coffee dusted steak, the lamb skewers, the Brussel sprouts, and the pork belly. Everything tasted so great! The flavor combinations with the meat and the sauces was perfect. The Brussel sprouts were crunchy with just a perfect amount of char. I definitely recommend La Rambla if you're in McMinnville. You won't be disappointed.

I didn’t even think I liked paella before I came here. I had only had bad paella before I guess! Everything here was extremely good. Definitely get the paella, Spanish coffee, the bacon dates, octopus, everything we tried was good. Have a large wine menu but also great cocktails. On a row of restaurants but this is a standout!

Hailey L.H.

La Rambla is a favorite of ours for date night, but this last weekend we went with a group for the first time. The tapas style meals are great for sharing over cocktails or wine. The drink menu is extensive and impressive. Halle was our server, she was incredibly attentive and made our night celebrating absolutely spectacular. My favorite dishes are the grilled octopus, bacon wrapped dates and pork croquetas. Our large party was very happy with our experience at La Rambla. I highly recommend this restaurant - it is truly a gem in McMinnville!

I love this. We ate all vegetarian options here, and loved them all. The large veggie paella was more than plenty for 4, when we also had two tapas plates to share beforehand as well as olives and bread/oil. Super nice service, beautiful interior, and we ate for under $20 each with all the stuff we shared. Also, make sure you get the fresh churros for dessert. So good! I'll definitely be back.

I love this place. It is expensive but worth every penny. Plus the waitress went back to talk to the chef to see if there was cinnamon in anything so I didn't order it (Deadly allergic). I recommend this restaurant if you want an amazing date night.

Incredibly good!! I was lucky to secure a small, outside, two-top table shortly after they opened. I didn't make a reservation, but recommend you do. Staff was extremely nice in accommodating me. Within a minute, a server was at my table to help me. Rachelle took great care of me and was super friendly. She provided great recommendations, and provided great service. I love Tapas, and they certainly have a wide selection of items to choose from. I started off with the fried green beans, which were perfectly cooked, and accompanied by a thick, garlic aioli that was amazing in tune with the crust and snap of the beans. My next course was Pork Croquets, insanely good, and the little pepper that came with it was intense and delicious. Last course was impeccable grilled octopus. It was a very generous amount of pristinely cooked octopus, with grilled potatoes, and vegetables. It was $21., but it was worth it. I've paid a few dollars less and received significantly less at other restaurants. You will receive a quality portion here. Concluded my meal with a Spanish Coffee Drink. It was delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant, and this server.

First impression: classy. Love the tapas, especially the Patatas Bravas. Veggie Paella was excellent. And haven't had churros this good outside of Spain. We had excellent service. Appreciate the decor and temperature (cool and comfortable, not freezing).

Some of the best food in downtown. If you're visiting is a must have. The bartenders are amazing.. mixing some amazing cocktails. Plates are small and a little pricey. But very yummy.

Wonderful experience! Terrific wine list, cocktails were unique and tasty, service was excellent (believe we had the wife of a manager or chef), food was stellar. Wish we had room for dessert!

Perfect date night. Lively atmosphere. Highly recommend calling ahead and reserving a table! Friendly staff make it even more enjoyable. You can feel free to dress casually or formally, the setting allows for either. Lots of gluten free options, including desserts!! Overall loved the food, atmosphere, and wine selection. The location is also a plus if you enjoy a picturesque street with your classic small town Main Street vibe, complete with trees covered in twinkle lights.

Food was delicious and the presentation was better than most tapas places. Went in with high hopes based on reviews but we were surprised how good it was. Our server helped us choose options based on likes and dislikes and brought them out with good pacing. Haven't enjoyed octopus this much since our last trip to Italy. Flatiron steak is often tough when cooked rare but this was flavorful with it's coffee dusting. Even the shrimp - often over cooked and forgettable was delightful with garlic aoli and spice. Expected to pay much more for food prepared this well.

La Rambla hits the mark in every category, plus they stay open until 10:00 on Saturday. The atmosphere is electric inside and very relaxing outside (an option for whatever the mood).

Lovely dinner. Perfectly dim lighting, background music set to just the right volume. Relaxed & stylish dining room. Friendly & attentive service. We made a meal of tapas plates. We started with the cabrales cheese, which came with crunchy almonds, honey, pickled onions and a plate of bread with olive oil. Heaven. We almost ordered another it was so wonderful, although the pickled onions need the vinegar in the brine dialed back. I eat pickled red onions a few times a week, and these were one note & harsh. We also had the steamed manila clams, the empanadas, and the sauteed garlic chili shrimp. The clams were great, the empanadas flavorful and nicely browned, but the shrimp-although cooked absolutely perfectly, needed more flavor. Just a little bland. We really could not even taste garlic-the sauce was more like a plain mayo. We ended with churros. They were so close to great, but they needed to be cooked a little longer. The very ends were crispy, but the middle was too soft, and the orange chocolate sauce had too much orange oil/extract. I think the orange overwhelms the churro. A plain very bitter chocolate with whipped cream would complement better. I sound very critical, but overall, the meal was really, really superb, and I would absolutely go back if we go to McMinville again.

Our first time here and so yummy!!! We kept ordering food even though we weren't hungry. Just to try more things. Service was amazing and the atmosphere is great. We will definitely return.

We had an excellent dining experience. We ordered several different tapas, including grilled octopus, calamari, lamb skewers, empanadas, Brussels sprouts, and others. They have an extensive wine list that includes several Spanish reds. The food was excellent, the wait staff attentive, and the atmosphere pleasant.

Wow, what a find in McMinnville! Everything was just great. The bartender was awesome…friendly and so helpful with recommendations when we were torn between different dishes. We only tried their tapas and enjoyed local wine. Next time we’ll be sure to try the paella.

Try the happy hour menu...very authentic and delicious food. Eat at the bar where you will be met with courteous staff. It is a process so take time enjoying each tapa while sipping your Sangria. (They do have very well stocked bar as well)

Why do I seem to locate the most delicious foods in Oregon? Not only did everything taste delicious and fresh cooked perfectly but across the street is the cutest grocery store that sells organic delicious food, drinks, and snack. But we will review them later *=* Back to the restaurant. Service was nice, for point price of food here, it would have been great if the server had asked if we wanted a refill on any of our drinks or if we needed anything else besides cleaning up our plates every chance they got when we were all still eating but resting between bites. I could loudly overheard the bartender and our server make a comment about my drink order. One other thing that was strange for us was how long it took someone to come over to get a drink order, while we looked over the menu. There were two servers and only two tables being occupied in the entire restaurant when we arrived since they had just opened. Towards the end of our dinner, the restaurant front manager came out. His name is Justin. Very nice person, asked how are meals and of everything was satisfactory for us. Now I could have mentioned the small little weird things but what mattered to me the most was spending time with my family. So maybe I might return or maybe not. Either way the restaurant itself was great! Food excellent but voicing your opinions regarding how people want their drinks or food when it is coming out of their own wallet should not be a topic for open discussion when the ordering person can hear the whole conversation. Justin please speak with your staff regarding timing. What is an appropriate length of time to allow guests to sit at a table. After watching two out of three servers walk past us so often I looked over at my spouse and wondered if we should find a different restaurant. So many layers, but thank you reader for sticking it out with me. Not sure why the little hiccup's happened but either way for a $217 bill and $30 tip service should have been better. This is just my own personal experience and opinion. Please check them out for yourself because everything we eat and drink was delicious. Mainly the front house issues, and by the way I also use to be a server so I come from a different culture when dining.

Stopped in on whim because every other restaurant in town had huge wait times and lines due to the ufo event over the weekend. I am so glad we did. Drinks were great, food was incredible, service was delightful. We were immediately seated with no wait. Everything we had was great. Highly recommend the steak empanadas!

Definitely make reservations. We were lucky to get a table after the restaurant called and couldn't reach someone who had made a reservation. Staff were friendly and efficient. Staff wore masks. Customers have to wear masks until seated. Food was delicious! Looking forward to trying more dishes.

Spanish restaurant with tapas and other menu items. Dishes were well presented, but could use a touch more flair in their flavours to earn five stars. Very good nonetheless and perhaps we were simply there on an off day.

We have been here a number of times and it does not disappoint. Great food and drinks. While there is a decent amount of gluten free options, they should add GF sourdough and a GF beer. I wish it was easier to find a table. Even reservations tend to be hard to come by unless it is the first or last times of the day when things are just getting started or slow down a tiny bit.

Food took a long time to get out, and when it did, it was room temp. I love octopus, so I was suprised to see it here. Sadly it came out room temp which isn't the best. The potatoes were cold as well. After our first round of drinks, it took a long time to order another round. I get it, the place was busy and it was a Saturday evening. I'm not one to send food back, especially when it took so long to get to us. This is my second time here, so something brought me back. But sadly this might be my last..

The tapas were for the most part so so with none having special or memorable characteristics. The individual portions were typical of other such restaurants visited in the past. Servers were exceptional especially in dealing with a large number of clients. The atmosphere was visually pleasing but very noisy making conversation with dinner mates at times impossible.

l
lawrence schacht

Thursday night and we (six) were there 6:00-8:30 with a reservation. Restaurant and bar were full the whole time. The noise level was excruciating as everyone talked still louder trying to be heard. Very discouraging. Server was slow (from arrival and drinks ordering until we chased her down to come back for our food order was one hour). Food was then served promptly from the kitchen, though, and all our dishes were excellent. The bacon-wrapped dates were very small and a bit over-priced, $12 for four pieces. We’re hesitant to return for another night’s test.

I waited a few weeks because I really was torn on whether to write this review. Firstly, the food was absolutely amazing. I didn't try a single dish that I thought could have been done better, and the drinks were on point. Food wise, the worst part was not having enough room in my stomach to eat absolutely everything on the menu. The service on the other hand was atrocious. The server was awkward at best, and we had 20 to 25 minutes at a time where we had nothing on the table, waiting for tapas, a drink or even water or coffee to come to our table. He forgot my drink, (and commented on forgetting it) three times when he visited the table, and after one of the long periods of waiting for our food, our food arrived cold, so the kitchen clearly had it ready and waiting. When we got our check we waited another 20 minutes until another server kindly came and got our card, went back, and put it in our original server's hands so we could finally leave. Maybe it was his first shift, I'm not sure. But I hope he finds his rhythm and wish him the best, because he sure seemed really stressed out. Will we come back? Oh yes, absolutely. The food is great and well worth coming back for. But if we're seated in his section again we will kindly ask to be moved, for sure.

This restaurant surprised me, but maybe we just ordered wrong. The wine selection has a nice mix of local and international and our server brought me two wines to taste before ordering. I didn't ask for this, and it was appreciated. The beet salad was solid, but things went downhill after that. The steak empanadas were tiny and if I hadn't seen "steak" in the description, I wouldn't have known there was meat in them. They also added an odd sweet glaze on the pastry. Next up was the calamari. Undersized and kind of lifeless. It was cooked well and the sauce was okay. My wife tasted a strong cumin flavor and passed. Last was the sauteed mushrooms. They were just to rich for us and we didn't finish them. Someone next to us ordered the paella, which looks like it would have been a better call. The wait for paella is 45 minutes, but I think time-wise that would have been a better bet too. Service between our courses was way too long. Sorry for the "meh" review, but just calling it as I saw it.

La Rambla – McMinnville (3rd Street) We traveled from Beaverton with high expectations to try authentic Spanish food. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, nice tables, prompt service, and a great wine selection. Everything started out well. We ordered pork croquettes as an appetizer. They were crispy, but excessively spicy, which is not typical of traditional Spanish croquettes. They were acceptable, but not what one would expect. The main disappointment was the paella. Visually, it looked elegant and well presented, but once we started eating, it became clear that this was not a Spanish paella. A proper paella is meant to highlight seafood flavors and is built on a carefully prepared seafood stock (fumet), which gives the dish depth and balance. This paella completely lacked that foundation, resulting in no real flavor of the sea and no harmony in the dish. The rice was thick and heavy, unpleasant on the palate, and the dish was overwhelmed with spicy red paprika, with no noticeable saffron. The flavors were strong and dominating, resembling a Mexican-style seasoned rice rather than Spanish cuisine. Paella is not a spicy dish. If a diner wishes to add heat or lemon, that should be a personal choice, not an inherent characteristic of the recipe. The dish included only a few shrimp, some shellfish, very small amounts of chorizo, and a piece of chicken heavily coated in red paprika, which further reinforced the impression that this was not a traditional paella. We shared our concerns, and the staff was respectful and open, which we appreciated. However, it is disappointing that a restaurant presenting itself as Spanish fails on one of the most iconic dishes of Spanish cuisine. After this experience, I have no intention of making the trip from Beaverton again. For me, it’s not worth it.
