Our first time at Bubbles was this week and our children loved it! Our waitress was very friendly, the food was great, and the milkshakes we had on the way out were some of the best I've ever had!

At Bubbles Restaurant the food was great and enormous portions. I had the fried chicken which came with salad or soup, 4 pieces of chicken, french fries, and corn on the cob. The waitresses are always friendly.

Absolutely loved this restaurant! Was highly recommended by a friend of mine and am so glad we stopped by. Breakfast was delicious and we even ordered dessert and lunch to go. Very friendly and helpful staff, really make you feel like you're at home here with the atmosphere. A little bit of a drive from where I'm from but I'd be happy to stop by again in the future :)

I have fond memorie's of ur Resturant & ur awesome ice cream from when I was a kid over 40ty yr's ago going their with my parent's. It was a treat for us comming from Schuylerville on a Sunday Ride. I would recommend anyone to go there it's worth the trip and they have awesome food ice cream & service from the wait staff & kitchen. Thank you for making our visit there enjoyable. We just love it and will come back again soon.

What a treasure! An old fashioned diner with excellent food. I had the hot open faced roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy. The gravy was beyond description- rich and full of flavor. I used to go there for ice cream and breakfast, but the lunch made this an all around place to go eat.

A great area restaurant that serves breakfast all day along with chicken and dinner. Even the kids menu had plenty of choices. I ordered the Bubbles Hometown burger and I wasn't disappointed! Cheddar cheese, peppers, and onions on a nice warm fluffy roll. O added onions for an additional cost. Beer battered !! Hope I'll have room for some dessert.

Always a great meal served here at very reasonable prices. The staff is friendly and always willing to go the extra mile to please you. The food is excellent and the menu is full. If you don't see it on the menu, Ask! Been here numerous times with a party of 2 to 15+ and always have walked away very satisfied with the food and staff.

We went here for the first time not long ago. While I enjoyed the food very much, the stand out attraction is the staff. The ladies who were on that night are wonderful and welcoming. They really made us feel welcome and taken care of. I would gladly recommend them to anyone in the area. I look forward to going back.

Awesome Friendly Service , Amazingly Delicious Food 🥘 including awesome homemade desserts and it’s along side a beautiful drive by the river, what more could you ask for??? We have been a couple of times and one was as excellent as the next. Next we are going to come in for breakfast, totally looking forward to that.

Absolutely loved this place. First we met an awesome waitress (Tara) who was very knowledgeable and helpful with everything on the menu. The environment was friendly and warm. The food was absolutely perfect in every way. We were even able to sit in the outdoor area afterward and have a cone with our dog. Thank you bubbles and Tara for making our experience here so nice, we will definitely be back.

Had a fantastic first experience here. Waitress was very kind and the food was delicious. Even when they forgot to put cheese on an order of eggs, they handled it so well. They remade the eggs with the cheese and warmed up the hash browns again as well as giving us extra toast and jelly. Plus, the prices are very fair here. Can't beat good service with lots of delicious food for a good price.

Place is great. Food is so cheap even on doordash I don’t understand how it is profitable. Respect to the owners for keeping prices low.

Having a gluten allergy makes eating out difficult. My options are limited and frequently more expensive if I get a gluten substitution, such as bread. Many restaurants and staff don't understand what gluten free options they have or how food is prepared. Ex: are french fries fried in an exclusive fryer or do you fry all foods in the same fryer? Bubbles not only has gluten free options, they have a good selection at a reasonable price. And their staff are knowledgeable too! For my husband and myself to eat out at most places were looking at $30 to $40, and that's not gourmet cooking. At bubbles I can order food with GF substitutions, my husband can order a double cheeseburger and we total around $20! The staff is also friendly, timely, and the atmosphere of the restaurant is that of a small town diner (which it is) but has that truly community feeling. It's rare that someone doesn't recognize someone, or people are coming together to reconnect. Highly recommend

A gem tucked away in a quaint old river town. The service is great and the food is great. It's an old school diner and it has an awesome ice cream place attached. The cherry on top of this is that Bubbles does not rip you off. They have fair prices and solid portions.

I always love going to Bubble's, especially for breakfast. I had my usual (2 eggs over easy, buttered bagel in place of toast, bacon and home fries).. I honestly don't remember what he had but you get what you pay for and more with the portion sizing. Always has the down to earth, small town (well Mechanicville is) feel with smiling faces and very friendly wait staff.

Great food, great service! The food was great! The portions were large, but way more than what you’d expect for your money! I got the pasta alfredo with chicken for $10.50 and it’s about 3-4 meals worth. The food itself was excellent, I highly recommend both the popcorn chicken and pasta alfredo (sauce is thick and rich). Not to mention the service! The wait staff were amazing, so nice and beyond welcoming. I got great vibes and the atmosphere is really like that diner you hung out at with friends as a kid!

It's been a strange year. Vacations are just not what we would like nor is eating out what we are used to. Our vacation we decided to try out an RV at a nearby campground but didn't want to make a big deal about cooking. where to go? Campground suggested many options, "Bubbles" being one of them. Social distancing and masks were ready to serve customers. This particular day the hurricane/tropical storm were rolling in so I opted for a comfort food of a hot roast beef sandwich. SO had a French dip which he has said was really good. Both meals just seemed larger than expected and hit the spot. As usual though, meal was large enough to put off dessert. Parking is reasonable, servers were personable, prices were good. Since this is a local favorite, we'll just have to return to try the ice cream.

This place is great its been around years and a lot of child hood memories of family dinners here with my mom dad and brother going up to see my grand parents in still water. They have the best quality food and best prices and quantity and really best family place to go. Not to mention its one of the only really old school restaurants left from back in the day. It's 100% best value and diner family night out

Great local place for classic diner favorites. The selection is awesome. Breakfast items like French toast, burgers, sandwiches and more. We had the French toast, liver and onions, minu dogs with the works, curly fries and meatball sub. Incredibly delicious.

Friendly service with great food! This diner has a very cozy atmosphere and wide menu selection. There is also a convenient ice cream service window outside if you just want to stop by for a sweet treat.

Your classic diner experience. The folks know each other, the coffee is nostaligically terrible and the dishes are low priced and typical of a small diner. Stick to your classic diner foods (burgers, clubs, etc) and this place will serve you well.

Fast diner food being served for as long as I can remember. I always stop in for breakfast when I'm in the area. Food is hot, good and you don't wait long. Summer time you have to get an ice cream cone. Be careful when you park to back in . . . . Pulling out on road can be a challenge.

I hadn't been here in years and I was pleasantly surprised. The food was very good the service was very good it's not a place I would go to on a weekly basis but when you don't know what you want for dinner it's a great stop

Great home cooked diner food!

Food was pretty decent. First time ever going there. We didnt get to try any ice cream which we might try when its warmer but I had a veggie burger and my fiance had something with gravy cant remember what it was exactly but they were out of chicken and bisquits which he originally wanted. The service was not very good at all, took forever for drinks and they only had 3 other tables in the place. If you're thinking about going here try it, its definitely diner style. Dont base my bad service experience because you could get someone who is more efficient.

This cute restaurant is like, "Where Everybody Knows Your Name". I much rather sit away from the bar and kitchen setting area. They 3 TVs, above by the bar area. The employees are down to earth. The food is not bad, a typical old time diner.

The ice cream is the star of the show, but we had dinner there too. My wife had a nice pulled-pork sandwich, while I had the signature "fish fry": several pieces of fried fish in a hot dog bun, which was tasty, cheap, and not at all greasy. Friendly service.

Great little place! Food is a little slow to come out but the quality is there for the price point. I got the chicken Parm special on Saturday and the chicken was good, but the sauce had hardly any flavor like it was watered down, which most likely it was (I used to be a cook for 14 years and I know that flavor anywhere). The ice cream is fantastic and the cookie ice cream sandwich is massive! All in all, service can be slow but if you're looking to fill up for cheap this place is good.

Busy place, but good prices, hash brown potatoes could have been cooked more, quantity was very good.

Their portions are generous and appetizing. Seating consists of counter, tables and booths. Staff is friendly. Atmosphere is reminiscent of diners from the 60's, nice. They also have outside ice cream service for cones, sundae's, shakes and malts.

I only had blueberry pie with whipped cream and so my review doesn't capture the breadth of Bubble's Restaurant offerings. The pie on the other hand was average - a decent crust, but the pie filling was too sweet and syrupy. Service was friendly and attentive. The location was clean, but uncomfortably warm which may be the transition from spring to summer HVAC settings. Plenty of parking. Will head back for a more comprehensive review of breakfast and lunch offerings.

I was impressed with the cleanliness of the diner, and the food was excellent. I had the best scallops I've had in a long time, including many at much pricier establishments. The salad and mashed potatoes were also very good, and they make their own ice cream and a terrific hot fudge sundae. It seems like they actually cook here, rather than using restaurant supplier provided dishes. The service was friendly and good.

Bubbles has been a part of mechanicsville for yonks, and it's good to see it still open. The food is still very good.

OK, orders a make your own breakfast on Door Dash, while most the food is good, for some reason the hash I order came out like mush and didn't taste good. Over seasond and wasn't the normal hash i have ordered from them before.

Dinner was good, prices were great. Breakfast served all day. Ice cream stand on site too. When we were there the service way horrendously show. But they had a sign up saying how short staffed they were so definitely just rolled with it. Despite it all, staff was friendly. Big plus. Often the stress of being understaffed can cause tempers to flare. Have definitely been back several times for lunch, dinner and even breakfast. Service has improved since COVID restrictions ended, though it still depends on which server you get.

The food was good. The table service was great at the start, but after the food was delivered it felt as if we were invisible until it was time to drop off the bill. How unfortunate, I would of gotten dessert and coffee but when I am ignore I will take business else where.

When this place isn’t busy it’s the best! Great service and food is excellent. I love their french onion and hot turkey sandwiches. However, when we have been during busy hours it is chaotic and mediocre. Service is horrible and often times seems unpleasant. Food comes out cold and seems rushed. Maybe they should put more staff on during the weekends?

We had to get our own menus and took a while to place an order. Once order was placed food came out quick. Our empty plates were never taken by waitress before we left. Delicious food made up for less than pleasing service.

Waitress was a phenomenal Rockstar literally loved her! Food on the other hand was meh at best. Ordered basic eggs over hard and toast eggs were undercooked the first time. Sent back they literally threw them on the grill and sent them back still undercooked. I would not recommend nor will I be back. Might try ice cream but reviews made me iffy on that too. Front staff 10/10 kitchen no thanks. Maybe they can hire some better cooks.

Prices are great, the servers are friendly, and it's a nice place to have a quick meal if you're not in the mood for cooking or spending all your money. The food is mediocre but fine for the price.

I can't comment on atmosphere as I got take out, but the staff was very attentive. Let me start off by saying that the food was hot, so it was fresh, which is nice, but other than that, just drab. The fries had no salt on them. Burger was a frozen patty that was okay quality wise. The sauteed veg that came on one of the burgers we ordered was previously canned, no taste. The burger had no seasoning on it. Overall, if you're looking for an place that is a little better quality than McDonald's, stop here. Otherwise, I'd look somewhere else.

Today was the third time I’ve been and each time I’ve ordered the hot turkey sandwich as I’ve enjoyed it (though each time it’s needed lots of salt and pepper and I never add salt to my food) and tend to stick with what I like. Two of my sons got burgers- one took two bites of his and then I had to season it and reheat it at home and he ate it no problem, both asked for salt on their fries as there was none at all. Chicken tenders were good. Service was good. The busboys body odor repeatedly interrupted our meal though and it’s a shame that someone on the staff can’t speak up to him about it as I’m sure they’ll lose patronage over it as we all wanted to get up and walk out.

Soup quality not there. Manhattan Clam Chowder Tasted like campbell's vegetable soup with a can of clams thrown in it. It was awful. The Ruben sandwich was good as was the fresh potato salad. Guest had Mac n cheese and French fries both very tasty and fresh. They have really good fries. Service was, prompt, friendly and very efficient. We enjoyed our visit.

Went today as we do most Fridays same order every Friday. Told today special we order fir lunch no longer available, it went up $3.00 , and the basket of onion rings we get every week had 5 onion rings for $5.00 that's a little expensive $1.00 a ring, not the Bubbles we usually get, very disappointed..

Recently moved back in area and was eager to go to one of my favorite places to eat. Was there 16 mins b4 got a menu and another 12mins b4 my order was taken. When I saw the waitress from across the room, I looked at my watch, then saw her go to the kitchen. Then she came over and apologize and said she forgot to turn in my order !!! Finally got my order and part of it tasted like it was cooked in extremely old oil. I did get 10% off my bill. Very disappointed, will think long and hard about going back. Hope that was an exception as I have always had excellent service and food in the past.

The staff is friendly but the soft ice cream is not good. It tastes cheap and is not creamy or flavorful.

One waitress has a major attitude problem. Tall blonde, Sue I believe Never smiles, extremely rude. They speak horribly about people coming in to the restaurant and while they are seated eating as well while other patrons can clearly hear. Italian toast is super tiny and should not have been served to begin with, corned beef hash is likened to actual dog food, the seats and salt, pepper, sugar containers are filthy, don’t even think about trying to share a meal with a friend……there is an actual extra plate charge The outside needs to be painted, ice cream cone needs to be painted, the entire place needs a major refreshing as it is one of the first things you see coming into the city I’d rather go to the Ugly Rooster and pay a bit more than be treated poorly by a waitress…..who chose to be there and do this particular job

Im not one to complain about a place much, especially here but Ive been going here for my whole life. I used to love the service and food there! Recently when ive been up in the state, i havent been wanting to go. Last time we went there we had a very very unfriendly waitress. I’m not sure of her name but she’s an older woman with possibly white or blonde hair. The last couple times i’ve been in there she’s been extremely unpolite to the point I feel like a burden when I ask for things. Also, this morning I called to make a take out order and she answered the phone and I was saying what I want and she asked “eggs” so i turned to my fiancé to ask how he wanted his eggs made and she said “Cmon we are very busy” so i ended up just ending the call. But the food is still good and the other waiter is PHENOMENAL!

Disappointed that this place did not live up to the hype. We had breakfast here; vegetarian egg white omelette (tasteless), breakfast skillet (looked pretty good) and another dish (yes, that memorable and it was my dish). The food was average and more expensive than what I expected (lunch dishes are the same prices or less). Coffee was average drip coffee (so, not good) which they did refill. The last 2 times I have ordered my food has been terrible. They put my toast in a hot container so it was mushy and wet my deep fried home fries (RAW) my hash looked like cat excrement. I did not get my cheese on my eggs. It was just all around bad and the hash was like $6 for a tiny side. I will never eat here again the first time I ever went here I got freezer burnt ice cream that was supposed to be a dipped shell cone and I got a dilapidated cone with freezer burnt ice cream and they gave me a clump of frozen shell dip in a ice cream bowl not even on my cone. This place is definitely meant for the locals. I don't recommend ever coming here.

This place used to be great but for the last four times I've been here the food hasn't been as great and the staff isn't what it used to be very disappointed won't be coming here any longer.

A once beloved city diner has decayed into a wretched shell of its former standing in the community. Simple order of “mini hot dogs with the works” (a family favorite quick bite) : USED to be steamed buns , flavorful meat sauce , minced onions and yellow mustard. I received stale buns-clearly hard at the ends, “meat” sauce that was clearly old and dry, with no discernible’flavor’ other than…(week old?)…no mustard, and nearly clear, obv not fresh onions. Wow. How do you ruin something a child could make? Mac salad? If it’s possible to outdo the dogs in sheer disgust-they did it. NO discernible egg presence, NO onion, NO celery-not even salt and pepper??? I mean CMON!!! And for kickers the shell pasta was Wayyyy over cooked! With oddly placed gobs of Mayo-as if they “refreshed” an old bath. I’m not kidding. Do you serve this to your grandkids? Oh-and a lovely parting gift-I had the runs 5-6 hours after eating-it HAD to be this horror show. Stay AWAY!! If you lower yourself to this gross food maybe try McDonald’s. So sad. A once proud gathering place of citizens of a tiny city is now horrid and disgusting. And sadly, a microcosm of the city itself-a once proud city of laborers and businesses and farming communities-which now has allowed its decaying sidewalks to become weed-infested. Potholes abound, boarded up business frontages, no new businesses except the “cash for gold”, used clothing, tattoo parlors and run down taverns that once actually attracted customers from out of town. Shame on the elected officials of Mechanicville! And someone with one OUNCE of passion for culinary PLEASE buy out this decaying mess.

Went with family to after child's graduation to celebrate. We were given dirty silverware food stuck on it. Had to ask for clean. My order wasn't right but was corrected without me asking immediately. I ate half my sausage and peppers sandwich and became terribly ill. Rushed to bathroom . Finally returned to table and immediately rushed back to bathroom. I was sick with horrible stomach pains nausea vomiting diarrhea for 2 days also severe headache for 3 days. Out of the 4 of us I was the only one who got food poisoning. I would not recommend this place based on my own experience.

Worst hamburger in the Capital District. Ordered a rare hamburger on a bed of lettuce.I received it well done on withered lettuce. Noisy slamming of dishes. If you want to waste your time and money, this is your place. Stay away always.

This the 3rd time my wife and I been back there in 4 months. And lately the people that work there are always complaining 🙄 about there long days and How much they hate working there. And we go to get seated and it's like 20 minutes before you see your waiter again. I ordered the mashed taters with Dark Gravey and the mashed taters were hard and kinda cold and tasted like cardboard and the Mac and cheese was so white and under cooked and tasted so blah like no taste at all. Lately the service has gone Downhill bad

Absolutely a horrible place to eat, the food they serve isn't fresh it is days old and makes people sick. The service is horrible as well, the girls are rude and give everyone a terrible attitude. The owner does not care for his customers. It's a shame to see a place iv grown up with go down hill like it has. This use to be a well loved small town restaurant.
