Yeobo Darling is an absolute standout and one of those rare dining experiences where you know from the very first bites that you are in for something special. The small bites kicked off our meal perfectly and immediately set our palates up for an incredible journey. The wagyu beef tartare tartlet, chicken liver with pineapple and cilantro, and the Santa Barbara sea urchin with potato and kombu were exceptional starters. Each dish was thoughtful, balanced, and layered with flavor. After those first bites, we knew we were in very good hands. Next came a lineup that continued to impress at every turn. The amberjack with cabbage and finger lime, lu rou lasagna, smoked duck risotto, and the Yeobo Darling chicken wings each delivered a unique experience. My personal favorites at this point were the wagyu beef tartare, Santa Barbara sea urchin, lu rou lasagna, and the duck risotto. Bold, comforting, and deeply satisfying. One surprise highlight was the chilled perilla somyum noodles, which we topped with black truffle. I am not typically a cold noodle fan, but this dish completely changed my mind and I would absolutely order it again. To round out the savory portion of the meal, we finished with the anchovy rice featuring beautifully crispy anchovies that added an unexpected and delightful crunch, followed by the Yeobo Darling wagyu kalbi and banchan. The chef also sent out ssam greens, which helped balance everything out perfectly and brought the meal full circle. Dessert was the perfect finale. We tried three items, with the Karat cake being my clear favorite. As someone who takes carrot cake seriously, pairing it with soft serve milk cream and nut brittle was outstanding, and I polished off most of it myself. The sugary twist donut paired with soft serve sealed the deal and left me fully satisfied with my cheat meal. Beyond the food, the service truly elevated the entire experience. Miranda was wonderful upon entry, and Chef Michael even came out to shave black truffle tableside for us. A special highlight was Linda, our server and cocktail specialist. She was incredibly genuine, easy to talk to, and deeply knowledgeable about the menu. Her recommendations and conversation made the night feel warm, personal, and memorable. Yeobo Darling delivered incredible food, exceptional service, and the kind of experience that makes for a perfect date night. We will absolutely be back to explore more of the menu and revisit a few favorites.

Yeobo darling is a romantic nicer dining restaurant. You needa book the place with bookings opening 1 month in advanced. Overall vibes are low lighting with a korean taiwanese fusion place With the mixed reviews we definitely catered towards what was good Sea urchin - fantastic taste and easily melted in your mouth Honey butternut custard - silky smooth texture with great flavor mixing between squash, potatoes, and honey Scallion croissant - definitely everyone’s favorite and highly recommend. Very unique texture and taste. The pork floss was hard to taste but still good! Smoked duck risotto - this tasted very standard but was still pretty good with good smoky duck flavor Perillay Somyun - classic korean blended tofu noodles, which you can’t go wrong with but still overall good Natural oasis - very neutral tea cocktail that is very refreshing and a good palette cleanser for the meal Guava spritz - pretty good overall flavor for the non alcoholic Server was very attentive and made sure our needa were met! Parking is easy in the lot behind it Overall would recommend, for birthday dinners!

What a memorable experience from start to finish! The space is cozy and elegant, with a warm, inviting atmosphere. Service was truly top-notch: attentive, knowledgeable, and seamless from start to finish. Every dish was crafted with thought and presented beautifully. We started with the sweet petite oysters and the Kaluga hybrid caviar. The caviar dish was rich and buttery, each bite had just the right balance of sweetness and tanginess, thanks to the sweet potato and beurre blanc. The sweet petite oysters are served with a delicate ice made from white kimchi liquid. This was unique, refreshing, and layered in flavor. The scallion croissant was delicious and a must try. We also enjoyed the chicken wings (crispy and flavorful) and the lu rou lasagna. The galbi was so tasty, tender and flavorful and great to pair with the crispy rice with anchovies. The tilefish dish ended up being the unexpected favorite for me - perfectly crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and packed with flavor. We ordered all of their desserts, and every single of them were good, but the Karat cake was the star. It is hands down the best carrot cake I have ever eaten – moist and unforgettable. Don’t forget to try their soju cocktails. They are creative, refreshing, and the perfect complement to the food.

My husband and I were just here for our 2 years anniversary. They take walk ins for bar seating and there are 4 bar seats available at a time. Definitely lived up to the hype. Flavors are very delicate, not overpowering at all. If you are looking for something extremely flavorful then this may not be a good fit. However, if you prefer lighter and refreshing profile, Yeobo Darling is the place for you. The sea urchin appetizer and the scallion croissants are MUST HAVEs. The attention to service here is outstanding. Masha was helping us throughout the night and was extremely sweet and attentive. We got to learn about her story and vice versa - lots of nice conversations. Overall, 100% would come back and hopefully to see Masha again! :)

we had an amazing time at yeobo, darling! the food was incredible, the decor is gorgeous and our server (Angela) was so sweet. highlights - honeynut squash appetizer ‼️‼️‼️ - duck risotto - chicken wings - wagyu galbi - natural oasis cocktail - carrot cake dessert the honeynut squash appetizer was truly out of this world. every bite i took made me want 700 more bites. the sweet honeynut squash balanced so well with the savory fishy roe. loved it so much. the duck risotto was super rich and generous with duck. for the price i would say this one was really worth it. the wagyu galbi was incredible but $76 is frankly a pretty steep price point. it was really tasty but very much a “treat yourself” day item. the sablefish was so cozy and flavorful and came with nice sides like mushroom, fish cake and daikon. a little reminiscent of oden. the natural oasis cocktail was such a hit. every sip unveiled more and more oolong flavor. apparently the cocktails were all designed by the bartender at Bar Mood in taipei. normally carrot cake is just ok for me but this one was not too sweet, super light and fluffy and i think the cream cheese frosting might’ve been whipped. it was super airy. loved it!

The food at Yeobo, Darling is innovative, fun, and overall yummy. I love how it draws heavily from Taiwanese and Korean flavors and food traditions. I would say that a couple of the dishes were a bit overhyped but overall, I was really happy with our menu. The service here is spectacular - 3 Michelin star quality. And the interior decor and ambiance was wonderful - from the wood furniture and warm lighting to the hidden drawers of utensils tucked under every table. Our menu consisted of: 1) Chicken liver - Creamy chicken liver with pineapple and cilantro. Soooo much umami packed into this little tartlet! So delicious! One of my top faves here 2) Waygu beef tartare - Solid tartare served in a mini tart. Clean, fresh, savory and surprisingly light 3) Amberjack - Fresh, raw amberjack rolled with cabbage, kelp, and finger lime, bathed in a kim chi spicy sauce. This dish was solid but not outstanding. The heat of the kim chi overpowered the simplicity of the fish 4) Smoked duck risotto - served with Korean zucchini and perilla. This was another solid dish. Super hearty. I loved the spicy heat 5) Waygu kalbi - Wow, I didn't know you could could cook kalbi to be this tender! Perfectly marinated and melt in your mouth OMG delicious! 6) Scallion croissant with pork floss butter. Not quite bread, not quite a croissant, this dish sat somewhere in between. Eating this was like taking a bite out of a fluffy cloud infused with savory scallions. Super creative and super yummy. The butter was presented as mobius strips of shaved ribbon, sprinkled with dried pork floss on top. 7) Karat Cake - Their signature carrot cake was light, fluffy, and not overly sweet. As someone who's not big into dessert, I thought this dish was perfect. Their cocktails were fantastic too. The yuzu smash was my favorite - super refreshing and citrusy.

First off this is mid tier high end. So it fits the occasional life celebration. You will easily spend $100 a person. It hits. Money is well spent if you’re looking for taste and quality. Money misses if you’re looking to consume large amounts of food like you starved yourself hoping to pig out. Go find a AYCE joint instead. They craft a Taiwanese / Korean fusion menu and it works in its own way beautifully. If you come here hoping for KBBQ also go somewhere else too. Lastly, this joint is chill. You don’t need to penguin or peacock. It’s cozy and comfortable. Have fun and enjoy the meal.

I had a great time here! Upscale and lovely ambiance, with wonderful and great staff as well. Everyone I interacted with was so kind and welcoming! I was able to walk in and get a seat at the bar with no reservation. The food was great, each course was interesting and really peaked my tasting interest. My only complaint is the price—this place is definitely probably meant for a tax bracket higher than mine be prepared to spend $60-$70 per person if not more! However the quality of the food did seem to match the price for me. Definitely recommend trying this place at least once if you ever visit the bay, or have an occasion to celebrate.

One of the most memorable meals we've had in a long time! The vibe struck a perfect balance: comfortable, yet elevated with a modern, refined touch. For a restaurant that's been open only a few weeks, everything ran smoothly. The staff was warm, professional, and knowledgeable. They guided us through the ordering process, suggesting a mix of small, medium, and large plates to share (for two people, their recommendation was around 2-3 small, 2 medium, and 1-2 large dishes). We ended up going heavier on the mediums and were definitely satisfied by the end! We couldn't stop going back to the creamy noodle dish... It came with an airy foam that was light, delicate, and flavorful. The onion bread with pork floss had the perfect contrast: soft and fluffy inside, with a crisp, flaky outer layer. And the morel mushroom soup was fresh and earthy. The most exciting part was the menu. We found ourselves genuinely interested in every dish, curious with how the flavor profiles would work. The fusion of eastern and western flavors felt fresh and intentional, and brought back memories from seeing traditional dishes from our childhood reimagined with creativity and care. We're already looking forward to our next visit.

Everything was delicious, beautiful and innovative!! We desperately wanted to try this restaurant but couldn't get a reservation so we took our chances on a weekday and walked in right when they opened and got 3 seats at the bar! Everything was wonderful, from the elegant service to the lovely dishes. Yes, it's pricey but that's just how things are now, I guess 🤣 Definitely check this place out for a special occasion!

This was one of my most anticipated restaurant openings of the year, and I was lucky to visit shortly after it debuted in June (we could actually get reservations back then)! The overall experience met my expectations, food and cocktails. One standout was the scallion croissant from The Baker Next Door in Redwood City - flaky, buttery, and pull-apart. Served with a rou song (pork floss) butter, it was a delicious tribute to two Taiwanese staples. Another clever twist on a Taiwanese classic was the lu rou lasagna. I grew up eating a lot of lasagna made by my Taiwanese mom, and this version with Taiwanese braised pork brought back memories. Overall, the menu felt more Korean-American than Taiwanese. Highlights included a refreshing amberjack mulhwe (sashimi), chilled perilla somyun (thin, wheat noodles) with a black truffle supplement, and extra tender wagyu galbi. We ended on a sweet note with Meichih’s signature Karat Cake® and a seasonal stone fruit soft serve And I can’t forget the excellent cocktails, created by Nick Wu of Bar Mood, one of Taipei’s best cocktail bars. I’m a fan of theirs, and they did not disappoint here. I especially love delicate tea-based drinks, and many of the soju cocktails featured tea. My favorite was the Natural Oasis, with oolong tea and lemongrass, subtle and balanced.

A Korean Taiwanese modern fusion elevated cuisine in a neighborhood, casual fine dining blanket. For those who remember Maum, you can see the familiar brush strokes. Yeobo Darling provides creative small plates à la carte dining, ok service and questionable value. The food was creative, fun and balanced. Despite mostly ordering items that were heavily recommended to us by multiple people, we were a bit underwhelmed; expected more highlights given the hype, price, and the type of restaurant they are going for. The best dish by far and away was the scallion croissant with rou song butter. Basically, scallion pancakes creatively reimagined with pork floss butter that added a savory component and paired beautifully. This collaboration with the Baker Next Door is honestly worth being sold separately as a to go item. The only thing I wish it had was a bit more scallions on the inside. On the other hand, the lu rou lasagna was even more creative combination but the flavors felt flat and came short of expectations. Would I take this over a solid lu rou or a classic lasagna? Probably not. Would I reorder if came again? No. The chicken wings’ sauce was creative and nicely balanced but par of the KFC course and not distinctive enough. Similarly, by the end of the meal I forgot we even had the oysters with white kimchi and I swear it’s not the Alzheimer’s kicking in extra early, I hope. Their specialty Karat cake was not too sweet and well balanced with unique frosting but not sure it lived up to the insane levels of hype. The kalbi was melt in your mouth delicious and the anchovies rice paired well with it but at the price point you can get the same (or higher) quality meat in many places. Not to undermine the recipe, it was prepared well but it’s hard to mess up a high quality cut. The banchan was a little too neutral and plain to really cut through the deep richness of the meat. Lastly, to end on a high note, the Santa Barbara sea urchin, potato, kombu bite was amazingly delicious. The highlight was absolutely the potato pave which was prepared to perfection and it paired nicely the briny and salty uni. And I expected nothing less for a nearly $30 bite. Even when comparing to high end sushi prices, there are a lot of other bites at that price point I’ll choose before this. And therein lies my dilemma with Yeobo Darling. When you are paying a minimum of $200+ per person to barely feel satiated, you fairly start to compare your experience with others in that bracket and unfortunately that’s where the shortcomings become even more evident. The creativity is there but the flavors, uniqueness and memorability were a bit more shaky. Simply put, the value you’re getting is in question. The service also fell short of expectations for this caliber of restaurant. Yeah it’s a casual fine dining place but I’ve come to expect a lot more in comparison. It already started off shaky with having to wait 15 minutes after our reservation time despite arriving early, next to the door that was seriously leaking in the cold, windy air from the outside; not a very premium experience. Similarly, at our booth table, the windows were leaking cold air the whole time. Being at the corner we also felt like a bit of an afterthought for our server and I was trying to get the attention of the staff a few times throughout the meal to no avail. Thankfully the back waiters were on top of refilling our water but that’s the only part of the service that lived up to expectations. At half or even two-thirds of the price, I’d feel much more positive about the experience because my expectations would be lower. At the caliber they’re aiming for, there were simply too many shortcomings - from the meal, to the service, to the hard product. The competition at that price point is strong and when you come with a lot of hype and swing hard, you better not miss.

Had dinner here with 2 friends and we ordered the honeynut squash, chilled perilla noodles, scallion croissant, galbi, and crispy anchovy rice. Loved the perilla noodles - they were so light, refreshing, and tasted/smelled lightly like green tea. The galbi was so tender and flavorful. Also enjoyed the croissant - it was very crispy and the bottom 1/4 really was like a scallion pancake! I’d skip the rice next time, it wasn’t anything special. The soju cocktails are light, and my favorite was the natural oasis. Great spot for a date night or nice dinner but is on the pricier end.

🛑🛑please read all I came to this restaurant because of the Michelin Guide recognition and the fact that reservations had to be made nearly a month in advance—expectations were high. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to them. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt unwelcoming. The space was extremely crowded, tables were packed tightly together, and the lack of sound insulation made the restaurant uncomfortably loud. On top of that, we were seated right by the entrance, which made the space feel chilly and disrupted the experience even more. For a restaurant at this price point, the ambience was disappointing. The food, however, was a mix of extremes. Some dishes were genuinely outstanding. The squash dish and the scallion croissant were truly special—both incredibly flavorful, thoughtfully textured, and unlike anything I’ve had before. Those two plates were the clear highlights of the night. That said, one dish completely changed how I felt about the restaurant. The lasagna, made with Taiwanese braised pork flavors and green lasagna noodles, was shockingly bad. The flavors clashed in a way that felt unpleasant rather than adventurous, and given the tiny portion size, the price was hard to justify. This dish alone made me certain I wouldn’t return. Service was fine, but not exceptional. It didn’t match the level I’d expect for what we paid. In total, the bill came out to about $340 for two people, including tip. While some of the food was impressive, the portions were extremely small—almost jarringly so—and overall, the value just wasn’t there. In the end, this restaurant offers moments of brilliance, but they don’t outweigh the cost, noise, crowding, and inconsistency. If I were to recommend it at all, I’d suggest only ordering the squash and the scallion croissant—nothing else. *Note to owner: I heard this is a Korean and Taiwanese fusion restaurant, but I saw and tasted more Korean and French fusion. There are a lot of delicious Taiwanese dishes like蚵仔煎,臭豆腐,牛肉麵,三杯雞,台式泡菜,刈包 you could’ve incorporated wonderfully with Korean flavors. I’m disappointed.

The Food After setting notifications on OpenTable for about a month, finally got a reservation to try yeobo, darling. From some pictures, it seems like most dishes are tapas style, so my wife and I order a few dishes to share. We ordered - petite greens, sunflower, citrus, persimmon (salad) - santa barbara sea urchin, potato, konbu - yeobo, darling chicken wings - scallion croissant, rou song butter - hokkaido scallop, black bean, cauliflower - dark chocolate mousse, banana, injeolmi, walnut (dessert) All the dishes were very good and fresh. The petite greens were unique and fitting for the season. The chicken wings were juicy and tasty, acclaimed as one of the favorites. The Scallion Croissant stood out the most for me. It has similarities to a croissant, yet different. But the crunchy crust with a fluffy interior was a nice combination. The Miscellaneous The restaurant was decent sized, with a good amount of seating, though a bit tight together. They open mainly for dinner service, with ambiance dialed to a more intimate setting. Our server was very sincere and attentive, with helpful recommendations. The service of food was quite punctual as well. The menu has different varieties without being overwhelming. Alongside with the food, there is also dessert, beverages, cocktails, and wine. The restaurant gives a fine dining kind of vibe, so one should expect the higher prices. Do note the "optional" Quality of Life surcharge of 6% is included. Though only listed on one side of the beverage and dessert menu, but not on the main menu? 🤔 All in all, the fusion of asian cuisine and experience is very good, and worth the try.

I’d been looking forward to trying Yeobo Darling since we loved Maum, and I was curious about their new concept. Overall, it feels a bit hyped up, but it’s still a nice spot for a date or special night out. Here’s what we ordered: • Scallion Croissant – Came with butter and pork floss. Very unique and tasty, though a bit on the oily side. • Lu Rou Lasagna – Interesting idea, but it really just tasted like regular lasagna. Didn’t quite capture the lu rou flavor. • Wagyu Kalbi – Delicious and full of flavor. Definitely one of the highlights. • Scallops with Cauliflower Sauce – Perfectly cooked and really good balance of flavors. • Chicken Wings – Crispy and solid, just what you’d expect for Korean chicken wings. • Crispy Anchovy Rice – Just okay, nothing special compared to the other dishes. Overall, some hits and some misses, but still an enjoyable experience and worth checking out at least once.

we had a great time, queued up on a weekday night and got in after about an hour of waiting due to a cancellation - how lucky! going with a proper korean meant that the stakes were high — i think the scallops turned out to be our favorite ironically. the kalbi was good but not that special, the hot stone was a nice touch tho keeping each piece warm — the cucumber banchan was really acidic and sweet, i ordered another for $3.50! scallion croissant was aesthetic and quite good, but very greasy especially with butter on top, and wished there were both scallions and rou song to cut the grease a bit and add more flavor — but again, food came hot and the butter melted nicely. the pine nut noods were also a pleasant surprise. i appreciate the attention to detail, especially the heat of each dish when served and the presentation. i think the karat cake was a bit too rich, but yea, not too sweet.

I managed to find reservations on a whim but also can't believe how difficult it was to get a reservation. As for food, surprisingly the chicken wings were what stood out for us. We also really enjoyed the kaluga hybrid caviar. For the chilled perilla somyum, we were unsure of it but enjoyed it towards the end of it. We just wished it actually had more of the perilla flavor. If you like carrot cake, then the karat cake is a must! As for drinks, we tried the Vesper, Yuri Smash, Jasmine Sour and Natural Oasis. Natural Oasis is the only one that really stood out. Scallion croissant: 3.5/5 Darling chicken wings: 5/5 Karat cake:5/5 Kaluga hybrid caviar: 5/5 Chilled perilla somyun: 4/5 Smoked duck porridge: 4/5 The inside is quite cozy but the tables are really close to each other. Our server, Linda, was nice and attentive, checking in to see how the food and drinks were. Overall, we enjoyed our experience and the food but don't think we'll be coming back anytime soon.

Overhyped. Food was mediocre at best. The service was great. Our favorite on the entire table was the caviar by itself lol. Chicken wings - undercooked and the seasoning was just a fancier soy garlic. Seafood tofu stew - i thought fresh seafood should be the bare minimum since we’re right by the ocean? Perhaps the fishy smell is a part of the design. Green onion croissant - sadly the only Taiwanese element on our table was the rou song and a significant portion of it spilled bcz of how it’s presented. I’d suggest folding the rousong into the toast to prevent messy seats. Kalbi - good but one can easily find a cheaper alternative at a kbbq restaurant. Or else slice up a nicely marbled boneless short rib, follow Baek Jongwon’s kalbi recipe, grill it and there you go! Hope to see more Taiwanese element in this “Korean-Taiwanese fusion” cuisine. Simply adding fried basil to your wings and put the soy garlic seasoning on side can be a Taiwanese popcorn chicken - Korean fried chicken fusion. Learned that the chefs are from LA, should’ve known what genuinely good food tastes like. All the best.

The ambiance is beautiful and the service was quick and attentive. But the price for value is weak. It cost over $200 for two people and at that price point I expected more wow in terms of flavour. My favourite was the galbi! I found the kimchi too sour though.

Exec Summary: Overpriced, even for the Bay Area. - Food: If you like and want to immerse more into Asian gastronomy, it's worth a try; if you're already familiar with Asian food, then there's nothing special. We ordered scallion croissant, yeobo darling chicken wings, and yeobo darling kalbi and banchan. They are ALL DELICIOUS, but I might have expected more creativity or thoughts into the food based on the price tag. Scallion Croissant ($24): It deconstructs traditional Taiwanese green onion & pork floss bread into an artistic croissant toast form and pork floss butter spread, which is amazing to see it on a quasi fine dining table. It's delicious but doesn't add too much on top of the original. Even considering the delicacy, expenses, and country differences, I don't believe a 24-fold price increase is justifiable for something that costs only $1 in Taiwan. Chicken Wings ($20): A common dish. Very juicy and has good match in taste with the pepper. Kalbi and Banchan ($76): According to the menu in the restaurant, it's wagyu (didn't take a photo so not sure about the accuracy). We got a total of 16 beef cubes. The portion seems reasonable. However, a significant number of them is pretty rubbery. Both of us had a few cubes that we had to chew on for ~30 sec and decided to swallow it anyways (that's unsafe IMO). TBH I didn't know the price until I saw the bill. I would've NOT ordered this dish if I had known the huge gap between the value of my money and the quality of food. Wine/Tea: No complaints. Omi-tea is really good. - Service: A little bit lukewarm, but that's personal feeling. In general all normal except one thing: When we sat down, the waiter was asking us if we are here for any special event, and I told him we're here for a celebration. There's not even "Congratulations" or anything. He just walked away. And I was like...so why bothered to ask? - We paid $200+ for this meal including ~20% tips. The experience does not have anything that is worth noted. And I'm so traumatized by the price I paid for such poor provision of food. It's fine for friends/family gatherings if you have extra money to make it rain, but I would not recommend choosing this restaurant for special occasions.

I saw reviews about this place on tiktok/ig and decided to give it a shot. My bf booked us reservations for Valentine's Day and lo and behold of course it had to be an outrageously priced couples menu set. While the service was really solid, I don't remember enjoying any of the dishes from the set menu except maybe the carrot cake. In fact, we ended up returning two of the entrees, which was the emulsified congee (weirdly bubbly and extremely salty) and spinach Taiwanese beef pasta (undercooked, extremely Salty). I don't recall the last time I returned an item to the kitchen. The couple next to us also did the same thing. And don't get me started on the price point, it was ~$250pp before the 26% in mandatory service charges ($600ish total without drinks). Management was apologetic about the courses and offered drinks to accommodate us. The scallion croissant was really delicious and the highlight of the meal.

I came to try this place because of the hype. Honestly….way overpriced for what it is. We had the famous scallion croissant and it was good, but not mind blowing. We also had the Yeobo Darling Kalbi for $76, and it was ok, but definitely not worth the price tag. I’ve had better for cheaper elsewhere. The Yeobo Darling Chicken Wings were too salty and not even as good as fast food Korean fried chicken. Again, an overall summary of this place is: it’s just ok and way too expensive. I’m honestly starting to think they’re paying people to hype up this place on social media or something? Because how can so many people recommend a place that’s just so mediocre 🤷🏻‍♀️
