As a vegetarian it was delightful to have options for veggie patties. I ordered the John Wayne (single Beyond with BBQ sauce, cheese and a couple of big fresh onion rings...of course no bacon and to my delight...a considerable discount was assessed to accommodate the excluded bacon. What a great business practice! Great variety of soft fountain drinks and harder beverages as well. The spicy ketchup and jalapeño ranch was perfect with what appeared to be hand cut nicely seasoned fries. This is a WOKE establishment happily flying their colors and sentiment..."everyone is welcome here!" They even have Halal beef and chicken available...impressive. If one isn't woke than they would be welcome but might feel a bit itchy and this is not corporate fast food...it was worth the TLC and care in preparing our lunch. 😀

I’ve been traveling all over the country for work for the past few years and am always on the search for the best burger, and I think I have found it here. Juicy burger with great tastes and some of the friendliest service I’ve had in a restaurant in years. I drove out from Moreno Valley for other reasons, but I would drive out again just to get this burger

I had one of their double burgers lettuce wrapped with some sweet potato fries. It was very, very tasty. I think they offer gluten-free buns but I just went protein style. Something was wrong with their stereo and it was just playing loud annoying, static otherwise a decent place and experience.

Good variety of burgers, burgers come out juicy and tasty. Fries are fried to perfection. Service was fast and attentive. Very friendly and cool looking place. Look forward to coming back again.

Quite possibly the best burger I've ever had. Everything from the bun, to the meat, to the condiments was spot on, which made the flavor intense and satisfying. I ordered the Producer as it comes, and my wife had the Leading Lady with no onions or tomatoes but with extra pickles. We ordered an order of fries and onion rings as well. It took a little while to get our food, but like the signs around say, this is not a fast food joint. Plus, good things take time and this is no exception. The Producer was a HUGE double Patty cheeseburger, and even though it was piled high with it's usual condiments, it stayed together quite well. The burger buns were phenomenal and really made the burger that much tastier. The fries had a good coating and were nice and crispy. The onion rings came with a spicy sauce that complimented them perfectly. The place is a bit small, especially when there is a crowd (which is often). Their bathrooms are small but very clean, which says a lot about their establishment. Ww will come back here any time we're in town. In fact, I'm planning my next trip as we speak!

We make sure that we eat here every time we are in Big Bear. Good burgers, fries and shakes! They even have some good options for vegans and vegetarians!! It's always busy and sometimes they run out of food and have to close early... family owned and worth the wait!! #bestburger

This will definitely not be a short post because I love love love this place. I went there for the first time this weekend and first off I appreciated the mural on the walls. Second, they posted notes saying they are not fast food and if you expect quick service this was not the spot for you. They also let you know that they were experiencing a staffing shortage and added a bit of humor which I appreciated. We got there 45 minutes before closing and it did take us about 30ish minutes to finally order but I did not mind at all since I knew what I signed up for. The guy taking our order was super nice and apologetic but he had nothing to apologize for if anything I felt bad that they were still taking my order when they were closing in like 10 minutes. We received our food around 6:10pm (after they had technically closed) and even after closing the staff were friendly, and allowed us to take our time to eat our food, which was delicious. The prices were definitely worth it considering if you went to a burger joint at The Village it would have been double the price. I would definitely recommend this place and have some patience. If you can't wait or have no patience they have a sign telling you where the closest fast food restaurants are, I love it 😂

I had a great burger from here. I ordered the Duke and was not disappointed. The Duke is a bacon western cheeseburger. The fries were also quite good and tasty. The burger was well put together and the bun was quite good as well. probably one of the more pretty burgers I have encountered, made almost no mess. There was not much of a wait, and there was plenty of parking.

What really stood out for me here was the service & reasonable price. Also appreciate that they have a halal beef patty upon request for no extra cost. I appreciate that the front cashier lady sensed that I was sharing my burger & offered to split it. I ordered the Leading Man (cheese burger), large fries, large sweet potato fries, and a shock top bottle & it was under $25 total after tax. They also brought out wasabi mayo stating it was good with the sweet potato fries, which I also appreciated. Overall a great experience! We sat outside with our dog, and they even offered to provide a water bowl for my pup.

First time coming here. I heard the backstory to it so for sure I had to check it out. Was the first person here today (4/22/2021) and immediately liked the service. The cashier, I didn't get her name but also was wearing Under Armour like me, took my order and was helpful with my questions. When I got my order, had to take a pic and by the looks of the burger, I could tell it was going to be delicious. I don't know what they season the patties with, but man It was delicious. Also the Tater tots . This place was recommended to me by my friends from work. Will come again soon!

My new favorite burger restaurant. Nothing like the super-salty fast-food styles so common at other burger restaurants. These burgers taste like they were made at home by someone who knows how. The chicken nuggets were also a big hit, with awesome texture and a hint of seasoning. Great shakes as well - just the right thickness. Sweet potato tots are a neat addition to the menu. I only wish they could keep up with demand! The restaurant is a bit cramped to be waiting so long. Worth it though.

Best chicken sandwich i have had. Dog friendly patio. The kindest mom and pop i have ran in to in a minute🙂. Instead of Carl's Jr or any of those quick fast food places come to get a burger. You wont regret it. Way better quality and awsome customer service.

Fantastic burger joint! My family went this last Sunday for the first time and we were completely blown away. Everyone enjoyed their burgers and raved about our experience. I got the Director and thought it was better than any double-double I've had down the mountain. I also tried their cheese curds and jalapeño bottle caps. Both were excellent. Between the line and then waiting for food, it probably took 30 minutes before we ate, so be patient. It's worth it!

Amazing burger place with amazing staff and customer service. Easy to get questions answered. Definitely recommend their in house spicy sauce and their Jalapeno Ranch! If you get the cheese curds the jalapeno ranch is the perfect sauce to dip! 🤤

The best burger I've ever had after living in four different major cities. The staff are insanely friendly and cool, and their shakes are absolutely rediculously good. It's not fast food, you do have to wait, but oh man is it worth it every. single. time.

It was 10/10!!! Just delicious, I would definitely come back next time. You can get a vegan/vegetarian version of each burger. And it’s sooo tasty!

Update 8/2024. They have remodeled a bit and the place looks much brighter, The burgers though were a let down. I still liked the Duke, but my wife couldn't eat hers. It looks like they went to frozen processed patties. They were thick and nasty, but the taste was of. Not like a hand made patty as before. Earlier: Sorry for not having pictures. It looked so good I had to take a bite. That was it. I couldn't put it down. I had the Duke. Great flavor, nice bun and lots of great ingredients.

Our first time at Get the Burger and for sure won't be our last. Delicious from the first bite to the last. Great friendly servers too. Thank you guys, see you next time!

Love this place. Just a simple local burger joint with flair in its road trip thru the mountains decor. Busy on the weekends and parking is a pain but I think it’s well worth it.

My first but certainly not my last visit to “Get the Burger”. As you can see on the menu photos the prices are super reasonable considering the portion of deliciousness they served me. The photo of the bear is a incredibly accurate representation of me after eating a stupendous amount of deliciousness. I had the “Director” with some bacon that they cooked here when I ordered it so it wasn’t dry and nasty like the grocery store precooked stuff they have in the salad aisle with the bacon bits. I also had an order of fries and the Mac&Cheese bites. If you are a ghetto fabulous Kraft Macaroni and Cheese lover as I am this will be the greatest lunch side of your life!!!! The gooey cheesy goodness remains after they deep fry it to a Golden yummy crust. I’m stuffed but I’ll be back to sample the ice cream or a shake later this week before continuing my road trip.

It was held in front of the restaurant and inside the restaurant, and it said that this was not fast food, so if you're in a hurry, go to the Mac!! I was attracted to it and entered the restaurant.The atmosphere was very good and there were many good customers.Fast food It was as busy as possible, so it took about 25 minutes to wait for the order to be in line and then to be called.The taste was wonderful and I was satisfied.Be careful when you go to the parking lot during lunchtime!

Be warned, the wait is real and they have plenty of signs. Even if it doesn't seem that busy just be aware you may need to wait at least 20 minutes. That said if you like a good burger and tasty no frills fries this is the spot. If you like supporting small business with a nice lady working the register then this is the spot. If you don't care about that stuff and want something fast then you'd be better off going to Carl Jr's or another fast food joint. Also parking may be a bit suspect if it's busy, not the biggest lot.

Order up front, seat yourself inside or out. They'll call your name for your order. The Duke burger, fries, and chocolate shake were good, not great. Have some occasional fun menu items that may or may not be available, but you'll have to check when you're ordering. Clean after yourselves. Not a ton of free parking. This is a great burger spot on the mountain. My burger was great the onion rings were great with the wasabi ranch. Nicely decorated with a mountain mural. This is a great spot for lunch or dinner.

I was able to get a “puppy patty” for my little poodle and they brought out a water bowl and two dog treats for her. I was so happy for her I kind of forgot about my own burger (the Director which was a huge two patty mess which was amazing) Any place that loves dogs like that will always get my business. I think the reason that I haven’t written a review thus far as because the food is so good that I’m not thinking about it. I think this is the best big bear joint that you’re going to find in big bear right now. If you’re looking for fast food, don’t come here, this is not your place. If you’re looking for good food that comes out quickly then this is a good place for you. Everything here is made to order. On our last adventure, here I got a burger, protein style, my wife got the chicken sandwich, my son, got the chicken nuggets, and my daughter got the sweet potato fries. We also added a side of cheese curds, which were super good.

This place is the real deal. The food is totally worth the wait!! We had a celiac in our group who easily ate a gluten free meal. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Great little stop in Big Bear! Friendly, cozy, and delicious! The burgers are very good, but the sides are incredible! Crispy and fresh, yet not greasy. Get the burger, but don't forget the sides!! Parking is easy, and the location is on the main street of Big Bear, so it's not even a detour if you're coming into, or leaving the town!

I have driven past this place hundreds of times and I have finally stopped to try it out. Omg this place has you wanting more. I was wanting more of my food even into the next day. This is my new go to when up in big bear. The food is fresh, juicy, and doesn't make you feel blah at the end. There isn't alot of grease so you can enjoy every bite. The chicken sandwhich was so moist and didn't have any hard unchewable spots in the coating. The buns aren't normal, they have a flavor that makes you want to eat every last bite. Now the fries... I do not like soggy fries. These fries were amazing. They had a crunch and were cooked to perfection. Counting down the days until my next drive into town to try something new. And to top it all off, the staff. They are so friendly and enjoyable. My family will definitely be back.

I'm glad we stopped for lunch before heading down the mountain, great burger joint!! Staff are really friendly and helpful, they are currently under construction so it might not look like a restaruant, but don't worry the construction did not take away any of the deliciousness! We had the leading man and John Wayne burger, both were really juicy and flavorful, taste was amazing! With a side of pickle fries is just perfect, I'm not really a pickle person but I thought the pickle fries were amazing. We had our dog with us and they even brought out doggy biscuit and water for our dogs, which was really thoughtful! We will definitely be returning when we visit big bear again!

Excellent Burger! This is not fast food, everything is cooked to order, but the burger was worth the wait. I had the Leading Man, which is a cheeseburger with grilled onions. Everything was delicious, the meat, cheese, tomato, lettuce, onions, and especially the bun. This is not a chain or franchise, this is family owned and run restaurant. There is plenty of parking and seating both inside and outside.

Absolutely delicious burgers and french fries. If you're in a hurry don't come here as the sign says in the lobby go to Carl's Jr down the road lol. But if you want a quality burger and are willing to wait it most certainly its worth the while. Great shakes also.. The basic flavors but the Oreo strawberry was delicious.

Welp, we can this past Saturday during the power outage of the entire Big Bear Valley... to say that EVERYONE was on the look out for any place that had electricity should tell you that it was as if we were living in dystopian times LMAO!! The restaurant staff handled it like Champs! We arrived right as they opened at 11:30 AM, and they KNEW it was going to be one of those days from go. Plenty of seating indoors and out. Food was fresh, music was pleasant, and beer was cold. I got the 'Leading Man' with beer-battered onion rings. Ask for the side of ranch dressing at the counter before you have a seat. Respectfully Reviewed.

I got a burger at Get the Burger. And it was good! I got the “Director” with no onions and mayo instead of their sauce. I was thinking it would be a small double cheeseburger because it’s a small place. NOPE! It was a big delicious burger! The fries weren’t the best, but not bad enough to lose a star. The staff was awesome and the atmosphere was really cool as well. I hate Pepsi, but this is the only place I’ve seen that serves both beverages at the fountain. Love it! And they support the military and veterans here! 🫡 It’s worth a stop if you’re passing through.

Prior to this place, we didn’t have a top five for burgers. But this restaurant made us have to create one because of how delicious it was. My fiancé and I have had burgers from many different places, whether it was a quick fast food restaurant or a sit down restaurant, but nothing has came close to the burgers we had here. One of the best burgers we’ve had in a long time. It was our first time here, and although the prices were a little pricey, it was well worth it. Very flavorful, the meat was nice and juicy, the bacon was extra but definitely enhanced the burger. The fries were crispy and salty (which we love) and the tater totes were the same. Staff were very kind,helpful, the place is beautiful and unique in its own way. Definitely gonna be our first stop next time we come up to Big Bear.

FANTASTIC BURGERS!!! This joint uses good quality meat that you can taste. I ordered the Director double cheeseburger and added bacon. It was WAY better than expected. Great size burgers, they reminded me of in n out mixed with five guys. The sides were also delicious. We had tater tots, french fries, and cheese curds with ranch. They were well fried and perfectly crunchy. The inside of the restaurant is a little warm but a good amount of seating inside and on the patio around the building. Great first-time experience.

Great customer service, and great food love the experience and food is amazing 5 stars for sure with no doubt.

I could have done without the endless “political messaging” all over the walls. But, the service and food were absolutely excellent. And even though the burgers take a bit to get prepared, that’s totally justified (in my opinion). If you’re in a bit of a time crunch, not the place for you. But if you can wait a few mins, the place is worth your time.

It was overall great. It has a nice theme that is translated perfectly on the menu, as they state in the restaurant they're not fast food, but the wait is worth it. I had the John Wayne (without the onion rings) the Fries, Sweet Potato Puffs, and a fountain drink. The bacon was cooked to perfection and the Jalapenos on point. I'd personally recommend trying the Sweet Potato Puffs (even though the people I went with didn't really care for them). They're not the cheapest or most fancy of places but I really liked it.

Good burgers, good service, great setting, restaurant is relatively clean. Burgers are nicely made, with excellent ingredients and appropriately premium burger prices. The onion rings are excellent. The tater tots are good, but you don't get many of them for three bucks (that should be a large pile at that price point). They warn you to expect to wait, but they're working fast and it's not much of a wait.

High quality burgers in an easy to get to location. Plenty of outdoor seating, and they are extremely dog friendly. As soon as we sat down outside with our dog she was given two treats and a big bowl of water. I enjoyed my burger but I do think that for the price it wasn't what you would expect. The burger shown was a little over $7.

It was good. However, I ordered a medium rare burger and they gave me medium well. (It was even written on the wrapper.) I had to remind them to make my shake. The worse part is that this was when we were the only ones there! We were there in the middle of a weekday afternoon, off-season. No wait, which is rare as I understand it and saw when we tried to eat there during the weekend. So I don't understand why they couldn't get the order right or complete. I would try it again, but triple check my order.

I’ve been driving by this place for years now whenever I come up to Big Bear and did not know the name of it until I had to stop and look out front of that single little sign and then look it up on Google. They really should put the name in a better place and bigger so you know what it’s called and what hours they’re open, etc. etc. I was craving a burger so once I realized it was a burger joint I popped in for one. I ordered the leading lady with turkey and it was pretty good. The bun was nice and soft and their secret sauce is delicious. The lettuce looked a little wilted and browned in some spots so that didn’t look delectable. Ordered that with a side of large fries. They were a bit undercooked for my liking. I like a bit of a crunch. I should’ve asked them to cook them a little longer for me, but forgot. Otherwise they were OK. Had a nice cold corona to wash it all down. Prices are very decent for the location. Service was OK. It seemed like it took too long for it to come out to my table. Cute little outdoor patio and booths and tables inside. Place your order at the window and go grab a seat and they bring it to you. Next time I’m craving a burger I will stop in.

First time here today! Guy was super friendly serving us. Got the burger without cheese and chicken nuggets. It was pretty good, the sauce was delicious on the burger and the nuggets were extra crispy. Only complaint is the prices, but I get everything is up. Wouldn’t spend 7-8 on 6 pieces of chicken nuggets again that would probably cost $1 to make.

A cute little shack with amazing burgers. If you are in big bear, make sure you have at least one meal here. The burger is perfect size, super juicy, with the most delicious sauce. The only downsides are their PoS system is old so they may have mismatch charges on your receipt and it took them a long time to prepare the food

Staff was friendly and fast. The burger was good, not amazing but good. I would go back. For a mountain town, it's a 5 star. But if you are expecting it to be like your favorite local spot it isn't. Burger had good flavor and was cooked well. The cheese curds were really good. Make sure to ask for the jalapeño ranch. Mad it so much better. Also something that was unlike anything I had ever seen was they had both a coke and a Pepsi choice. Plus several other beverage choices.

This place is really good, much better than fast food for sure, but it is currently under construction and they’re short staff, which takes a lot longer to get your food. It seems a little unorganized too. We got our meal after 45 minutes waiting and the buns were a little cold, mine was hard on the side. Overall, I think that once the place is done renovating and get more organization it will be great. The food is good, I still enjoyed my spicy chicken sandwich.

It was close to the hiking area so I went there. It's not a big place, it has many visitors, you may wait most of times. The food is good, but not that fast service. It's a really nice environment in there. Not very expensive, I've got a 'director' burger for $10 and I got satisfied.

Did not meet expectations at all. Large fries are smaller than a regular at jack n the box. Maybe we came at a weird time but the pictures don't match what you get and the meat is definitely not as fresh. Could be an off season thing but there's better food at other restaurants around here at this time of year.

Great burgers! We are vegan and happy to be able to eat somewhere. The fries were delicious but very overpriced. The upcharge for a vegan patty was not reasonable. It turned us off when we paid that they asked for a tip so we won't be back as it's super rude for places like this to ask for tips. People are burnt out on being asked to tip for really expensive overpriced food and I wish businesses would realize that they loose business from doing that.

We visited this place twice in 3 days. I wish I could give a 5 star review for service because the first day was the best service ever. They brought water and a treat for my dog outside and my gluten free bun was falling apart and they made me a protein style one. Which I appreciate so so so much. The second day we went back. We were ordering up front I told the girl gluten free but can I still have my burger protein style but prepped gluten free. Her entire demeanor changed. She did not put gluten free note under my burger as I asked. So for ppl that don't know. When you have celiac disease (which I do have) gluten makes your body attack your stomach lining. Some ppl are sensitive to gluten. For me it can be life or dealth. It causes us to get super sick plus it's eating our stomach lining away. So cross contamination is a huge deal. We only ate here because of the gluten free options. Mind you I don't eat out ANYWHERE. So I was beyond excited about this. When I got my food my fries were in a bag labeled gluten free but my burger was in the other bag w the regular burgers my boys ordered. I would definitely felt more comfortable w my meal separate like my fries. I wasn't going to write this review but my husband got in the car and said " I feel so bad for you because ppl treat you so differently when you say gluten free." And maybe me writing this can help change that for us who can't eat anywhere and give places like this a shot. Thank you to everyone who served us the first day was the best experience. Pls train ppl to understand why we order the way we do pls. We will definitely still be back next time we are out here.

Let me start by saying, if I can have it my way - my last meal will be a cheeseburger. This burger just wasn't "it" for me. I ordered the "Leading Man", menu style, a small fry, and a large drink. I waited 15 minutes for my food despite them being pretty busy at around 5pm for a Wednesday. The fries were good, salted well, the burger was large and the tomato slices was generous, but the sauce was overly generous and too much pickle flavor (for me). The soda is a serve yourself fountain. My total (with 20% tip) was $22.63 - I wouldn't say it was worth $20+ for one person to eat here. This spot feels like a tourist trap, honestly. The serving size was more than filling, but the burger was messy to eat from bite one and only got worse. The napkins shred almost immediately, for $20+ I expected at least some better napkins if you're going to make a burger so messy. The place was kept clean though. It's great how supportive the business is of EVERYTHING but still, I won't be returning. Oh, and while eating I could hear two women in the kitchen yelling at each other. Not very professional!

We have been going here for the past 15 years on memorial weekend, I’ve always had an amazing experience until this weekend. I ordered my usual BLT, the bacon was uncooked, they took it back, observed the chef and staff in the kitchen doing absolutely nothing to my sandwich, except re wrapping and handing it back to me. Went up to the counter and spoke with a very nice lady, who not only refunded the BLT, she refunded the entire meal of our table, She looked at my BLT and was appalled of what the sandwich look like, she was very apologetic, she said she would never expect anyone to eat the BLT . We will come back next year, Maybe the chef was having a very bad day..🥴

The patties tasted like the smart and final patties you can find in the frozen section. Same with the frozen fries. Gluten buns were dry. Highly don't recommend this place. It looks cool but the food sucks. Totally not worth sending over $40 for 2 burgers and 2 fries. If it was delicious I wouldn't care to spend that much.

Perhaps the worst experience we've had with food in BB. I was so excited to try this place, and gave them the benefit of the doubt as far as "low staffing" and "wait for high quality food" posted all over the interior of the store... So. We waited....and waited, and waited... It ended up being closer to 40 minutes before we got food, and when we did- it tasted like it had been sitting out for the length of time we waited for food to be ready. The service didn't seem to have any drive while making food, instead chatting with a nearby worker (who was literally behind in the kitchen with staff, mind you) asking what they could make him. The name of the store should be: DO NOT Get The Burger. You're better off at Carl's Jr or McDonalds (which is ironic, because inside the store there's a sign that says if you want "fast food" go there)!!

I wish I could give this place a negative star. Was very frustrated at this establishment. First we had to wait in line for30 minutes before we even got to the register. Then when I got to the register I ordered the 3 milkshakes we intended to have only to be told that they were out of milkshakes. Never-mind all the signs advertising milkshakes. And no apology or even a hint of caring. Yes they were busy but an establishment like this should be better prepared during the high season. And I don’t buy this aspect that you have to wait for good burgers. Good burgers have been around for over a century and I don’t believe that in order to get a good burger you have to wait an insane amount of time. To me this is a ruse to get around hiring sufficient staff to service customers properly. It’s a shame since I went to this restaurant to support local businesses but was left extremely disappointed and frustrated. Sad to see owners of restaurants trying to deceive customers in order to maximize profits. Not only will I not be going back but I will actively dissuade anyone from going to this place in the future.

The burger's (duke & director) taste and size by no mean justify its price. The burger's sizes is small with an average taste. Also despite the small line and small orders there was a 20 min wait time. They have clean bathrooms , good for bathroom breaks.

It’s called “get the burger” should be called wait for burger. An average burger at best. Other establishments with better quantity burgers takes a quarter of the time to order and serve. Waited over an hour during a seemingly low foot traffic time at restaurant.

If you enjoy waiting an hour for food, by all means, this is the restaurant for you! I've quite literally been in a packed out restaurant with short staffed kitchens that were faster than here. I would never come back again. Oh and the food isn't worth the wait. It's not nasty, but it was mediocre food.

The food took 1 hour. I could tell the oil they used was not clean. We ordered two burgers, salad , 3x chicken nuggets, 2x fries, 1 x onion ring, and tater tots 6x sodas. For what we ordered, it should not have taken that long. I only took a picture of the fries. There's no filter they are not crunchy they were fried in old oil. For what we ordered, it should not have been 85$ for the wait, and it wasn't good. The only bonus is they have a Coke and Pepsi machine. I understand it's a tourist destination but for one hour at least the food should be delicious. Sit out outside it smells like the oil inside

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience at Get the Burger. Because we didn’t leave a tip upfront, they put our order at the very end! We waited over an hour, watching everyone who came in after us get their food before us. When I finally followed up, they simply grabbed our order ticket and just started making it. It was clear they deliberately delayed our order. Don’t be fooled by the good reviews—this place clearly prioritizes tips over customer service. I won’t be coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
