Road tripping through Texas. Stopped for a lunch. Their food was excellent. The best hamburger I have ever had. Hubby had a grilled pork tenderloin wrap. It was superb. Will spread the word to friends just in case they happen through. Definitely recommend even if you have room drive out of your way.

Don't let the small-town-Texas storefront look deceive you - when you enter the Cactus Grill in Meridian, TX, you are in for a true treat. What may appear to be a typical downtown diner is, in truth, a casual restaurant featuring fine food served with excellent attention to your comfort. Our purpose was to get together with a friend roughly mid-way between Fort Worth and Waco, so almost anything would have done. But the food was delicious and plentiful. Well worth the drive!

Beautiful place. Excellent service. Waitress, lady owner, is so nice and friendly and efficient. Food is the best. Would like the recipes for the salsa and queso. Do you give them out? Have eaten here 3 years in a row at this time each year. We are from Wisconsin and are visiting friends in Waco. Drive to your restaurant for lunch. Thank you.

When me and my daughter walked in, we seated ourselves and the waiter gave us menus while we ordered they gave us a basket of homemade bread with butter. I got the catfish and my daughter got noodles it was so good and will come back again.

We drove down from Arlington. It was a great day to get out on the motorcycle. The food was great. Service was perfect. It's not the everyday small town menu. My wife enjoyed the chicken salad sandwich. I had the cheeseburger. She really enjoyed her meal, as did I.

We happened upon this restaurant and we're so happy with our decision. The atmosphere and service were top notch and the food served to the four of us rated 10 out of 10. We had amazing fish tacos, a huge burger, delicious pork tacos and fabulous crispy beef tacos.

Passing through Meridian and took a chance on this cute place. Made to order no limitations even right before lunch close. Great food! We will definitely be back.

We had headed out for vacation and were looking for some fast food but thankfully we stopped here instead. Service was excellent, the food was obviously made from scratch and with care. Great flavor and the only problem was the portion was too big to finish.

I have tried several different entrees and ALL of them were amazing! Fresh ingredients, high quality, price is reasonable for such quality!! This is my go to when in town!

Best kept secret in Meridian. All the food is from scratch. Family run. The chicken fried chicken with the jalapeño gravy is amazing. Mexican burger awesome. New Mexican meatballs a favorite.

This is the Cornish Hen. The lemon sauce was almost too much, but the cook and flavor of the hen was phenomenal. Didn't know this hidden gem existed in no where Meridian. Worth the stop. It's a little expensive, so be prepared for a little sticker shock. The food is worth it though.

Good spot for lunch & dinner in Meridian, Texas. Menu items are vast.. chicken fried chicken, down to mixed seafood pasta! The grilled asparagus and tomato appetizer is a nice choice! Grilled Ribeye steak is tasty as well! The restaurant touts homemade bread (very similar to Macaroni Grill in my opinion) and seasoned butter. A very large selection of homemade deserts.. give it a try!

Homemade herb bread was a beautiful start to a hearty meal. Try it if you like an good home cooked, love infused meal.

The food was good, the spinach salad with grilled chicken, grapes, pecans and raspberry dressing is now a favorite dish. My friend's meal was not so well received as the beans were spicier than she preferred but reported that the pork tortillas were so full she had to ask for additional tortillas. The service is a bit slow due to lack of servers but otherwise this is a pleasant place and experience.

Had catfish last night. Hearty portions, but my husband cleaned his plate and mine. Woman running the front was friendly and busy. She said her husband was the cook and the food was fresh and well prepared. Wait staff and bus person need to leave their phones in the kitchen. Prices were fair. Would definitely return.

The food was fantastic. I had the chicken piccata and it was as good that I've ever had. All the food was hot and fresh. The bread served for appetizer was a nice treat. The only reason it received four stars was the service was a little slow. They might have been understaffed for the crowd. I would definitely return. They do not serve alcohol but you can bring it in.

Food was okay definitely different avg about 25$ per person wich seemed a little high for the portion size service was slow and not very busy but wasn't horrible the bread they brought before meal was stale and hard not very good but wasn't charged for it all in all it was okay

Small town restaurant with authentic aviance. I would have enjoyed a cleaner dining experience. I enjoyed the chicken fried steak and the mashed potatoes, which are not on the menu. Great flavor with appropriate salt and seasoning. Though, I should mention that the steak was only about 50% the size of the breading. The vegetable medley was unpleasant to my pallet, which surprised me as I like all the ingredients. However, I suggest you try it for yourself as I may have visited on an off day. So, to sum up I recommend you give them a shot.

Food was good for the most part. Calamari appetizer was great. I had the pork medallions unfortunately while it tasted fine it was just basicly 2 breaded pork chops with day old white rice and canned veggies mixed in not really pilaf, also would do well to separate from the pork chops as the sauce soaked into the rice making more of a rice soup. My wife had the filet she said cooked perfect and the sides were ok. Overall a good meal but the price well that was just a bit steep for what it was but none the less a good change of pace to most of the local eateries. Overall was a good experience but the price factor for what we received probably will keep us away for a second trip.

Went in at 12:00 with no tables ahead of us. We were a party of 10, with four small children. Sat us immediately, got our drinks and order taken immediately which was great. They sat 5 tables after us served them and three had left before we even got our food. Waited an hour and 15 minutes and got a couple plates served at a time. 50% was good and 50% was terrible. Worst service I ever received and we travel a lot on weekends trying new places. The waitress pleasant personality is the only reason they got 1 star.

We were the first people in the restaurant when they opened. It took a hour and a half to get our food. Sitting in a restaurant for so long gives you plenty of time to observe the mounds of dust balls on the walls :-(. When the food did arrive my "market price" steak was gray like it had been defrosted in the microwave and was very tough. The others at my table were not happy with their food either. On the plus side, the dog got a very expensive meal that night.

Seated quickly, never took our drink order. Then about 15 minutes later a group of 6 walk in and they instantly ran to them and had wine glasses out and water. We were treated like lower class.....they never came up to us and 20 minutes in we decided to head around the corner to the new "RS 4 kitchen" check them out!!!!!
