Opinions de Old Lisbon Miami
Today we were in this restaurant and the truth is that we were very pleased. The place is very cozy and decorated in its style in a very beautiful way. The service was very good and the staff in general very friendly and professional. The food was very tasty, cooked and tasted good. The cod croquettes were great, the roasted chorizo and cod were also spectacular. As for desserts, the Delicias de Fátima was really a delight, very good, one of the best desserts we have tried.
First time on Old Lisbon, we tried the Caldeirada de Bacalhau Fresco (fresh cod stewed in tomato sauce with onions, peppers, and potatoes) and the Caldeirada de Peixes e Mariscos (seafood stew with shrimp, clams, mussels, squid, fish, and steamed potatoes). Both dishes were good and comforting, with fresh ingredients and traditional flavors, though not outstanding. As our first introduction to Portuguese food, it was a pleasant experience, and we would come back to try other dishes on the menu.
I'm Brazilian and I've always eaten Portuguese food at home. I confess that today's experience was one of the best in terms of Portuguese cuisine. The sardines were absolutely perfect, accompanied by a good beer, along with the cod croquettes and seafood. We only had appetizers, and the experience was totally worth it.
The food was delicious!! Perfectly cooked! The service is also excellent
I used to love the Octopus and mussels here, but I hadn’t been back since the pandemic. The restaurant has been under new management and it is THRIVING. It is an absolutely spectacular atmosphere for date night or family night. The octopus and white wine mussels exceeded my expectations and the halibut special was so soft and savory I was beyond impressed. Our server Rodrigo was out of this world and has really turned the place around! The outdoor seating is lovely. This place will easily become one of my top spots in Miami! The drinks were also great- got a mojito and a red sangria.
I’m upset that I’ve been in the area for 2 years and am just now experiencing this restaurant. You know a restaurant cares about their food when they bring out fresh, quality *warm* bread. I’ve been on keto and I’m usually pretty strict with my food but I just could not resist dipping this bread in what could possibly be the best calamari I’ve ever had in my LIFE The cod stew was also phenomenal. Super tender and flavorful, it felt like a warm hug in my mouth. Service was also impeccable - food came out fast and they packed our food for us without even asking. Incredible value, will definitely be coming back 🙂↕️
This restaurant is amazing. An authentic Portuguese cuisine and very tasty. The service is outstanding and the ambience is cozy and pleasant. I've tried many plates there and everything was delicious. But my favorites are their alheira, bolinhos de bacalhau, bacalhau à old lisbon, and bacalhau com natas.
We had an incredible lunch experience at this charming Portuguese restaurant! The highlight of our meal was the seafood paella, which was a true masterpiece. The dish was brimming with fresh, flavorful seafood, including succulent shrimp, tender mussels, and perfectly cooked clams. Each bite was infused with a harmonious blend of saffron and spices, creating an authentic and unforgettable taste of Portugal. The presentation was equally impressive, with the vibrant colors of the seafood and rice making the dish almost too beautiful to eat. The portion size was generous, perfect for sharing, and paired wonderfully with a crisp glass of vinho verde. The service was warm and attentive, adding to the overall cozy and welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant. Whether you're a seafood lover or just looking to explore authentic Portuguese flavors, this is a must-visit spot. We can't wait to return and try more from their menu!
Food was tasty and grand portions. We could have been fine with a couple of starters and desserts. We did it all flaming sausage, bottle of wine. Fish for one and pork and potatoes. More than enough and a very tasty meringue mountain with covered with caramel and peach sauce. We are planning a trip to Portugal and Old Lisbon was on our list of restaurants to taste on Coral Way in the Gables.
We have never had the opportunity to enjoy Portuguese cuisine before but if it’s all like this I’m tempted to move there. Very nice restaurant with excellent staff and great food. We started with the Polvo grelhado ou frito (grilled octopus with garlic sauce), amazing. Set the bar high for the rest of the meal. I ordered the Feijoada de Marisco ( seafood in white bean stew). It was a massive bowl of seafood ( clams, mussels, shrimp, squid, fish and bites of sausage) it was delicious. The sauce was creamy and amazing. The wife ordered the Camaroes so crème delicious also (shrimp in pink garlic sauce). From the smile on her face I could tell it was a winner. Big butterflied shrimp in a tasty garlic sauce, you can’t go wrong. Plan on taking home some leftovers, each plate easily feeds two people. Wonderful place, we will return when we’re back in Miami.
Easily one of our favorite restaurant in the Miami area. We had Polvo grelhado (sizzling sauteed octopus in garlic sauce), Paelha Marinese. (seafood paella), and Sopa de Peixe (fish soup) the last time we were there. So amazing! Fresh and so delicious. It doesn't get better anywhere else. We highly recommend this restaurant to all. And you should always get the pasteis de nata before you leave. Can't wait for the next time.

The restaurant appearance is very nice and clean. The staff are all friendly and polite. The food came out quickly and the portions are very generous. All the ingredients are nice looking and fresh. The menu is pretty extensive and has all different types of proteins. The only one con is that they have a small parking lot that requires valet parking but it's not expensive. I'll definitely be going back.

This place is wonderful. Have been here a few times. Everything is delicious, and the atmosphere inside is wonderful. They have a great lunch menu, and the portions are big. The service was excellent as well. Highly recommend
Dear Old Lisbon- we are and we will be- you old customers- one thing more and more lately. Please do something, put sign” no sound budgets or phone on speaker allowed” Couple with kid next to us- because working PlayStation with loud annoying sound- parents didn’t care about people around trying enjoy quiet evening. It became theirs playground. So ignorant. We love you- we don’t love ignorance.
The best Portuguese dishes in Miami and Pedro the best server. Very good food.
This 72 year old novice enjoys trying things he can't pronounce. Lulas Grelhadas is one. Grilled squid served with garlic, wine and olive oil. Interesting. Feijoada De Marisco -- Seafood mixed with clams, mussels, shrimps, squid and sausage in a white bean stew served with rice. It reminds me of Bouillabaisse. Excellent! $23 for more than you can eat. Why order from Polo Loco will you can take this order home for an excellent healthy dinner.
Old Lisbon was such an amazing experience! Food was sooooo good. We went for my mom’s 80th birthday and were treated so well. Our server was really nice. 💯 recommend it!
This is my very top favorite restaurant in the entire beautiful city of Miami. As the name states, it is a traditional Portuguese restaurant serving delicious dishes from all over Portugal. I love their seafood dishes the best. The last time I visited, I had a seafood dish with fish, potatoes, scallops, and many more seafood delicacies. Their dessert was the most Awesome in the entire world. I had a "Delicia de Fátima", which is the most amazingly delicious custard that I have ever tasted. I mean, I would return again and again just for this dessert alone...that's how good it is. This is the best restaurant in Miami and their dishes prove it. If you want to try something simple, yet, wholeheartedly delicious, come to this gem. Every single one of their dishes is the very Best- fresh, healthy, and delicious.Their desserts are also out of this world. I really love it here.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Old Lisbon Coral Way and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly by our servers, Fátima and Pedro. They were attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and made great recommendations. The food at Old Lisbon Coral Way was truly outstanding. The chef clearly takes pride in their craft and every dish was prepared with care and attention to detail. We tried a variety of dishes, from the classic bacalhau to the octopus salad, and each one was delicious. The staff were also very efficient and kept our table clear of empty plates and glasses throughout the meal. Overall, the service was top-notch and really added to the overall dining experience. If you're a lover of Portuguese cuisine, I highly recommend Old Lisbon Coral Way. The food, service, and atmosphere all exceeded my expectations. I will definitely be returning soon.
This easily became my favorite restaurant in Miami. Every item I’ve had from their menu was crave-worthy and delicious. Service was punctual and staff all seemed to love their restaurant. It’s a small space and it feels personal, communal, even a little homely. I love those authentic Portuguese pastries.
Loved this restaurant. Food was excellent and authentic. I had the sardines lunch dish, and they were fresh and served whole. The passionfruit dessert was creamy, delicious, and not overly sweet. Appreciated the bottle of olive oil on the table and vinegars are available too. Portions were large and well-priced for the area. Service was excellent too. My water was sometimes refilled without me noticing, and the waitress was friendly to talk with. Looking forward to going back!
After a few Miami food disappointments, I came across this place and absolutely loved it. The service is impeccable, and the food is extremely delicious. I had cod croquettes and grilled octopus 🥰 really generous portions, worth the price. I plan on coming back & try something new. Also, really appreciate everyone who works here wears a mask at all times doing their part to keep us all safe 🙌🏻
Friendly servers and a great atmosphere. The grilled octopus was fresh and perfectly seasoned. I would definitely recommend this place.
Today I went to dinner with my friends to celebrate the birthday of one of them and the experience was spectacular the food the cod gomes de sa that Josselyn recommended was delicious and her service was super friendly and attentive
Nothing like an authentic restaurant in the middle of a bunch of American fusion-modern cuisines… This place was great! The food was fresh and delish and the service was excellent! Everyone was nice and they explained to us the menu with patience! The wine bottles are cheaper compared to other restaurants around the neighborhood Also, I loved that you can order the squids steamed and not fried!! And let me tell you they are delish!! The crema the nata it’s a must, however for me it’s too sweet but my table loved it

I always want to come here and never made the time for it. I was really surprised with the quality of the food and the portions. Me and my wife we order bolinho de bacalhau and fried sardines for starters both was delicious. The sardines was so well made with season and soft. I got the seafood platter that was humongous the same as the bife old Lisbon. Both dish was amazing. And to finalize we order Molotoff and it was a interesting and delicious dessert. Definitely coming back.
Great gem hidden in the middle of Coral Way! A top seafood place with awesome food, top service and great atmosphere that you wouldn't recognize from just looking at the restaurant from outside. We got the bolinhos de bacalhau, a paella, pargo grelhado, salmon and some of the best pasteis de nata I've ever tried. In addition the food is plentiful for the price, in particular for the paella. We'll come back!
Carlos Abreu, the chef, is an artist and he knows how to capture the flavors of the Lisbon cuisine, watching him in action is a ballet. I tried the grilled octopus, espectacular! For desert I had the Portuguese custard tart with cinnamon, coffee is good too. Highly recommend
We had the most fabulous meal w friends who moved to Miami 10 years ago. Not only is this the best Portuguese restaurant but our friends told us tourists don’t know about this place. The service was fabulous and they don’t rush you out. Although the slowness may upset some diners as the other reviews, it was such a great experience as we can talked to our friends and slowly enjoy the food. The music is perfect In Volume as a lot of restaurants here in Miami blast their music. The restaurant is sunny and happy. I am just sad I can’t come back unless I visit Miami again. Pic is only small plates and dessert. Must try the pears and nata. Love love love this place
We arrived while it was raining and the parking lot was all flooded. The corridor between the parking lot and the wall of the restaurant is impassable, so the rain and wet shoes shut us up. They should do this better. Attention place and excellent food.
This place always amazes us by their quality and consistency. It is authentic Portuguese cuisine and sometimes even better than in Portugal. Very good sardines, the "polvo grelhado" was divine and the bacalao options were all great. To finish it all, we had the desserts, starting with the pudim portugués. All in all a perfect meal in a friendly environment.
I absolutely love this place ❤️ The food is delicious, beautifully presented, and always hits the spot. Tried a couple of different items this time and everything tasted super fresh. Definitely one of my favorite go-to spots!

A great dining experience. Service was spot on and the food was extraordinary. A very great selection of porchgees wine and port to be had.

We come here often and as always, our waitress, Nayara rendered excellent service. She is our favorite.\nGood service, delicious meal and fair price.

Made reservations for a business lunch. The service was fantastic and the food even better. Highly recommend the Flaming Sausage appetizer and any of the cod dishes.
Old Lisbon truly feels like stepping into the heart of Lisbon. From the azulejos on the walls to the cloth table settings, the details immediately transport you to Portugal. The clams were very good—slightly acidic, but easily balanced with a less sharp white wine. Ordering bread is a must to fully enjoy the dish. The cod was juicy, with a pronounced oven-baked flavor and well-cooked onions. The red snapper was good, though a bit on the dry side. Overall, the experience was very enjoyable and remarkably close to what you would expect in Lisbon itself. I’ll definitely be back to try the paella—many tables were ordering it, and it looked fantastic. 🥘
The 6 of us ordered the following: camarao ao alho, presunto com queijo, bolinhos de bacalhau, costeletas de Cordeiro, bife de churrasco, white sangria. We got a paella too, but it was too sandy. We had to return it. The lamb chops were very good, at least, for the 1st few. The last double rib chop was very raw. We have to return that. Then we got 2 more chops, but they were also raw. The manager gave us all pateis de nata. The garlic shrimps, the skirt steak & bacalhau are very good. The salted cod wasn't too salty.
The food was delicious and the service exceptional. Prices are very expensive here but for the portion size, we were satisfied. Shared the grilled seafood platter for 2 and took some home. Our coffees were not the best but manager resolved our situation. Must valet park on-site so tack on more $ for the tip. Overall, costly but positive experience.
I like this place. Some dishes are better than others but overall is pretty good. Had Feijoada de Mariscos which was delicious and Lamb chops which were pretty good but the meat close the bone too rare for me when I ordered medium but still good. I just have to say that took a while for someone to greet at the door and when someone finally came was not very attentive. Definitely will be back! Cheers

After 20 years I came back to taste little bit of Portugal cusine. I had the grill octopus , sardinas , clams and of curse the Bacalao but I couldn't eat it after so many dishes. My favorite the clams , I miss the old brick oven that give a special touch to the restaurant, it's a signature restaurant on the Coral Way and service was very profesional.
Codfish croquettes with black eyed peas are the best!!! I ordered a codfish with potatoes with a garlic and onion sauce and it was great! As well as my friend's salmon... The ambience was algo nice... it was a sunny afternoon so a great lot of light coming through the windows... Only suggestion would be to organize the service a bit more: 4 different waiters stopped by the table several times asking for the same... although at the end of the day turned out to be also a plus cause we got the iced tea refilled every 3 minutes!! ;-)
The fish was very nice but the supposedly grilled squid (lulas) was more of boiled squid and the pudim dessert had nothing to do with portuguese pudim but more a south American version. Service started a bit cold and warmed a bit after. Any portuguese staff seems to be more friendly. Being from Portugal I have a total different perspective of what good service is and good portuguese food. Would still recommend this restaurant for those not used to portuguese food.
The food here was delicious specially the octopus. This restaurant really cooks with the heart of its native home. The drinks in the other hand are not as great. The decor and ambience were very good and you can have a conversation with people at your table without screaming. There is parking #restaurant #octopus #florida #food #journey
12/03/2024 This restaurant is one of my favorites in Miami, thanks to its perfect balance of quality, portions, and price. Food: They never miss, offering excellent product quality that clearly comes from Portugal. A slight suggestion—the codfish was a bit too unsalty, but its intense and authentic flavor remains a hallmark of this place. Service: New faces in the dining room, but the team remains well-coordinated and attentive. A special mention for the thoughtful touch of a complimentary glass of Port wine at the end of the meal. Ambience: Always bustling, which is the best indicator of great food and a welcoming atmosphere. Conclusion: Whenever you can, visit and enjoy the best codfish in Miami!
The food is decent, but a bit pricey. Service was chaotic with different people attending our table. Especially when we got our main course... a couple of us received the other person's meal instead of our own. Parking it's a challenge so be careful. Overall we had a good time, but except for those small hiccups.

3.25⭐️Nice atmosphere and excellent service. The young gentleman who was picking up the dishes, helped the main server, and brought water was on another customer service level. This gets overlooked. The overall service was pretty good. The food was alright. It was missing a little more flavor. They offer a nice and warm complimentary bread. The octopus, Polvo Grelhado ou Frito, was too chewy. Codfish croquettes were very good, but the beans were tasteless. The grilled Portuguese sausage was decent too. The main course, Bacalhau com Natas, was very good. What quite surprised me was Delicia de Fátima — one of the better desserts I have had lately. The other two were good too (check photos). All in all, good stuff and decent prices, but due to its rating and reviews, I had more significant expectations.
I ordered take-away so can't comment on the service or atmosphere but the restaurant looked nice. However, as a native Portuguese, the Bacalhau com Natas was nothing like how we do it in Portugal. The taste was ok but there were no Natas (cream) but rather mashed potatoes which threw off the entire dish. Also, there were lots of bones left in the dish. Maybe I'll try Old Lisbon again in the future but I won't be getting the Cod for sure.
The service is great and there is valet parking right near. The restaurant was full but for us the food was not tasty. My feeling is that The seafood is not fresh (everything was too sticky)and the rice was to mooshie. They deserve more for effort and kindness but the food was really not tasty and not value for money
One of the best foods around the Coral Gables area. Service is great, people are so warm and welcoming. The vibe is wonderful! The only serious complaint I have is that their desserts are the worst I've ever tried in my life. I would expect more from a place as nice as this one. Terrible. Please, I would love the restaurant to take this review as an opportunity to change or improve their dessert menu. Other than that, great place!!!! Take-out is great as well.
Today we ordered for a special birthday occasion and were greatly disappointed with the bread. You’re charged extra for bread and it’s usually fresh and warm, today it was a different bread hard and stale. I was dismissed by the person on the phone. I hope this is not a beginning of a downward spiral. The restaurant has been there for many years, but it wasn’t until recently that we discovered how great it is. The seafood rice is excellent and very plentiful. The octopus is done to perfection and served with plenty of bread to enjoy the great garlic sauce. I highly recommend this restaurant over many other Spanish Restaurants that claim to have better food. Also the service and attention to detail is far superior than any of others that charge a lot more. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food.
I don’t know what happened but I paid $20 for a charcuterie board I was so hungry I ate 2 pieces of cheese and 2 slices of meat but then remembered that it didn’t look like the pictures online. I feel like something sketchy happened where they served me something different then what they served other people. Even though staff was nice maybe someone in the kitchen didn’t care to be honest and serve the type of board that other people got. I attached a screenshot of what other people got vs what they gave me. Hopefully they can not do this in the future when they thing the customer doesn’t know any better

The food is good, but the building is a shame. There is black mold at all air vents. The lack of minimum maintaince is really sad. If you want to eat while briefing BLACK MOLD, that’s the place to go.

Arrived at 9:45 pm on a Monday and was told they only serve until 10 pm. Website hours display 12-11pm Mon-Fri. We did not appreciate to be denied service and would appreciate if the hours are up to date on the website.
Yesterday I went here with my mother and grandmother.. I ate the lamb chops and both of them shared a plate of seafood and shellfish, today they both have terrible food poisoning, and vomiting plus diarrhea.. My grandma is sick in bed and has been throwing up all night, and my mom has been with terrible stomach aches and diarrhea.. I will never ever go here again and I don’t recommend anyone ever goes here, unless they want food poisoning.. and spent 200$ for barely any food and sickness
I would of given 5 stars but the service was horrible. Took forever to take our order, had to speak to the manager because they served two other tables before us who arrived earlier. They only had two waiters and the water boy. Out of two waiters one was the manager and he was also the hostess. Also, only had one cook in the back cooking. Very disappointed on the service. The food was very delicious and great price if you order from the lunch special.
Service very good. Food not good at all quantity even worse . Price very high for the quantity and quality of the food. IM PORTUGUESE AND VERY DISAPPOINTED. SORRY
