Cute little place in Middleburg. We walked in and were immediately greeted by the very kind hostess. They took our to go order. While we were waiting, I got a miso soup and it was delicious. The sushi itself was also delicious and very fresh.

I was pleasantly surprised with this establishment as it was tucked away. We were the only customers at the time but that was perfectly fine as we just came from the spa and wanted a quick bite before hitting the road. The food was AHHHmazing and the drink was so refreshing. My husband even enjoyed the freshly made shrimp fried rice. Our waitress was super nice and not overbearing which was appreciated. When I come back to Middleburg, this is the only place I want to dine. PERIODT! And I apologize in advance for the smidget of rice pictured, it was too delicious for him to wait for a photo.

The food was incredible I had 3 different sushi rolls and all 3 were fresh and high quality. My wife had a Thai plate with a variety of samples. We both love Thai cuisine but this quickly became our favorite place. The wait staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful in suggestions.

Food was amazing. Service was good - blunt/very effective, not chatty which is fine by me. They were social distancing and wore masked. Outdoor seating available. If they are at capacity, they kinda tell you to come back in xx mins, but they have a sense of when they will empty out for the next wave of guests.

Excellent dining experience. Everyone in our party ordered something different and everything was delicious. The owner seated us and checked on us later as well as getting us drinks. Very personal service. Our waitress was fantastic. She handled everything we needed and every order was perfect. Simple environment. Indoor and outdoor seating. I recommend reservations because, I am sure, with sushi this good, it could easily fill up. The do offer take out, as well. Great place for sushi and not expensive.

My new favor dish here, “ Spicy Seafood Hot Pot”, it has scallops, clams, soft shell shrimp, tofu, egg, and veggies. I loved eating spicy, from the picture it doesn’t looked spicy at all, actually it was spicy, and according to what chef said, that the chili pastes was fresh make with more than 10 ingredients, and he only put half of the tea spoon in the soup. I will try one tea spoon next time, and I also asked for a Togo chili sauce to take home. Had my dinner here with my friends couple weeks ago, I ordered An Omakase, I often go D.C. for Omakase, so I didn’t expected much, it turned out that their Omakase was a bit surprised me!! I definitely will come back and would recommend this place for those who wants good sushi and D.C was too far...

You will see that there are 2 Thai restaurants next to each other in this city. Trust me, this one is the best Thai food. Although the place is smaller, every dish is delicious.

Sit at the sushi bar! My first visit; very fresh and unique presentations. Pictured are Angry Dragon and Cherry Blossom rolls...so perfectly prepared!

This place is amazing. I highly recommend sitting at the counter and asking what the freshest items are. The chefs are very friendly and the fish is very fresh.

I had an incredible experience at Red Bar Sushi in Middleburg, VA. The food was delicious and the service was top-notch, but what really stood out was their exceptional customer care. After enjoying a wonderful meal, I accidentally left my grey Lululemon “man purse” behind, which contained my wallet and other valuables. I didn’t realize my mistake until I was two hours into my three-hour drive home. Feeling hopeless, I called the restaurant on the off chance they had found it. To my surprise, a kind employee named Heather (I believe) answered and was genuinely determined to help. Not only had they found my bag, but Heather offered to ship it via UPS Priority to ensure its safe return. I was blown away by this gesture – it’s not often that restaurants go above and beyond like this. The fact that they took the time and effort to return my belongings speaks volumes about their character and commitment to customer satisfaction. This experience has made me a loyal customer, and I’ll be recommending Red Bar Sushi to everyone I know who’s passing through Middleburg. It’s refreshing to encounter such genuine human kindness in today’s world.

Just a quick note to echo the parade of laudatory reviews on Tripdadvisor (check them out) of this place. We just came from lunch and, oh my goodness, this was the best food we've had on the sixth day of our Washington DC/VA vacation - and that's after dining in some pretty nifty places in DC. Our son had avocado maki, and the avocado was perfect -- not under- or over-ripe, as is sometimes the case. My wife and I had the green curry and a chicken and eggplant dish, both of which were fabulous (and we've eaten a lot of Thai food, having lived in Singapore for nine years with travel in the region, including Thailand). Just. Plain. Beautiful. Food. This little place could hold its own, and more, in some of the top food cities of the world.

A cozy and friendly place. My family ordered their Thai menu items, and each dish was very good. A place that fits very well with the town of Middleburg VA. The restaurant was a big part of a great day at Middleburg.

Love coming to this place when Im in Middleburg. Great food, friendly staff, and the Sushi is top quality. Highly recommend if you are looking for asian cuisine in Middleburg!

Great spot for exceptional Japanese sushi and other Japanese dishes. The omicase is a great value and they have a lot of more unique fish available. They have plenty of non-sushi options so everyone can be happy with their meal. Service is always very friendly and helpful.

This place is a pleasant surprise. It's cozy in size and classy as a setting. The service has been great. The sushi and sashimi quality is fantastic. Checkout the specials first, there are some wonderful options. Baked lobster roll, for example, is perfect.

Nice staff and it has some outdoor tables. Really enjoyed the cold asparagus salad - it has a nice shredded cabbage? Under the veggies, and the seaweed salad. The tempura app was fresh fried with a nice little selection of veggies- zucchini, sweet potatoes, onion, and green beans. The vegetable sushi rolls were nice too.

Holy smokes, 10/10 experience. Sushi was outstanding. Fresh and every bite had multiple surprising flavors. Restaurant was extremely clean and taken care of. Manager and sushi chef both set a great vibe. We've found our local sushi spot.

We went here for a Valentines dinner on a Friday night. The sushi was delicious, service very fast, good wine selection and nice interior. The pad see ew was good but could have used more spice/flavor. Overall we’d go back!

Red Bar is sensational and by far the best sushi/Thai cuisine in the Middleburg/Aldie/Chantilly area. My husband and I have been going here around once a week for the past few years and have always had a phenomenal dining experience. The staff also goes above and beyond.

Our experience was flawless. The sushi was absolutely delicious, fresh, and gorgeously presented. The Thai entree that was ordered was perfectly prepared, very flavorful with fresh veggies and tender pork. I'm not usually a fan of pork and I found myself constantly stealing it off my fiance's plate the entire meal. The service was quick, accurate, and polite. It is a very small and very popular restaurant, make reservations even if you are going at times that you wouldn't think it would be busy. We got there as they opened and every table was full within minutes.

Best Tai food I've had thus far. The ingredients fresh and full of flavors. Our waitress was perfect 👌. They have indoor and outdoor seating.

I love fresh raw sushi and this is one of the best in the DC area. Try the “wicked tuna” roll and add sesame oil to the masago on top. Wow.

Really fresh sushi, an amazing feat this far away from major fish suppliers. Happily surprised at how good everything was. Definitly going to make this a regular place every week. If you are a seafood fanatic like me, finding a seafood restaurant of ANY kind this far away from the big city suppliers is a wonderful discovery. Highly recommend the place. We sat out on the porch on beautiful spring nite.

Went to Red Bar in Middleburg for Mothers Day. We have never been disappointed here. They were busy but handled the crowd with patience and grace. Will definitely return, we love it here!

This has to be the best Thai and Sushi I’ve had in a very long time. My wife and I got the Drunken noodles, the cherry blossoms roll, the tear drop roll, and the Tonkotsu Ramen. None of or meal options disappointed. My favorite was the spicy drunken noodles with chicken and duck.

We were pleasantly surprised with Kaya's service, she totally made the experience with her attentiveness and charm! Food and drink were great. Will definitely be back.

First time at Red Bar Sushi. Went there for dinner on a Saturday, and had a reservation, which I would recommend if you want to eat inside. They also have a nice patio area, so outdoor dining is a available. Sushi was amazing and overall a good experience. The place is kind of small, so pretty tight quarters. Also, service was slow. Be prepared for long waits between service. They only had one waitress plus a server, and it was full. Not sure they could have added another wait person with the space limitations, so you're probably always going to be in that situation in this particular space. Did I mention that the sushi was fantastic. If you're not in a hurry, and you want great sushi, this place is great.

M
Miranda Lopez

Great sushi placed tucked out of view in a beautiful little town. The dishes range from tried and true to interestingly creative. I would give them 5 stars, but like much of Middleburg, it's a bit overpriced.

D
Daniel Franco

What a nice surprise. You could say that when it’s the only game in town you’ll take what you can get but this isn’t the case. The service was good, decor was fine and the sushi was tops. Incredibly fresh.

m

The food made up for the wait. Seats were immediately available; however, the time to place and receive our order was almost excruciating. The waitress provided an excellent recommendation for the food and did not disappoint.

M
Montay Henson

We ate here twice during our week long vacation. The food is pretty standard for the fare, but it was delicious. The staff was extremely short-handed and our waitress was amazing through the fray, keeping tables clean and cycling people in and out effectively. They had some interesting sushi too.

C
Clare Kidwell

Good prices and specials but the rolls were sub par compared to other sushi places. Which explains how they can offer the prices they do. Most of them were definitely filled with cheaper items: big hunks of advocato, cucumber sticks and rice less actual fish. If you plan to eat a lot of sushi and aren't picky or price is your main concern it's not bad. but if you want quality over quantity Pick somewhere else.

**I don't recommend this place at all** I was actually on my way to the other thai but I wanted to try this new place. I'm thai food lover and this one was the worst one in DMV. The place was already crowded when I entered the door and I had to wait more than 30 mins to get seated, 8- adults were just standing being awkward. There was no proper host, and 3 servers just taking the order and food. They don't even bother to look at the new customers coming in. **Food took forever to come out !!!!!!! ** Sushi was a big NONO, not really fresh and no taste. Drunken noodle, crispy tilapia, eggplant with tofu were OK. Our papaya salad did not come out so I've informed the lady and she was going to check the kitchen. The cook came out with the salad and apologized for being so late, he also said the salad is on the house since it came out when we finished the food. When we received the check, it was charged. Our table did not mind getting charged and just paid the original and gave extra tips too since they do work hard. But just really bad service and super super super slow. The machine broke down at the end so we had to wait another minutes for credit card payment....ridiculous

Went to this place for the first time, it's a cute tucked away restaurant. When my girlfriend and I walked in we were greeted by who I assume is the manager? She asked us if we were dinning in and we said yes. She then pointed to the only server working and said she will be with you and then went on about whatever she was doing. The server was running around doing everything she could to keep up with the flow of business but the manager didn't seem to be doing much to help. After 20 minutes of waiting and the server communicating with us whenever she could that Shed be there to seat us soon. But since im a manager myself I told her to take her time I was willing to wait. But then 2 guys walked in and the manager continued to ignore us and sat them at the table we were waiting to be sat at almost immediately after they came in. The manager is the only reason we chose to walk out. I couldn't believe that happened. My ethic as a manager has always been never ask your staff to do a task that I myself would not be willing to do. And above all make sure they have the help they need especially from me and this manager was not it. No one wants to walk into an establishment and spend money when they are going to be instantly disregarded by the person in charge who's supposed to help grow the business and take care of their people. I really wanted to try this location but I don't know if I'll be back to make that attempt. A guests first time experience is very important if you want to establish a rapport and return business and this manager or whatever she was tonight is not how you do that.

Terrible service. They made an error on our order, never prepared it, that happens. But when I called to check the order status the owner’s daughter had awful attitude. We were long time repeat customers, food is good, but never an excuse for poor service and an entitled attitude. They need to remember they are serving a small community and how you treat people is important. Will never eat there again.

The worst experience. Saturday evening with the horse show in town and only two line cooks and two servers. Waited for someone to see us and get seated. Waited some 10 minutes for service, drinks took a further 15 minutes. Food order took even longer. At this point we were contemplating just leaving when the food arrived. Put simply, it was inedible. The soy sauce was pure salt, there was no low sodium option as is usual in all other sushi restaurants I have been to. In addition plastic beakers and plastic ramekins have no place in any restaurant that charges these sort of prices. Honestly, the first clue should have been that the people at the adjacent table left full plates of food and half full drinks beakers when they left. It was 15 minutes before the detritus was cleared. There was also a distinct fishy smell which is always a red flag. Never again. I do not blame the servers. They were obviously overwhelmed and management should have predicted an extra busy time and provided extra staff. If I could give them zero stars I would.

I can honestly say it’s been a very long time since I’ve had such a disappointing dining experience!! While the food itself was of good quality the service was extremely poor and made the visit unpleasant! We sat down and placed our drink and appetizer orders and main dishes a bit later, but about 30 minutes later, our main meals arrived before any appetizers! When we mentioned this to our server, she apologized and said she’d check on it, but another 30–45 minutes went by with no updates and no one checking in on us! When she finally returned and we asked for the check, she asked if we had ever received our appetizers which we hadn’t. We waited another 20–25 minutes with our card ready to pay, but again, no follow-up. Eventually, we walked to the front desk to pay and even then, no one apologized or acknowledged the poor service! It’s disappointing because the food was actually good, but the lack of attentiveness and accountability from the staff completely ruined the experience! We won’t be returning, as there are plenty of other restaurants with both great food and respectful, attentive service!

We love RBS, however their new manager / waiter (woman with short brown/black hair) is causing us to seek other establishments. First time she waited on us she forgot to put in our order. We waited for 2 hours (restaurant was busy) for her to come and say oh sorry forgot to put that in, giggle and act like there was no care in the world. We figured she was new and let it slip. Yesterday on 1/3 it happened again but at least this time she remembered to put in our mains and just forgot the apps. Her tone when apologizing is flat and gives off the impression that we are bothering her by asking for her to put in the missing food. We ordered items because we want to eat said food item, not because we think it’s a fun game. We asked to speak to a manager 1/3 (yesterday) and she said she was the manager. Sad this establishment is going down hill due to poor hiring.

Natasha

Middleburg is a joke, if you aren't flaunting your money or driving a $100k car you aren't attended to which is exactly what happened here. We were a party of 2 and the restaurant was empty. We ordered drinks, soups & then about 25 min later the waitress finally came back and asked for our mains. Another 25 min goes by and our drinks show up along with the 3 sushi rolls we ordered. We finished those and she came back asking if we were done so I asked about our mains and soups? She said "oh it got really busy and i lost your ticket". At this point we decided to just cancel the rest of the food because we had already been there for over an hour and a half. The rest of the patrons (assuming mburg locals) were attended to VERY quickly, and received their food almost immediately. Will definitely not be back.

K
Karim Atris

I sat down for dinner and it was only my table of 2 and 2-3 other small tables there. I ordered drinks and soups first and then a couple rolls of sushi and an entree shortly after. Only the sushi and drinks show up. But apparently it got busy and our orders were forgotten. So just keep in mind if you’re not a party of rich locals you will most likely be ignored and leave hungry.
