been here many times with my family and friends and we absolutely love it! best korean food in west texas! their spicy tofu soup is some of the best i’ve had, and i travel a lot. i love their bibimbap and spicy pork. mister choi and his wife are the most nicest people ever! i have never had a bad experience here and will continue to dine in at this nice establishment!

Amazing food and wonderful hospitality. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. Definitely try the fried rice and the spicy garlic edamame! I'll be back!

Very tasty. Some sushi places use a lot of batter on their fried rolls but here they do it properly with a light delicious tempura and it makes such a big difference.

The family who owns this place is AMAZING and the food is always perfect. I visit this establishment every week.

Literally The Best Sushi in Midland! Me and the wife are from SoCal so we're used to eating some pretty good quality sushi's. We've tried Sumo, Volcano & Hayashi and those were all complete trash sushi, not even anywhere close to Tokyo1's quality! The owner is also from SoCal so that could attribute as to why their sushi is so fresh and delicious (tastes just like SoCal's style of sushi... Better actually). The owner is very nice and sociable, always a great time talking to him. Food in the photo's are: - Yellowtail Sashimi (12 pc) : 10/10 - Tokyo Special (left) & Sunshine Roll (right) : 10/10 - Calamari Ring : 10/10

Not only is the food/sushi delicious, the owner is so very kind! My kids are extremely picky and he went out of his way to try making tempura chicken for them (& succeeded) (it's not on their menu). My kids loved it! I will order the spicy garlic edamame EVERY SINGLE TIME, it's so dang tasty!!! I also tried the Tokyo special roll (pictured) and I'm a huge fan. Looks & tastes amazing. I'm originally from California where the sushi is topnotch and very fresh, Tokyo1 gets a 10/10 from me! My new sushi spot in West Texas. It knocks all the others out of the park!

Definitely way better than the other Korean restaurant in Midland. The food came out fast and everything had a lot of flavor. The owner was very nice and made sure we had a good meal. I'll definitely come back. They said as they hire more people they will be expanding the menu.

There is not another restaurant that comes close to Tokyo 1! This is hands down the best restaurant in Midland! Udon and sushi are our go to and they can’t be beat! Customer service is great, it’s family friendly, but also our favorite place for date night! It’s family owned and it shows!

I just left this place and felt moved enough to write this review. First and foremost, the food is fantastic. We had the edemame and various sushi items. The fish was very fresh and each roll had a very unique taste. I would put the sushi among the best I’ve had in the Permian Basin. Owner was super nice and courteous, and I’d say was as delightful as the meal itself. I will definitely be coming back for more, and suggest everyone give it a try.

Had the Godzilla roll and chicken fried rice. Roll was amazing. Highly recommend to share. Chicken fried rice had good flavor, but a little undersalted and could do with levels of heat that you can order. ( I just added soy and asked for some chilli sauce.. Was delicious after that)

Amazing experience. We ordered the tempura udon and calamari. Udon was delicious, tempura was very authentic, and the udon had very large portion size (perfect size for my boyfriend, and perfect for me as leftovers for my lunch the next day). Calamari was also very delicious. The owner was so kind and was very nice to talk to. They also offered California rolls on the house! Definitely a great dining experience and will be going again.

Look OUT Midland Sushi scene!!! A new restaurant that throws a high and inside fastball is now here! The owner hails from California in the heart of sushi country. They are new to Midland and excited to be here! They have some dynamite Korean items on the menu as well as FRESH sushi! You will love this place. Next time I’m going to try the beef yakisoba… this visit was all about the sushi. GREAT eggrolls as well. Enjoy, Midland! Great great great sushi Update June 2,2023 WOOOOWWWWWW !!! This place was amazing! Our server was right on. The food was delicious. We tried three different types of sushi and one tempura roll. All we're outstanding. For the month of August they're doing 20% off the whole ticket. They also have other Japanese and Korean favorites. Would highly suggest if you like sushi and Korean or Japanese food you should check it out.

Tokyo 1 exceeded my expectations! The food was absolutely delicious, Hot dishes that were perfectly cooked, and so much variety. Everything tasted amazing. The service was outstanding as well. Their hot foods were great too, I kept looking around at other diners plates because everything that was coming out of the kitchen looked and smelled great. It is a small dining space, and they can be busy during lunch time, but definitely worth the wait 😋 look forward to coming back and trying more

Our sushi took a bit to come out, but you can tell it's because they take their time to make every single dish from scratch. So don't come here if you're wanting fast, over the counter sushi/food. Worth the wait. We will definitely be back.

Very friendly, super quick service. Food was great! I tried the Bibim bab bowl that comes in a ceramic bowl and it was amazing! Service was so fast, from the time we all arrived to when we paid and left we were here less than 45 minutes. 2x fried rice, plain noodles, rice bowl and 7 rolls. Quiet place to enjoy a dinner with friends!

We where new to the restaurant we loved the food and service

It was our first time there. We ordered only to be told we ordered too much by the man taking our order. LOL!!! So he took it upon himself not to put in our whole order. Wow! We ordered five sushi rolls, chicken, and rice, but he only gave us our rolls! LOL! I thought, wow, you’d think he’d want us to order from his restaurant. LOL! It’s funny but also very rude!

Small menu and place. Starter salad was gross. The food quality and taste is average, not the best but not bad. SHOCKING prices. $20 to $30 for 1 regular sized "specialized" roll. Neary $20 for tofu soup. Not worth another visit for me.

Best sushi in midland ? Fish is frozen fish , most sushi are cooked sushi ,the ramen noodles is instant ramen for $15 ?

Not going back. Was expecting something different. But I ordered Ramen look at the picture and be fooled like I was. 50c Ramen for 13$. Sushi was ok but got only 5 pieces. Edemame was microwaved. Kimchi was decent. Over all wouldn't recommend.
