We loved our dinner at Guantanamera’s! We had a drink at the bar before being seated, we had reservations and suggest making them, it filled up quickly as we were sitting there. The bartender was attentive and made a great mojito! The food was delicious, picadillo, pork with cumin spices, maduros, tostones, black beans, con gris - everything was excellent except the flan. It was very firm and dense and no caramel flavor. The atmosphere was loud and there wasnt even live music at the time! We loved this place.

Absolutely delicious food and it feels so authentic too. I had the ropa vieja and the black beans were amazing! Not too many restaurants have good beans so I can happily say that I’m glad I took mine to go too so I can have it at home a few more times. Highly recommend it 👏🏼

Great Cuban food just a few blocks aways from times square. We all left quite satisfied with the dinner. At 9 pm on Fridays (and other nights), they have a live band which really added to the ambiance.

We went on a Wednesday evening for my bday dinner. Service was great! Very friendly and welcoming. I ordered coconut mojito, which was everything I expected. As an appetizer we tried the shrimp plantain cup and it was soo deeelicious. My partner ordered breaded steak, I had the skirt steak with chimichrri sauce. We both had the white rice w/ black beans. Everything was amazing... Only one slight issue, my steak was a bit tough. It definitely could have been more tender. Price was reasonable. We also had the opportunity to see their live band. So for the price, it was well worth it. It was a great experience and we will definitely be going back in a Friday or Saturday evening as we were invited by the owner and one of the band players.

This place is 🔥. Soon as you step in the atmosphere draws you in. Live music.waiters are very nice and welcoming. The only thing I didn’t like about the waiters is that they didn’t offer water as soon as we were seated. We had to ask for water. Service was good though. The food, I gave it a 3 because the flavors could’ve been more robust as I thought it would be. But it was kinda regular. I ordered OX tails and some other things I can’t remember. And it was good but not as flavorful as I wanted. The drinks were excellent tho!!! 5 stars for that. Will be going again with my friends. The drinks and music live alone was enough for a good time and definite return. I recommend!!!

Ci sono andato sabato sera. Il ristorante era pieno, ma i tavoli erano distanti e si stava bene. C'era musica dal vivo è una piccola pista da ballo. Abbiamo mangiato bene, bevuto il giusto e ballato tanto. Il cantante ha cantato pezzi cubani principalmente, ma anche el perdón di Enrique Iglesias. A giudicare dai clienti e dalla musica direi un locale per persone dai 35 anni in su, che apprezzano la cucina cubana e ballano volentieri salsa, merengues e altri balli latini. In posto in cui tornerei volentieri

A me è piaciuto, cena cubana con le solite cose: pollo, carne, fagioli, riso, patate, qualche bruschetta, insalata, fagiolini, spiedini alla caprese, pomodori, mozzarella, ricotta e dolci... Insomma non si moriva certo di fame per 15 euro della consumazione il pasto a buffet potendosi servire quante volte di voleva. Nella saletta dove ho cenato e dove si fa musica, questa è un po' chiassosa con poco spazio per ballare. Nel complesso sono soddisfatto. Ero in una compagnia di una quindicina di persone per cui abbiamo prenotato quella sala. A chi non sa o non interessa ballare salsa cubana e bachata, consiglio l'altre sala che usufruisce comunque della musica essendo contigua e vi si affaccia. Invece a chi ama il casino e stare vicino al cantante consiglio la mia soluzione, solo che è un po' difficile parlare.

Ottima cucina cubana (parlo di 2 anni fa, adesso non lo so) e ambiente piccolo per ballare ma molto coinvolgente

Great environment to dance and let loose if you're there w/ the band. Loud music, wait staff as dance partners, owner walking around seeing if ppl are enjoying themselves, great food. If you're going on a date, sit near the middle. With family or a large group? You'll be more back (close to the band) there's also a bar up front to watch everything from. Go for a great time, good vibes, if money isn't a problem then have at it, if you're penny pinching but still want to have a great time – have a drink at the bar and watch. Dinner for two – appetizer and main course excluding alcohol could jump up to $60 - 80 per person. Large groups can easily rack up hundreds $$$ on a bill.

We had dinner here with my wife, son, and grandson 👨‍👩‍👦‍👦. We ordered ropa vieja 🥩, camarones al ajillo 🍤, two sliders with fries 🍔🍟, and flan 🍮. The service was good 😊 and the food was great — well prepared and flavorful 👌. That said, the portions felt a bit small for the price 💵📉. One thing to be aware of: a 20% gratuity is automatically included in the bill ⚠️. Because of that, we didn’t have the option to decide how much to tip ourselves. It would have been helpful to have that explained more clearly in advance 🧾👀. Overall, a good dining experience, but pricing, portion size, and the automatic gratuity are things future diners should keep in mind 🤔.

I will start this review by saying I am of Cuban heritage and was blessed to learn to cook traditional Cuban dishes by excellent cooks in my mom and grandmother. Therefore you know I'm going to be a little picker. The restaurant is nice and cozy, the staff was attentive (not always - had to wave our server down for water refills), and the food was just a bit inconsistent. Our favorites were the lechon asado, salmon and croquettes (we got ham). The not so great ones were the black beans (a sin in my family lol) and the pollo Guajira (great idea but lacked depth of flavor. Recommend marinating the chicken to achieve that). The desserts were good, although again the Tres Leches was bland. Overall enjoyed the experience. Just wish it was a little better.

Atmosfera cubana, il buffet è abbastanza completo (i piatti tipici ci sono), di domenica fanno musica dal vivo molto molto interessante. Purtroppo però per ballare è praticamente impossibile. Ideale per aperitivo o cena e poi ascoltare un po di bella musica

Menu fisso con Groupon che comprendeva antipasto misto, piatto unico di carne e riso, dolce, acqua e birra. Interessanti la banana fritta e la zuppa di fagioli da accompagnare al riso. Il resto della cena nella media, senza infamia e senza lode. Al termine della cena ci hanno gentilmente offerto caffè e rum.

Un locale dove si può ascoltare buona musica latina. Il buffet è buono anche se non c'è molta varietà rispetto ad altri locali. I prezzi nella media.

Nice atmosphere. But the Cuban sandwich surprisingly wasn’t very good. No yellow mustard in a Cuban? Very tiny portion of the ham and the pernil taste weird. Get the basics right. Put yellow mustard, add more pickles, more ham and put less but better tasting pernil. It’s Not that hard if you’re literally a Cuban restaurant

Born and raised in Cuba here. I was disappointed with the service. Server didn’t even present himself. I did not who it was until I asked. Only showed up by himself once to take the entry order but during the rest of the time we had ask him to get our main order to get the check. Saw the runner more than I saw the server. Food took good 30+ min to be served even when we were the 3rd party guests in the restaurant. My Arroz blanco and my wife’s Arroz Congris was NOT fresh (felt old, maybe the day before) and obviously reheated. I will give it 5 on the presentation, Ropa Vieja, Pollo Guantamera and Frijoles Negros, and the Mojito form the Bar was fire!! Authentic food but for the price I would expect better service and ALL fresh food.

Il locale è carino e ben curato, la musica dal vivo è coinvolgente ma la qualità del cibo, tramite coupon, è assolutamente insufficiente (il menù pesce consisteva in un trancio di pesce scongelato assolutamente immangiabile, il menu carne invece due fette di arrosto e pollo allo spiedo tipo mercato), il tutti accompagnato da riso e fagioli.

The seating arrangement wasn’t the greatest; we arrived when it was busy, so we were seated in the basement in less comfortable chairs away from the live music. The sides did not have an appetizing look; I thought it was something that came out of a can. The sauce did not go well with the stuffed chicken breast. This is basically a wannabe version of chicken parmesan. This isn’t the fault of the owners, but it doesn’t help matters when there are several garbage bags outside the restaurant especially at a place where food is served. #guantanamera #guajira #8thavenue
