10/10 service and food was awesome!! short wait time and incredible staff! I would recommend the mango lassi and vada pav. Will be coming back very soon.

We ordered the chili paneer Frankie (was good but not spicy), thecha vada pav (was good), time pass tarri pav (it was pretty good but Curry was ok), schezwan vada pav(which was pretty good and spicy) .. More of a 3.5 star You scan QR code and order the food and get the final amount thru online.. then the person comes with the card reader Service is pretty good and fast

I usually order takeout from Annapoorna Authentic Indian Cuisine or stop by for pickup. My go-to items are the Poha, paratha, tawa pulao, veg sandwich, and chai. The Poha is my absolute favorite—it tastes just like home. The quality and flavors here are consistently good, which keeps me coming back. The staff are efficient and polite, and they handle the rush quite well. If you’re planning a pickup, I’d recommend placing your order ahead of time rather than waiting to order at the counter, especially since evenings get quite busy. Even then, service is fairly quick and you don’t have to wait too long. Overall, a reliable spot in San Jose for fresh and authentic Indian snacks and meals. 📍 Note: They offer both indoor seating and an outdoor sit-out area; the outdoor seating isn’t the most comfortable, but it works if needed.

A small and cozy Indian restaurant with amicable service. I heard the chaats here are really good and I wanted to try them. We got samosa chat, batata vada, bagel puri, paneer tikka Frankie, filter coffee, buttermilk, dhai puri, Mothak and basuandhi. Out of all this we found the mothak, dhai sev puri, bel puri, and batata Vada to be the best. All four were flavorful, packed with a punch and were so good. I felt the Frankie to be a bit soggy, the basuandhi was too watery (more like a madam milk). The samosa chaat was good and I felt it could have had a little more flavor. Overall a great experience. Will go back to try more.

All the chaat items we ordered were absolutely delicious and really enjoyed them. I wouldn’t fault any of the dishes, but the overall facility could use some improvement. Better organization, more comfortable seating, and a little bigger restroom facilities would have made the experience even better. For that reason, I would give a solid 4/5

For a place that has about 10 tables, Annapurna was bursting at its seams with people waiting to get in. The ambiance was pleasant with no over the top Indian songs blaring from Youtube and decent furniture and cutlery. It does appear that, as a Maharashtrian restaurant, they decided to douse all their foods with goda masala! I noticed the continuity in the taste across the dabeli, the bombay missal paav, and perhaps even in the bhel puri! The BP was good - tangy, spicy, and sweet, and was better the next day after it had sat in the fridge. I wasn't a fan of the missal paav. The dabeli was an outright disaster the way it was served with the stuffing overflowing from the weak bread. Overall, it's one of those restaurants that become distant right after you eat, but you have cravings for a few days later.

Got to try many items on the menu and everything was really good. We ordered Wraps, sandwiches, BHEL Puri, vada pav, puranpoli, falooda, thali and so much more but we were not dissapointed with any of the items. Sabudana khichdi could've been better though. Would recommend this place for some good Indian veg food!! The service was very fast and placing the order online was very user friendly.

Sept 2025 Visited this place after 4 years. Last time I had Poha and a few other things, which were “okay-ish.” This time nostalgia kicked in and I went for the big guns—Zunka, Bhakri, and Thecha. First shocker—no option to make it spicy. Zunka came mild, almost like it was afraid of its own masala. Bhakri was so thick. And the green Thecha? Let’s just say it was a garlic–oil chutney in disguise, with the green chili lost somewhere in witness protection. Maybe I expected too much, because this is a dish you don’t find everywhere. Sadly, this round was more “meh” than “memorable.” If you’re craving Zunka–Bhakri–Thecha, lower your expectations… or carry your own green chili for backup.

@Team Annapoorna, thank you for your caring response! I am happy to share our receipt with you for verification. Please provide me with an email that I can send the receipt to. My friend who paid the bill, had to specifically ask to see the breakup of the bill. I think the system you have is for the serving staff to verbally give customers the bill amount, (from their iPads) customer pays and then the receipt is brought to them. Since we had a bit of a back and forth over the Bhakris, my friend insisted on seeing the breakup of the bill. In order to make the customer experience smoother, can the default process be to show customers the bill before payment? Just asking. Food: Vada Pav- Vada was very good. But the Pav was stale and a bit hard, served cold. When we asked our server, we were told that they don't toast their bread. We complained that the bread was stale, so he took the bread and MICROWAVED it. Which made it softer, but chewier. My friend ended up just eating the Vada. Misal Pav - Misal was good. Copy paste my comment above for the Pav. Sabudana wada - Great crunchy texture on the outside. But at the core, it was cold!!! Frozen vadas not well warmed up? Zunka Bhakri and Thecha- This was good. Especially the Zunka. Bhakri was a bit thick, but otherwise fine. Thecha- My Maharashtrian friends didn't enjoy it either because they didn't chillies, just a lot of raw garlic and onions. Puran Poli - Tasted very good. I personally didn't like the after taste/flavor of some kind of essence that was probably used, but my friends seemed to not mind it. Service: 1. When we pointed out that the Pav was stale and cold and asked if they could give us fresh pav, our waiter just took the Pav from our plate and MICROWAVED it. He could have just toasted another pav if they didn't want to put the one from our plate on their pan. The microwaving just made the Pav chewy and inedible. 2. We ordered two of the Zunka Bhakri special meals. Each order comes with one Bhakri. We ordered ONE extra Bhakri. Our order came with the requested extra Bhakri. Then a new waiter came up with THREE extra Bhakris and started insisting that we ordered three extra Bhakris and that "We HAVE to take it since we had ordered them." (Aapko lena hi padega, aapne order Kiya hai) We politely explained to him that we hadn't, and that we had only ordered ONE extra Bhakri. Even then he kept arguing with us and then just gave up and walked away in a huff. No apology. We were very put off by this rude and unprofessional attitude. Atmosphere: We went during a busy weekend afternoon, so it was pretty noisy. Tables are crowded together to accommodate more patrons. One cannot fault them for this, but don't come here for the ambience. I was quite underwhelmed.
