My order of the 4 pc spicy chicken tenders is my usual order when visiting here and have enjoyed it but something has changed. More often, the tenders are smaller and crisper.

This is by far the best Chicken-E I’ve bet been to and I’ve been to a lot!! Thank God for Trenton and his amazing chicken cooking skills! This must be his calling, please don’t ever get rid of him!!! Give him a raise, he deserves it! Instead of Chicken E it should be Chicken T!

This is my go to place for chicken. I grew up near the site of the very first KFC. Chicken-E has better quality control and taste. Wonderful value.

Tenders were great and the rk was delicious. We also enjoyed the jalapeno poppers. The dining room was closed due to COVID, and the drive thru lane had long lines, but they moved everyone through it quickly .

Have been going here for two decades now. Great food. Great service. When I was a regular, I didnt even have to order, they just brought it out and I paid.

It was great. My chicken was cooked hot and fresh. The young blonde girl at the drive thru window was very polite.

Chicken tenders were so flakey this time and fries were fresh. I felt bad tho. I showed up just before closing. They got the order out so fast!! Update: 10/21/22 Tries to get 2 orders of 7 tenders combos for individuals and it was 32 freaking dollars!!!!!!!!! Forget that!! I get prices are high but geeze

We were just there for 3 sweet teas but our experience in the drive thru today was wonderful. Both the order taker in the drive thru and the delivery young woman were extremely pleasant and courteous.

Only 5 star because typically their food is bomb dignity. Today I could totally tell and taste the difference between cooks...the food was really bland today. But their food is my absolute comfort food and they have the best ice ever. Period.

Great food when its properly cooked to order but when the teenagers are working make sure your order is correct. Fries are still gooey/cold/uncooked. Other sides are just completely missing. Its like they arent paying attention!

Top notch operation. Great chicken strips and jalapeno poppers. They are known far and wide for there sweet tea. The chicken on the bone is my favorite. A mainstay in Mineral Wells. It is sort of a rite of passage for a lot of our high school kids. My son always enjoyed working there.

They have any size drinks for .99 cents. Can't beat that

I love the fried fish snack pack with Fried Pickles! It's just the right size for me! The dining area was clean and the staff was friendly. And they have the cutest "scrabble" art piece as you walk in the door! And, of course, their ice is the best!

Always hot. Always good. Always fast. I wish all the locations were this good. I stopped at the one in Jacksonville, TX & the chairs were upside down on the tables at 7:50 p.m. SEVEN FIFTY! Man is that owner missing out on revenue. Mineral Wells stays open until after 9 & sis busy every time I walk in the door. This could be the chain's "Poster Franchise."

Really delicious. No seasonings in the batter like KFC, and I'm glad for that. This was just perfectly cooked, crispy fried chicken at its absolute best and I'm tremendously impressed. I went several times including off hours. There was never a wait. If you see a line in the drive through, go ahead and jump in. It's even faster than Chick-fil-A and tastes even better. And okra! They have okra!!!! Also delicious and perfectly cooked.

It's hit or miss here. Sometimes they are great, other times not so much. But I would say they have more good days than bad. The boneless wings (spicy nuggets basically) are surprisingly good.

My liver was cooked to long. That was the only thing I have a problem with chicken E this time. My corn nuggets and oka was good and hot .

Always missing something from my order Fries or a side.. Yes they give me credit but I would like to get a complete lunch once in awhile and the tenders are actually tenders now. Great job Manager Lady

The food is perfect every time, just make sure you check your order if you request any sauces or extra bisquits or rolls. (the rolls are awesome here!)

It’s a toss up of what rating of service you’ll get when you visit this location. Some of the younger employees seem to be disconnected or just down right angry to take an order or payment. It makes for an awkward experience when visiting this Chicken E. That’s why I couldn’t click 5 stars. What ultimately prevails is the quality of food! It’s so good that sadly I allow the bad/rude service. Credit goes to the cooks and the nice female manager that works there, I swear sometimes it seems her shift is from open to close. She’s always been extremely nice. If I’m not mistaking her name is Nancy 😊 forgive me if I’m wrong. Don’t misunderstand please, not all of the employees that take your order behave this way, there are a handful that are amazing and appear happy to be employed. I’ll continue seeing all of you, and I thank you for years of service.

It's a staple around here. Only time it ever drops in quality is when they sell more than they expect and didn't have enough tenders marinated from the night before. At that point, it tastes as bland as it gets. It has lost some luster over the years, but so have I, so not going too hard on it. All in all- solid food every time.

Food is good and fast. Service leaves something to be desired. Every time I go there they forget something I asked specifically for. I go here almost every Friday for the past four years, and order the same thing every time and yet not one employee ever acts like they recognize me. Not sure if this is because employee turnover is so high or if they just don't care. If it weren't for the fact the food is so good, I wouldn't go back.

Loved direct ordering from Chicken Express website. Driver called couldn't find address. When a dozen drivers in the past had no problem

The food is always really good and the inside of the place is always clean. The workers were friendly ,only 1 time did we have a prob with them taking longer to finish getting out are order but they apologized and was nice so no big deal. They are expensive but its a great food option place.

The chicken was warm and the fries burnt my mouth. Be sometime before I go back. Why is it so difficult for servers in the industry to figure this out.

Been a long time since I was there before this time. Seems like the chicken pieces are smaller and there was only a dollop of gravy on my mashed potatoes. Something seemed off. Seems like a higher price too.

There drinks are 4 star. Customer service could use improvement, they need to but the trash can back outside where they used to have it.

Service was lacking just a tad but overall it was ok. Employees were preoccupied in either chatting or working. Stood at counter for a few minutes while cashier was paying more attention to the other employees and food was ready before drink so had to wait another couple of minutes for that. Tables needed cleaning, trays picked up and condiments restocked. Floor had trash on it. It was around 1:45pm and there were 4 tables occupied including mine.

Three stars because everyone loves this place... I think tea is TOO sweet, and chicken is "blegh". But, good pick when I need a ton of food to feed a ton of people. (other than myself)

Yes I'd good but everytime I go thru and ask for half ice is still full of ice. Just went thru again and ordered 2 extra large sweet teas with no ice and got 2 extra large teas still full of ice.

I wish I could be more positive. I loved Chicken Express from the time it started up here in Mineral Wells. But as time has moved on, the main problem is the food is so wishy washy. Prices have went up of course, but the repeatability of the flavor of the chicken has gone way down. One time it may be good, next it's bland as can be. If consistency would return so would I. But for now, I'll go elsewhere for fried chicken.

I normally do not give poor reviews as I find it not as helpful to customers. However, I came for 2 teas, got all the way home and realized we received SUGAR WATER... this has never happened before. But, this should not happen at ALL. I realize CE generally serves WEAK tea... but, any person serving customers, needs to be mindful of quality control of their products served. We paid for sugar water. I made tea, which I didn't want to. Most likely not going to drive off without checking my tea again! Heads up CE...

This really deserves a 3.5 because of the food poisoning. Normally never have an issue with food quality and cleanliness here but my boyfriend and I got food poisoning here. YES, it was from here. We hadn't eaten all day and it was all we ate. WORST feeling. Be wary that there is a chance for illness.

I would normally give this place all 5's, but lately, I can't seem to get them to give me a drink with easy ice if I go through through drive thru. I don't go in and get my own because I'm having a hard time walking. Tonight, I ordered VERY easy ice, asked the server if it was easy ice, was assured it was, and still got 3/4 of my cup was ice when I finished my drink.

This was a one of the first places we ate at when we got to town the sweet tea was good but the chicken tenders were well.... I would say small but they would have to be tenders to actually say that there was 4 out 20 tenders that were nothing but breading that they I guess classified as a tender and while there was good ones in there at least half of the box was almost in edible. They forgot out plates and silverware we asked for which sucked because we were in the process of moving. The only reason I am giving them 3 stars is the food we could eat tasted delicious.

Th girl at the counter just ignored me when I asked for my gravy and another girl just walked right by me. This doesn't happen on weekdays!

The biscuits were cold and tasteless - I could barely chew one bite. The rest of the #2 combo meal was mediocre but edible. The employees acted angry, miserable, or both. This was my second least favorite Chicken Express experience ever (the visit involving someone else's hair takes home first prize - but that's a totally different location).

I don't understand how people keep saying wonderful customer service. The slightly heavyset young man who works the front NEVER greets us. Goes straight to "here or to go" and so on. Doesn't smile, doesn't thank us for the business. I won't talk bad of the food. It's always delicious. They just seriously need to hold a meeting about customer service.

Ordered 2 thighs & mashed potatoes, gravy & biscuit. Chicken was drier than usual & the mashed potatoes were Luke warm. Disappointing visit. Normally do much better

I ordered gizzards and fries, gizzards were way to salty, thank goodness the white gravy was good to tone down the salt seasoning, fries a little greasey like the temperature was not high enough to fry the fries correctly, friendly staff good service, just not a good experience on the food, not sure about coming back

No wonder Golden Chick is the superior chicken place in town. Went back to chicken express for the first time in a few years because golden Chick line was backed up and that was a mistake. Chicken is bad. Tiny tenders and Mac and cheese watery. Only reason I gave 2 stars is because service was good but food was awful

After resorting to eating here for the first time in over 5 years because the lines for everywhere else were too long... I was reminded that the only time the chicken should be purchased here is if you need to grease the rear end on a deuce and a half. Only consume if you're not concerned with living past 40. Not fit for human or canine consumption.

They always forget to put tartar sauce with their fish meals! This is the third time I have had this problem with this particular location… avoid it if possible.

Third time in a row that I ordered spicy chicken and was served regular. They do not pay attention at all.

My wife and I came into get something to eat. My wife has a service dog. Her service dog was not vested at the time and is not required by law to be vested. A older female employee named Anita (whos also the manger) asked if she was a service dog. My wife answered yes that she is. The lady, very rudely I might add, asked for paperwork to prove she's a service dog and informed us it was company policy to ask for paperwork. When we tried to explain to her that there are no service dog paperwork and that asking for said paperwork is a violation of the ADA she walked away with her hands thrown up in the air. A business per the Americans with Disabilities Act can only ask 2 questions when relating to service dogs. 1. Is the animal a service dog & 2. What tasks does the dog perform. Federal law trumps state law and company policies on this matter. I used to love Chicken Express but I will no longer be spending my money in a place that is unwilling to follow federal law.

We ordered unsweet yea and the tea said it was unsweet, to my moms surprise being diabetic was shocked. I'm from stephenville and I use to live here in MW. That being said, whoever is running this place now, you can see the negative performance in the staff, and the cleanliness of the store. Very disappointed in Chicken Express..

We ordered gizzards the gizzards were hard as a rock and they were black as a ace of spade old dried out ordered chicken wings they were greasy the napkin and lay it on Grease all grease they're trying to give people heart attack and I had work two jobs it was raining all the way I get home and we find our food dry old and greasy it was very disappointing and and very upsetting when you place an order through the drive-thru you trust the people working there to give you fresh hot great food I will always check my food anytime I go to any drive-thru now

Ordered a 3 piece chicken, side corn nuggets. Absolutely horrible, chicken was very dry, as though it was sitting out for a while. Corn nuggets were not cooked properly. , they were not done on the inside.

They are behind the times, most places are doing curb side services with online paying. I have tried going through drive thru buy drinks for my coworkers on my way to work, but the drive thru has been around the building. They lost my business on those days because I wasn't wasting my time in line for drinks, I would've been better off going somewhere else

Always order the chicken there. Today I decided to try the fish. Big mistake. Hard as a rock on most of it. The center was rubbery. Very disappointed. Went to chicken e again a few days later ordered a 3 piece chicken meal got back home to find only one piece of chicken. Get it together people. I won't be going there again

Cold not fresh.. my fries were cold and salty.. My chicken was dry... my okra was hard ..the food tasted and looked like it was sitting all day.. horrible food...

Very unpleasant. Went into the place on walnut creek and 287 was told it would be 10 minutes for the catfish that I ordered and was told to pull up and they would bring it to me. That was at 12:09. At 12:34 I finally walked back into this place to see fish under heat lamp and nobody making my order. I needed to get back to work( late of corse) so I decided to call the manager who then asked if I had receipt and what time was on there when I said yes and told him , he told me he had a hard time believing it took that long or there would be something wrong with the fish 2 nd time it happened in 3 weeks. So I basically called just to be told I was a liar. I won't be going back to the Mansfield location again. I can spend my money at laces that don't have that type of management

Ordered at drive thru. Ordered side of cheese sticks. Order builder dropped a cheese stick on the ground, picked it up and tossed it back in the cooling pan and proceeded to fix order, getting our cheese sticks out of pan with dirty cheese stuck which might have been served to someone else had we not said something. When asked why he did it he put his hands in the air saying "my bad". We ask for a manager, she came to window all smiles and giggling, saying he told her what happened. I said " this is no layghing matter, we were just served food out of a contauner with a nasty cheese stick picked up off the floor. She continued to laughingly smile and made us more cheese sticks, a larger order in fact, however, she wiped the pan down with napkins while she cooked the new ones, he wiped the pan down as she sacked our new ones out if the basket, but the pan was not removed from the counter which should have been step one. He never left to wash his hands which also should have happened. Sorry, we frequented your establishment quite often, but never again.

Wow, the lady in drive through was the rudest I've run into for a while! Chicken was good, but when I asked for plates and forks (we were headed to the lake) I was told they could give plates anymore!! I asked if we could have napkins and she got irritated and walked over to grab 4 napkins! We ordered a large family meal, hello fried chicken!?! Definitely won't be back.

Have been to this Chicken Express a few times and the food is usually pretty good if you eat inside, but if you order to go its terrible. Cold and gross . Tonight they gave me cold old fish. Live far enough away not worth the trouble to take back, just dumped in trash. Will not order from here again.

I went to this Chicken Express on the 3rd, and i ordered a #1 with Mashed potatoes, a roll and a Coke... when I got the food, i opened the box, and the roll was squished, and the cup of mashed potatoes was on its side, the lid open, gravy pouring out into the box. I then tried dragging the tender through the potatoes, and the tender basically crumbled into so many pieces. Anyone reading this, don't go to this Restaurant until they improve their packing skills. If you really want Chicken Express, there is a much cleaner, much faster, and much better quality Chicken Express in Weatherford!! It is worth the drive, i repeat DO NOT GO TO THIS CHICKEN EXPRESS

After a long day of competing for 3 1/2 hours, I didn’t eat at all that day so I could make weight. I wanted something to eat . I rushed to Chicken E because it sounded really good at the time. I got there at 9:55 pm and waited and waited for someone to take my order before 10, nobody did. At 10:02 I pulled to the window and there were many employees just in the back ignoring taking my order. Finally someone came and asked if we needed anything after waiting. They said they threw everything away and couldn’t serve us. I was super disappointed because I haven’t had anything to eat that day and was really looking forward to it.

Chicken express no longer has the excellent service they use to give, it’s full of disrespectful teenagers who do not care whether your order is right or not. The atmosphere has definitely changed over the years, and I wish they still had respectful people who enjoy going to work everyday. I hope management can revive chicken e again, to the full potential it use to have.

We used to eat here every weekend on the way to PK lake and then on the way home. It’s now inedible. The fries used to be delicious crispy and seasoned well, now they are soggy, cold crinkle cut. The chicken was once hot, fresh and crispy, but now is pale, bland, cold and dry.

The lady shoved my drinks into my hand and looked at me rudely. I ordered a 6 piece spicy and received 4 1/2 regular. My kids drinks were flat and fries were cold. The driest chicken I've ever eaten. The worst chicken place in Mineral Wells. People stay away from this place.

Terrible experience. Asked for a 7 piece tender meal. Got a 7 "piece" meal. Some fragments were just as big as my pinky. Got 3 mini popper and 3 cheese sticks as some of my disappointing sides...got a nice bagful of corn nuggets and a nice half full container of mashed potatoes... used to enjoy coming here but won't be doing so again. I'll purchase my chicken elsewhere from now on.
