Our first time here. The sake and plum wine were delicious. The atmosphere was relaxing, tall ceilings and dim lighting. The food was exquisite, the vegetable tempura was perfectly prepared, and we both loved our entrees. The server was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. We both plan on coming back.

The location of Kindee is perfect for so many who want to see a show at the Guthrie, especially if you need to eat gluten-free! They have so many options on their menu for Gluten-friendly, and everything was delicious! I enjoyed a small teapot of jasmine tea with my mee gati and my husband enjoyed the massaman. My dish was loaded with tasty ingredients on a pool of broth. The broth had just the right amount of spicy kick to bring the flavors to life without overpowering my palate. The massaman was also a touch spicy, but with an interesting sweetness like brown sugar inside! I think we need to keep showing this little restaurant some love because we will definitely come back!

I'm always down to try another Asian restaurant and this place doesn't disappoint. It's right by US Bank Stadium, so its an easy lunch spot before a game or concert. My pad Thai didn't have a ton of flavor, so not sure I'd get that again. Otherwise they should offer spice levels with it. The drunken noodles were delightful. The cranberries wonton were huge and great, need more cranberries! Refills were tough to get sitting out on the patio.

Overall, I have nothing bad to say about this place! Excellent Thai tea, the best cream cheese wontons I’ve ever eaten (and I’ve eaten many!), and the green curry fried rice was to die for! Everything we ordered was great, alongside quality service and an atmosphere that was lively without being too loud. Solid 5 stars!

Emily was great! She kept our waters refilled consistently and served us with a smile as well as helping us answer questions to certain dishes. Food was affordable. Place was excellent. All the dishes were exceptional!! Definitely do try out their curry and their wings!! <3 Oh! Emily even placed us right next to the outlet wall as well!! We were both super low on phone battery after a long photo shoot that day which was just excellent!!

I had a scrumptious and comfy lunch at Kindee Thai Restaurant with my family 🍲🥘 A short walk from the Mill City Museum. There are clean and spacious bathrooms to the right of the entrance door. Large vegetarian selection. I ordered Pad Thai and it matched my taste buds! My mom ordered level 5 spicy green curry and she absolutely loved it—just the right amount of spiciness. Quite obviously, buying an iced Thai tea is a must everytime I go to a Thai restaurant (because Thai teas can do no wrong). I’d say their Thai tea was okay, nothing out of ordinary. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of 5 stars.

Food was full of flavor! Servers were very polite and tended to our table often.

Best meal I’ve had in a while. Fried spring rolls, drunken noodles, and Riesling were all divine and service was speedy and friendly. Great spot to hit before the Guthrie.

Laiman was such a great server! The food is always great here! I love sitting by the window and watching all the cute dogs walk by.

The food was delicious! Went with a group, and everyone ordered different food (soups, curries, noodles, etc.); all were happy with their meal. The service was good- friendly and attentive. Note if you go with a group: they will not split tabs in groups of 7 or larger.

The vibe is casual but also a great place for date night. Our server, Esther, was very sweet and welcoming. She suggested the Mai Thai drink and it was really good! My husband tried two of their Thai beers which he enjoyed. The Money Bags appetizer was out in a timely manner; it was flavorful and crispy. Definitely a must! I got the Pad Thai omlette because it looked interesting. I got chicken and tofu (but should've done chicken or shrimp alone). The dish was flavorful and I enjoyed the noodles. My husband had the Drunken Noodles with shrimp and it was my favorite. He ordered it spicy but not overpowering. Very flavorful and the shrimp were big. Totally recommend!

Food and service was excellent. I’ve eaten a ton of Thai food all over and this was in the top five. Spring rolls w shrimp were excellent as was the Yellow Curry.

Walked here on my lunch and was super impressed. I ordered paid and got my food within 12ish mins. Got the pad thai and egg fried rice. I wasn't expecting peanut in the pad thai but unexpectedly it was very tasty was a level 3 for spicyness. The egg fried rice though is a 10/10 you need to get.

Kindee Thai Kitchen in Minneapolis is a gem for Thai food lovers! My partner and I recently visited and were delighted with our experience. We ordered the drunken noodles and pad thai, and both dishes were bursting with authentic Thai flavors. The drunken noodles were perfectly cooked, with a great balance of spice and savory flavors. The protein was cooked to perfection and the fresh veggies added a nice crunch. The portion size was generous, making it perfect for sharing. The pad thai was equally impressive, with a sweet and tangy sauce coating the noodles, tofu, and veggies. The crushed peanuts on top added a nice crunch and depth of flavor. Overall, Kindee Thai Kitchen exceeded our expectations and we can't wait to return to try more of their delicious dishes. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a taste of Thailand in Minneapolis!

Perfect lunch spot! Service was fast, food good and more than fair prices considering it's location. I actually appreciated the slightly smaller portion sizes. Was full but not stuffed and didn't need a doggy bag. Would come here again anytime!

Great service. We went there around 4pm and it was perfect. Great outdoor seating, and our food was brought out pretty quick.

This is by far the best Thai I’ve found in Minne, and one of the few that actually has yellow curry, and it’s amazing!!!

Green Curry and Drunken Noodles both very delicious. Also fresh spring rolls were wonderful.

A cute place, with delicious food, located a block from the Guthrie! The pad Thai, cranberry cream cheese wontons and plum wine were delightful!

This place is DELICIOUS. My wife and I came in for dinner. We haven't been here in a long time. I got the Pad See EW and it was the best Thai dish I have ever had. It was perfect. The flavors were alive in my mouth during ever bite. Huge shrimp, delicious Tofu. The perfect noodles....Yummmmm. I could go on and on. My wife had the duck curry. She isn't a huge fan of duck, we've learned. But the curry seasoning and flavors were all there very boldly. We ate and we ate. No room for dessert. The service was excellent. Our food came fast and it was hot. I wish I took a photo of it. But it smelled so good I started eating instantly. Kindee is our new Pre-Guthrie date night tradition. It is right across from the theatre. You can park in Guthrie parking and walk over and eat. Then see your show.

Panang Curry hits the spot on a cold winter day. Delish!

Went there last night and had a great experience. We sat outside with a nice view of the Guthrie. The 4 of us enjoyed different meals, from a hot pot soup cooking at our table, some pineapple cashew fried rice, awesome spring rolls, a fried noodle dish and 2 different curry dishes. We enjoyed it all. If you like heat you can get it here and for me I got no heat which I like. Dog friendly outside eating. We will definitely go back and when it gets cold do take out.

Really tasty Thai food. Quick service that was friendly. Convenient if you're going to the Guthrie.

Stopped in here before going to a show at the Guthrie, not realizing there was also a big festival happening nearby. We were promptly seated and greeted. Our server apologized for how busy it was but still took great care of us. Our appetizers and drinks came out quickly, and our entrees came out just in time when we were finished with the appetizers. The food was delicious, and the service was fantastic, even for being a busy day! We will definitely be back!

R

Food was absolutely delicious, took a little while but you know it was made fresh and we were given the heads up. It was well worth the wait. And our server was attentive and very sweet!

S

Very tasty food, served extremely quickly despite the restaurant being quite busy due to a concert at the nearby US Bank Stadium. I stumbled on it the first time, but I will seek this place out for my next event at US Bank Stadium.

C
Chris Koepsell

The Roast Duck Curry was jaw dropping delicious. I could not believe how much flavor they could pack in to one dish. I will absolutely be ordering from here again.

S
Steven Pruden

Really enjoyed the coconut curry and crab fried rice! Service was fast and friendly.

M
Michael Burger

Being fair, we went at a very busy time, which probably impacted the service, but it took a while to get our order put in and took a while to get the check. However, the food was excellent and the prices were high, but not outlandish. I paid the same just yesterday for food that was half as good somewhere else. The patio seating was lovely and the pineapple fried rice was amazing. If you're needing a light meal near The Guthrie, its a great option.

Even after seeing so many one star reviews I tried this out because my wife recommended and to my surprise I had good food. Not sure why they got low ratings. The food was put on table really quick and it was delicious. I liked each and every item we ordered. There is no one item that would go less on taste. We ordered tamarind wings and they were delicious. Fried rice was spot on and drunken noodles were amazing. stir fry cashew chicken was exceptional, there was some gravy in it and I loved it. Fried spring rolls are a must to try. The only point I would raise is- entrees portions were small compared to the price. But it’s downtown restaurant and inflations is high so who knows. But overall this is a must try restaurant.

A

Drunken noodles were okay, it felt too thick. Also, $6 additional for 5 pieces of shrimp is a little pricey.

S
Sarah Good

I always go to Kindee for takeout. It's great Thai food and have a timely turnaround - sometimes hard with takeout orders spiking recently to find a place with food ready in 20 minutes. I consistently get the yellow curry and the spring rolls!

L
Lauren Aust

Perfect lunch spot or meal before a show at the Guthrie. Would recommend the Cream Cheese Wontons, fresh shrimp spring rolls, Broccoli & Peanut Curry, and Pomegranate Oolong tea.

T
Thuy Kim

I'd recommend the fried vegetables as appetizers and the green curry and basil tofu dishes as entrees. Pad see ew was fine with the redeeming quality of a good wok hay (taste from being cooked in a seasoned wok). The Tom yum soup was very unsual- oddly sweet and lacking spice and sourness. Papaya salad was bland without any hint of spice or sourness either. Portion sizes were a bit small and not really meant to be shared.

C
Crystal Vrieze

My husband really enjoyed the basil dish he had, but I had the pad thai and I wasn't very impressed. It tasted like sugar ketchup sauce. Its a hit and miss at places with their pad thai , and this one was a miss. Tables and accessibility to walk thru is a bit kadiwancass, to say the least. Service was fine and they were friendly.

W
Will B

Food wasn’t great, but I’ve had worse. We had spring rolls and pad thai. Asked for ‘extra chicken’ and got probably 1/2 to 1/3 of what you’d get at most other thai places. If you get takeout from Amazing Thailand and order pad thai w chx, you get a TON of chx. Life hack! Don’t like the default tofu in Kindee’s pad thai, even though that is arguably authentic. Not sure. I think with so many thai places in the cities we have found others that are more reliable than here. But it was relatively cheap and quick. Just goes to prove the age old economics phrase: fast, cheap, quality, pick two. The two here are fast and cheap

L
Lysa Price

Meh. Super disappointed. The portions were super small. Like shocking that the butternut squash curry had maybe 3 small pieces. Same with the noodle dishes. Charge me more and offer me enough food to be satisfied. The flavors were authentic and good. Zero ambiance.

Before going to this restaurant, you should know what is across the street from it (the Guthrie Theater) and who frequents the performing arts - people of a certain, shall we say, vintage, generation. If you are under 55 you will bring the average age of this restaurant down on show night, which is most nights. The food as such is geared towards people whose taste buds perhaps aren't as sharp as they used to be, so the typical bold flavors of Thai food are a bit subdued here, as are portion sizes. The plating is also very much geared towards having your own dish and not sharing. If that's what you're going for in a Thai restaurant, go for it. If you want something a little more adventurous, take 94 East to University Ave and find a place over there.

Steps from the Guthrie, Miles from Flavor We started with the fried spring rolls—crisp but unremarkable. I ordered the pineapple fried rice with pork. Unfortunately, the pork lacked any seasoning, as if it were an afterthought rather than an intentional component of the dish. The rice itself was similarly underwhelming—even the cashews were bland, offering no texture or flavor to elevate the experience. It felt as though the entire dish hadn’t even been introduced to salt. My dining partner had the pad Thai with pork, which suffered the same fate: flat, flavorless, and uninspired. While Kin Dee boasts a convenient location near the Guthrie, it falls short where it matters most—on the plate. If you’re looking for a satisfying meal before a show, you may want to look elsewhere.

Note to self: don’t be the last table in the restaurant. Went there tonight as the area of town is dead and not many choices. They almost did not seat us as they said they were thinking of closing early. But sat us as they loudly stacked the remaining outdoor tables. Took a long time to get menus - which does not make sense - if you want us out of there we need to order. We had fried spring rolls which were ok and then I had a curry soup, which I asked to be mild - ended up being not very tasty. But the more I ate, the more I liked. Not what expected as could not taste coconut at all and light on curry. But to be honest, I ate it all. My husband had the Thai basil stir fry and did not love it. So, we had to search for a replacement dinner on the way home to our hotel in a part of town that the streets roll up at 8 pm. Had a better dinner there once before. Crossing off our list.

The best part of our meal was the waiter; who was warm and authentic. However, the meal was very Americanized. The quality of the food compares to that of a TV dinner. We ordered the Larb (w/beef), fried spring rolls, and thai tea (see picture). My sister had an upset stomach despite the fact she had not eaten much.

I'm a fan of Asian cuisine so this place was right up my alley . Unfortunately when when my dish came it was a big disappointment. They maybe managed to put 3oz of meat in my dish, my rice dish was flooded with "juice" watering down my rice. The food taste was lack luster. The Pad Thai was decent but the patio area was nice to sit out and the people are friendly which is the only reason I gave 2 stars vs none. I would walk a few blocks farther for Sawadee which had amazing Thai food. I will not be coming back here especially for a bill of $45 which didn't include tip...

Gotta be the blandest Pad Thai I’ve ever had. I ordered a 4/5 spice level but it tasted like white bread

Had dined in 2 years ago and had great service. Food was mediocre then. Thought we would give this place another try and order takeout for a small picnic. The order was ready for pickup at given time. However, food was very 1 dimensional and flavors were lacking. Fried spring rolls, papaya salad, pad see ew were disappointing. The Thai basil stir fry was the only dish that was okay but portion was small. The most appalling dish was the fish lettuce wrap ensemble. It literally looked like left overs and the deep fried tilipia smelled extra fishy. My husband and I didn't dare to eat it. Overall, a very sad dinner and money wasted. We don't see ourselves as returning customers.

Lousy service AND no toilet paper in bathroom. Upon inquiry they stated that they don’t have TP due to supply chain issues and proceeded to hand me the napkins that come with your takeout order to use instead. I paid and left immediately. This MUST be a health violation!

Worst server ever. It was me, my wife, newborn son, and a friend visiting MN for the first time. We stopped for appetizers as i couldn’t stay long with a newborn baby. Server was off while greeting us. We didn’t order drinks, server gave us a look and took the drink menu away with an attitude. While serving the first plate, the server rudely dropped the plate on the table and didn’t even apologize, but placed the other ones gentle and carefully. As we finished our appetizers i requested our bill, there was an unhappy look maybe because we didn’t purchase more food. I tipped less than 20% as we only had 5 small plates delivered and didnt have ant drinks. While leaving i said thank you to the server. The person replied “ WHATEVER!!” And walked away. What the heck.. what did we do to deserve this. We felt very uncomfortable. The food was really good. GET RID of that server please even its is the manager or owner. Otherwise you will lose many customers in the future.

This is strictly about our service experience on Valentine’s Day. We had a reservation, only to be sat at one of the worst tables in the restaurant. Not only was it freezing cold by the door, but also, constantly busy with servers going right behind my wife’s chair. Annoying. Other tables were clearly open in the back, so I asked to be moved there. I was told, “No, it’s full” by server. I then watched two couples that came in after us being sat in the open tables that we requested while we waited on our drink order. We left and ate across the street at a nice table at Farmer’s Kitchen. Thanks, Kindee Thai. 🙄

We ordered the pineapple fried rice with chicken. We counted 2 small chunks of canned pineapple and 4 small pieces of chicken. Rice was tasteless. Too much rice with very little of the dish's namesake- PINEAPPLE or chicken. We had eaten here a few years ago and the entrees were delicious. Never again.
