Food is delicious. I love the sal picon but other dishes have so much flavor.
Good hot food, delicious, couldn't waite for the food to cool down to eat it, plus polite & good service.
Always one of my go to each time I’m back in town, best pupusas
Love!!! Good food, im Mexican love the popusas here, always made fresh to order.
The food was good for the most part, just a piece of sweet bread(quesadilla) it did not taste like authentic salvadorean quesadilla
Tasty food, great service. Tried their pupusas mixtas and were just as expected, freshly maid with plenty of curtido and tomato sauce.
What else can I say. The place is a hidden Gem. Thank God for having MESTIZO in our community. If you want to go to a place that feels like home , look no further. -IF
Great Salvadorean place. I am Mexican and when Salvadoreans recommend a place to.eat of their native place you listen. Great pupusas, caldo de pollo is awesome, jukebox, beer, intimate. Go.
Amazing cooks... Great authentic salvadoran food! _make sure you order over the phone before you go if you don't wanna wait to long.
Wow, I can believe how classic flavor of there food, please don't hesitate to and ask for anything, overall try this particular plate call El Mestizo, and published as I did
Good service but food takes a looooong time. Order on phone if adequate. Pupusas are the best here.
The Salvadorean food is wonderful! Pupusas, horchata, tamales, pasteles, chilate con nuegados, and empanadas are are simply DELICIOUS!
I thought the place was great food was awesome and had a great time with my friends
Has great food and the pupusas are delicious, I recommend this place to anyone who has not been here before♡.
Clean place, Great food, awesome service!
Service is great and friendly. Fish tacos are the bomb and the micheladas superb.
This is such a nice little place with friendly staff and with really delicious, well prepared and reasonably priced meals. This is one of those small independently owned restaurants that is a little gem that enriches our community. Delicious.
The food is delicious, the staff was friendly and polite, and the food came out in a timely matter. My daughter is Autistic and very picky with her food, and she loved the pupusas. I will be returning often.
I came here twice already and both while washing next door and all the food I've ate here has been extremely good! I bought pupusas last time and they're bomb and this time I had a carne asada burrito and wow let me tell you this place is a gem and the lady is always nice!
Today's experience was 💯! I ordered sopa de gallina. It was fresh and exquisite. Keep up the good food. We need authentic and good tasting food in our community. Thank you.
My family and I have been eating at this restaurant since 2001 we just love the Pupusas and we've introduced them to many others throughout the years. We're a mixed family and we have no Latin blood in us but we're thankful for the amazing people food.
this place has the best pupusas not oily at all very well stuffed ... the cheese pupusas has a really good taste other places the cheese taste so bland the ladies that prepare the food are always washing their hands.also .. the coctel de camaron is good .. On wednesday and thursday they have pupusas at $1.99 👍👍
This place has the best pupusas in the valley. I’ve been to several restaurants in the valley, and I am always disappointed with the taste. I recently had the revueltas from this place, and I was impressed. I recommend them.
This is a great little spot, the food may take just a little bit to come out of the kitchen but when it reaches your table its a delightful sight. The food presentation is wonderful and the taste is just as good. My go to dish here is their Sopa de gallina (chicken soup).
The pupusas are piping hot...yum! I showed up an hour late to my house after work, and they were still steaming. Satisfied customer here.
Gave this spot a try after a friend recommended their $2 dollar pupusa deal. Was not disappointed at all! My new go to spot for salvadorean food.
My family and I were itching for some authentic Salvi food so we started yelping around and ran into Mestizo. Being that its a bit far we still went over amd tried something new. Man was it worth it. They have fresh atole de elote right in front of the register. I myself got the Mestizo which included a flavorful and well balanced portion of casamiento, pico de gillo and queso fresco. My daughters were ecstatic about the chan and the horchata! We missed the Thursday and Wednesday special for 1 dollar pupusas. They have an old school music player that is still working with a nice selection of music. This restaurant is family owned and is operated by friendly staff members who are down to earth and very friendly. They take pride in ensuring that my family was happy with our food and our visit. The price to portion value is great and I would recommend this hidden gem to anyone who wants to eat some authentic Salvi food. Worth the drive and every penny. Thank you Mestizo!! =>
Love there pupusas!!! Especially on Thursdays they're ONLY $1.00 but they're custoner service is also so welcoming and loving!!!! If youre looking for a nice place for homemade food then this is the place to go!!!!
Food was amazing I wish I didn't live so far I would come here every week for lunch their food is fresh when you order it and it came out piping hot!!! Peaceful to sit in for lunch and take your time to enjoy their well prepared meal
Pupusas were not soft enough they were burn cheese on the sides and crunchy i never have them like that before and also didn't provide tomatoes souce.
Best curtido around, and the pupusas, made to order, are some of the least greasy I've ever had. They've recently expanded the menu, but I still go just for the Salvadoran specialties.
Got pollo en crema and it was solid. I would come back to try another plate
The ladies serving are pleasant and nice. The food is delicious. I try something new every time I visit! You can't go wrong, food is always made fresh to order.
Love this restaurant !!I've been coming for years and the food is great !!specially the salvadorian tamales and pupusas plus there horchata!!
This place is by far the greatest Salvadorian food place I have eaten !! Not only do they serve salvadorian food but Mexican as well. The food is Great! Service Amazing !! Love the Music. Best wet burrito ever "Got to try it" . Yucca and chicharon, platanos fritos and even the pupusas are really good . I will be returning soon . Eat here u won't regret it .

Food was absolutely DELICIOUS!!! Sorry was so hungry no pictures of food. Ordered Bean and Cheese Pupusas, Asada Nachos, and Huevos Rancheros. Everything was perfect!!! I especially loved that the pupusas were not at all greasy. The hand made tortillas were perfect so yummy and perfect thickness. I will be going back very soon. Also had a left over pupusa this morning for breakfast with eggs and just as good the next day!
Love their pupusas! Their customer service is always great. Highly recommend them :)
Nice place to eat. Very good service from the cashier guy!! Not owner litle to hard.. flavor its good . Mexican / salvadorean. Try the pollo en crema...
Been coming here for many years. The pupusas are good. Hits the spot. Could use more filling in the revuelta to make it even better. They have a special on Wednesdays and Thursdays for dollar pupusas.
Great popusas didn't eat there but maybe next time

Great cheese pupusas, wonderful tamales. This is what Salvadoran food is all about
One of the best Salvadorian restaurants in my opinion. Customer service needs help but the food is great!
The food is really good, I try la sopa de pata and the pupusas de Calabasa con queso.
Love their pupusas. 1 dollar a couple of days during week (weds and Thurs?) Ask :)
They have pretty good food 😋 is a mix of Salvadoran and some Mexican food. Is not too big inside but is pretty cozy.
We ordered beef soup and chicken stew with rice and beans. The food was very delicious, however we had to wait a while to eat.
Te good is delicious but they play music from rockola very loud and you feel like u are in any bar.
A very nice place. It reminds me of the Euro Cafe in Claremont. Overly crowded with abundance of people on the 4th of July except was extremely happy that the restaurant was open. Thank you!
When you come to this place be prepared to wait and that because the food is made to order and you can tell because it is delicious. They have really good papusas and there burritos are good too.
I love that they will make vegan pupusas (bean and loroco) and their Chan is nice. Great ambience inside as well; very quaint. Ladies are very nice as well.
I had the mojarra frita, rice, and beans, with a side of platanos fritos. Everything had good flavor and was very tasty. The service was very friendly and although small, the place was clean and had a good atmosphere. I was impressed they had beer on draft and a good selection of bottled beer as well. Also, they have a fresh juice bar than I will try next time. I may take some friends back to try a draft beer and listen to some Salvadorian music on the jukebox. It's a little hidden gem, ill be back.
Food was delicious! With home made tortillas, that was the last little touch. They have a good selection of food and they serve BREAKFAST ALL DAY! And they sell alcohol.
We bought lots of dishes to try, we loved some and some didn’t. The customer service is great. The food is tastie and delicious. The indoor is good but it can be cooler especially with this summer heat.

Very kind service members. They made us feel like family from the time we walked into the time we walked out. We can't wait to eat there more often
I love the food here it’s really good but the wait is so long. I would come here a lot more if it was quicker service. My online order took 50 minutes for two plates

Food was delicious. Although the wait was a bit long. Would benefit from chips and salsa.
The food is great, the wait time for food is not the best.
Food was great and the atmosphere was upbeat, but I think the prices were high
Really small and not kid friendly whatsoever, but the food is pretty good. If you have claustrophobia this is not a place for you. We call on our orders and pick them up.
my mother likes this place , I think its okay. $4 for a pupusa. The curtido needs something
The food is decent. For years, I have been coming to eat here. However, the lady who takes the orders is absolutely rude and uncooperative. I think the restaurant would bring in more customers if they replace her.
Came today and this girl with tattoos helped me and for real she’s a rude person and the one with black hair cleaning the tables is just like her.. big NoNo Thanks to the cosinera and the guy at front…. This girls should learn from them
Good food, bad customer service I am a common customer of theirs yet this is like the 5th time they made a mistake on my order this time I stood up for myself and it looked like the owner was there and they gave me an extra pupusa. The other time they asked if they wanted the chef to come to my house and give me the food that I ordered. This was a not-so-good experience.
There was only 2 workers when i went inside, and the lady helping me was rude, she was talking to other person while helping me and took like 20 minutes to give us our food and we were the only customers inside. Would not recommend Ps, i got a tummy ache 30 minutes after i ate the food 🤢
Maybe I’m being nice but this place is a solid 3. The rice and beans were over cooked and burnt and no flavor. The salsa for the pupusa I order had no flavor sadly and to top it off little overpriced but then again that’s everywhere I suppose. What was good was the eggs, the platano frito, the hand mad tortillas and the pupusa with cortido. Over all it’s just an okay place.

Pupusas were good good flavor but too thick or too much masa the restaurant one of the cleanest and uncluttered when it comes too salvadorian eat outs otherwise i would recomend server good time to make food is understandable no complaints thanks
Had pupusas revueltas, +$4 each, they are pretty mid, and honestly it felt like they were rationing the insides. Could definitely get better elsewhere. Just stopped by on the way, look like a nice homie place. But it was just awkward in there. Super quiet, can’t remember if there was no music or just super low. Wouldn’t recommend.

Food is good and reasonably priced. After coming here for years I've grown tired of the rude server/owner. I ended up regretting spending my money here.
I've been coming to Mestizo for years after being recommended by Familia. Unfortunately a new chef/cook has been assigned and the food quality has declined. My dish of choice is always a traditional salvadoran breakfast and disappointed is to say the least the casamiento was so salty my husband and I could not finish our food, tortillas were never provided 😕Waitress apologized after the fact but to be honest the staff was not very welcoming or accommodating. Price is no issues I am willing to pay for good food when it's freshly made and delicious not sure what happened to the old staff but I will definitely not be coming back.
Good pupusas. I really like the spinach, shrimp and cheese ones. Be sure to call in your order ahead of time. Takes about 40 minutes for your order to be ready 😒
Food is good, service is slow waited a near 20 minutes for food to go, seems like other waited about the same. Customer came in after my order and they were served quickly. Which was annoying.
I love to buy the fried bananas with beans and the handmade tortillas are delicious but today I bought a asada burrito and bistek encebollado and was not so good. They gave me old, dry, crunchy rice and the meat had no flavor. I needed to add salt on the meat and I didn't eat the rice. But then my son told me that his burrito also had the nasty crush rice. You can't fixed that. How can you pay like $7 dollar and get a nasty burrito with dry nasty rice. Please make sure you are giving your customers great food since it suppose to be like homemade, that what you are advertising and that's why we ask customers pay more for it.
I wanted to make this place my usual place to buy pupusas but that’s not going to happen. The rice pupusas were so hard, I’ve never eaten pupusas that were that hard. The soup was so so but there was barely any meat, mostly bones. Maybe they have other dishes that are good but I won’t dare to try them from here. I paid way too much to be eating food that I’m going to throw away. Another thing, it’s better to order over the phone, if you’re ordering in person and they get a phone call, they will take the call and leave you feeling like a dummy because they’re too busy taking orders over the phone.

Waited almost an hour to get our food, it was salty, greasy, small portions (steak), i was excited to try this place since they have almost every authentic salvadorean dish in their menu, ended up disappointed

The worst food I have ever tasted. We threw it away because my animals wouldn't eat it.
The pupusas aren't that good ... the revueltas tasted really bad !!!!!.....definitely not going back for pupusas here too pricey and not good
Cold coffe, pupusas no flavor and beef plate overcook it was hard my cousins plte beans tasted burn
Got a carna asada burrito that had old burnt meat in it.black beans instead of refried like I ordered and the rice was overcooked.had a friend of mine who went back who was not white and ordered the same thing and it wasn't bad like mine.i believe this place is racist to white people.thisnis the third time I've had issues here.never going back and I'm recommending you don't either.
This place sell pupusas they called revueltas but all the put in it are beans. If you want good pupusas go to mi casita salvadoreña on vanowen in van Nuys, those are real pupusas.
Ordered food from This place and it took one hour for the food to be ready this is a bad really bad service . Food is great but service always had been the worst they take forever !!!
I used to come very often, but today was horrible service they took forever to make my order cashier was on her phone most of the time, I give them 1 star
Fish soup was way too greasy. Sadly the two ladies working that Saturday afternoon were cranky and they were rude. No good experience :(
DO NOT COME BUY HORCHATA HERE !!! It’s more ice than horchata as well as the menudo is disgusting and old!! Go instead down the street to Rayen and Sepulveda better customer service !!!
Over Charge me $200.. Pupusas weren't good anymore. It's a shame.. and its been 1 week and still haven't gotten my money back..
Ordered the carne asada. Out comes the thinnest, most overcooked slice of carne asada I've ever experienced.
Food took forever. When I went to the front to ask how long it would take they decided to tell me they were out of food items we had ordered and already been charged for. One person got an albondiga soup... as in only one small albondiga in the whole soup. Played music on the jukebox, volume was off. We asked if they could turn it up and by the time they did, our 3 songs were already over. Then I ordered empanadas and nobody knew if they had any. The lady rings me up, the lady in the back says they are out, they go back and forth only to find 2. Just unorganized and the food wasn't even worth the wait.
I order 8 pupusas I told her give me the regular ones not the ones on special they burly had anything inside I told them to put them in two boxes they give it to me one box till I told them to change it they didn't even Mark The Box how am I supposed to know which one is which bad service
We went yesterday at this place, we ordered it and we have to wait 45 minutes even the place was empty I ask for soup of albóndigas but it was mixed with beef and I don’t like the beef, the taste it was so disgusting, also the vegetables it was uncooked the only thing it was good it was the pupusas but also the actitud of one of those employees it was so horrible!
I ordered some chilaquiles rather then putting sauce for chilaquiles they put tomato sauce for Pupusas, I had to throw it away it was disgusting, they could of just said they could not make the chilaquiles could have ordered something else.
Horrible service!!!! I bought lot's of pupusas and they gave me 6 oz of salsa that taste like water no flavor. They are not nice. They should be grateful that they're open during this hard times an we are buying food so the business survive. I will never go there. It's so sad that a smal Latino restaurant do not have Good customer service.
Over price!! Tried once, never again.
The place looks dirty. They should hire someone to mop and clean. The glass hanging upside down for wine looks very dirty. Like, they should be hanging clean ready to be used. It makes me wonder what's going on in the back. I guess it's a third world experience, haha!
Asada burrito was so bad ! Meat was so burnt and too much Salt. Found another review from Jeremy way below that said same but I'm Mexican and got the same bad burrito. This place is More like 75%Salvadoran Foods. Breakfast plates are good and Platanos Machos too. Call dirty minutes before arriving to have your order ready. They may Take a while.
The lady / B**** who works there as cashier is so rude she treats me with a huge attitude when i go there to patronize the place I usually spend around 15 by myself kept going back even after finding hair in my food multiple times no apologies she always seems very mad and Yells at customers she has no respect for the loyal customers who have been going there way before she started working there she always forgets to make my fresh orange juice then yells at me when i ask for a refund I ordered empanadas for my Grandma the oil they cooked it in was disgustingly rancid , I asked her to take the item back she said no!!!! Because that's how they serve the empanandas and that nobobody else complains about it. She is just a rude Vieja amargada Odiosa she literally Rolls Her Eyes at me and other customers Stay Away if you want Good salvadorean food go to Pupuseria Metapan off Sherman way they have the Best pupusas best breakfast and best Service . or u can also go to El Ruby .if u go to El Mestizo be ready for a 30 minute wait at least teriible service no clean tables and bad bad mean terrible attitudes from the server / cashier she's always there except Monday and Tuesday sometimes
Terrible food make me sick (food allergie) for 2 days they serve me Old meat not only one time two time I am done with this place if you wanna get sick !! Try carne asada (beef steak) ================================ La comida terrible me enferma por 2 días. Me sirven Carne vieja no solo una vez, dos veces. ¡Ya terminé con este lugar si quieres enfermarte! Prueba carne asada
Esto no es comida salvadoreña. The plátanos tasted hard and terrible. The eggs had 0 ingredients. No green pepper tomatoes no onions nada and the beans were SOOOO dry. I felt like I was eating someone’s left overs. I high recommends never coming here if you’re looking for authentic salvy food

I really, really, really wanted to give this place 5 stars because their pupusas were really good. I ordered the pastelitos as well and unfortunately there was a very long dark hair inside of it where there masa breading was. The food was good, but for this reason alone I won’t be going back here because I don’t feel hygiene was taken into consideration when cooking my food, especially during these times in the pandemic.
