Brooke Goff, owner of Domke Market knows her wine! I've been a Domke Wine Club member for years! She has taught me so much about the many options in vino. I like the fact that she knows how to pair, so if I am hosting a dinner party, all I have to do is ask what wines should I serve! She has some precious gifts for all occasions. Definitely stop by, meet her and the staff and have a glass of wine! The market has tables that are perfect for meeting clients.
Domke Market is such a great little spot. Somehow if never noticed it until tonight. I'm going to be coming back soon. They have a huge selection of wines, bubbly, beer, cheeses, chocolates and so much more. What I really loved was how they welcome you to bring in your own food from wherever you love and and hang out in their cute shop. They have plenty of tables and chairs for the whole gang. The prices are great they range from low to high so anyone should be able to find a perfect fit. THEY DO NOT CHARGE AN UNCORKING FEE. Pick up some tacos from Villa Del Rey Cocina Mexicana just a few doors down and enjoy a bottle of wine or beer in this sweet shop, you'll love it.
My husband and I went here for a romantic evening And we were extremely impressed. The food was incredible. The ambience was incredible. I was super happy and we had the best time we’ve had in probably 16 years. If you have not tried this restaurant I highly recommend it. Make sure to make A reservation because it is highly sought after!!!
Packed!! Glad we got a reservation! Only got pics of the antipasto we ordered, & almost forgot to do that🤦♀️🤷♀️😂so delicious 😋 various deli meats & marinated vegetables, we added the assorted cheeses! Charcuterie! Yummo! Hope to be back soon, try some other dishes! Pastas were🤌the penne with fried eggplant was amazing! The sides were all so delectable... grilled mashed potatoes, I know just try it!, grilled peppers, zucchini, eggplant, so good, the salad was huge! Ok, point is, it's quite incredible Italian food! Service is nice & helpful, but they’re simply packed, so pack your patience! It's worth it😊oh😳 Tiramisu😍❤️deliziosa! None like this around these parts...😋
Amici was amazing ! The atmosphere is clean and refreshing. I had Tagliata and Antipasto Italiano w/ a smoked Old Fashioned ! The presentation and taste of food was very satisfying and unique ! The smoked old fashioned is definitely one you have to try ~ seriously! Customer service , atmosphere, food, and drink was QUALITY all the way around ! I’ll be going back :) I went on a Sunday evening and it wasn’t packed
Simply fantastic in taste, decor and ambience! Entering the restaurant you feel as if you've entered a lovingly curated wine cellar as you find yourself surrounded by wine on racks and the tranquil melodies of live music. The staff were kind and attentive and the food was truly delightful. I got the pan seared filet which was Amberjack and it was delicate and flavorful with the accompanying vegetables, capers and olives. I cannot extol the virtues of this Italian restaurant phenomenon enough! The prices are reasonable and the food is delicious. If you're in Mobile, be sure to stop by.
We were celebrating the letter "P" as a family and decided to eat pasta dressed as pirates. Our goal for these outings is to try a restaurant that is new to us. Amici Trattoria was our pick for a Saturday lunch and we were pleasantly surprised. Everyone tried a different item from the menu. Spinach Ravioli with Shrimp was perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of tomato garlic sauce. This classic Italian dish had a pleasing taste. Lasagna tasted freshly made. The ratio between the noodles, sauce and meat was executed to perfection. I would describe the lasagna as hearty and comforting. Our 8 year old requested a specialty item and they were able to accommodate his request. Bow-tie pasta with red sauce. The sauce was a little heavy handed on the red pepper making it spicy for him. Of course, we had to try desert... The lady fingers in the Tiramisu was perfectly soaked in the espresso. The mascarpone was rich and creamy. The layers complimented one another beautifully giving a slightly bitter and sweet flavor profile. Panna cotta was silky smooth and just firm enough to hold its shape. Drizzled with a raspberry sauce and lemon zest. Would we go back? ABSOLUTELY!!!!!
We went to a wine tasting event, which was always fun and we stayed for dinner. We tasted four wines, two whites & two reds. It was wonderful, because wine needs food to be really great! They included (4) appetizer bites pared with each wine! We had Cheese Poipette, Tuna Poipette, Speck & Eggplant and Parmigiano with Balsamico. We highly recommend making reservations and take advantage of EVERY WINE TASTING!!! THE MORE THE MERRIER 🍷
It was awesome. We enjoyed our dinner so much and the atmosphere was great!! ❤️❤️
The steak is definitely the best thing on the menu.
Nice Italian restaurant. The redfish was really good.
I love this place! Fantastic selection, knowledgeable, helpful and friendly staff AND fun events! If you are ever looking for a special gift - this should be your go to.
Great place to have a glass of wine with some friends, meet up with a client or enjoy one of their great events. Brooke Goff is an expert in her industry.
The owner is amazing it’s a beautiful place to stop and have a glass of wine and a charcuterie board. Also has wine available to buy by the bottle. Love this place definitely worth the visit.
We loved it. A little pricey.
Wonderful menu. Eggplant app was fantastic and the redfish entree was magnificent. Service excellent.
They have wonderfully helpful staff that will help you find the right wine for you. I have no knowledge of wine, but walked out with a bottle I loved thanks to the staff. Highly recommend.
I'm new to Mobile and googled "good wine store near me." Domke popped up. Awesome place. Knowledgeable staff, they were amazing!!
We love Domke, great atmosphere , meeting up with friends , good snacks and wine ! Brooke and her staff are the best !
This place is excellent! Italy is my home country and I have found it here thanks to this amazing chef!
A great evening all the way around.
Place is awesome. Nice selection of wine and beer amd cooking accessories! Only place I could find mini champagnes in town!
Brooke and her team are awesome! We love wine tasting Tuesday!
Great night out with my husband, enjoying some delicious wine. 🍷 TY Brooke for always having a smile & welcoming!
A great place to get presents for family, friends or work mates. They can design gift baskets to your liking whatever your idea is.
I loved, loved, loved Domke! It was my first time but not my last time! I'll see you at Domke Tuesday 💖 #winegroove
Great wine and gift selection. Fantastic customer service. Really like the personal “boutique” feel of this store.
Fantastic food, huge selection of wines, & quality cocktails!
I love this wine market. The customer service is excellent and they even gift wrap the items you buy if you ask.
Food is phenominal. Wait staff makes you feel like family.
Finally an authentic Italian restaurant in the area......100% recommended...chef Luigi is the best
Always love their special event wine tastings and free wine Wednesday's. Great selections.
We recently had a bridal shower at Domke Market and cannot recommend them enough! We had mimosas, quiche, a huge charcuterie board, chicken and waffles, hummus, brie, and so much more! Victoria and Jenny were attentive and super easy going; Brooke was super easy to communicate with and was very accommodating! They have a huge selection of wines and champagne as well as snacks! We would 100% recommend them, the shower was perfect!
Perfection! The gnocchi was incredible. Amici 75 cocktail was amazing. Definitely get the Bonet for dessert. Great staff and owners!
First timers and not disappointed! The food was fabulous. My granddaughter had the shrimp in spicy tomato sauce over spaghetti, my husband had the ravioli and I had the mushroom tortelloni with bolognese. We started with antipasto Italiano. Evan was great as well! Actually, EVERYONE who we encountered was fantastic! We all know that in today’s world, you don’t get that everywhere! Go! Be hungry! And enjoy!
Domke Market is a great place to meet new friends and unwind. Brooke, Jennifer, and Brandi are always welcoming and full of knowledge. The tastings on Tuesday are unique and a great time. She has wine to fit EVERY budget. She and her staff also make the best gift baskets. You will not find a better place!
Amazing REAL Italian dishes cooked and served to perfection. I'm Italian, born and raised, and I'd yet to find an authentic restaurant that serves classic dishes, and drinks. We'll be back! Thank you, Chef for a memorable experience.
The owner, Brooke, is the nicest person you will ever meet. She goes out of her way to make sure you enjoy yourself when you attend an event there or if you just simply stop by. Everyone should be a part of her wine club, it’s an awesome deal and it is a great way to try new wines and meet new friends. Not into wine? No worries, she has beer too. Domke is also a great atmosphere to go to for a drink when you are having to finish up work on your laptop. Stop by and check it out! P.S. - Her employee’s are amazing too!
My friends and I absolutely adore the ladies at Domke's. I look forward to Tuesday night wine tasting every week! I have learned so much about different wines and really enjoy the atmosphere. Unwinding with these awesome ladies and friends is just what the doctor ordered. You should really check out Brooke's inventory. She has the coolest gift ideas around and the prices cannot be beat!
Domke Market is very similar to a charming European cafe in that it has delicious food and great selection of wines. It's very relaxed and the atmosphere encourages conversation. We enjoy meeting new folks and the staff is welcoming, knowledgeable and fabulous. A local gem!!!
Went for happy hour with the honey. Pricey but good.
Domke is the best after work get together spot! She has small plate items to nibble on and a great selection to sip on! Brooke has a great knowledge of all things wine and champagne, so you can tell her what you like and she will point you to something for your taste and your price range! And if that wasn’t enough, she has a great gift selection for those last minute “oops I forgot a birthday” gifts! Go see her, you’ll fall in love with the place and the people!
Best local wine store around! I love the wine club - I've gotten to try some wines that I never would have bought. The staff is friendly and helpful. I also love the cheeses and snacks. The flatbread pizzas are delicious! They will also make you great, easy gift baskets! And I also have them make charcuterie boards when I'm supposed to show up at a family function with a dish lol
This was a great place to visit on Mother's Day! Food, dessert, and champagne were amazing! Thanks for having us, we'll be back!
We love Domke! The tastings and wine dinners are always fun with great food, wine amazing people. Brooke and her staff are knowledgeable and fun friends.
We just got back from Europe and were trying to find wine selections from the different regions we visited and Domke market had all we were looking for and we got to try some of the other wines from regions we couldn't visit ourselves! And all of these at a reasonable price! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
Domke Market is the sweetest, most yummy, and intimate shop in Mobile! Highly recommend the Tuesday night Wine Tasting events. Brooke and the rest of the staff are so personable, friendly, professional, and hospitable. Truly a hidden gem of Mobile!!
I browsed through Domke Market and found some of the cutest and loveliest array of different items from accessories like jewelry to glasses. The store is very cozy and welcoming; I was greeted by a charming lady with a very friendly hello and asked if she could help me find anything. I told her I was just looking around and she smiled kindly as I was assured if I needed any help to let her know. I love this store and highly recommend visiting.
I love the networking events they host here. It has an awesome wine selection with a bunch of cute little extras for gifts. They also helped us big time on our Make A Wish fundraiser last year! I highly recommend them!
First time here, but everything was delicious. We will be back. We were right next to the party/event room and at times couldn't hear our server, but that's our only complaint!
The quality of every ingredient is top tier. Masterfully crafted dishes in an amazing environment. Prefect date night dinner!
The staff are so welcoming and informative at Domke. Even the most novice wine drinker will feel comfortable browsing the store or attending the events. It’s also perfect for a midday break or a date night.
Such a cute local spot in West Mobile. Great wine selection and prices. Staff very nice and knowledgeable. Tuesday night tastings as well. Will be going back for sure. 5 stars
Had a great time tonight. They always have great events with different foods from different restaurants and wine from different Vineyards. We also had a great dessert from Guncles gluten-free bakery. Brooke Goff does a great job with Domke Market.
Deb and Phil have a wonderful store, with a large selection of beer, wine, gourmet foods and fantastic gifts. They regularly have representatives from the wineys in the store so you can learn and appreciate their selections as much as they do...Stop in and browse around you won't be disappointed
Love this place! Takeout lasagna is amazing, happy hour w the girls, expert advice on wines to take home..they have it all
Love this place! I make it a must to visit the store when visiting family in Mobile. Whether it's been a month or a year, I am always greeted with a warm welcome. Great wine selection, gadgets, dips, rubs and other unique goodies.
Food excelente, service very busy and not good, tables right in front of entrance. Reserve your table before you go 😉 I gonna go many times again anyway !!
We went to the tasting event on a Tuesday night for girls night! Wine was great, but we didn’t get our last pour. Food was really good!! From the samples they had out and we all ordered an entree off the menu. Every employee we encountered was super sweet and helpful! They worked with me on getting an extra ticket for a friend who wanted to come last minute! Definitely something we would do again on a girls night!
VERY NICE PLACE , ESPECIALLY FOR A ROMANTIC NIGHT OUT , BUT IT WAS A BUISSNESS MEAL FOR SERENITY FUNERAL HOME, DIRECTORS DEPARTMENT, WE HAD AN ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL EVENING, WILL DEFINITELY VISIT AGAIN , FOOD WAS GREAT !!!!
This place is definitely worth the price tag! My husband and I have eaten at some of the finest restaurants all across the world, and this is one of my top three. If they have the ravioli dish as their special, we recommend! The food is true authentic Italian. Service is exceptional, very kind and you don’t have to ask for anything - they’re one step ahead of you. The flavor profiles and combinations are exceptional. Amazing chef! We will definitely be back.
We visited Sunday 2/16/2025 for lunch and Ashlee was our waitress and she is fantastic. The chef here is awesome! The atmosphere is great. We will be back i have already recommended the restaurant to several friends. Again a shout out to Ashlee and the chef they made our day they absolutely went above and beyond. Thank you for making our day special!
Loved the cocktails, the atmosphere, the food and the service. All around superb experience!
My wife and I greatly enjoyed our Sunday Brunch today celebrating our 29 anniversary. We have been in Mobile for the past 6 years after 40 years enjoying great Italian restaurants in Houston TX. Finally, we found a place that is as good as the best in Houston and better than most. The meat and cheese antipasto plates were fantastic and the entrees were perfect. Ashlee always showed up when we needed something and answered all our questions. Amici is now our place for special meals and our favorite evening of multiple appetizers at the bar.
Anything Brook touching is golden and this is no exception. Great food, excellent service and relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Everything was amazing but especially the cocktails and gnocchi! They make a great espresso martini. We went for brunch and to check out the wine market which has a nice selection of wine. I was able to find my favorite wine that I can’t ever find anywhere else. Can’t wait to go back and try the lunch and dinner!
Food is absolutely wonderful. The staff is always kind and welcoming.
Nice space, great service, but the food is the star. This is real Italian food, not the mediocre stuff you normally find. Excellent selection of cheeses, and the truffle tortellini was AMAZING. I can't stop thinking about it.
I’ve been a longtime fan of their previous wine bar, so I was thrilled when they teamed up with Chef Luigi to open an authentic Italian restaurant! At this point, I’ve tried most of the menu, and it has never disappointed. Every dish is as delicious as what I experienced in Italy. I highly recommend starting with the Prosciutto and Burrata appetizers. For pasta, the Rigatoni alla Carbonara (made just like in Italy!) or the Ravioli di Ricotta e Spinaci al Pomodoro Fresco (pro tip: add shrimp!) are outstanding. For the main course, the Tagliata di Manzo al Funghi Trifolati is perfection. Their house signature cocktails are equally impressive, I especially love their twist on the French 75. On top of the amazing food and drinks, this place offers live music, a lovely patio, and even a wine store, all right here in West Mobile. Oh, and they have brunch, too! I’m so happy to have a spot like this nearby and can’t wait for my next visit.
Great atmosphere with friendly, knowledgeable staff. Wide variety of events from affordable Tuesday tastings to 5 course dinner tastings. There’s something for everyone. They have a monthly wine club you can join that’s personalized to your needs and it comes with a different cheese every month. I definitely recommend-10/10!!
I highly recommend you check out Domke Market in Mobile on Schillinger Rd. They have an amazing selection of boutique, small-production wines, gourmet products and tastings. Be sure to ask about Tasting Tuesdays and Wine Club. Our favorite thing about this place is the incredible service and delicious tapas. If you're in the Mobile area, and you are looking for a local place to shop for wines or the perfect date night spot, look no further. We love it. Five stars all around.
We visited family in Mobile and they suggested Amici. Atmosphere was nice giving options for indoor or outdoors with music. Drinks were good and food was great. The ribeye was incredible, with the mushroom risotto. We also had the Lasagna which is our test for a good Italian restaurant. It was very nice. If you’re in Mobile, definitely swing by.
Everything was absolutely amazing! Our team used Amici Trattoria & Wine Bar’s catering in Mobile, AL for a business event and it was a five-star experience from start to finish. Mike handled the setup and was prompt, professional, and so kind. Everyone was blown away by the food - it was beautifully presented and full of flavor, and the wine we purchased from Amici’s wine market was exceptional. If you’re planning a corporate lunch, client dinner, or business celebration in Mobile, I highly recommend Amici Catering - they make it effortless and impressive.
Kaitlyn, our sever was so kind and helpful. We had so many questions and she was quick to give us all of the information we needed to make our decisions for dinner and wine. Both of which were fantastic! 10/10 recommend. We will definitely be back.
This was our first time to visit Amici. We had a party of 5. We all had a very enjoyable experience and the food was wonderful! Hannah took excellent care of our table. She was super sweet and accommodating. We were also greeted at the door by the friendly hostess awaiting our arrival. I had the lasagna and my husband ordered the spinach ravioli…both were delicious! As we were leaving, we enjoyed stopping and listening to the live acoustic music being performed outside on the deck. Our first visit to Amici was truly a pleasant experience! Thank you, again, Hannah for your hospitality and amazing service!
We never like trying new places out of fear of being disappointed, but so- glad we decided to try this place out for my birthday dinner! It was absolutely incredible from the friendly staff, to the delicious food and drinks! It is now my favorite place for date night! Everything we ordered was divine. We got the arancini appetizer, insalata mista salad, gnocchi al ragu alla bolognese, butternut squash ravioli (to die for!!!! This needs to be a regular item on the menu...not just a November special!), and then 2 birthday desserts of course. We cannot wait to go back to Amici Trattoria!
Really nice. Cozy modern, extremely clean place. We wiil definitely return
We have been wanting to try this place for awhile. Love the market area and bar looks nice! Private dining room, maybe for wine tastings? We enjoyed the cheese( latur pecorino and a mozzarella ), and let me tell you pasta is out of this world. My only disappointment was the steak, cooked perfect but needed seasoning. Next time will go for the fish. I would suggest tortelloni
The restaurant is very nice. From the hostess to our server, we experienced a friendly, engaging staff! We had the caprese appetizer that included mozzarella, tomatoes and basil — all extremely fresh! I had the fish, which was cod that included blistered tomatoes, Kalamata olives, fresh lemon and capers. Wonderful combination but honestly lacked seasoning. Conversely, my husband had the lamb chops and he was wildly impressed. For the sides we shared the roasted vegetables, we also both agreed were excellent. However, we also agreed the polenta was terribly bland. They serve bread with olive oil and a balsamic reduction, for dipping. The bread was fresh but I do wish they had provided cracked black pepper for the olive oil. The other thing noticeably missing was salt and pepper on the table that honestly I’ve never added to a restaurant meal but would have tonight. For dessert we had tiramisu, and both enjoyed that. I had an espresso martini, which was perfect and also had espresso following dinner—also very good. Before gratuity, we spent $75 per person — with gratuity, we landed at $185. Overall, it was good but honestly, I wouldn’t return. It was simply inconsistent and not authentic Italian — when you’re Italian, you just know.
I was super hopeful trying this restaurant for the first time. The person I was going with had been before and was happy with their experience. The lady who seated me was friendly but seemed a little frazzled. There were only 2 other tables at the time and some folks at the bar. Our server was friendly but also seemed a little scattered. So I am not sure if there was something going on in the back or not. We ordered the arancini and it was fine… the sauce that accompanied was really good and had a kick. Then we split the wedge salad and it was like a wet mess. The lettuce was super wet and then covered in a dressing with absolutely no flavor. How can you screw up a wedge salad? I ordered the lasagna and was thrown off by how much grease it had at the bottom of the bowl. It looked really good and rich but had very little flavor. I requested a side of the sauce I mentioned earlier and that helped some. The highlights were the olive bread and the sauce served with the arancini. The lows were, the rest of the food and how slow the service was. The restaurant did get busier and the staff seemed overwhelmed. Having been a server and a manager at a restaurant, I hope the staff gets some more training or hire more servers. If this place is promoting fine dining then the hostess should be a little more put together…not wearing tennis shoes and jeans. I will say the prices were reasonable for mediocre food. I hope they tweak what they have started and really try to step it up. I would love to see them make it.
Very Italian decor. Quite lovely. I ordered wine that was outstanding. Service was great. Kevin was our waiter. Nice, helpful staff. The food was mediocre. Priced ok but basic food prep knowledge left me wanting. I could eat it. Not horrible but little things like under cooked, and a bit rubbery shrimp...... it's a hard no. And refrigerated tomatoes. Everyone knows you don't refrigerate tomatoes. We had a table of four. We all had a nice time but not because of the food. Chocolate dessert tasted nothing like chocolate. I would go back for the wine and service then go elsewhere for dinner. I am a scratch cook and a fan of Italian cuisine. Not an expert at all but I know how it should be prepared..
The hostess was excellent along with the server. The food was just ok My husbands fish was over cooked the chef forgot the Capers My son’s lamb chops over done they were redone better when they were redone. Shrimp for the starter was not good Way to many tomatoes on the dishes.
We were overjoyed to see an Italian restaurant in West Mobile! Our issues began with reservations. Although they open for dinner at 5 the earliest available was 6:30. Arriving early we thought we would have a glass of wine. The tiny bar was packed and the restaurant was basically empty so we were seated. The wines were excellent and the wine host chatted with us about New York wines. She was fabulous as was our waitress. We ordered the veal, spaghetti and a eggplant. The eggplant was exceptional. The spaghetti very bland. The pasta did not have the smooth texture and taste you expect of fresh pasta. The veal was weird. The cut tough topped with cheese, prosciutto and drop of sauce it was underwhelming. Sending the spaghetti back it took two attempts to repace it with the ravioli because I did not order the shrimp. Taking it to go, it was enjoyed it at home. It was quite good. I called to compliment the chef but no one answered the phone. This restaurant is not recommended.
Expect a very pricey meal for slow service and mediocre food. Everyone was nice and it does feel fancy. However, you have to pay for more bread and they don't give you bread or crackers if you order the cheese dish starter, you get palate cleansers of celery, pickled onion, grapes and some honey only. We had to ask 5-6 times multiple people to get more bread and it finally arrived by the time or main dish had arrived. They could probably use another waiter or two. We shared truffle ravioli as dish one and it was good though not surprising in the flavors. Dish two we had lamb and ribeye. The ribeye was good but the lamb was not marinated or glazed or anything and was quite plain and a bit undercooked. Overall the meals were relatively simple and not executed very well. I would say this is way overpriced for the quality. The panna cotta dessert was good. The cook seems to like more earthy simple flavors (mushrooms, gravy, plain salad with salt and light vinegar) . I can see this being a plus for some people that enjoy tasting the basic flavors of their meal but I enjoy more layers and surprise with my meals.
4 of us visited for dinner tonight. The staff was very pleasant and engaging and a couple of specialty drinks were enjoyable. The food, generally was a miss for us. Had the caprese salad and prosciutto appetizer. Entrees included the bolognese, rigatoni eggplant, tortelloni and carbonara. Desserts were the chocolate cake and tiramisu. All products seemed fresh as was the bread. Specifically though, Caprese was missing a balsamic component (just my opinion), 1st 2 entrees were bland, 2nd 2 were almost inedible due to way too much salt. Desserts were average at best. Portions seemed on the small side. I would love for this to be a regular stop on our rotation, but the quality at the preparation level was just too extreme for us to visit again anytime soon. I hope Amici makes it, but the food missed on too many levels for both couples.
Was so much wanting to like this place since it's close by and we love Italian food. Bread was good and your first 5-6 slices are free, but anything after that there is a charge. Our table found that to be quite odd. Unfortunately the best thing we had was the wine, because they didn't have to make that. My eggplant dish was cold with hardly any eggplant. My husband got the pasta carbonara which had an off taste unfortunately. His main course was the veal scallopini and it was tough, cold and flavorless. Totally disappointed with the food because we were excited to try it. Maybe it was an off night, but I do not think we will give it another try.
I really wanted to like this place and there were some highlights, but there were also several issues. First off, service was incredibly slow despite it not being that busy. Also some of the serving staff couldn’t even answer basic question about the menu. Also not to be some uncultured swine, but know your audience. The menu is needlessly confusing. I’ve eaten in Italy. I get what they are trying to do and it’s kinda neat, but it causes more confusion than needed for English speakers and those not familiar with how restaurants work in Italy. My fiancé got the carbonara and it literally had scrambled egg pieces in it. That’s not correct carbonara and should have been spotted right away and fixed. I got the ribeye dish with mushrooms and while the steak actually tasted good and was cooked perfectly, it looked so unappetizing. The sauce and mushrooms were just a dull brown/grey and there was WAY TOO MANY mushrooms. It looked like vomit. Yes it tasted good which is most important, but presentation is also important and it looked VERY unappetizing. I bet most folks would look at that dish and not want it. Other that they the decor and atmosphere is nice. The tortellini was great. Definitely some high marks but too many issues for the price.
Good drinks but over charge you on your bill by 6 dollars. The price on your receipt is not what you pay. Do not like hidden costs.
The veal disappointed baked with prosciutto and cheese. No sauce to speak of and not tender. Spaghetti bolongnese was bland. I sent it back for the ravioli. I sent it back because I did not order the shrimp. When I finally received the dish I had to get it to go. It was good.
We had the lasagna and it was overcooked. The pasta was mush. And there was no flavor. Luckily, I took it as "to- go" and could add some seasonings, but it did not save it. I'll try one more dish....but how do you mess up lasagna as an Italian restaurant? We ate about a fourth each, before it was tossed.
we enjoyed our experience - High marks go to wine and drinks- charcuterie cheese and antipasto was great! disappointed in the entrées! I have eaten at many authentic Italian restaurants and those dishes were not authentic. Sorry! they were good but not worth the price….
We have visited several times before, the food is always consistently delicious, however this last time I ordered a smoked old fashioned and was offered a “double,” I don’t mind paying for alcoholic beverages but a smoked double Woodford old fashioned is $31. Outrageous if I’m being totally honest.
I hate to leave a bad review but my experience at amici was far below what I would expect from any Italian restaurant, I will say the bread is good but that’s about it, the arancini were flavorless and the “carbonara” was disgusting to be frank. The sauce was just straight up egg yolk, it’s supposed to be a thick silky sauce made by combing Parmesan and egg yolks and lightly cooked by the hot pasta but what was served was pasta with egg yolks on it sprinkled with Parmesan cheese, there was no cheese in the actual sauce, literally just runny uncooked egg yolks, it was gross. I’m also 99% sure they used barilla pasta. Barilla pasta is fine but for an Italian restaurant to be serving that is insane to me, you don’t have to make fresh pasta, although that would be nice, but at least use a higher quality brand. So expensive for the portions especially when you take into account they’re using a cheap bottom of the barrel pasta brand and not even making the dishes correctly. My boyfriend got the gnocchi and the meat sauce was flavorless and again, low quality store bought gnocchi, tough, not soft and pillowy like it should be. I guess they can get away with this bc there’s no good Italian places down here and people don’t know what they’re missing but I was incredibly disappointed. Also, the restaurant as a whole had a very stiff uncomfortable vibe, our server was sweet but everyone else we dealt with were high strung and it felt overbearing and stressful. I certainly won’t be returning.
We were told this is "authentic Italian food" several times before ordering by the waiter who didn't know anything about the menu. The appetizer came out at the same time as 2 out of 3 entrees, bread and 3rd entree was a few minutes later. There were small portions and odd flavors, gnocci with ragu literally left a bad taste in my mouth. Waiter asked several times if we were doing OK while we had an empty water bottle on the table and he never offered more. Not sure what we were charged for because I was just trying to get out of there quickly but we were definitely overcharged by about $6 before adding the $3 fee for credit card. We will not be back and wouldn't recommend.
