The server was great! She was all by herself and we had a good laughing moment with WATER.... Although, the time was a bit of a wait but tolerable. I highly recommend eating here.

Owner greeted us after we were seated. We felt like a regulars. It was super nice the table set was pretty and the staff was amazing it really felt like family even if it’s your first time there and that food it superrrr good so y’all should definitely eat there. New York steak and potato was seasoned well, kids kept asking for pieces. They even gave my daughter a piece of cake for her birthday.

As you walk through the doors, you are greeted with the aroma of the wood-fired oven and grill. I was seated by the vibrant server Ashley; she was friendly but not familiar. A trait in great service that I hold in high regard. Well-versed on the expansive menu ( pictured here and current as of Jan 2025 ). She was helpful in making a recommendation. The Grilled Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo was fantastic. Personally, I prefer my pasta al dente, but theirs was not what I'd consider over-cooked. The Alfredo sauce was delicious but nondescript- it just didn't "wow" me - if made fresh, I prefer a little more kick with the garlic. It was not over-seasoned. The grilled chicken, with which it was topped was delightful- seasoned and cooked to perfection. Moist and juicy with a perfect crust; it is the chicken, which made this dish shine. The insalada caprese was freshly prepared, the greens cool and crisp. Fresh Mozz sparingly topped with basil. I found the balsamic glaze to be a bit watery and ALMOST cloyingly sweet. Portion sizes were respectable. Pricing was overall reasonable, perhaps a little pricey for the area; however, I have little to compare it to. Nearly everything here in California seems quite high to this Louisiana man. Overall 4.25/5 Stars - I will definitely be dining here again. Thanks again, Ashley, for your wonderful service, knowledge, and cheerful attitude ( despite being the only waitstaff on the floor when I arrived. ) You made this a wonderful dining experience - please give New Orleans another chance- feel free to reach out to me for all its great restaurants, events, and entertainment venues.

Came here for my wedding anniversary, we had the best service we've ever encountered. Idk what Marcos gets paid but he deserves a raise! He goes beyond making it an amazing experience, my wife and kids loved his vibe . Will definitely come back, plus the food was 10/10. This world needs more people like Marcos🙌🙏

The place is a bit pricey, but it's amazing!!!! I ordered the sampler and pulled pork sliders! Everything was PERFECT! The brisket was able to be cut with a fork. Ribs fell of the bone! My wife got the salmon and was pleased! To top it off, they obviously clean the soda machines because thier root beer was on point! Please see pics from the day! I will be back ASAP! I forgot to mention the sliders were also legit af! I was not able to try the desert, but they have a pretty decent line up.

We decided to try this place and were not disappointed. We started with an appetizer of perfectly prepared calamari. It was tender and not rubbery at all. For the main course, I had the lasagna with meatballs and an excellent glass of Cabernet (Carmel Road) and my son had the spaghetti bolognese and he took 2 of my meatballs. Lol The generous portion of lasagna was extremely flavorful and my son had no complaints about his spaghetti as he ate all of it. I would definitely return if in the area. I had my eye on the rib eye but didn’t get a chance to try it this time around.

It's hard to find restaurants these days that are worthy of a 5 star rating, but this is one of them. Service was quick and friendly, and the food was excellent, though a bit pricy. The restaurant is conveniently located in the hotel district, though a bit tedious to get to, because of the fenced off bike path running in through the middle of the road. The place is massive, and has a very nice ambiance, especially in the evening. We ordered the New York Steak with Twice Baked Potatoes, Blackened Chicken and Short Ribs. The Blackened Chicken was byfar my favorite of the three dishes, and had I known that they put the BBQ sauce in a container, and not on the chicken, I would have ordered this dish instead. The best thing about it is probably its variety. They serve everything from Italian pizza, to sea food. So there really is something for everyone. Amazingly it was a warm weekend, and the place wasn't super crowded. Definitely recommend it if you're looking for a place to eat in Monterey. I guess my only complaint is I was a little confused, because I could have sworn their menu had breakfast items listed, but the restaurant doesn't open 'til 11:30.

Good food for a good price. Service was very good. Brisket was on the dry side. Now, the brisket dip appetizer was excellent. Chicken kabobs; solid, great vegetables. In this area, the price was reasonable.

Very authentic restaurant. Service was fast and friendly, and communication was reciprocal. All the dishes were delicious and plentiful. Cocktails were smooth and refreshing.

Monterey Cookhouse was a recommendation by a local. The decor and atmosphere were nice. The staff were also nice. We ordered the smoked sampler and lobster ravioli. The lobster ravioli was really good. On the sampler, the brisket was tender but not cooked like a Texas brisket with the charred layer on the outside of the meat. The pull pork slider was the best on the plate. The ribs were well cooked and tender but did not have enough flavor which may be ok for some. The food is a bit pricey but it is a nice place for date night.

Van Dockery

The steak was ok, but the clam chowder was good along with the bake potatoes. They have an interesting outdoor patio and any fruit in the patio you can pick and eat.

Some of the happy hour food. 1) calamari was under cooked 2) ribs were over cooked and dry 3) brisket was good, but one was on the dry tasteless side 4) onion rings were spot on I’m thinking the meat is yesterday reheated If I got any of this on the regular menu it would have went back.

Brisket was old. Like where you either cook it too much, or kept in the steam tray too long. Then it becomes mushy/mealy. Pizza crust and sauce tasted flavorless. Fresh mozzarella and fresh tomatoes on the Margherita Pizza were instead just Pizza cheese and canned tomatoes. Fries good. Iced tea good. But the 3 meals ordered were not. With a very high price.
