New favorite steakhouse. Wow is all I can say. The food was perfect the service was better the drinks were fantastic. We'll be back and SOON! Update: we went back, it was amazing again. Hunter was a fantastic server. Thank yall so much!

What a fun place! We went on a Saturday night and were seated right away. The rolls and cinnamon butter were fantastic! I had the bbq brisket sandwich and my wife had the street tacos. We shared them and we both loved them. We don’t normally order dessert but we got the Bourbon bread pudding with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. A great way to finish a really tasteful dinner. Live music, casual atmosphere and great food! Keep up the great work Ransoms Steakhouse & Saloon!

First visit to this restaurant. Riley was our server and he went out of his way to answer any questions we had. He made sure to check on us appropriately. He even asked the cook questions we had about different dishes. Thank you Riley for your service. We will send you business & plan to return ourselves. Everything was very tasty and prepared well. The portions were good. The Buffalo chicken bites were awesome. I usually don’t like that spicy but the flavor was great. We also had the pork chops and they were also very tasty. The recipe will be far different than you have prob ever had before but pleasantly satisfying. The cheeseburger was very good too. I had to try a bite since everyone loves cheeseburgers and it looked well prepared. If you are in the area visiting or driving thru to lake Conroe, give this place a chance. It looks like an old barn on the inside and you definitely have that Texas feel.

Awesome Montgomery TX staple! Locals don't have to go far to get a 5 star meal in a country setting. This restaurant has excellent service, an extremely unique outdoor concert stage and patio, and the food is awesome. This is a great place for a steak, and they have a solid menu! They definitely have something to appease any crowd. They also have a full service bar.

We had the Fish and Chips, Small bowl of gumbo, steak fingers with gravy, and the bone marrow. Our server Wade made sure we had a great time. He was so much fun and kept us laughing. They had Kenny Cooper on stage and his talent was incredible. The establishment was clean and the restrooms were spotless. The outdoor seating was packed and everyone was seated to social distance. Our server watched our alcoholic intake to our food consumption. Which means he is doing his job and watching out for everyone's safety. So this place gets a big high five. Keep up the great work and I will be returning.

Birthday dinner for my daughter with my wife. A short wait to be seated. Not bad for a Friday night. Once seated our waitress told us there would be a delay from the kitchen. A large party had just sent their order in. About 20 minutes later they took our order. After that everything was normal. Food was good and we enjoyed the live entertainment. Might go back next time we're in town.

Greeted with a smile. Seated promptly. Clean restaurant. The server was friendly. However, when my wife's margarita was brought to the table, the server suggested trying a different one next time since you would get "more bang for your buck." Would have been nice to know beforehand. Food came out without much wait. The food was good, not great. Chicken fried steak was chewy, and batter wasn't crispy. Gravy was good. The rolls were hot and very good. Side dishes were very small. Fried shrimp was good. Atmosphere was what one would expect from a country steakhouse. Rustic. Live singer started at 6 pm on a Saturday night. Has outside seating and a full bar. Didn't try the steaks. Would be worth a revisit to try.

The food was ok. I thought the asparagus was a little undercooked but the steak was OK. I did have to get up and leave right after our food came out. Someone was seated directly behind me and they smelled so bad i almost gagged.

We have tried this place a few times since it's so close to our home. The hostess/servers/bartender are great, and the atmosphere is okay, but the food needs significant improvement. Everything we've eaten here has been overcooked and not seasoned well, mainly the meats. Unfortunately, we will not be returning due to the poor food quality.

This is the first steak house I’ve been to that didn’t serve bread. And there was not a side salad available. The steak was average as were the sides. Just nothing spectacular here. The chicken fried chicken was also average. The place is nice and looks like a steak house and there is a great bar area and patio.

Not the greatest, but overall positive! Staff was friendly, although was a little slow for refilling drinks. The Candy Corn Shot was very sweet but I felt it didn’t have much alcohol. The servings for our order were huge! The sandwich was very filling. Sweet potato fries were the best side. We probably won’t return again, but it was nice to try.

I ordered the scorpion tails . Fried shrimp with crab stuffing. The shrimp tasted like plastic . Ammonia taste from. The rotten crab stuffing no response from the management After complaining and sending it back.

My husband and I have lived in the area since 2011. We have been to Ransom’s on more than one occasion. We did go this past week for lunch and we were very disappointed. My husband ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and opted to go with the dinner portion versus the lunch portion for $5.99 more. What you are seeing in this picture is what he had left. I did speak with the owner to give feedback and she indicated that the lunch portions are pre-cut and that the meat does shrink. Based on her statement, I am wondering if they took a lunch portion cut, put extra batter on it and served it as a dinner portion. She also indicated that she spoke with the staff and that the Chicken Fried Steak took up the entire plate. That is great, however, if there is very little meat in it then that is a fail. The funny thing is the amount of gravy that was given with the dinner was not enough for a dinner portion. We did ask for a little more and when we got home, we noticed we were charged $.50 for that. I chose to write this review because when I spoke with the owner, she was very defensive and not open to the feedback. I offered to send her these pictures and she said not to bother. She did make excuses regarding the quality of the food and indicated they have had to change things since Covid. On a side note two places that do offer awesome Chicken Fried Steak are Pizza Shack (lunch special on Tuesday) and Fish Pond on old 75.
