Opinions de Harvest Mount Shasta
An amazing jewel of siskiyou county food was delicious service was friendly and professional meals were very appealing
We were here for a vacation. The restaurant happened to be where we stayed. We ordered appetizers, soup, salads and entrees. The rissorto balls were a bit too dry, but all other dishes were excellent. We had a great time here.
After a long day of hiking, we decided to stop here for dinner. Glad we did! I got the 16 oz ribeye, cooked to perfection! My wife got the salmon, and it was very flavorful. We sat outside and enjoyed the warm afternoon.
The Harvest Restaurant at Shasta Inn exceeded our expectations and provided a much-needed respite after a long day of hiking. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, which was full of flavor and expertly prepared. We started with the spicy mussels and the ahi tuna dip. The mussles were a tad over cooked but still a great starter. The tuna dip was paired with delicious wonton chips. For our main courses, we decided to try the fried chicken and the short rib roast. Both dishes were expertly cooked and absolutely delicious. The fried chicken was crispy and juicy, with a flavorful breading that added just the right amount of crunch. The mac and cheese as a side was amazing! Perfect comfort food dish. The short rib roast was tender and succulent with mash potatoes making it a perfect dish. Our waiter, Trevor, was attentive and friendly, making us feel welcome and at home. The cozy ambiance by the fireplace added to the overall experience. Highly recommend Harvest to anyone visiting the area. It is on the pricier side. With delicious food, good service, and a cozy ambiance, it's the perfect spot to unwind after a long day of hiking or exploring the surrounding area.
Highly recommend the Pan seared Atlantic salmon dish(one of the daily special) saffron rice is aromatic and fish skin is crispy. Spices and components are very much dedicated. It can be a fine dining dish elsewhere! 6-layer chocolate cake is huge lol. Wait time is not short but totally worth it.
We went to Harvest (inside Shasta Inn) for the first time last night. Not sure why we waited so long to go; it was fabulous. From the drinks ( a little disappointed they didn't have mint for the Mojito) I had a greyhound; to the Crab Cake Appetizer and onto the Bleu Cheese Crumble Salad and then my Entree of the Braised Short Rib (almost as good as mine) was absolutely delicious! They were extremely busy in there almost all tables were full with 2 servers and the bar packed as well. The staff worked hard to accommodate all the patrons needs and for that they get "Kudos" from our group. Others in our group had the Peruvian Chicken and said it was off the hook. It is not often we all clean our plates (and portions were nice). Highly recommend this gem of a resturant in Mount Shasta, Ca. We definitely will return.
It's my second time here, so I can vouch for the Ribeye and the Stroganoff. Both bartenders are really cool. They make a killer smoked old fashioned.

OMG, thought I was in Italy, or at least "The City" (SF). The mussels and their sauce, so rich. Then the pasta panceta with clams. Hearty al dente hard pasta with a spicy rich sauce that I can't forget. Never had such meaty panceta. Everyone felt the same, all over the menu. In our own Mt Shasta? We had almost given up. Oh yes, very friendly professional service, too.
We reserved dinner tables for a large group of 20 that were in a time crunch to get to an event. Kimberly and her staff made sure we got our food in a timely manner without ever making us feel rushed. The food was served quickly and was excellent. Everyone in our group had a great time and a wonderful meal.
Really love the food and atmosphere here. The staff is very friendly and the restaurant has a well thought out menu. Definitely will go again.

We ate here on our journey through California. I had the coconut cod, and it was the best cooked fish I probably have ever had. It was served on a bed of rice, but for the price, really needed a side of vegetables. My husband had fish and chips and devoured it. The place is very nice, with a great vibe and super clean. Would 100% eat here again.
Pretty good food! We stayed at the Shasta Inn, and Harvest is located inside the lobby space, this made dinner super easy. I had the short ribs, which was perfectly cooked, 5 stars. My husband got the fried chicken with mac’n cheese. The mac’n cheese was really good, but I wasn’t crazy about the seasoning on the fried chicken and we both thought it was a little overcooked. Nice menu has something for everyone.
Had the best chicken. I’m Northern California as I was told. Good chicken dinner comes with Mac n cheese. Sat by the fire would love to check their other meal options as they seem to sell out. Check ‘em out I did.

We stopped to eat at Harvest, when we wanted to take out a local who recommended it. I’m impressed that the small town of Shasta can support so many good restaurants! They had a large selection on the menu and the weight staff and atmosphere were friendly and laid-back. I would definitely go again, though I didn’t give them a five star view because I do appreciate really good quality food and while their food was good it wasn’t five star. Having said that myself and the friend I took out to eat are both excellent chefs so of course our rating from us it’s pretty darn good. I had ordered the very simple fried chicken because the waitress said it was the best. I would not normally order such a plain thing, but she informed me that the chicken had been pre-cooked in a souls vida machine, so it was exceptional as it wasn’t Debri. It was exceptional! But the vegetables and macaroni and cheese that came with it were very bland and uninspired. My friend ordered the duck which they enjoyed and looked good. Again, it was perfectly good just not inspired Chef kind of good! I still highly recommend going there as one can expect to have a world class chef in the little town of Shasta can we? At a gas fireplace and really friendly atmosphere which made it all worthwhile.

When we arrived at 6:45pm and they were able to seat us right away even though I made reservations for two at 7pm on Jan 15, 2023. We ordered our cocktails..a moscow mule and spicy margarita and let me just say the cocktails were just ok. It was lacking more alcohol. So wasn’t so impressed with the drinks. We were hungry so right away we placed our order when we ordered our cocktails. We ordered a house salad, short ribs and mussels. Keep in mind I noted the time we sat down and the time we got our food. We had to wait an 1 hour and 10 mins for our food to arrive and when It arrived the food was not even steaming hot, just warm and salad leaves were wilted. Basically we just ate our food and left right away not even wanting desserts. For a $100 worth of meal and you had to wait that long it was not worth it. Lackluster service and food coming out warm is not what I expected.

The Harvest Fried Chicken ($27) lacked flavor, and the batter was noticeably thinner and less crispy than before, there was definitely a recipe change or maybe just an off night. The mac & cheese was creamy, but the vegetable portion was extremely small. I had the Street Corn Short Ribs ($30), served over polenta with a chipotle sauce. The meat and polenta were very bland, about half the meat was fat, and the chipotle sauce was overpoweringly spicy. My dish didn’t include any vegetables, and neither entrée came with soup or salad, which made the prices feel hard to justify. Service was fair, though it appeared there was only one server for the entire restaurant.
During our 3 nights stay with 2 kids (9/13 yrs) at Mt. Shasta city, we ate at various restaurants and diners. Dinner at Harvest was the most expensive and the least palatable. Spicy Spanish mussels was less Spanish and more Indian, it was good though! Steelhead salmon was good. Fried chicken was too salty and oily for our taste. Staffs were kind and the ambience was good.

All of the protein was overcooked, the mussels were rubber, even the chorizo. And I got shrimp on the pesto pasta, they had the tails still. And we also tried the Peruvian chicken and rice, most of the chicken was overcooked. And the rice was sort of flavorless, the sauce on the chicken was really good but seemed like the dish besides that sauce was bland. The waiter was very kind, great service. They refunded part of the mussels, we didn't bring up the rest since at that point we realized it may not have been just a one off bad dish. The decor is also a bit random, is it western? Italian? Deli? Log cabin? 😂😂 I apologize in advance for the opinion, my intention is only to give my perspective, not to hurt anyone.

This was our second time here and will be our last. Wait was over an hour for our food and that's no problem if the food is good and worth the wait. Nope. A medium rare steak with no pink inside and tough as nails. For 38 dollars it should melt in your mouth. Fried chicken was tasteless. Potatoes were tasteless. Brussel sprouts were delish, but cold in the middle. Dessert below par. This restaurant has a small menu. When you have a small menu your food should be delightful. It's unfortunate because the inside of this restaurant is beautiful with an astounding ambience. Fyi. No salads and no bread come with any meal.

Oh well , look like a nice place but took 45 m to get appetizers, kids were dying. Food ok but a bit over price ... probably won't come back
And l don give a 0 stars because don't have the option, Sunday August 24 me and my family went to this restaurant to try their dinner food, but at first everything start well. They give me table for 5 people. And then they never attend my table again, but they attend another tables. They never come back at least to offer drinks. But they serve drinks to all around us. So after 45 minutes wait , we decide go out and try another restaurant and we find a very good restaurant with good customer service and good food named sparky's landing.

No food should take over an hour to arrive. We ordered Lamb shank and Halibut. Both were special for the night. No excuse why on earth it takes so long. Everything here is on a snail pace. Bread came out about 30 minutes in, asked if we wanted another glass of wine so we said yes. So far, we've been waiting 15 minutes for that to No avail. I think they forgot. It's not busy either. Do not go here. After over an hour, food finally came out. Rice was cold but fish was done in a good way and tasted good. Lamb tasted good too but too bad it came out so late.
