This gem of a restaurant even has interesting bathrooms! I did not expect this hand drawn art on the walls and I am obsessed with it. Cocktails were on point and the menu did not disappoint. We shared a few dishes and it was absolutely amazing. We visited in mid October and sat in an enclosed patio. The vibe is dark-ish and homey with impeccable service and food.
We dined at the restaurant at the pines and had a great experience. The food was fresh and ready so quick, the drink were delicious and the waiter was an absolute delight. Big fan!

Outdoor only dining at the moment, but vibes are relaxed and enjoyable and the food is A+!
Fantastic restaurant nestled in mt tremper. A small, seasonal menu of delicious fare changes daily. A true Catskill gem.
Such great food, friendly service and cozy atmosphere. We had a great experience and will be back.
Lovely place for brunch, Benny and biscuits were excellent. So were the locals with excellent stories to tell!
Absolutely delicious cottage pie and garden salad. Top notch. Way to go, guys!
Great food & flavors, lovely ambience. The chocolate chunk cookies are incredible.
Great take out and entertainment. The owner is a musician and his band performs at their locale!
Very cozy spot. The burger was great!
Great live music. food can be great if you stick to the classics.
My absolute favorite spot in the area. Amazing cocktails and great company.
Delicious food and great atmosphere! Loved everything about this place.
Delicious food and nicest team. Live music was great too
Locally sourced fresh food with great service, my go to dinner and brunch spot.
Great atmosphere, excellent food, amazing staff. A must when visiting the Catskills!
Excellent atmosphere, exceptional food and drink served by amazing staff!
Great food and service. Also very cozy atmosphere
Great place to check out music and the local scene!
california vibes in the catskills. tall pines, fresh ingredients, and great local music. just awesome.
The Pines is a local favorite, feels like we make a new friend every time we go!
Tastes like home cooking kicked up a notch. Interior is really well appointed
Great food. Good people
Great food, ambiance, decor and staff.
Wonderful food, staff and location. A true gem of the Catskills!
Always a treat to visit The Pines. Don't miss Craig's desserts.
This place rocks! Great food and great live music most nights. Jeremy the host, chef, musician makes everyone feel so welcome. Its always right on....come here you wont be disappointed!
An uncanny blend of country funk, attentive service, and gourmet creations. It must take a real vision and a lot of hard work to make this place what it is. I've been here several times over the years, and I'm always impressed.
Wednesday nights are fun. Great vibe and live music. The drinks and food always on point.
Wonderful dinner! Our group had the nachos, wedge salad, and burgers. The atmosphere was beautiful and the live music was lots of fun!
I was in the Woodstock area for a weekend getaway about a year ago.. stumbled upon this place based on online reviews.. it was so amazing we ended up eating there two nights in a row. I highly recommend the restaurant but cannot speak for the hotel as I stayed somewhere else.
Found this place on the way to Big Indian mt. O.M.G this place is the BOMB! :) The rustic, earthy vibe and the food is out of this world. The staff is super friendly and I was able to speak to the chef. I had the beef chili and grilled cheese. The beef chili came with this cornbread that my tastebuds were watering for more. My boyfriend will definetely be back for sure for that shepards pie and pumpkin that the chef was talking about!
These people genuinely might be psychic, I asked for a whiskey coke and they brought me high west rye and Mexican coke. This is of course the best way to make the drink but no one knows that but me. In conclusion, this place is great, I highly recommend it if you find yourself in the area and don't mind having your mind read.
This place was really solid! The food was simple but in the best way! Nothing too fancy but everything was on point. Burger was delicious!!!
Jeremy and Stacia have done the place justice. Tiso's has a place in the hearts of long-time locals and the new incarnation of The Pines is a welcomed addition. The atmosphere is warm and rustic and the food is fantastic.
I love The Pines! Had the beautiful Farro Salad for dinner and that was incredible. For breakfast I had the kale squash omelette w a homemade biscuit! Triple homerun! The coffee is delish too. Can’t wait to go back for a dinner and live music night. Great spot!
Wonderful food and service -- and thank you to Jeremiah for recommending the chocolate cream pie for dessert.
Best find in the Catskills! Amazing dining experience, expertly crafted cocktails, knowledgeable and loving staff. Mix this with decor and music and The Pines has it going on!!
From the moment you walk in the door you know The Pines is a special place. The smiles, the fabulous drinks, and the food! Local, fresh ingredients make The Pines our favorite Catskill Mountain restaurant by far.
Such a cool gem of a place. Great cocktails and an excellent menu. A must go if you’re in the area
We came for the restaurant. Service was great, food was good, key lime pie was too sweet.
Everything was fire including the vibes. Sorry but if you can make me talk at length about how flavorful a Caesar salad is then you’re a shining star.
Chef von salad offered a German menu. It was outstanding.
delicious food, rustic down-home atmosphere. menu changes and it's always good and reasonably priced.
What a fun place! Really pretty, nice little menu, good drinks, there's a fire! So great.
Excellent service and food...and they were great to our 4 year old. We will go back everytime we visit the area and you should TOO!
Great food, friendly staff & owner. Menu is small in a good way - tight & focused on what they do well.
I love the restaurant. Cool, cozy, laidback, woodsy atmosphere and great burgers!
Had a great time been there a few times for dinner went there for a concert Connor Kennedy great show outdoors great had a good time nice crowd very comfortable
Solid food and their backyard setup has been nice during the lockdown. It’s like a slice of BK has been transported into the Catskills .
The restaurant was delish! Love the art too. My bf and I went after a long hike and our meal really hit the spot :)
This is a true gem in the Hudson Valley. Not to be missed! Everything is decisions, and fresh and clearly prepared with food and love. The staff are delightful and thoughtful. The clientele are all people you’d want to hang out with!
I have been here once and this place is already one of my favorites. I stopped here after a snowboarding trip with a few of my friends and we were unsure what to expect. The atmosphere is very cozy and the people were friendly and inviting and allowed us to eat in the lounge area and play cards. The drinks were creative and delicious and the matzo ball soup was fantastic.
We finally had a chance to touch down at the Pines, and it did not disappoint! My partner and I shared the Carrot&Ginger Soup along with the Trout Chowder. The saucey slithers of trout were a nice surprise. The carrot and ginger hit just right after a long snowy hike! To compliment those lovely liquid starters we engorged ourselves on both their burgers - vegetarian and beef. Solid choice. Wish we had some room for dessert but we’ll leave it for next time. We’re def coming back! Great spot post hike/snowboarding session. Lovely staff and a nice lil bar menu. Certainly a top spot in the nabe!!!
For the resto : wonderfully unpretentious and extremely well executed comfort food with a distinctly creative flair. The cukes and carrots were delish and the steak was cooked perfectly. The star of the meal was for sure the burger which is a top notch smash. Excited to return someday!
Amazing service, tasty food, kind staff. 5/5 for sure. We ordered food to go from here this past weekend while staying nearby. We ordered the carrots, the tomato and coconut soup (a must order), the lamb tagine, the big green salad with chicken and the carrot cake. We would definitely order every single thing again. Seasoning is excellent and the menu is more imaginative and thoughtful in comparison to other spots. They have a big outdoor area with picnic tables so I would suggest going on a nice day to hang out there and if that's not for you the takeout was super fast and everyone was wearing masks.
Cute little restaurant and bar in Mt. Tremper, NY, just outside of Woodstock. Was the perfect place for New American style comfort food and a well-curated list of drinks, with friends. We had a party of ~15 who were all visiting the area together, and wanted a place with outdoor seating, spur of the moment. One of our party called in on the same day, and we were all able to get shaded picnic bench seating outside. Our server Nikki was on the ball and very accommodating - some of us returned the following evening for Round 2!
Visited with my partner and we weren't disappointed. We shared the eggplant fries and green salad. I had the beef noodles and she had the mushroom noodles. Terrific, yet simple collection of American/Asian offerings. The portions are large and the ingredients fresh.
Great food : check Great atmosphere: check If you're like me and like an establishment where the owner is bursting with pride and the clientele is friendly and not stuffy AND if you like a place that is undeniably hip with live music. This little gem is for you. I had a Signature cocktail and for dinner I ate Farro salad and then the brisket of beef. All wonderful .
Had a really pleasant dinner here. Came with 9 people without a reservation and they were very accommodating. Prices were reasonable and food and wine selection were enjoyable.
Worth the trip from New Paltz; great, fun atmosphere, terrific live music with pro players having fun together, and a fine meal from that night's unique pop-up menu, created for the night and venue by a renowned local chef.
We sat at the bar and had a drink. Drinks were good and service was friendly. We didn’t try any food but look forwarded to coming back.
Always excellent. One of the best places for hours around. Food is very strong. Drinks are excellent. Outdoor vibe (especially when there’s music) is fantastic. Take out or hang out, it’s a must if you’re in the area.
The Pines is the perfect place to have a beer and a warm, delicious meal. The atmosphere is exactly what you’d want in a mountain retreat: it makes you feel like you’re in a secluded wood cabin with a lively vibe. 10/10!
Best food we've had in the past year. Flavorful inventive dishes, served camp style. A really unique place with an ever-changing limited menu--which feels thoughtful and curated rather than small.
We got takeout here while staying at an Airbnb in Woodstock. The food is awesome — strong flavors and generous portions. And the canned craft cocktails were such a treat. Thank you!
We had a delightful “real” experience dining here last night. Extra friendly attentive staff, but not too. Good home-cooked-feel of a meal. Generously portioned, but not too. Ate outside at a picnic table. We left sated and smiling.
We’ve ordered take out from here a few times and I can’t say enough good things! Food is always ready on time, the service is friendly, and everything we’ve had is great. Their burger is one of the best I’ve ever had!
One of those places that has the right vibe—all good tables, the BEST food (smash burger, fries and bingo sauce, tahini carrots, Mediterranean salad, falafel, all of it), perfect drinks menu, really really kind and attentive service. It’s just a solid place.
Spent a weekend in the Catskills and needed a place fore dinner, this was a mile away. Had good reviews and looked good. And it was beyond good! Went on a Thursday, when we pulled up we weren’t sure it was open, it was. We had the place to ourselves. It was off season. Jeremy the owner was awesome! He was super friendly and told us the history of the place and recommend some local breweries to visit. The decor and ambiance are better than some places I’ve been to in major cities. The bathroom is a must see!! The sausage tart was killer and don’t let the English muffin on a burger fool you, it was fantastic! This place is top notch and you can see they take pride in it. A must eat for anyone in the area.
Wow I love this place!! The atmosphere is full-on historic Catskills. The food is everything you could hope for, very upscale and rustic-trendy. There is a friendly buzz about this place, with amazingly mindful wait staff and great live music. This is definitely the new place to go to for a scene in the Woodstock - Phoenicia circuit.
Wonderfully thought out and planned restaurant with great local food and drinks. Our food was fantastic, drinks were strong, and service was good. You can tell a lot of locals come here, which is always a good sign. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area.
Amazing food, atmosphere, super friendly and kind staff and an wonderful owner. I've been there as a performer and a fan and had great experiences on both sides of the stage. The lodge is beautiful and perfectly set up with all you'll need if you stay over. Can't recommend it all enough. Best bathroom in upstate NY.
I wish they would be open later! Food is always amazing, especially the fries! Love the falafel salad and the veggie burger.
Lovely lovely place for dinner with ethically sourced ingredients and well crafted cocktails, wine list, etc. staff are very friendly and informed. A staple in the area.
Great local spot with food and drinks and music on Wednesday! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
The Pines is a gem, the beating heart of our community here in the Catskills. It has the nostalgic charm of a summer camp dining lodge, but with elevated meals like gourmet shepherd's pie, steak frites, radicchio salad, an AMAZING falafel plate, etc. The food is satisfying, nourishing, and feels prepared with love, and the staff is always warm, upbeat, and fun. What sets The Pines apart, though, and I carry long after you leave, is the unforgettable atmosphere. This place radiates the warmth and camaraderie of living in the Catskills.
My schools has their prom at The Pines, and it is such a lovely, beautiful space with kind owners and staff. The grounds are lovely. The food is great. The location is serene. The atmosphere is moody, woodsy and cozy. Hoping to come back for my own date night soon!
Ate here this past Friday and Saturday and I can say this was absolutely one of the best meals I've had in ages. This place was just perfect... from the incredibly friendly service, food, setting, music -- you name it. We loved it so much on Friday we came back on Saturday and both times they knocked it out of the park. We had the cabbage and beets for apps and squash/bean burger and falafel salad each night - it was just that good. I can't say enough good things! We will definitely be back when we're back in town.

Fun place, great grilled cheese sandwich, rustic setting. Music on w/e evenings.
Real cozy and classy food was pretty good too! Scenery is spot on
Excellent experience here, no table service but the food was excellent and comforting. During leaf-peeping season the brunch was packed with guys looking like Neil Young and ZZ Top.
The best, juciest hamburger I've had in years. Really good. And the Pines' take on German Chocolate cake was delicious and fun.
Very simple menu but items we got were delicious. Chicken schnitzel and falafel salad were both yummy.
Very cool atmosphere, food was very interesting and good. Only thing is that this restaurant is not $$... The hamburger was $18 which is quite expensive...
Didn't stay there. Three of us had dinner. Was really excellent. We had the panzanella salad with a beautiful pesto dressing, a steak with chimichurri sauce and a veggie burger. All lovely dishes set in a beautiful setting among the pines and mountains. Had a key lime pie for dessert that was a perfect ending to a wonderful dinner. 4.5 out of 5!

The Drinks were delicious, Salads very tasty. Desserts were incredible. Was looking forward to the Chicken thigh Schnitzel sandwich, it was hard to eat, over cooked and stringy...had to cut up the sandwich with a knife..very disappointed. In all, The Pines is a very cute amazing spot...just figure out your Schnitzel.
I finally visited The Pines resturant after hearing great things about it over the years. It was a quiet night without live music, and the space carried the welcoming smell of fried potatoes — a comforting first impression. We were greeted with a smile and quickly shown to an available table. We ordered the seared cabbage, a Mediterranean salad with chicken, and a falafel bowl. Unfortunately, the food was underwhelming overall, and in hindsight, I wish we had stuck with classic bar fare. The falafel didn’t taste freshly made and seemed more like defrosted, mass-produced pieces. The salad felt basic, with what tasted like bagged romaine lettuce and simple dressings. The feta cheese came across as cheap and overly acidic. The chicken — a $10 add-on — was especially disappointing: dry and lacking flavor. I’m keeping this at three stars because the service was friendly and the ambiance was pleasant. However, if you’re planning to eat here, I’d recommend sticking with simpler bar-style dishes.
Sadly, I didn’t have the 5 star experience everyone else did. Went in for dinner and ordered the beets, corn chowder, smashed burger, and chicken pot pie. The beets were quite tangy — a bit too sour, though still good enough to finish. The corn chowder was the highlight, rich and flavorful. The burger was just OK, but some of the thicker fries needed a bit more time to cook through. The ultimate letdown was the chicken pot pie. This unfortunately missed the mark because the taste of rosemary overpowered everything. I like rosemary but this was way too much. Also, some of veggies were undercooked. Hopefully this was just an off night.

Nice atmosphere but over priced for very good but little portions. Coffee not strong. If you're from the big city and you're used to that you'll love it.
My wife and I spent a weekend in the Catskills and this was unfortunately the worst meal of our trip. My wife ordered chicken pot pie which was really just pot pie filling thrown into a take out box, with a separately baked piece of puff pastry on top of it. Not exactly the definition of a pot pie that we are used to. The pot pie itself did not have a great taste. I ordered the smash burger which was just okay. Considering the cost for these items, I would have expected them to be much better.
Terrible drinks, terrible food will never go back there. Waiter was nice.
This is a cute little place, but the food left a lot to be desired. We ordered 4 meals and only one of us enjoyed our food. We ordered 2 of the falafel bowls, 1 burger with fries and a schnitzel sandwich with fries. The falafel bowls are almost all lettuce with a little bit of pickled onion, and maybe a half a handful (total) of tomato, cucumber, and red onion. It had a not so great sauce and it came with 2 little falafels. $20 each bowl. The schnitzel sandwich was raw on the inside. They brought me another one pretty quickly, but unfortunately it had zero seasoning and was chewy. Honestly, I’m surprised they have close to a 5 star rating. If you like flavorful food, I’d go elsewhere. Nice staff and a cute little place, but that’s all it has going for it.
Really don’t understand the hype surrounding this place. When I walked in I loved the decor but the food was disappointing to say the least. I got the curry and it was lukewarm with lettuce on top like a chipotle bowl, which only made the curry colder and more flavourless. Our waitress also didn’t check on us throughout our dinner, which seemed odd as well. I don’t know, I don’t want to hate this place but the food and service were truly sub par.
We have ordered from here multiple times and we've had hair in our burger two times now. The first time we figured it was a fluke and gave them a few more chances. But it just happened again. Really gross and disappointing. They need to do a better job of managing the back kitchen.
