Opinions de Cucina Woodstock
Tasty food, in modest portions, with friendly, efficient and helpful service. Flavours are well-balanced, and high quality ingredients are used. The price point reflects these facts - not the cheapest dinner in Woodstock, but for the standard of food delivered, not at all overpriced. We tasted their salads, pasta and vegetable side dishes, all of which were lovely. We followed this with sorbet and ricotta cheesecake, which also didn't disappoint. I can see why Cucina is regularly full - for evening meals, reserve ahead to secure yourself an assured, tasty meal.
Excellent restaurant. I did Thanksgiving Prix fixe and my family did prime rib, lobster risotto, and pasta puttanesca. Everything was fantastic. Will go back for prime rib and risotto. And the pizza.
We had a lovely dinner together at Cucina. The restaurant was bustling but our hostess sat us exactly where we wanted & the service was prompt & professional. Excellent choices of gf entrees: I recommend Salmon with black truffle oil over whipped potatoes. He had the Steak with Rosemary fries & aioli. We also shared the creamy Lobster Risotto, which on a chilly night really hit the spot! Looking forward to eating there again soon. Thanks!
Chadwick is the best server we have ever had! Kind, sweet, and attentive. He paid close attention to detail (we have strict diets and allergies). It was refreshing to have someone understand our diets. The place was very accommodating to our requests and the food was amazing. The outdoor atmosphere at night with the fires on the deck was magical too.
The food here is absolutely amazing! Creative dishes, shared several with a friend and we both enjoyed them all! Service was a little slow but only because of how busy they were that night. Very friendly staff
Sean is a great server! He was attentive and generous. We had an amazing anniversary celebration on the gorgeous porch. The gelati was out of this world.
Beautiful space with an incomparable ambience. The food was delicious; but the service set it apart. Our server, Fatima, was warm and attentive without being overbearing and ensured all our needs were met. Truly a gem of a restaurant. Highly recommend and will definitely be visiting again.
Seriously get the meatballs and parmesan polenta, it was so incredibly delicious. My main dish was pretty good too, although there was a quality issue that the waiter promptly addressed and fixed for us. Overall service was alright. The restaurant is also very beautiful. I love the outdoor dining area with the garden, the inside was also nicely staged.
Wow what amazing food and impeccable service. I was lucky enough to try a new menu item tonight, cauliflower and oyster mushrooms, with this sauce I STILL can't get over -- and it floored me so much I'm writing this review, Just wow. They should bottle this sauce and sell it worldwide. Seriously. Thank you chef and staff for the best cauliflower dish I've EVER had!! 😎
I've heard rave reviews about Cucina and people aren't lying when they say this place is great! It's a beautiful restaurant with great atmosphere; perfect for date night. If you get a chance, choose a porch reservation - they have multiple heaters on the porch to make it comfortable even on cold nights. They had several gluten free options (even for dessert!). We ordered pretty much exclusively from the specials menu and everything was divine. Seriously, get the cheesecake for dessert. It was so good, I ordered it again the next night of our trip for pick-up.
My friends and I always enjoy our meal at Cucina when we are visiting Woodstock. The food is always fresh, local and delicious! Special shout out to Sean our server who was accommodating and very charming.
Plates are big - and delicious. The chicken parm was soo good that I almost returned the other day. Prices are fair - cocktails range 12-14 and most pastas around 20-25. Only pushback in my view is that they are too fast serving, cleaning tables, bringing the bill. Feels like NYC, but I got their point. They are overall fully-booked so trying to sit as many clients as possible is part of the game.
Excellent Italian food. The best squid I've ever had. Friendly, efficient service. A bit noisy, but how can it be otherwise with a room full of New Yorkers.
Top 5 meal for me at this restaurant! Every dish was extremely well conceived, crafted, and executed. I don't say that easily.
Everything from the drinks to the food, the service and dessert was all worth the visit. I enjoyed my birthday dinner here very much. I ordered the risotto which was delicious. We had the pizza for appetizer along with calamari. Everything tasted amazing. Service was fast, all COVID-19 guidelines met. We had reservations and were all seated promptly upon arrival. Definitely recommend.
A beautiful place, nice prompt service. The host was very accommodating and friendly. The food was good, my daughter had the huge serving of chicken Parm. She said it was delicious. I had a smoked salmon open faced sandwich type scenario, also delicious. We finished with the olive oil cake with lemon curd. I think we liked this the best! ;)
A must stop if you’re ever in Woodstock. Cucina is an absolutely beautiful restaurant set in an old farm house. The gorgeous front porch is the place to dine on a warm night. The service was outstanding. Our food was equally excellent with an emphasis on the meatball appetizer which was simply some of the best meatballs I’ve ever tasted. The chicken parmigiana is a big plate of food but absolutely delicious. The linguine vongole was perfectly prepared as well. Their cocktails were fine but nothing to write about. The wine list is small but has some nice selections and our server was a bounty of knowledge about the lists. Without question one of the most memorable meals I’ve had in a long time.
I’ve been here many times and have never been disappointed. The management is friendly and attentive, mostly good service from the waitstaff, comfortable bar area and a charming porch. Inside can get a little noisy if there’s a large party but the fabulous food makes up for it. My personal favorites are the sublime pesto ravioli, the baked olives with a chunk of cheese and thick balsamic dip, the salmon which is always perfectly done, and the steak.
Excellent dinner! Food, service and atmosphere all where fantastic! Have been to Cucina many times anytime we come up to Woodstock we make sure to stop in for a great meal!
This is my favorite restaurant in the area and most definitely in my favorite top five around the globe. I have eaten here many times and every single time the food is exceptional and the staff is welcoming and makes my dining experience amazing. There literally isn't one thing on their menu that isn't absolutely amazingly delicious. They have kept this level of excellence for decades since they opened and not once been less than expected, but better than. A huge thank you to the chef and all his staff in the kitchen and in the diningroom! You all are a constant level of excellence not many restaurants around the globe can say they maintain like you do. 🤘🤩🤩🤘
We visited from NJ/NYC for New Years Eve and were very impressed. The tables were spaced out and the room was spacious given Covid restrictions. They had plenty of gluten free options for my wife Celiac Annie. She was able to get a gluten free appetizer, Main dish and dessert with no issues. They also accommodated my 3yo son on NYE without issue. I got the lamb chops and wasn't disappointed. Highly recommended!
On a bright sunshiny although blustery and unseasonably cool June 22 day hunger and proximity brought me to Cucina in Woodstock NY. I chose to sit on the lovely wisteria vined porch. I craved the NY strip steak which comes with thin shoe string French fries and a small lightly dressed pile of arugula. I had a glass of French red and a fresh Oj. I hadn’t eaten all day so I was really hungry and thirsty too. They offered bread with my meal but I live GF so when I declined my waitress told me about their GF pizza crust as an alternative. It’s made with cauliflower ,tapioca flour, yeast etc.. when baked its sprinkled with rosemary and flake salt then served with olive oil for dipping. It was delicious. My steak was perfectly cooked, at my requested MR ,flavorful and juicy . The shoe string French fries were hot ,crispy and perfectly seasoned. Arugula is arugula but with the cilantro sauce ,served for the steak, was perfect to balance out the bitter greens. The furnaces were set up as the evening progressed but fortunately for me , who had zero plans for dining out, they sell warm clothing brandishing their name! Wait staff and the manager were very helpful and efficient. The porch became more crowded but I was blissfully enjoying every bite of my meal. I didn’t eat too many fries because I saw the specials. One of the specials was a rhubarb strawberry crisp with vanilla ice cream.. I gave in. When asked if I liked it I happened to be tearfully remembering my deceased relatives who I shared this with in times past.. This dessert was delicious as the blend of tart and sweet with creamy and nutty bites evoked emotions I hadn’t expected! Food should reach your heart and this meal did all of that for me.
Beautiful rustic farmhouse, plenty of space. Your not sitting right on top of each other. Outdoor dining on the front porch. Airy and comfortable. Wait staff are incredibly helpful and kind. Our bartender was super nice. She made me a lemonade rosemary drink of some kind, it was so good! Very refreshing! Great dining experience and the food was amazing! Show-up hungry ready to experience all the great combination of flavors. Best dining experience I've enjoyed in a very long time. If your ever in Woodstock, Cucina is a definite must on your list of places to eat & visit.
✨We had an excellent experience from the moment I had to call to let them know we would be 30 minutes late (on a Friday night-prime time!)…they said, “no worries, we will shuffle things around” to accommodate our tardiness. WOW!! Service, food & ambiance was perfect! Glad we decided not to go to an over rated LEPETITE BISTRO IN RHINEBECK !!✨
This was the second time we’ve been to Cucina and this time we brought a group of friends. The cocktails were lovely, and the pasta was to die for! We loved the atmosphere, friendly service, and of course the food. We’ll definitely be dining here again the next time we visit Woodstock!
The new weekend lunch was a delightfully pleasant palate pleaser! My meal was light, creative and delicious while also being healthy alternatives. Can’t wait to come back for lunch again!
They were able to accommodate our party of 6 last minute on a Saturday night. Great food and wonderful service. Would return again if we're ever back in the area.
The food and service were excellent. The pizza was one of the best we have ever had- it is thin and crispy. Good drinks and bread. We sat outdoors- it was surprising, but nice in late October to have that available.... they had heaters. Only complaint is that outdoors it was loud with the traffic- the restaurant is at an intersection of two major routes.
Very nice restaurant with attentive service, nice setting and our food was very good. Meatball and olive/paremesan appetizers A+. I had the bolognese and although it was the spiciest bolognese I've ever had (I order it a lot) I really loved it. Chicken milanese was OK, salmon was good. Would definitely go back if we are in the area again soon.
Amazing food, wonderful service, attentive staff. The bartender was so friendly and polite, she’s a real gem!
My hubby & I were celebrating his birthday in were staying in a nearby town for a couple of days. We decided to drive to this restaurant since it wasn’t too far. The exterior & interior were so lovely & felt like walking into someone’s home. The gnocchi was very delicious and the salmon w/ mashed potatoes were good. The cheesecake and tiramisu were fantastic and I would definitely come back for those alone. I loved that it wasn’t crazy busy when we came in compared to the nyc restaurants I’m used to. The staff was nice but Chloe was such a bubbly sweetheart & it made our experience that much better. We would definitely come back!!
Fun place, lively and hip. Big tables and small ones, something for everyone. A delicate squash salad was one of the apps and it was really great. There was a crispy squid which was also well prepared. Some delicious focaccia bread with some great olive oil. And then there was puttanesca, bolognaise, and clams, oh yes, a trout as well. All well prepared and really tasty. Desserts were the tiramisu, a fun sundae and a chocolate flourless cake, all eaten up.
Cucina was absolutely amazing! One of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. We started with crispy squid and it was delish. The rigatoni with sausage was perfectly cooked and so flavorful. My husband had the ribeye and it was cooked to perfection! The service was excellent and atmosphere was lovely. Great meal to celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary!
Really enjoyed eating here and sitting at the large table, it was a stunning atmosphere, great food and a nice and relaxing experience. Loved how we were seated at the long table with others, it was really cool to have a hippie commune style experience in a gourmet restaurant.
I had the pleasure of photographing a wedding for Nicole Puckette Photography this past weekend at The Barn at Cucina in Woodstock, NY, and I can honestly say it was one of the most beautiful experiences I’ve had behind the camera in a long time. From start to finish, everything about the day radiated warmth, care, and that unmistakable Woodstock charm. This big old tire lug even cried at one point (beautiful day). The Barn itself is stunning — rustic beams and earthy textures balanced by soft, glowing light that makes every moment feel intimate. The space feels both elevated and welcoming, where guests instantly relax into the atmosphere. As a photographer, I loved how naturally light fell across the room, how every corner offered a backdrop of character and soul. The staff deserves endless praise, I must say. They were attentive, yet never intrusive, and moved with thoughtfulness. I watched glasses being filled before anyone noticed they were empty, plates delivered with genuine smiles, and small details handled with a level of care that made all the difference. And then there's the food — it was out of this world. Every dish was crafted with love, pride, rooted in the flavors of the Hudson Valley and plated with artistry. From the first bites of fresh made pasta to the rich, soulful entrées of chicken and fish, guests talked about the food all night. And me, two days later I'm still talking about it. Guests lingered at long tables, savoring not just the food but a sense of connection it fostered. My hats off to the chef! I love what you do. The Barn at Cucina in Woodstock does not just host weddings — it embraces them. It gave the bride and groom and their family and friends a space to celebrate love, life, the past, present and the future while also creating a sense of community, belonging. By the end of the evening, it was less like a venue and more like a gathering place for something sacred, joyful, holy. If you’re considering Woodstock for your wedding, The Barn at Cucina is a gem. As a photographer, I can’t recommend it enough — it’s a place where love is not only celebrated but elevated, wrapped in incredible service, unforgettable food, and a setting that feels timeless, chic, elevated.
This might've been the best meal I've eaten in my entire life. Went for an anniversary dinner, got a lovely table on the porch. Service was quick, friendly, and helpful with recommendations (I was indecisive, everything looked SO good). The calamari with their aioli was delightful, so light and crispy. We also got the caprina pizza and a risotto special (can't remember what was in it, just that it was creamy and amazing). Cocktails were also sooo good. We will ABSOLUTELY be back the next time we're in the area. <3
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Cucina Woodstock, and I left feeling incredibly impressed. The food was an absolute standout - everything tasted fresh and perfectly cooked. The staff at Cucina Woodstock were attentive and friendly. They made our dining experience truly enjoyable. Overall, I highly recommend Cucina Woodstock. Whether you're seeking a romantic evening or a fun family outing.
One of must try Italian restaurants in Woodstock. They open late until 9pm, have a private parking lot. The cute & cosy house amazed me @ first look! Food is delicious, we tried the roasted half duck in special menu, very good 👍. I love the tables outside but it s a little cold so we decided to stay inside, they have the heater outside anw! Highly recommended when you are around in Woodstock, we visited on monday’s night but it is very crowded though :)
This venue is charming, and immaculate with high quality food and service! Our waitperson JoJo was attentive, enthusiastic, efficient and friendly. Our food was absolutely delicious. The fresh, homemade bread was out of this world as was the fine dipping olive oil. The main courses we enjoyed were creative and cooked to perfection. Dessert was amazing. See photos below. Highly recommend! Will definitely return again and again.
Strings of hanging fiesta lights draw one's attention to the big yellow house with an ample front porch. If you are lucky enough to have a reservation, you are in for a treat- "from soup to nuts". The basil cooler cocktail caught my eye for starters. It did take 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive, one at a time, which was an unfortunate way to start our evening. Our server Sean, was attentive and apologetic but the bar was swamped, as he said. Diners know that if one is promptly served a cocktail and a piece of bread, waiting is no longer an issue. Our meal was absolutely worth the wait! The risotto with lobster, scallops and saffron was perfectly prepared with all the care and attention it takes for a proper risotto. The delicate flavors lingered on my tongue long enough to make me smile! All the dishes were of the same caliber, with another special mention - of the affogato desert - on a plate with the words "Happy Anniversary" written in script with fudge sauce around the border! Thank you to all the staff at Cucina for a lovely evening!
Great pasta and meatballs. Ambience is also good, well staffed. With plenty of craft cocktails definitely a good place to have a dinner in the Woodstock area. Tried the special fettuccine carbonara and the linguine with tomato jalapeño sauce pictured. Both were great !! The meatballs were even better!!
Had a great experience at Cucina. Loved the food, drinks, dessert, the ambience, and the service. The slow roasted salmon was excellent, the Cipolla (without the bacon) pizza was great, and the desserts (flourless chocolate lava cake, tiramisu, salted caramel sundae) were our favorites. The bartender was amazing though (we started at the bar while we waited for our table to be ready). The only downsides were that the service after we were seated was slow (they were incredibly busy) and the Brocolli in one of the dishes was oddly bitter. Would highly recommend, nonetheless!
I am not the biggest fan of Italian food but I adored this spot! The patio seating was picturesque, with beautiful ivy framing the entire porch. Our whole family was happy with our meals, but my favorite was probably the goat cheese and pear pizza (well, I would call it more of a flatbread, but it was delicious no matter what they called it!). Service was lovely as well. I definitely think this is a great spot to stop by!
If you’re looking for a place to have an amazing meal in a pretty spot go to Cucina. I’ve had many dinners there and they never fail to impress on the food and the atmosphere is elegant farmhouse. Delicious Italian food from farm to table. The wait staff are so upbeat and kind. The experience is great from all angles. I always enjoy their homemade soda of lemon and thyme. They have a small bar area that you can sit and relax before or after dinner. Cucina is always the highlight of my Woodstock stays, and I’ve built the most special memories in that historic farmhouse. Cucina is perfect for a romantic dinner or a meal with a group of friends alike
This is an outstanding restaurant. Our table was ready when we showed up for our reservation. The staff people were friendly and attentive. The decor was very nice. There was a choice of indoor and outdoor dining. The bread was very good. We ordered calamari appetizer for the table, and there was plenty for everyone. It was prepared just right, lightly breaded with savory herbs, and it was very tender. We all had the salmon. It was delicious and tender. It was served on a bed of corn pudding and cherry tomatoes. We didn't have dessert so I can't comment on the desert options. The prices were reasonable considering the quality of the food. I highly recommend this place.
Everything was great. I went w my family of 10 including 2 kids under 5. We really liked the flat breads. The only complaint was that our waiter spilled an entire martini on me when he was pouring it and I was surprised we were still charged for the drink.
Making a reservation over email was easy and friendly. The food was delicious, I especially loved the risotto! This issues we had were waiting 90 minutes for food and the fact that porch seating is exposed, so it was a very hot night and we felt it for sure. The staff uniform appeared to be a flannel shirt as well, that seemed cruel in that weather! Food was a winner but we might have caught a bad night for service because our server seemed annoyed that we were there and she was hard to get ahold of. So with all of that and a very long wait for food, I’d say I recommend this spot but don’t go in a time crunch and don’t assume the service experience will be consistently good.
It's always pleasant to dine at Cucina. The ambiance is polished and attractive, service is gracious, and the food is mostly very good. I had a very delicious risotto with scallops and corn that was terrific. My companion had the old fashioned chicken parm with pasta; he thought the red sauce was too sweet and I tasted it and agreed. For dessert we shared a very delicious fig and buttermilk tart. The portions are generous and the prices are moderate by recent standards.
We visited Cucina over the weekend while we were in Woodstock. We got calamari for an appetizer and it was delicious. The breading was amazing and the sauces that came with it were fresh and flavorful. For the main dish, we ordered linguine with shrimp in a tomato sauce. It was really good, but nothing to write home about. The reason I didn’t give Cucina five stars is because even though the atmosphere is super cozy, where we were seated felt really tight. It felt like we were right on top of the people sitting to either side of us. The waitress also knocked over our water bottle and spilled water on me. I would check out Cucina if you’re in the area, but ask for tables that are more roomy if you can!
Good italian food in a nice, cozy atmosphere. We had a party of 6 but they could take us on short notice. The place wasn't very full. We sat by the fireplace (which set off the smoke alarm and brought in the local FD) and it was all very cozy. The sevice was very slow, however, especially for a place that wasn't very full. 20 minutes to get our drinks (we ordered and got appetizers before they arrived) and were never asked if we wanted another. Botched a simple martini but they fixed without complaint (after another 15 minutes of hunting down the server) and it was good sized. Portions were ample and well priced but my chicken parm was dry. Dessert read better than it tasted. 2 hours to get out of there and we weren't lollygagging. All in all a good go to italian in the middle of nowhere.
Very nice ambiance - we chose to eat outside on the porch. Service was friendly and efficient. Food was very good. We ordered two appetizers - calamari and a burrata salad. The calamari was lightly breaded and tender, the accompanying sauce could have had more of a kick to it for our taste. The burrata salad was delicious although I'm not used to having the burrata cut into very small hunks. I had the spinach ricotta ravioli, and it was delicious. My husband had the pork scallopine and loved it. Dinner and drinks - one delicious piece of tiramisu to go - bill approx. 150. before tip.
For covid time, this place had plenty of indoor and outdoor seating that was spaced out. The staff were friendly and the service was fast. We were in and out within an hour. Nice selection of cocktails and beers. The entree portions are big - more like family style so it’s better to share plates. The two things that could be more helpful is hand sanitizer accessible in the restaurant - we didn’t see any and having our own bottled water. Although we appreciated the waiters coming to refill our water, we would have enjoyed it more with a bottled sitting at our table for us to refill. Overall, food was delicious and cocktails were too! Will come again for sure.
The ambiance is definitely on the nicer side, where the decor looks elegant, warm, and welcoming. The staff and service were also very nice and speedy! The corn chowder special was tasty but felt a bit lacking where, as you can see in the photo, is only half full. The mussel special on Tuesdays was also a bit small for its price, where we counted around 15-16 pieces for 21 dollars, averaging a dollar and change per piece. The sauce that accompanied the mussel was on the sour side, which I personally would like it to be more garlicky or buttery than sour. The prickly pear yuzu drink was my personal favorite and I highly recommend it! The bolognese ricotta pasta was so incredibly flavorful that I literally couldn't stop eating it...even though it is my wife who ordered it haha. Our server, Briella, was so sweet, kind, and friendly that she literally made our dining experience so much more enjoyable! Our ribeye steak had some issues where it was first over cooked to well-done when we asked for medium-rare. Briella apologized and did her best to remedy it by requesting another one be made. However, the second one came out overly rare and Briella once again apologized profusely, which showed us that she really cared that we got what we requested. She never once argued with us or tried to persuade us that we were wrong, nor was she ever defensive about it; truly illustrating what customer-oriented service really looks like. Ultimately they were able to remedy it and the ribeye came out delicious with its herbed aioli! We want to take this moment to thank Briella for her diligence, care, and consideration in making our meal as perfect as it can be! Thank you, Briella, for being such an amazing server and for demonstrating what exemplary service looks like! We will definitely come back to try their many other delicious looking options! Definitely highly recommend the prickly pear yuzu soda and the bolognese! Thank you so much for reading and best of luck! (:
Cucina is a great looking place, very dog friendly. Unfortunately our food wasn't as good as I was hoping based on other reviews. The rigatoni was a bit more Al dente then would have liked, the pizza crust is super thin, so thin you could see through it and the rib eye was a bit fatty. The waitress and atmosphere are great the food didn't live up to the hype especially considering the cost.
We had higher expectations of the place and overall the experience was mediocre. I wouldn't go back and wouldn't recommend it if someone has a few days in the area. We had significantly better meals elsewhere. I was surprised at how standard everything was -- the menu, the preparation and the service. The menu wasn't very impressive at all; in fact all the dishes across the menu were very standard fare that frankly are easy to replicate at home. I'd expected a slightly more innovative menu, especially given the restaurant's proximity to fresh, local produce. Many of the dishes were seriously over-salted. We'd ordered a side of fries that arrived quite randomly between the appetizer and entree courses, and we ate these while we waited another 10+ minutes for the main dishes. Didn't really make sense. Lastly the salted caramel ice cream in the sundae (which was delicious) wasn't even homemade, and I found that quite off-putting because, again, what is the role of the restaurant?
Last year we were pleasantly surprised by the food so this is the third time that we came back. We went there last night. However, it took a long time to be seated in our reserved seats, a long time for the waiter to notice us, a long time for the water to be brought to be the table, and a long time for everything… Meatballs are delicious but the rest of the food is just fine.
Not as good as last year. Not nearly. Bolognese and Margherita pizza were mediocre, cappuccino luke cool not even lukewarm, desserts decent, kale salad good without subtlety. Service fine. Atmosphere pleasant. This year a culinary disappointment. Boy do we miss Peter and the Bear Cafe.
Service was very attentive and the breads to start were very tasty. My partner and I both got some non alcoholic drinks that were also pretty good. The main courses however were mediocre. We both ordered pasta and the dishes were brought out less than 10 minutes from ordering, so probably just reheated, or at least not made to order. The gnocchi was mushy, even though the red sauce it was in was decent. The ravioli was in a watery under seasoned sauce and was pretty unremarkable. While the setting and service was great, the food really let us down.
First of all, my husband and I were seated against a wall that had several tables for 2. The fabric on the banquet was very very soiled. Disgusting actually. I had to sit on my sweatshirt. Total turnoff. One waitress Emma for the entire room which filled up. She totally forgot about us. We had a salad with prosciutto that was not good quality. It was brown. The pastas were okay. I was not at la cucina in sometime and do not plan on going back for awhile. The prices quite high but I would not mind if it was good. Had to get up to ask waitress for 2nd glass of wine. Very disappointing experience.
We recently dined at Cucina, and overall, it was a mixed experience. The atmosphere was lovely, perfect for a night out with friends or your partner, and the service was outstanding. The staff was incredibly attentive, which made the experience feel special. As for the food, it was just okay. We started with the meatballs, which were the highlight of the meal, flavorful and well-prepared. I had the Caprina pizza, and while I usually love all of those flavors, they were overpowering when combined, making it a bit too much. My partner had the chicken parm, which was pretty standard, nothing particularly memorable. The real standout was the drinks, absolutely fabulous! If I were to go back, it would definitely be for the drinks and the ambiance.
My third visit to Cucina in the last six months was not the charm. The space is lovely, and the food is good. That said, the 2 daily specials we ordered were underwhelming at best, the server placed the order incorrectly, was absent most of the night, and the manger seemed interested in doing the bare minimum to make things right. When I’m spending over $200 for a meal, I want to feel cared for as a guest. (Maybe watching The Bear has raised my expectations of service too high?) I’m not sure if I’ll give it a fourth go in the future.
I have been coming here for many years & used to love the menu and get excited for my favorite dishes….until they all disappeared. No more delicious tuna entre, no more pistachio ravioli or mushroom risotto etc. Sadly, I don’t come here as much because of the food, so unfortunate as it’s a lovely place with good service and very close to my home.
The "short rib ravioli" had tiny shreds of meat in a glue based sauce. I gave my meal 2 Stars out of kindness. The potato fries were better.
We took my parents there for their 60th wedding anniversary. The food was not worth the price, the food waitress was absent most of the night. My dad wanted a cup of coffee, after 10 minutes of waiting, he asked the waitress for the coffee, and she proceeded to scold him for asking for it.
They use barilla pasta do you really want to pay 30 dollars for barilla pasta? Walmart had better pasta for 2 dollars. You can make better Italian food at home from a cookbook. Also that flatbread/pizza is a war crime against pizza.
My family and I have been coming to cucina a few times a year for the last 5ish years. Saturday night we had reservations for 8pm. It took at least 20 minutes to be seated. The hostesses were not thrilled that I kept checking in. It took 10-15 minutes for our drinks to arrive - wine and beer - and our waitress was visibly annoyed w us by the time they were delivered and even more annoyed when we sent the Chardonnay back. It was downhill from there w our waitress who scowled though the rest of the evening. We love the porch / Calamari app delicious as always / entrees mixed. The bill arrived INCREDIBLY PROMPTLY. We have loved this restaurant for many years but this meal was a huge bummer - being made to feel uncomfortable bc your waitress is SCOWLING at you doesn't make for the funnest meal. this is a relatively expensive restaurant so we certainly expected better service and food.
The food was just okay I gave it 2 stars. I see a lot of 5 stars I don’t think these people ever ate in a really good restaurant. The service was pretty good everyone was nice and Attentive. What really got me upset was my wife asked for a little sauce for her pasta on the side and they changed 1.50$ for two teaspoons. The chicken parmigiana I got was way overpriced and not good. I will definitely not return.
Not good. I got the special it was trash and the tiramisu had so much coca powder on it you could choke. The pizza was worse than Pete and Elda’s in nj. Do not come here.
Absolutely awful service! We were a party of five and had to wait TWO HOURS for our food, while four other tables that arrived after us got theirs first. When we asked our waiter about the delay, she was completely dismissive and full of excuses instead of actually helping. No updates, no apologies—just attitude. The only saving grace was the manager, who was kind and resolved the issue quickly, but honestly, that doesn’t make up for how terrible the service was. If you value your time and don’t want to be ignored by incompetent staff, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.
We ordered two flatbread-style pizzas, but it felt like the portions were smaller and thinner, maybe because it was takeout. At $18/ each they were the most underwhelming pizzas/flatbreads we’ve had, especially considering we ventured out on a snowy day. While other reviews are glowing, our flatbreads didn’t resemble what others have described or shown.
Very beautiful atmosphere and wonderful food and drinks, however service took an incredibly long time. We sat for half an hour before they even asked us which drinks we would like. They didn’t give us bread until we had to ask for it when she was taking our order. VERY small portions, not worth the money. Didn’t even ask if we wanted a size. My partner ordered the ravioli, in which they gave him 5 thin pieces. The singular cocktail he ordered was $14 alone. For two main dishes, one soda, and one cocktail, it totaled to $80 not including tip. They also never scheduled our reservation we called in on Thursday, causing a disagreement on management, especially it being our anniversary. I’ve never left a review, but I felt compelled to do so considering how long we had to wait for service. Very disappointing meal.
We walked in with very high hopes - beautiful establishment, home turned into a restaurant, nice decor as well as a very accommodating & kind couple of hostess. Waitress seemed to have zero knowledge of the food & menu - tuna crudo was overly sweet & tasted like it was covered in fruit juice. Rigatoni bolognese was average & tasted store bought. Waitress failed to ask what temperature we wanted the half rack of lamb & the entree came in room temperature, rare, & chewy. I think a lack of care here is affecting the potential of this restaurant.
Ate there the other night … Food was mediocre at best…. Chicken Parmesan was very salty and lukewarm .. and the pasta was very undercooked not even close to Al dente. Like rubber bands in a bland sauce .. The shrimp risotto was kind of just like a pile of glop With very little flavors… Service was good with attentive waiters and service people … We will not be returning there.
The entry i ordered was linguine & clams in a garlic/ and oil sauce. It was terrible. The pasta was tough, not cooked enough. It was hard not even all Dante. There wasn't much sauce and the pasta was quite dry! And to add insult to injury, the food was loaded with pepper. OMG give me a break, I couldn't even eat the pasta. I should have sent it back. I payed $132.00 for two people plus tip. I will not return
Went to Cucina had my usual delicious soup 🍲, Bartender was amazing... BUT Then I ordered their ($17) "margarita pizza"($17) I was shocked at what I had received 😅. Not only is there no fresh mozzarella on the pie , but look at the crust , seems to be a cracker like material. I placed the lemon for size reference.... let's continue.... so I tell the Bartender that it was really terrible and they should immediately stop serving this pizza to the public just for the mere respect of the customers and Italian culture. Again I wasn't being confrontational I was just explaining how sad and pathetic this "pizza" was. The manager slowly creeped over the Bartender shoulder and she said "is there a problem?" and I said "it's very obvious" and she said "o it's a different style of pizza" and I said "this isn't a different style pizza , it's Terrible" The manager seemed to be personally upset about this pizza , I know I was.... she then stated " if the owner heard you say that he would kick you out" .... I wasn't being loud I wasn't being rude, I was just letting them know that they really need to understand they are serving sup-par ingredients and charging TOP DOLLAR 💵 💰 . Being from Woodstock I should have know better then to order pizza from cucina, (it being a known tourist spot) I will do everything in my power to stand up In the name of pizza 🍕 🍕, DONT call yourself Authentic Italian cuisine and serve people middleschool pizza . But you know like the guy at the bar said ... " "There probably just making it really thin and without fresh mozzarella to make a bunch of money off tourists" well this local felt very much like a tourist today. I actually would have preferred the pizza I got as a child In middle school. We will fight for 🍕! It's really not that hard...
Over priced for the quality of food. Chicken was tough the vegetable was under cooked. We were charged 30 for drinks we didn't order. Good thing I caught it.
