We love their food and come often. Their service is very good! Speed of getting food ready is also good. Their sticky mango rice dessert is very good, sweet and ripe mangos. Still many dishes to try!
This actually turns out better than we expected! Guess it's not yet broadly shared on xiaohongshu but already got full house on a Friday evening. Food has 锅气 which is very authentic. Rotti with peanut sauce, papaya salad, spicy basil with ground pork all are very good. Their mild spicy level is probably medium in other American-Thai restaurant, authentic in its way. Prices are reasonable, we got more than we could finish.
While visiting Castro Street we decided to try this Thai restaurant and were very pleased with the quality and taste of the food, the service and the environment. The Mango salad with crispy tofu was exquisite. The spicy eggplant stir fry with prawn was also amazing. We paired it with steamed brown rice and after our first few bites decided we will definitely be back to try other dishes.
The owner was very nice and generous. The food was really good and the service was fast.
Everyone in our group loved their food. I recommend their curry dishes (Mussaman & yellow curry), spring rolls, ginger tea, and roti with cashew sauce appetizer.
We visited this place for team lunch. Great Thai place with excellent food! I loved the authenticity of the food and their service was great and friendly! Great vegetarian options too! Deserts were okayish! Worth a try!
One of the best Thai restaurants I have been. Hot Tom yum soup was made of shrimp, mushrooms and tomatoes and it was very sour. Hoa Mok Fish was tasty and the spice level was pretty good.
Best Thai food experience in Mountain View/Palo Alto. Our months- long search is over. We had chicken satay, soft tofu fresh rolls, and spicy basil tofu fried rice. All really good. Great service, airy, on a busy fun closed street. We will be back!
Very nice Thai restaurant. We enjoyed large coconut seafood soup and springs rolls and also Sinhga beer. Everything was fresh and tasty.
10/10 experience and food. I used to come to Amarin a lot when I lived nearby. I have not been back in a long time but was able to stop by the new location. I am so grateful that I was able to come back and have the mango cashew chicken & thai tea. Everything was delicious, just like I remembered. The service was great and everyone who helped me was so kind. I will be back when I am in the area again!
Always wanted to try hot pot and finally got the chance to try it and happy I chose this for first time. Definitely a great experience. We ordered both the spicy and mild broths to get the best of both worlds. The flavors were surprisingly addictive and the whole experience of cooking everything at the table made it even more fun. Must try spot.
Had an excellent lunch at Happy Lamb in downtown Mountain View! I tried the vegetarian mushroom broth with USDA Angus beef and lamb, plus bok choy, spinach, and quail eggs, absolutely delicious and full of flavor. The ingredients were super fresh, the broth rich but not heavy, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Perfect spot for a cozy, satisfying hot pot meal! Highly recommend.
Highly recommend this Hot Pot dine in destination. You can choose this place with family as well as a friend gathering. There is wide variety of menu to choose and waiter is very helpful with suggestions based on your choice and taste. The hot pot with regular and spicy broth is a just fantastic to taste spicy version along with to balance the regular one. Lamb Skewers one must Try here. There are around many parking areas being this in Downtown.
Went on 4pm before thanksgiving day. Not busy and we were sat down right away. Since this is our first time, the wait gave us a brief introduction and n how to order and the amount of food to order to avoid food waste. Food was fresh. The soup base was tasty. This is not AYCE but the price was decent for each person. Will visit again.
Always love coming here. Get reservations if you are coming on Thursday night through the weekend. Otherwise you'll be waiting outside for a long time :) I had a birthday gathering here a few months ago (15 people or so) and it went great. Not our first or our last time coming back; we love eating here. Get the sesame bun and use it to blot the dripping soup off your meat and veggies, then eat the soaked bread. Best carb to go with hotpot if you ask me (maybe it's nontraditional, I don't care :) )
The atmosphere is really good, we came here on a Sunday just before dinner time and before they became busy. I like that they dont rush their customers to eat, because sometime customers need to pace when eating. Their broth is teally good, we got the original and the spicy one, when you combine the two its perfect. The service is quick too, not a lot of time waiting. They have a sauce bar which is enough to enhance your hot pot. Parking is a little bit tricky because its in downtown. The place is great for families, friends and even for a date. I highly recommend this place
What I love most about this location is their soup base is well done! It tastes very good and not too salty at all I literally can enjoy the soup here and the taste of their food. Even when you add the veggies and meat i can still taste the soup base on my food which really made it a thousand times more tasty without adding any extra sauce on the side for this food. However, I would avoid this location on weekends as the lines are really long unless you can spend 2+ hours at this location.

Pretty good good portion if you order the combos. Less wait time around 5pm. Regular hotpot restaurant environment.

Service was excellent! food was fresh and very good. Loved the steak, mushrooms, and bok Chou.

Trying this place after 10 years. The quality has gone down compared to our last experience. The spring roll was good but the sauce could have been better. It was too salty that it overwhelmed other tastes. Pineapple fried rice was good you can’t go wrong with it. Green curry was delicious. I think this was the only place that I could find spicy Thai curry. Overall, good meal, but kinda overpriced.
We have eaten here for years and this is the first time at the new location. This place is half the size of the old location that was across the street. The food is still very good. Mango cashew chicken is a family favorite. Service has room for improvement. They dropped stacks of plates on the center of our table and had us place them, dropped 4 glasses and left at the side of the table, and brought the wrong appetizer by accident, We will still return and hope service is better next time.
The food was delicious I enjoyed the green curry I ordered and the pan-fried noodles. Service: The server was also really attentive to our friends’ nut allergy so I appreciated how they went back to check if the dishes were nut-free. The service can be slow also. We waited a while for our food and they almost missed the last dish we ordered, so expect to wait after you order. Restaurant: The restaurant has plenty of seatings. They have Thai decorations on the wall which is nice to see. It also looks like they have the tables where you sit on the floor, but those were closed when we came. Parking: Parking around downtown Mountain View’s not bad. We just parked in one of the lots nearby.
The food was really delicious but I am giving four stars because they gave us small dish and it was hard for us to eat in small dish. Apart from this the overall quality of food was awesome and the service was also good. Along with it they also helped us by keeping the cake in refrigerator as went to celebrate one of friends birthday. Fried rice , spring roll, pranthey and chutney and special salad was too good but the quantity was less as per price. I am definitely going there again!!
A great Thai place to eat with friends! The Tom ka soup is pretty good! I ordered with seafood. Curry is a bit salty but I guess you need to eat it with lots of rices, crab fried rice is my favorite! I had it twice but first time is better than second I guess. Still enjoyable
Came for lunch. Tried to skip carb and eat healthier and asked if I can have veggie as replacement. The waitress was flexible and agreed to change it without extra charge. Food came fast. My soup was delicious, although the replaced bean sprouts were scanty. Can't ask for more when they were nice enough to modify for you. Basil chicken and yellow curry chicken were both tasty. Yet the papaya salad was unbearably sour and tasted terrible, it also had fishy smell. I've never had papaya salad this bad. The recipe was a disaster. Service was very nice. Staff was polite and attentive. Would probably come back to try other dishes.
Good authentic Thai food. Friendly staff. Nice ambience. A bit pricey but well worth the tasty fare they serve. Some tables offer great view of the street and you watch the world stroll by.

The hotpot here is pretty good. If you like spicy food, just order the spicy broth. I never use the non-spicy one. My recommendation is don't order a ton of food. Be sure what you want to eat. The seafood platter is pretty good. If you don't taste the difference between premium and cheaper meat cuts, just order the cheaper ones 😀. Ask for recommendations. It's better than wasting food. They do allow takeaway though (but it's not as good as eating in the pot).
One of the better hot pot places in the Bay Area. You order à la carte, which is nice because you get to pick and choose what to get. The broth comes out first and then the rest of the items come out as soon as the kitchen has them ready (no particular order). The beef and lamb is always flavorful here and decently priced. The veggie portions are big as well. Our meal for 4 adults was about $40 each, which included 3 meats + about 8 side dishes. It was more than enough food and we all left feeling full. The staff does their best to be attentive to all the tables, but it does get busy during dinner time. Be prepared for a wait if you arrive after 6pm. Luckily, there is plenty of free parking in downtown Mtn View and it's easy and convenient to find a spot.
Solid hotpot restaurant. Nice atmosphere and pretty clean. We can for lunch and they don't have AYCE for lunch which was a bummer, but the lunch specials were okay. About $21 for lunch potluck. The meats like ribeye, lamb, pork belly was pretty good. It just was a little on the quantity side. Quality-wise it was on par with most Happy Lambs. The service was great- and people helpful. There is a sauce bar- and everything is pretty clean. Again the service was 5-star, but yes, it would be nice to have some more meat for lunch. I would imagine dinner is more happening and a better deal and quantity, but this review is just for the lunch menu. Enjoy!
This is a nice place at the end of Castro Street. The portions of meat and veggies are big, and the service is good. The Ribeye and Angus were especially tasty. The king oyster mushroom had a nice thick texture, which made it really good. The sauce bar was a little disappointing, with some sauces looking like they had been left out for too long, and it could use more variety. But overall, this is a solid place, and we will come back.
After the 49ers game last night, we headed to Happy Lamb, conveniently located right across from the light rail to Levi’s Stadium. Though it was packed around 7 PM, we were seated right away. The atmosphere was casual and lively, with many families enjoying their meals. The staff were warm and friendly, greeting us with smiles. The hot pot broth and ingredients were fresh and flavorful. We opted to add the AYCE sauce, fruit, and dessert for a small additional fee. While the dessert wasn’t our favorite, it worked out since we avoided the extra sugar. We had plenty of leftovers for two and even packed up the rest of our cooked soups to take home. Next time we’re in the area and craving hot pot, we’ll definitely be back. Free street parking is available in the neighborhood.
7/15/2024 Happy Lamb Pot 102 Castro St Mountain View, CA 94041 This is definitely not a place for a single diner, but I tried it anyway. It's at the north end of Castro St. with a spacious booth and table set up with burners in the center of the tables. I went there on a Monday for an early dinner and was seated promptly. The menu has extensive selections but as a single I ordered only the half and half broth and Lamb slices. The divided pot of spicy and regular broths was huge and would probably be good for at least six. The Lamb was high quality, tender and tasty when poached in the broths. I preferred the spicy half which had good but not excessive heat. It was good but I wouldn't repeat as a single, this would be great for a family or group that can order several several items to dip in great broth(s).
Lacking customer service, too pricey of a place to be ignored! Left before eating. Maybe I'll try again another time.

Good authentic food mostly, curry etc a bit over seasoned . Also note that extra sauce for ROTI seems like an extra charge of $7. Also the bill was given to me without showing the specific price for each item. Just wishing more honesty on this. The point is mostly deducted for this.
This would’ve got a 5 star over all but the lunch special was $21.99 and then they charged us $4.95 extra and the sauce bar without even telling us. They only advertised the $21.99 lunch special. I would not be going back here anymore what hot pot place charges $3.98 per person just for sauce bar…. Never going back!
I've tried Happy lamb Hot Pot at a few different locations, and I think it just comes down to personal preference. The food is fresh and the portions are good, but the flavors and overall style of …
Food lacked flavor. Chicken satay and papaya salad was good. Fresh rolls and crab fried rice were average at best. Pranag chicken curry was the worst. Had big chunks of chicken with two three pieces of bell pepper. Curry was tasteless and whole dish looked unappetizing. Won’t be visiting again
Unfortunately service fell far short of even decent. Both waiters were rude and short with a 10+ minute delay to take our order and 30+ minutes to receive food. Drink refills were nonexistent. When it came time to pay the bill, we were told when we were given the check that the bill could only be split two ways. There were 6 of us that sat down and we informed the waiter we would all be separate checks and there was nothing said. We paid via handheld PoS system which could easily separate the checks. I understand it takes a few more minutes of the waiter’s time to split the checks, but that is compensated by mandatory pay and optional tips. On the positive side, the food was fantastic, with great taste and really solid portions. This unfortunately does not overcome the service issues. With all the other options in Mountain View, I would look elsewhere.
I used to like lamb. Maybe I still do. But it tended on the gamey side with no extra cumin salt to alleviate. Mostly however, I find myself unable to let go of the repeated asking for water and not getting it. Eventually the manager had to step in and get water himself for us. This was after we had been hurried to choose a broth so it set the wrong pacing. The second and last glasses of water were filled when the halfway mark was reached though… very inconsistent.
The soy sauce is $2. Per person. Let that sink in, as you sit there waiting for your waiter to finally bring the food, with generic pop music blasting from the speakers. Two hard-earned dollars PER…

I came here on a cold winter evening, and the restaurant made us wait outside in the freezing weather with no clear explanation and no effort to accommodate guests. For a hotpot place, this is honestly unbelievable — customers are shivering before even getting a table. When we finally sat down, they brought the wrong dishes. Instead of fixing the mistake, the staff acted dismissive and reluctant to replace the incorrect items. It felt like they were doing us a favor by correcting their own error. What made the experience even worse was that they dropped the bill on our table before we were even done eating. No one asked if we needed anything else or if we were ready to wrap up. It felt rushed and rude, as if they couldn’t wait to get us out. Overall, the service was careless, unprofessional, and completely ruined what should have been an enjoyable hotpot meal. Definitely would not recommend this place, especially given how many better options there are nearby.
I’ve been coming to Happy Lamb Hotpot in Mountain View for over four years, and it’s always been one of my favorite spots. But recently, my friends and I had a get-together dinner here, and unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. All four of us had upset stomachs after eating, and two of us experienced food-poisoning-like symptoms. This has never happened before, so it was quite concerning. It makes me wonder if something was wrong with the broth, veggies, or other ingredients served that day. I’m also now unsure about the cleanliness of the broth vessels and kitchen prep areas. I’m not writing this to complain for the sake of it - I genuinely hope the restaurant takes this seriously. Please recheck your kitchen processes, ingredient freshness, and cleanliness to ensure no other customers go through the same experience. I’ve always loved this place, but this recent visit has really shaken my confidence. I hope things improve, and I’d be willing to give it another try if these issues are addressed.
