We love their food and come often. Their service is very good! Speed of getting food ready is also good. Their sticky mango rice dessert is very good, sweet and ripe mangos. Still many dishes to try!
This actually turns out better than we expected! Guess it's not yet broadly shared on xiaohongshu but already got full house on a Friday evening. Food has 锅气 which is very authentic. Rotti with peanut sauce, papaya salad, spicy basil with ground pork all are very good. Their mild spicy level is probably medium in other American-Thai restaurant, authentic in its way. Prices are reasonable, we got more than we could finish.
While visiting Castro Street we decided to try this Thai restaurant and were very pleased with the quality and taste of the food, the service and the environment. The Mango salad with crispy tofu was exquisite. The spicy eggplant stir fry with prawn was also amazing. We paired it with steamed brown rice and after our first few bites decided we will definitely be back to try other dishes.
The owner was very nice and generous. The food was really good and the service was fast.
Everyone in our group loved their food. I recommend their curry dishes (Mussaman & yellow curry), spring rolls, ginger tea, and roti with cashew sauce appetizer.
We visited this place for team lunch. Great Thai place with excellent food! I loved the authenticity of the food and their service was great and friendly! Great vegetarian options too! Deserts were okayish! Worth a try!
One of the best Thai restaurants I have been. Hot Tom yum soup was made of shrimp, mushrooms and tomatoes and it was very sour. Hoa Mok Fish was tasty and the spice level was pretty good.
Best Thai food experience in Mountain View/Palo Alto. Our months- long search is over. We had chicken satay, soft tofu fresh rolls, and spicy basil tofu fried rice. All really good. Great service, airy, on a busy fun closed street. We will be back!
Very nice Thai restaurant. We enjoyed large coconut seafood soup and springs rolls and also Sinhga beer. Everything was fresh and tasty.
10/10 experience and food. I used to come to Amarin a lot when I lived nearby. I have not been back in a long time but was able to stop by the new location. I am so grateful that I was able to come back and have the mango cashew chicken & thai tea. Everything was delicious, just like I remembered. The service was great and everyone who helped me was so kind. I will be back when I am in the area again!
Go there for outstanding dim sum, the place is usually very busy and most likely you ll have to wait for a table, but it is worth it. The food is excellent and a wide variety of dim sum are offered. Great place, highly recommended
Service is awesome and food is great. My fave is the salt and pepper chicken wings. No other places make it as good as here. Their stir-fried dishes are very good. Their HK style ice-lemon tea and milk tea are also very good. Their waiters/waitresses can speak English pretty well. The restaurant is bright and clean inside and decor is nice. I always bring my dog for outdoor seating. Dim sum isn't available for lunch only, you can also order dim sum for dinner too. Highly recommend.
one of our favorite places for dim sum. go on a weekend around 11a, if later it gets crowded. lots of carts come around. choose only what you want, there will always be more to come. don't worry about what it is, just try it. so delicious. it's best in a group of four or more people. sit, and eat and talk and eat for a few hours. odd that we don't have a version of this for American food. I think it's be very popular. maybe some day.
Delicious food with very friendly service. They were very busy and were able to seat us almost immediately. We especially loved the dim sum carts coming out to all guests seated outdoors!
Came here for a birthday dinner with a big group and it was so good! We tried so many different dishes. The pork rice noodle roll was the stand out for us. We also enjoyed sesame buns, chicken feet, shumai, and the cucumbers. Also the duck appetizer was so good. Highly recommend this spot for a group meal.
Met with friend for dim sum, at 1230 it was bustling. We were seated after a few minutes and then the carts started coming from all directions. We must have been hungry because we chose a lot of plates. They brought out a nice variety for every craving. I do not know all the names but were able to point which items we wanted.
Best large ~ 2 lb. whole lobster I ever tasted. Tender, sweet, and very tasty/flavorful. The service just like in the HK 5 Stars restaurants. Must visit for their food and its lovely impressive unique modern building exterior and interior decor with an Asian bambu flair. Located in a very lovely stretch of little shops and other equally amazing restaurants with foods from all around the world and much more.
Went here once and came back again to satisfy our din sum cravings. Always ordered dim sum which we re all delicious. Haven't tried their other dishes though. Also, you might notice that the restaurant is not crowded but don't expect food to be ready soon on your table because they get a lot of to-go orders. The first time we went, we got our food fast on a crowded friday night. The second time took almost half an hour on a thursday night. EDIT: don't forget to try their sesame balls!
Trying this place after 10 years. The quality has gone down compared to our last experience. The spring roll was good but the sauce could have been better. It was too salty that it overwhelmed other tastes. Pineapple fried rice was good you can’t go wrong with it. Green curry was delicious. I think this was the only place that I could find spicy Thai curry. Overall, good meal, but kinda overpriced.
We have eaten here for years and this is the first time at the new location. This place is half the size of the old location that was across the street. The food is still very good. Mango cashew chicken is a family favorite. Service has room for improvement. They dropped stacks of plates on the center of our table and had us place them, dropped 4 glasses and left at the side of the table, and brought the wrong appetizer by accident, We will still return and hope service is better next time.
The food was delicious I enjoyed the green curry I ordered and the pan-fried noodles. Service: The server was also really attentive to our friends’ nut allergy so I appreciated how they went back to check if the dishes were nut-free. The service can be slow also. We waited a while for our food and they almost missed the last dish we ordered, so expect to wait after you order. Restaurant: The restaurant has plenty of seatings. They have Thai decorations on the wall which is nice to see. It also looks like they have the tables where you sit on the floor, but those were closed when we came. Parking: Parking around downtown Mountain View’s not bad. We just parked in one of the lots nearby.
The food was really delicious but I am giving four stars because they gave us small dish and it was hard for us to eat in small dish. Apart from this the overall quality of food was awesome and the service was also good. Along with it they also helped us by keeping the cake in refrigerator as went to celebrate one of friends birthday. Fried rice , spring roll, pranthey and chutney and special salad was too good but the quantity was less as per price. I am definitely going there again!!
A great Thai place to eat with friends! The Tom ka soup is pretty good! I ordered with seafood. Curry is a bit salty but I guess you need to eat it with lots of rices, crab fried rice is my favorite! I had it twice but first time is better than second I guess. Still enjoyable
Came for lunch. Tried to skip carb and eat healthier and asked if I can have veggie as replacement. The waitress was flexible and agreed to change it without extra charge. Food came fast. My soup was delicious, although the replaced bean sprouts were scanty. Can't ask for more when they were nice enough to modify for you. Basil chicken and yellow curry chicken were both tasty. Yet the papaya salad was unbearably sour and tasted terrible, it also had fishy smell. I've never had papaya salad this bad. The recipe was a disaster. Service was very nice. Staff was polite and attentive. Would probably come back to try other dishes.
Good authentic Thai food. Friendly staff. Nice ambience. A bit pricey but well worth the tasty fare they serve. Some tables offer great view of the street and you watch the world stroll by.
This is a solid dim sum place with good food overall. Prices were fair, except for the pan fried bao with translucent skins, which were way overpriced. We enjoyed the shrimp chang fen and the Chinese broccoli. The har gow had nice chewy skins, but the filling inside was only so-so. I was not a huge fan of the sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaves because the filling was made with ground meat instead of whole pieces. The staff were efficient and friendly. We enjoyed choosing our food from the roving dim sum carts. I ordered shou mei tea, which tasted fine.
Went for a weekend lunch and it would take 20 min to get a seat. Good that the service was okay and food was mostly delicious. Xiaolongbao (小笼包) was the best of all we had, especially with the special sauce provided. I even ordered a second one because I loved it so much! Also love the Shrimp and pork bean curb roll (鲜竹卷) as the bean curb was full of flavor in the broth. Shrimp dumping (虾饺) unfortunately didn't have much flavor and beef rice noodle roll (牛肉肠粉) wasn't authentic style, so won't recommend these two. Beef strip with ginger and scallion (葱姜牛百叶) was okay and my friend tried the chicken feet (凤爪), which he also enjoyed. Pork and preserved egg porridge (皮蛋瘦肉粥) is another good item, flavorful but not oily. Overall nice dim sum place!
Good Cantonese place. We were a huge party and they gave us a private alcove which was nice. Ordered a bunch of food and had a lot of leftovers. All delicious. My favorite was the jelly fish, eggplant stuffed with shrimp paste and orange chicken. The eggplant was cooked perfectly and I loved the sauce. The shrimp paste didn’t look too processed and it tasted more like actual shrimp in the eggplant, it was very good. The scallion pancake was too thin and bland. The tea they serve is good and the waiter was attentive. The buns we got were just okay, the soup dumpling was nothing special, the flavor didn’t wow me. The pineapple fried rice was pretty good and had a lot of canned pineapple in it which I wanted. Decent food all in all. And huge menu with many choices.
Not bad but also not great. Location is excellent and no line around 2pm. Clean looking place with lots of spaces between tables. The food was good. Could be better but not bad. The Mongolian chicken was good needs a little bit more salt but pretty good. The chicken feet was soft and tender. The salt & pepper fish was too crunchy and the filet had a bit of smell. Shrimp & pork dumplings were too globby. Service was efficient!
Good authentic food mostly, curry etc a bit over seasoned . Also note that extra sauce for ROTI seems like an extra charge of $7. Also the bill was given to me without showing the specific price for each item. Just wishing more honesty on this. The point is mostly deducted for this.
Food lacked flavor. Chicken satay and papaya salad was good. Fresh rolls and crab fried rice were average at best. Pranag chicken curry was the worst. Had big chunks of chicken with two three pieces of bell pepper. Curry was tasteless and whole dish looked unappetizing. Won’t be visiting again
Unfortunately service fell far short of even decent. Both waiters were rude and short with a 10+ minute delay to take our order and 30+ minutes to receive food. Drink refills were nonexistent. When it came time to pay the bill, we were told when we were given the check that the bill could only be split two ways. There were 6 of us that sat down and we informed the waiter we would all be separate checks and there was nothing said. We paid via handheld PoS system which could easily separate the checks. I understand it takes a few more minutes of the waiter’s time to split the checks, but that is compensated by mandatory pay and optional tips. On the positive side, the food was fantastic, with great taste and really solid portions. This unfortunately does not overcome the service issues. With all the other options in Mountain View, I would look elsewhere.
The food was disappointing at best. The softshell crab was fresh but not spiced. The portions of mongolian beef and the honey pepper pork were small. However both these were tasty. The combination fried rice was made in a hurry and had very little flavor. The chicken chow mein had almost no chicken in it. Isn’t a restaurant that I would visit again. This was a to go order so I don’t know if that was the low incentive to be good!
order dinner to go, tonight. we spent over 100.00 dollars on our order. I arrived first at 5:15 to pick up the order, they said it wasn’t ready and to come back 30-40 minutes. So i left and came back at 5:50… people were sitting around waiting to be served, people standing around the entrance and had not been helped. I finally got someone’s attention, they said it still wasn’t ready. so i stand around and wait some more. finally i told one of the staff i wanted to pay because i was tired of standing around. staff lets me pay, then goes and checks on the order, comes out from the back and said it was ready. get it home 5 minutes later. everything was cold like it had been sitting out for over a half hour. and this was one of dishes we purchased. ended up throwing it in the trash
