Tip: Get there early because there’s often a wait, but it's worth it. Try the Dutch Baby or German Pancake with lots of lemon and powdered sugar.

Omg. The food was soooooo good. The portions were huge. I barely ate half of my meal. I got the Nutella crepes with strawberries and it hit the spot. Service was fast, friendly. Ill def be telling the 3 friends I have so we can go back.
I’m laughing because I glanced at another review and it said something about the creamer for the coffee being weird and now I get it they bring you creamer in a little single serving plastic cup like the kind that you get for salsa when you take a burrito to go and so yes, that is kind of weird, but I’m not mad about it. It was delicious creamer. they even had heavy cream and flavors if you want them and our server was darling, and the menu is almost overwhelming they have everything and it was great. We took grandma there for a birthday breakfast and we ate way too much and took a bunch of food home. Total success.
Food was delicious! We tried their Dutch baby, and it was absolutely perfect. I believe our waitress was Kim. We came in this AM for this first time - and it was BUSY! But Kim had it handled and was professional, kind, and didnt miss a beat! She was ON it and attentive. The food is amazing, but the service is what I'll be coming back for!
Good restaurant. Nice and friendly staff. Good food. Nice diner-like atmosphere, but a bit nicer than a typical diner. My daughter spilled completely full glass of water everywhere and the staff was pretty chill about it. They got right on getting towels and the mop to clean it up and didn't try to make us feel bad about it (but we still felt bad about it lol) We will definitely be going back to try the apple pancake next time! Parking was a bit of a pain. This restaurant is on the corner of a traffic circle (do traffic circles even have corners?). So we had to park a little ways away from the restaurant and walk there. The handicap parking is very close though.
We were headed to Temecula and I decided to look up a place to have some breakfast. My son loves pancakes so I was searching and found The Original Pancake House and loved the fact that they were open till 2:00PM and still served breakfast since we were arriving around noon. Nice atmosphere, good food, very filling. Our server was nice and tentative. Will Return when in the area.
Loved this breakfast spot. Came here for breakfast as a party of 3. The wait was about 15-20 mins. We ordered the ham and cheese omelet, western omelet, and the 49er flapjacks. Everything was good. The omelets do take a little longer to come out because they make them in the oven but they are huge. I would say each omelet has at least 5 eggs. Will come back to try other items.
I simply love the apple pancake at The Original Pancake House. I have been to many of the around the country. Chicago, Orange County California, Seattle even the original house in Portland, Oregon. Each time the quality and consistency of this marvelous pancake is the reason why I keep coming back to enjoy this special treat. Yes you can certainly order regular breakfast items but if you have never had the Apple Pancake, you MUST give this a try! You will never even think about ordering regular breakfast items at this restaurant. Until the next time!!
Better than IHOP!! So many different kinds of pancakes, crepes, waffles, and French toast choices plus more. The regular coffee was good. I really liked the vanilla creamer in the container and the wood stick to stir my coffee. The food was good too. I had eggs Benedict with the pancake potatoes. The waitress was attentive and polite. The two hostesses were great too. It took a bit long to get the food but it was worth it. It was busy. Will definitely return.
They are so generous with their scrambled eggs . I am so delighted . Place is clean . Ketchup cover is clean. Coffee is hot when served. Server is attentive. Only thing is the pancake syrup is watery.
Great little place I recommend checking out that's right on the edge of Temecula's Promenade Mall. It's quite popular with the locals which means it gets super busy so check out my last point under "negatives" for how to avoid making your whole party wait 20-45 minutes to be seated. POSITIVES: ✅️Food is always excellent (I yet to order something I didn't like) ✅️Prices a quite decent - better than Dennys/IHOP ✅️Portions are always on the generous side ✅️They're almost always able to tell you in advance when they are/aren't busy so call the day before that way you can plan accordingly NEGATIVES: ⛔️Service and timeliness can be hit or miss based on how busy they get (literally night and day within just 20 minutes). ⛔️No reservations = if you go at a busy time you could be waiting 20-45 minutes to be seated! Over the years we've learned to either call to find out when they'll be less busy OR if we've got to go at a busy time, just send someone ahead to put our name down to avoid the whole party having to wait
This was my second time eating here in a long time. The food tasted good. A little on the pricey side, in my opinion. The waitress that we had seemed like she was new. She kept forgetting to give us what we ordered... like orange juice. Overall it's still good. We ate here on Father's Day so it was pretty busy.
Smaller "OPH". Service is hit-or-miss, once sat for 15-20 mintutes even after telling staff. I believe they are a "copy" OPH that bought the name. Most of their pancakes (49er and Dutch Baby) aren't exactly the same as others we've been to. They don't even have the signature mugs. Will do in a pinch, but would rather drive the extra 30ish minutes to get better pancakes at other OPH locations (like Norco). Likely won't be back, though we live close-by.
Hot chocolate was made with water disappointed. Biscuits & gravy, the gravy was very running not thick but good flavor. Feel that the quality of food is going down. We use to love this place 😒
Welcoming faces. Waitress was sweet and came by just enough times. The coffee was strong and the creamer came in a travel container, as seen in the picture. The Baja screamble had too much cheese for me, but cheese lovers will enjoy it. The Dutch baby was delicious as well as the pancakes. The burrito was smaller than expected but still good.
This is what you would expect for a crowded high volume generic diner. There is nothing special here. It is clean and the staff is efficient. Food is hot and clean. Not overly greasy. The waitress happily accommodated our egg white omelet request. My first cup of coffee was hot but served in a cold mug and smelled of wet dog. The waitress happily exchanged it for another, which was freshly brewed and hot served in a nice clean hot mug. The coffee itself - this is a breakfast joint after all - overall is weak and burnt, TBH it's terrible but it's what you would expect from an establishment with such a high volume of service in this genre. The egg white omelet was piping hot and perfectly cooked. Just the right amount of oil and fillings. The home fries were obviously made in a rush and only partially brown. They were however cooked through, fresh and not greasy. Much like the omelet, the seasoning was on the low end of salty, which in my opinion is better and more heart healthy so kudos. They also have very good fluffy gluten-free pancakes. The table was clean as well as the condiment containers and flatware. The service staff is HUSTLING but not a lot of smiles, none in fact. They seem overworked. Atmosphere is adequate, real wood paneling, nice lighting bright enough but not too bright. I wouldn't rush to return only because the food did seem a bit rushed. Go here if you are hungry and need to fill up in a hurry.
As we order our food we noticed that food portion was small.( not very fulling) plus not much favors to it. The pancake could be bigger. My wife didn't even finish her food so I ate mines and hers and still don't get full. There is basically no favors to the food its like eating AIR. So disappointed plus it cost over a $100. Not coming back
Servers have a whatever attitude. I asked for bacon well done and they brought me a plate of burned bacon. And the server was ok bring that to my table. Their potato pancakes are blan. They taste like the oil they're cooked in. In the hollandaise sauce is canned. Doesn't taste very good. Presentation is good. Food looks pretty. And their coffee is good. Strawberry crepes are good.
Do not eat here if you are looking to get your food in a timely matter. Came here to eat breakfast with my son. We were seated right away as they were not at 100% capacity. There were still a lot of open tables. We placed our order and did not order anything out of the norm. Scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausage, and crepes. We were waiting for a food for 45 minutes… I looked around and saw that people that were seated after us already had their food. I flagged down our waitress and told her we are waiting way too long for our food. She went to check with the kitchen, when she came back she said she told them to put the order in. Our food wasn’t even started after 45 minutes! I complained to the manger who only wanted to argue with me on the exact amount of time it took. Regardless if it’s 40 minutes or 1 hour- it’s still way too long to wait, considering they forgot to put our order in. Do not recommend.
From the moment we walked in I could tell something was different. Read a few other reviews that said management has changed and I can believe it. We have a young baby, so when we were being seated we asked if we could sit at a regular table instead of a booth so that we wouldn’t disturb the other customers. The host, who looked like he had just rolled out of bed himself, still in sweat pants, said that was fine but the waitress for this other area was still on break and said it would be about 10 minutes. We had no problem waiting. Right as the waitress came back from break about 4 or 5 other tables were sat in her section and when she finally came back we were the last table to be waited on. I would have thought the host would have informed her we were sat first, I guess not. Original Pancake House used to be delicious, unfortunately, this is no longer the case. I ordered the plain Belgian waffle, it used to be made with actual waffle mix, now it seems to be made of cheap pancake mix, much like you would find in a complimentary hotel breakfast buffet. It was also so cold my butter didn’t melt. The eggs were bland as well, not even sure it was a real egg. The waitress explaining they don’t add salt to them because the customer should add the salt. Overall disappointed in the food and will not be coming back.
